Warmup Concert!
Date of Scene: 13 April 2021
Location: Javits Center, NYC
Synopsis: Val gets a CD signed for Nadia by Dazzler
Cast of Characters: Alison Blaire, Valeria Richards

Alison Blaire has posed:
It's a concert, in the Javits center. Not the usual setting for Dazzler when she tours, but, she's got some new material and is trying to keep word of the tour on the down low right now as she prepares for it, so she isn't exactly 'on the cards' for tonight. But she knows the headliners and they owe her a favor for her collaborating on their last album so...she's snuck a secret set between the openers and the main act. The lights in the hall dim, and for a few minutes the stage gets set with her setup -- just a guitar for her, and her backup drummer's set -- and then when the lights come up, there is Dazzler on stage, "Good evening New York City!" she calls over the surprised roar, "I heard the Uprising was in town, and I desperately wanted to meet their fans. And, give them a little treat," she says with a wink, before she looks over her shoulder, and then says, "I'm going to play some new stuff, nobody's ever heard this before, so, buckle up and enjoy!" And then, she dives into her first song.

Valeria Richards has posed:
Valeria's all dressed up and ready to party. Well, if not party, at least attend the private concert. It's one of those hyper-exclusive things that get sent out to VIPs, and for once Val wasn't elbow deep in some sort of project, or helping save the world. And so she's dolled herself up, golden hair tied back in a bun that's likely a little more serious looking than she intended, slim shoulders helping hold up the glittering silvery dress she's chosen with thin spaghetti straps. The neckline's not terribly daring, but it's still far more revealing than a neck to toe unstable molecule suit. The dress cuts off beneath her hips, leaving her long, toned legs almost bare, down to a pair of high heels that are strapped up toned calves.

She -gasps- as Alison appears on stage, and follows it up with the same high pitched squeal she hears echoing out from the other young women in the audience, lifting her smartphone and snapping one of many photos. Val could get used to this whole being a normal girl thing.

Alison Blaire has posed:
Alison Blaire does not see Valerie, as she's just a face in the crowd behind the blinding lights of the stage, but, it seems Dazzler is enjoying the adulation. Her first song is fast, an uptempo song about the things singers like to sing about: partying and having a good time. It's pretty good. Not her best, but will likely be on the radio in a couple of weeks. She then slows it down for the second song. This one seems to be about a relationship that's ended and how its made her feel. The lights on the stage lower, and well, Dazzler's light show starts to go into effect now, muted sparkles coming from her as she sings soulfully.

Valeria Richards has posed:
Val's just sort of grooving, enjoying the peppier song, even tapping her foot along. The second song has her going from squealing fangirl to a quiet, hushed tone. Her eyes widen as the lights lower, her hands clasping together. Eyes go wide. Her mouth might fall open a little in awe as the light show begins and her heartstrings are plucked. This is totally why she has a wall of Dazzler posters in her room.

Alison Blaire has posed:
The second song takes its time. It's long. It's something that really you don't hear on the radio ever and it's deeply written. Clearly this has taken a long time for her as she sort of...draws it out? Not TOO much but the pace slows down, and there are notes that are held for longer than necessary. When it finishes, she is blushing a bit pink from the effort -- it is a complex and difficult song to sing and she belted it out full voice -- and stands and bows. She takes her mic and walks along the stage, "Thank you! Thank you. I worked...for a long time on that one. A few years. It's about the first boy I kissed." She giggles, and then says, "But..enough slow sad songs, let's get the Uprising out here and get things started!" And then, the main band comes on stage. Dazzler stays out too though, and after a quick four count, the band and her break into the song she featured on, on their last album.

Valeria Richards has posed:
Val claps and whistles, just sort of vibing on the energy of the crowd, finding herself moving to the motion and rhythm around her. Her teeth worry her lower lip, the song definitely hit a few hearstrings there. She's definitely going to have to tell Alison how great it was during the after-concert VIP meeting. But then the main band is out, and Val's ready to lose herself to more music and rhythm, and forget all about her usual worries and days.

Alison Blaire has posed:
Dazzler's part of the concert ends after that song -- at least until the encores -- and then she is brought out to do a rousing medly of the Uprising's biggest hits. She puts on a much larger light display this time. And after bows and a kiss to the leader of the band, she traipses off before second encore is called. Which, the band dutifully plays through. And then, the lights come up.

Valeria Richards has posed:
Val feels like she's dizzy, overheated, the concert's seemed to go on forever and end far too soon. She wouldn't be surprised if it had been half an hour or half a year. Her cheeks are flushed, chest rising and falling with rapturous breaths, desperate to catch them after the concert's excitement. It's only then she remembers the VIP pass hanging around her neck, trying to work through the crowd towards the backstage entrance to meet the woman who is surely the -favorite- singer of her and her friends!

Alison Blaire has posed:
After flashing her pass, Val will be led into the backstage area. For the most part, things are pretty well roped off, and Dazzler comes out with the band for about twenty minutes of chatting with fans and signing autographs and the like. But, then, she's gone. She does spend a few moments chatting with Val, but it's little more than the perfunctory 'I like your music' 'Oh thank you! Your dress looks lovely' sort of thing. Not REAL interaction. As soon as the band and performers leave, Security starts working on ushering people out.

Valeria Richards has posed:
Val's still reeling after just the simple meet and greet. And as they're beginning to usher people out... she realizes she forgot to get an autograph for the copy of Dazzler's first album in her purse! And... well, it's not really -illegal- for her to sneak away, and slip past the security using the skills she's developed over her short heroic career. And so Val slips her way into Dazzler's dressing room, not knocking, just sneaking in and then clearing her throat, "Oh! Uhhm... I forgot to get something signed Miss Blaire! It'll just be a moment and I'd really appreciate it! It's for a friend!"

Alison Blaire has posed:
"Miss Blaire?" Dazzler asks, grinning a little into her mirror as she works on getting her makeup from the show off. She says, "I didn't think I'd told security to let any of my groupies in yet..." she turns and winks to Val, and then looks her over for a long moment, "Oh, yes. I remember you, you've got that lovely dress on. Very daring. Hope nobody gave you any problems in it." And then she stands and walks over to the girl, adding, "I'd love to sign something, What do you got?" she asks.

Valeria Richards has posed:
Val laughs softly and offers up the CD, eyebrows perking up, gulping softly, "Oh! You noticed me? Well, I just figured I'd come out and dress up a little, treat myself to the concert." She clears her throat softly and murmurs out, "Oh! Can you make it out to Nadia? That's my friend's name."

Alison Blaire has posed:
"Nadia..." Dazzler says, trailing off as she looks at Valerie again, eyes narrowing just a bit as she tries to place the girl, "There was a very strange doctor...scientist...something like that who wanted me to sign some things for his daughter Nadia. Said she's my biggest fan. What a coincidence," she says with a shrug and takes the CD, writing a note to the girl, and adding her flourishing signature. "And of course I noticed you, at the meet and greet, silly," she says grinning. "I can't really see much of the crowd when I'm singing. I lose my train of thought if I focus too much on any one fan."

Valeria Richards has posed:
Val laughs softly and bobs her head, "Oh! That... yeah, that definitely sounds about right." She tilts her head thoughtfully and then snorts, "Oh! Of course, the meet and greet! I totally forgot about that, things have been a blur." She tucks the CD away in her purse and heaves a sigh, "Got anything to drink? I could use some hydration before I get going on my way."
