Cast of Characters: Riri Williams, Shuri

Riri Williams has posed:
Riri /COULD/ have just gone to the cafeteria, but today had been particularly successful, and this called for celebration. As such, she's prowling the food trucks parked a block or so away from Stark Tower, the characteristic dark red of her MIT hoodie kind of standing out in the crowd. Decisions, decisions. ...Ooooh, gyros. ...She could go for a gyro.

Shuri has posed:
For her part, Shuri actually had quite a bit on her mind. She was dealing with a lot of issues at 'home', so to speak. The Wakandan Embassy has her brother back and he's talking about finally bringing Wakanda into the world. That is something she has been looking forward to but now that it is happening possibly soon, she's rather distracted. She was only able to work on one thing today! Her wings, of course, but she has them up to the pointw here they consistently work. Of course, now she's hungry and she has been avoiding eating just stuff from home. She came here to experience America after all and what is more American than a food truck? Well, what is more New Yorker than that anyway. So, she approaches the same truck that Riri is heading toward wearing something a bit more casual than her usual fair, glancing only briefly at Riri and that dark red hoodie before she is distracted by food.

Riri Williams has posed:
"Uh, Hi, I'd like a gyro, medium spicy, extra tzatziki? Oh, and an orange soda." Riri's voice is fairly quiet, just loud enough for the cook to hear over the noise of the city around her. What also looks ALMOST like the latest gen Starkphone is swiped across the truck's payment tablet, and the teen takes a few steps to the side to wait for her order to be completed. ...Huh. Greek letters, overlapping... That's an interesting shirt.

Shuri has posed:
For her part, Shuri steps up and looks over at Riri after she orders. She then smiles and gestures to Riri, "I'll have what she is having." She nods her head and then she looks over at the payment tablet and then simply touches her bracelet. The beads there glow briefly and then the tablet indicates that payment was received. She smiles and nods before looking to Riri with a grin, "Well, hopefully what you asked for is good." She then smiles wider, "And it is the seed of a wawa tree. It is called WAWA ABA." She states, "It stands for perseverance." She nods her head, "Unless you were looking at something else?" She teases just a hint.

Riri Williams has posed:
Fortunately, Riri's obliviousness saves her embarassment and the teasing goes straight over her head. "It should be. I eat here about once a week. And I never would have guessed that. I was thinking about overlapping greek letters or something." Her gaze goes to Shuri's kimoyo beads, and the engineer tilts her head to one side. "...Fancy smartwatch?"

Shuri has posed:
A bit of a laugh escapes Shuri's lips and then she nods her haed, "We can say that. It is certainly a fancy something." She then thinks just about how common such a thing is among the Wakandan people that here it'd be fancy. She has to remember to keep her wits though and not ruin her brother's plans completely. She instead looks down to her beads before looking up at Riri, "You certainly have a fancy phone. I assume it is something to do with where you work?"

Riri Williams has posed:
"It makes affording it easier. I modded it, though. Better battery life and signal reception, faster processor..." And an uplink to one of SI's comm satellites, although Riri isn't going to say that given she's not even sure she's supposed to have been doing that. Oh, wait. Introducing yourself. That's something people do. "Riri Williams." She's saved from the awkwardness of potential handshakes by the arrival of food, and makes her way over to a nearby bench.

Shuri has posed:
Shuri doesn't go for the handshake anyway, as for her, it is not a traditional greeting. She was prepared for it but then food is arriving and she nods, "I am Shuri." No last name given even as she takes her food and walks over to the bench and sits with her, "So, what is a girl like you doing working at Stark's, Riri Williams?" She smiles as she settles in, "Unless I'm wrong, I'm guessing you are not older than me." She shakes her head and then looks down at her food, already not sure of her order but then, Riri said it was good.

Riri Williams has posed:
"I guess I kind of got lucky." Riri takes a big bite of her gyro, heedless of the meat juices and tzatziki on her hands. Mmmmmm. "I made something that caught Mr. Stark's attention and he thought if I could do that, he wanted me working for him so someone else didn't take advantage of me. And the tools are better than in my garage." Riri licks her fingers clean enough that she can get a drink of soda without any danger of things slipping. Hey, gyros are totally finger food!

Shuri has posed:
Staring at that a moment, she blinks and then takes her own, far more careful bite and hten lets out a sound somewhere between surprised and pleased. She sets it down carefully and then wipes off her hands with a napkin before sipping her soda, "I see." She looks over, "And what was it that you were making that could impress Tony Stark?" She asks and hmms even as she considers her own inventions...

Riri Williams has posed:
"Uh...." ...Should she tell this random person bout her project? Riri takes a couple more bites of gyro while she ponders this. "...Armor." Depending on how much attention Shuri pays to social media involving capes, she might have seen news about another person in power armor flying around New York, this one looking like the bastard offspring of one of Iron Man's suits and a Gundam.

