Cast of Characters: Hope Svelgate, Koga Miura, Knox Kennedy, Asa, Cinque Evers

Hope Svelgate has posed:
It starts in the Elmer Holmes Bobst Library of NYU, the moon hangs as a waxing crescent in the night sky above the university when the first pulse of dark energy surges through the lay lines of the city.

Deep within one of the various study rooms of the library is huddled a small group of five students from the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honors society. There is Michael, a polymath with a powerful frame who is pursuing a degree in biology while also playing football and has already done some fascinating work with genetics. Next to Michael is Bernadette, a mousy girl with long braids and big circular glasses who might just revolutionize economics one day. On the other side of of Michael is Walter, a young African American man doing amazing things with Chemistry. Finally across from them on the other side of the table are Kaka, a Chinese archaeology student, and the evening's ringleader for this test of courage Michelle, an anthropology and linguistics double major focused on dead languages.

It is into Michelle's hands that a certain dusty old tome came and she who called her friends together for this test of courage.

"If this works, tonight we're going to summon a demon!" Michelle actually seems downright excited at the prospect.

"Let's hope it doesn't actually work then." Kaka retorts giving Michelle some sideeye.

"Don't be silly there's no such thing as demons." Walter rolls his eyes.

"Look can we just get this over with?" Michael, perhaps most ironically, seems nervous about the whole thing and doesn't really want to be there.

As Michelle opens the book the first pulse of dark energy goes out and as she begins reading the words several more do as well. The Temperature in the room also begins to rise as a floating spark flickers into existence above the table, startling all four students, and begins to expand.

The fire alarms for the university library begin to sound as the demonic energies emanating from the building intensify as a fiery portal begins to open.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga was going by the library on his motorcycle. It was a lovely evening for a ride, really! And he was enjoying doing so in the New York streets rather than zipping around. Not to mention he was on the way back to his home away from home.

At least until he gets a call on his wrist watch of all things. Pulling over into a parking spot, he sighs, "Yes, Bill?"

"Hey, boss, we got fire alarms at the NYU. A library. But well... sat's showing something weird." The male voice says on the line. "You're also nearby."

Koga sighs, "I told you, do not call me boss. And fine, which building?"

Bill says, "Sending the map to your phone, boss."

Koga says, "That's it, you are--" Click and static comes from his watch, "-- driving to Arizona next week, all the way!" He blinks as he realizes he's talking to no one, then sighs, "... freaking stuck with that guy for three months..."

Checking his phone, he turns his motorcycle and maps out the GPS to his ear piece before heading that way.

Once he has to, he does move to park his motorcycle and head on foot to investigate.

Knox Kennedy has posed:
Having a relationship with Olympians has its upsides and downsides, often depending on the god in question. Demeter tends to be a motherly figure, and every once in awhile she sends a portent to Knox to compel him to be something he's not... a hero.

However, divine favors are hard debts to pay off, and the goddess is not someone to scorn. Thus, Knox finds himself on campus looking for the burning book from his vision.. Being in his late twenties, he doesn't look terribly out of place in his black sweater jacket and grey jeans. The purple eyes are easily written off as contacts.

He was already approaching the library when he felt the sensation of something otherworldly sweeps over him. Cursing under his breath, he kneels and reaches into his own shadow, casting from one of the campus street lamps. He writhes himself in a suit of black with an appropriate mask and starts running into the library. "Stupid kids... I'm too late."

Asa has posed:
Some say that the College years are the best years of your life. Certainly it's the years of your life that throws the best parties, and Asa is never one to turn down a coed party. It's Saturday night and Omega Phi Beta is hosting one hell of a pajama party that will go down in the history books. Nobody's really sure /who/ invited the demoness, but, really, nobody is complaining. She is, after all, quickly becoming the life of the party.

She's in the middle of making out with Mindy (or is it Cindy?) when the hairs of the back of her neck stand straight up. She breaks off the kiss, recognizing that feel. A summoning is happening. Thankfully nobody's summoning /her/ this time, but college kids aren't supposed to be dealing with this kind of power. This will only end in tragedy, something she can hopefully keep from happening.

