Date of Scene: 09 April 2021
Location: X-Factor Investigations
Synopsis: Rachel's binge watching The Clone Wars at three in the morning, while Jamie's trying not to spoil Star Wars to the 'newb'.
Cast of Characters: Rachel Summers, Jamie Madrox

Rachel Summers has posed:
It's - well past midnight. The hour is close to three in the morning and the figure seated on the sofa in the lounge has her legs curled up to her chin, her arms wrapped about her knees, a small blanket situated next to her, and a half-eaten bowl of popcorn on top of the coffee table.

Emerald eyes gaze intently at the screen that flashes brilliant hues of color throughout the room. The room, itself, is dark save for the television that lets out the only illumination.

The television is playing out an animated show, an adorable Togruta female is sassing a square jawed male, and a flicker of a smile crosses Rachel's expression as she watches this animated show progress.

The sound is set to low, it barely reaches the hallway, it's up just enough to be heard, but not too loudly, and the red-head is completely enthralled in the scene taking place.

Jamie Madrox has posed:
As may be expected from the late hour, Jamie Madrox has long since retired to his room for the night, and as there haven't been any sightings of any of his duplicates, he presumably hasn't left any wandering around the place working on anything through the evening. That's left the lounge free from interruptions for the past however many hours, barring the occasional snore or other random noises of sleep that may have escaped past the partially opened door to Madrox's room.

Free from interruptions, that is, until this moment, nearly three in the morning, when Jamie's door creaks fully open and the man himself shuffles out into the lounge shortly afterwards, his hair dissheveled and his PJ's rumpled and loose over his slim frame. "What are you..." he begins in a clearly groggy voice, before he rubs his eyes and takes a few steps further in to focus on the television proper. "Animated Star Wars? At three in the morning...?" Jamie stands there just a moment before he finally adds, "Well. I guess it's better than Charles in Charge..."

Rachel Summers has posed:
"SHHH!!" Comes the hushed voice of Rachel as she sets the program on pause, turning on the sofa to cast a gaze towards the bed-head of one Jamie Madrox. Rachel, for her part, is dressed in an over sized sweatshirt that hangs down well past her hips, a pair of yoga pants, and fuzzy slippers, which she puts down onto the ground at this point. Twisting about on the sofa so she can face Jamie, Rachel's index finger wags. "And no thinking spoilers. I'm watching this as the internet states, from episode one, to two, to the clone wars animated, and then onward."

With a wrinkle to her nose, Rachel's eyes glow ever so slightly as she puts up even more mental shields than before just to be on the safe side, a stray thought could ruin everything!

"I'm on season five and Ahoska has just been cleared from being framed, but she's LEAVING THE JEDI ORDER!" And this is something that Rachel is clearly upset about, as her eyes glisten just slightly. "And I don't think Anakin is handling it well, at ALL. This is going to be VERY bad."

She's.. well, getting into this entire thing it might seem. "Did I wake you?" She finally inquires, realizing that the sound and lights might have been bad for sleeping.

Jamie Madrox has posed:
For a moment, Jamie just stands there as Rachel goes on her schpiel regarding spoilers and the apparently internet-sanctioned order of watching the Star Wars movies. He's about to say something, it appears, when she mentions that Anakin's reaction to Ahsoka's departure from the Jedi will have 'very bad' consequences. That comment elicits a rather amused smile and he almost blurts out something *very* spoiler-laden before he catches himself. "Yeah, well, it sure-"

He does catch himself, though, and clears his throat as he answers the other inquiry. "Oh, no, the volume's fine, just woke up with an attack of the midnight munchies. Or... Three AM munchies, I guess..." Jamie regards Rachel carefully, then, his lips pursed together and twisted just slightly to one side. "So, you've watched ..what, Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones? But you *haven't* watched the original, Empire or Return of the Jedi? Where did you get that order from? You know what I've told you about being careful of what you read on the internet," he chides playfully. "You should have started with the original, Star Wars. Episode 4. A New Hope the kids call it these days. *Then* Episodes 1 2 and 3, and... Well, really, it doesn't matter what order after that. But for all the right context, it's those three first. Bar none."

Rachel Summers has posed:
With a humph, Rachel turns back around on the sofa, once more slipping her feet out of the slippers and planting them flat onto the cushions, her arms wrapping about her knees as she does so. "That just doesn't make any sense at all, wouldn't that just spoil the entire thing? You'd know what happened!"

With a furrowing of her brows, Rachel tries to figure out why on earth you'd start with episode four, versus one, and other than the time that the episodes came out, as in, the original four came out in the seventies, and the others came out a decade or so later..

It's just too much for Rachel's brain to process, especially at three in the morning. Her hand gestures towards the half-eaten bowl of popcorn. "There's some popcorn, if you promise not to blurt out any spoilers, accidently, or on purpose! And no thinking it either! I...don't trust myself not to read your mind."

Which sends a slight scowl to Rachel's expression, before she shrugs, pulling the blanket up and over her legs to curl up comfortably into the corner of the sofa.

Jamie Madrox has posed:
Spoil the entire thing? Despite Jamie's best efforts, his mind can't help but to race with the fact that, watching the Pre-quels actually serves as the biggest spoiler of one of cinemas most surprising reveals of all time, at least as far as popular culture is concerned. "It.. It actually doesn't spoil the whole thing," he counters after a moment of collecting his thoughts. "In fact..." He pauses, pondering again. "Okay, look, let's continue watching the Clone Wars but then you gotta trust me and fast forward to episodes 4, 5 and 6 before you watch *anything* else. I'm not kidding, you'll thank me later."

Jamie does some quick mental calculations - doing his best to keep those thoughts shielded as best as he can, leveraging both layered duplicate memories and psionic training from his time at Muir Island to help - to make sure that there isn't anything in Episodes I or II that would betray the 'big reveal' in Empire Strikes Back. Confident that there isn't, he nods again and circles around to join Rachel on the couch, grabbing some of the popcorn as he does so. He can't help but smile as he regards her, curled up there and quite avidly invested in the pop culture phenomenon. "But yes, I promise not to spoil anything. To be honest, I haven't even watched all of The Clone Wars show, but I've heard some great things about it..." Jamie settles back into the couch then, stealing another glance at Rachel as the show resumes. Maybe he'll muster up the courage to see if she'll be willing to share her blanket after an episode or two...