Shuri has posed:
A blink and Shuri looks over at her, "Armor?" She asks and then she tilts her head, "Like the Iron Man armor?" She asks a little quieter. It's not a hard jump. Even without the news. What other kind of armor could interest Tony Stark? She sorta forgets about her food for a moment as she looks carefully at this other girl. It's not very often she finds someone clever enough to make something like that. If it's true, after all.

Riri Williams has posed:
...Nom. There's some deeper thoughts going on here behind Riri's eyes. "I've... lost people. I wanted to help people, and I found some bits of armor after an Avengers battle. I knew it /could/ be done, so I looked at what it could do and worked backwards." More gyro disappears, along with a few gulps of soda.

Shuri has posed:
A bite of her own food, she isn't moving as fast as Riri and she nods her head, "That's fairly impressive." She states simply enough. She nods before she takes a sip of the orange soda. That's pretty good. She then looks back at her, "I'm assuming you've done more than just play around with some parts now?" She asks and tilts her head, "Given you are working directly for Tony Stark?" She hmms and then takes another bite of the gyro before setting it down and then taking another sip of drink.

Riri Williams has posed:
"Well... It works. I've stopped muggings and robberies and stuff. The Mark II's going to need new materials and an entirely new chassis though, so I have to shrink down the subsystems, and I /really/ need to figure out an AI to help me manage everything. ...And I do some SI work occasionally too. Have to Justify myself." Riri's gyro is mostly gone at this point, and she's still just not really making eye contact.

Shuri has posed:
A nod and then she smiles, "That is true." She then leans over, "Well, I will talk to my brother then and maybe I can come see your lab." She nods her head and sits up straight again ans she picks up her food, "He is T'Challa." She looks at her gyro and then back, "Ya know, the Black Panther." She nods her head and then takes a bite of her gyro, mmming a little though hardly being as quick as Riri as she doesn't really wanna get that sauce all of her top.

Riri Williams has posed:
The gears start turning when Shuri mentions that her brother might have the connections to get someone into Riri's lab. They speed up a little when the name T'challa is mentioned, before the words 'Black Panther' just throw a monkey wrench into the whole system. Riri, fortunately, was in the middle of taking a drink of soda when this happens, and not chewing. There is a coughing fit, before Shuri is the prepresentative of a rare triple take. "...So that's why you looked familiar."

Shuri has posed:
Shuri smiled over at her and then she nodded her head, "I suppose." She then idly takes another small bite of her gyro and swallows it, "I am surprised it took you so long but then again, you have been staring at your own lap since I sat down." She nods her head.

Riri Williams has posed:
"I'm not good with people. Tech is easier." This is very true. Riri's intellect may have helped her score her job and ability to be a hero, but her brain got extra of it instead of social skills. There's a reason that her work/life balance is potentially even worse than Tony's. He at least goes to parties and hangs out with the other Avengers.

Shuri has posed:
A nod and then she considers, "Maybe I can help you with that." She shrugs and nods her head, "Though I will honestly be more interested in what you are working on than anything else and maybe I can get your thoughts on some things I have worked on?" She asks and smiles before she goes back to eating her gyro.

Riri Williams has posed:
"That'd be pretty cool." Riri smiles a bit. See, she does have emotions! "Most people stay out of my lab unless they're delivering something. I bet you've made some pretty cool stuff too, and I do like seeing other people's stuff." Lunch finished, she tosses the wrapper, plate, and bottle into the trash can next to her.

Shuri has posed:
"Well, if you have seen my brother in his habit, then you have already seen at least one thing I've made." She grins and nods her head, "Though, admittedly, I'd say it is not my best thing." She laughs a little and then looks over at Riri as she finishes another bite of her gryo, "But I'd love to see more of what you are doing."

Riri Williams has posed:
Riri's eyes widen. "You made... I have so many queestions. ...Which probably shouldn't get talked about here in detail where everyone can hear. Uh... If your bracelet does NFC, I can give you my number?" The modded starkphone is produced, and held face up in Riri's hand.

Shuri has posed:
A simple smile and she pulls up her bracelet and simply touches it for a moment, shifting her finger ever so slightly along it and there's a glow befoer she not only gains Riri's number but gives her Shuri's in return, "There you go." She nods her head as she smiles and nods her head.

Riri Williams has posed:
"Thanks." Riri's phone is shoved back in a hoodie pocket. "...I should probably get back to work, but it was nice meeting you?" She stands, hands firmly in the pockets of her hoodie. "Text me when your brother works things out, and I'll give you a tour."

Shuri has posed:
A smile and a nod, "Sounds good!" She states simply enough and then stands up herself, wrapping up her gyro and then nodding to the girl, "Thanks for the food recommendation. It is an interesting flavor though very messy." She nods her head.