"What's going on?" Cindy (or was it Mindy?) asks. Asa places a finger on her lips and says, distractedly, "Hold that thought" and she gets up and hurries to the door, slipping on her heels to go outside. "Where are you going?" The coed pouts. Asa turns and gives her a languid smile, "I'm going out to take care of a bit of business, but don't you worry. I'll be right back." She struts her way out the door, but once that door closes she's all business.

Her pajamas change into her nurse's uniform, and her feet lift off the cement, as she whisks her way to the library. "Hopefully they've at least got it contained in a circle," she mutters to herself. She quickly rushes past Knox, barely giving him a second glance, and lands at the door ready to go in.

Cinque Evers has posed:
Cinque is planning to leave the country soon, so he is trying to squeeze a lot of things into these last few days. One of them is checking out a bunch of books dealing with the various cities in Peru, and posting flyers around campus about Jamii Homeless Shelter Spring Craft Sale. Lucky for him that he is alumni and has the help of current fraternity brothers of the APA to help him pass out flyers .

After saying goodbye to his fraternity brothers, he is about to head back to his van for the last thing on his list which is to do some patrolling of the city. He normally doesn't use the shelter's vehicles to store his crimefighting gear, but he is really short on time tonight. When he touches the handle of the van, he hears the alarm. Cinque peers at his van and lets out a sigh as he thinks -oO0 "It is just a fire alarm. Don't need to waste time getting into costume to help people." 0Oo- Cinque runs off towards the direction of the library.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Inside the study room chaos erupts as the flaming portal grows in size.

"No fucking way!" Michael has flattened himself against one wall, only because he can't back up anymore. The brawny jock does not want any part of of this.

"Let's get out of here!" Shouts Walter, no longer eyerolling, this has gotten way too real for his taste.

"Yeah, I'm with you!" Kaka is not far behind him, bolting for the door.

Bernadette meanwhile has taken refuge in a corner behind an overturned desk.

Unfortunately for the pair running for the door, the exit is suddenly covered in hellfire seemingly erupting from nowhere.

That is of course until they turn to see Michelle, now floating a few feet above the ground, her outstretched hands glowing with a similar hellfire. "Yes! YES! I've never felt anything like this! Come forth! COME FORTH!" She screams as the portal widens and small fiery imp-like creatures begin to emerge. "Take them all just give me more!"

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga raises an eyebrow as he approaches, only to see... a nurse of some sort? And whatever the other guy was in that suit.

Looking around, he glances over at a window and frowns a little. That glow didn't look right. Following behind the two at a considerable distance, he keeps an eye on both as they enter.

Right now, he was just taking in everything as he tried to figure out what was going on. Fire alarm, so he was trying to see if there was smoke, and that glow came from the room that they seemed to be headed for.

Unfortunately, Koga wasn't armed in the technological sense. He was the weapon in most cases, and he was now making his way down the hall as quietly as he could. His boots barely made a sound as he listened and tried to figure it out.

The fact that it was a library made him think that perhaps this was going to be something not normal at all in the back of his mind, and well... he wasn't about to make the first move in this case. The only thing really hiding his identity at the moment was his motorcycle helmet, after all.

Knox Kennedy has posed:
"Dwellers of dark, tendrils of shadow, weave and bind the mind, conceal it from infernal forces, for is what not seen may not be enthralled." Knox mutters under his breath. The incantation draws upon his harmony to obfuscate his mind from the perception of demons.

Among his childhood lessons in sorcery, one of the most enforced was 'Do Not Be Possessed'. Knox had heard the story of more then one cultist waking up in odd locations having committed bizarre acts, not a few of them requiring a stomach pump to avoid unpleasant consequences. Knox had no intention of having this lesson enforced the hard way.

Suitably safeguarded and maybe not a moment too soon, he blinks at Asa as she rushes past. He hums and asks, "You aren't the one behind this. So... did someone summon you as backup? Or am I running into some kind of hellish turf war?"

At this point, Knox spies in the corner of his eye a door erupting in hellfire and the tell-tale rejoicing of someone experiencing a power rush. He swears and runs for the study room door. Suitably distracted, he doesn't notice the skulking Koga.

Reaching into a shadow cast by a nearby book stack in the illumination of the hellfire, he constructs a large inky pole with handles. Wielding it, he battering rams the door while yelling, "If any of you in there has real faith in something greater, now is the time to pray... out loud!" BAM. "Seriously, whatever flavor you've got." BAM. "Even better if you've got a holy symbol on you."

Asa has posed:
There seems to be others who are rushing /towards/ the danger and not /away/ from it like good sane humans would do. Asa lets out an aggravated sigh as she pushes the doors to the library open to let everybody in. "Careful, lovelies," she cautions. "It seems that there's a summoning happening. Hellfire, damnation, all that." Once everybody is through she beelines to the study room. "Let's go put a stop to that before anybody gets hurt."

She blinks in surprise as one of the ones she's letting in just *blinks* out of existence. She doesn't hear Knox's question because he's shielded himself against her. This could be a problem, she muses. She might have to defend herself against this one too.

She lifts her hands and with a flourish summons the Rod of Asclepius, the serpent entwined rod that's most recognizable in hospitals and ambulances everywhere. "I'll seal the room to contain the hellfire. My priority is to get whoever the poor idiots are who started this summoning out safe. "

Cinque Evers has posed:
As he runs towards the libary, his mind quickly processes a plethora of different variables that lead him to the conclusion that his odds for success in saving anyone from a fire would increase by 34.69 percent, if he actually dons his costume which actually has protection from fire. After this battle, Cinque will spend a great deal of mental energy making sure that he understands the difference between hellfire and regular fire, but for now he runs back to his van and dons all of his gear.

After a quick change of his gear, Oletha Ukufa quickly runs back to the library. Oletha Ukufu makes it back in time to get through the doors opened by Asa. Oletha Ukufa eyes widen behind his mask as his quickly process all the information of his surroundings which includes the other people who might be here to help, and the actual danger that is present. It doesn't take someone with a supermind to realize he might have feck up coming to help.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Screams can be heard from the study room as the fiery imp-like creatures emerging from the portal begin to set upon the coeds and attempt to drag them back through it, while the floating Michelle watches and cackles with laughter, "Yes! More!"

Meanwhile Hellfire has begun to ignite the room, spreading quickly through the space. It soon begins to burn through the walls with supernatural speed and if not contained will likely reduce the entire building and everyone within it to ashes.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga meanwhile didn't enter with the rest. He just stayed back, even moving whenever he noticed someone else coming in. He was just a curious bystander it seemed. And then he feels the heat from the walls.

The first sign that he's not normal is whenever there's a burst of mystic energies to those with more attuned senses, and the appearance of something around his waist. That quickly seems to cover him in a black and gold substance before that substance seems to grow quickly.

If they weren't seeing the demons in front of them, they might even mistake the new form for a demon as a monsterous looking samurai pushes the door open and walks in. Instead of being quiet about it, the monster being gives a growl, then a roar, "What is going on in here!?"

Note this is coming from a seven foot tall, might as well be demon monster looking samurai figure as well. And it doesn't look happy.

Knox Kennedy has posed:
At first, Knox thinks Asa is just a very rude demon for not responding to his questions. While the hellflame licks at his battering ram, it finally *clicks* that his spell might have been a little too effective on the potential ally. While he may not be within her perception, his actions are. With another swing of the ram, he breaks open the study room door in a shower of hellflame and splintered wood.

Tossing the ram away, he reaches through the door way and grabs fist fulls of Walter's and Kaka's clothes. Tugging with peak human strength, he launches the pair toward the library exit. "Run. We'll take care of your friends."

Looking back into the study room which surges will hell flame, he curses. That's a lot of light. Not exactly his preferred environment. Looking into the current room of the library, he tosses darts of solid umbra shattering overhead lights. Soon provided with more darkness to work with, he delves into the shadows of the stacks once more. Summoning tendrils of solid umbra, he directs them into the burning room and flattens them to smother or dampen flame to create pathways. He calls out, "Hurry! Out of the room. Now!"

At this point, he's interrupted by a roaring monster behind him. He gawks, "What the hell are you?!"

Asa has posed:
Asa trusts her barrier will hold against the Hellfire keeping it contained to only that room. But now it's time to do something about the people inside of it. She lifts up the rod and a flash of lavender surrounds her protecting her against the hellfire as well. She turns to Cinque, and waves the rod like a fairy grandmother would her wand and taps it against the only other person she can see, Cinque, protecting him against the hellfire as well.

"There," she says, nodding in satisfaction. "Now, let's get in there before somebody is dragged kicking and screaming into Hell." When the door suddenly opens, she starts in surprise, having been reaching out to open it herself. Her eyes flick from the imps to the coeds to Michelle floating in the air drunk on power.

She leaps into the room and grabs onto one of the coeds before they're dragged into the portal fully. She kicks at the imp doing the dragging in the head with a heel, and hurries them out of the room, through the magical barrier that's keeping the flames from spreading too far.

Cinque Evers has posed:
Realizing that Asa has a better grasp of the situation when she waves her rod around, he quickly follows his lead. He is also suprised when the door suddly opens and he takes quick moment to scan the room. Oletha bites his lips as he thinks too himself that this is way too many unknown variables. "Feck! Feck!" The only thing that he is certain of in this situation is that people need help, so he pulls out his Bowie knife and goes after the nearest imp. At the same time he launches himself at one of the imps, he realize this is not one of the memories he wants to keep forever. The hellish smell alone is going to be enough to keep him up at night.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
As Walter and Kaka are torn from the clutches of the imps, the creatures spring forward to attack Knox with fiery claws extended. The small creatures hiss and slash but are ultimately only minor demons though more than enough for most humans. The hellfire is not so easily thwarted though rendering almost everything that comes in contact with it to ash with frightening speed, though Asa's barrier seems to be containing it from reaching the larger library for the moment.

Bernadette is quite grateful for Asa's arrival as she is saved from being dragged into the portal. The imp that was accosting her is sent spinning through it instead by Asa's kick.

That just leaves Michael pressed up against the wall as the linebacker struggles with his own imp that hasn't quite successfully managed to drag him off yet. He may be the most scared of the group but at the same time that fear seems to be granting him a manic strength as he struggles for his life. Luckily for him, Cinque and his Bowie knife arrive to turn the tables on his imp.

"No no no, what's this?! I need more! Stop interfering!" Michelle hurls a blast of Hellfire at Asa and begins shouting something in what should be a dead language that she has seemingly somehow reconstructed, no wonder she's in Phi Beta Kappa. As the words of the dead language carry through the air though the portal pulses and begins expanding again as even greater malevolent energy washes over the area as a massive red clawed hand reaches out of the portal, gripping one side, followed by another gripping the other as something BIG begins pulling itself through.

By this point people are screaming and fleeing from the library, not just due to the flames but the appearances of some of the seeming saviors as well. Amidst this crowd appears, moving in the opposite direction of everyone else towards the Hellfire filled room, is a tall blonde scandinavian looking woman built like a valkyrie and dressed in leather. Though most of the fleeing crowd barely seems to notice her. "Fuck, I'm late." The stranger curses under her breath.

Knox Kennedy has posed:
Knox's solid chunks of umbra do not weather the onslaught of hellfire well. The inky blackness is quickly consumed by the infernal light bursting into small motes of magic before vanishing completely. As a result, the scion of Nyx finds himself ineffective assisting with the remaining victims inside the wreathed room. Fortunately, there are others to assist with that problem.

As for the Imps, Knox is no mere mortal! He's of divine patronage and something arguable more scary then many of the denizens of hell. The solid umbra of his suit repels the slashing claws then manifest spikes which are promptly rammed through the hellish creature's torsos.

In a brief moment of respite, he draws at the spellweave of his previous act of sorcery and unshields his mind popping back into existence for Asa deciding its better for his unexpected ally to be aware of his presence. "I rescued two... I don't think I'm going to be very helpful beyond that while those fires burn."

He turns toward Koga once more and yells over the commotion, "DEMONS! So make like Raiko and start slaying."

Next, he eyes the valkyrie as she emerges from the commotion uttering profanities. He tilts his head, "Well no one is dead... yet. So maybe not too late. You wouldn't happen to have a devil slaying bazooka under all that leather would you?" He frowns behind his mask as the large creatures continues to emerge. "Because... uh.. We need one."

Koga Miura has posed:
Well, seeing fire and brimstone everywhere, Koga does know one thing. Something big is coming, and he doesn't want to deal with it. So, he does the smart thing. Head for the one apparently causing all this, he slides to a stop as he notices said person is flying and there's a portal in the way.

Then he looks at the portal. "Huh... so... dimensional portal... anyone mind telling what this is before I try to kill it?"

His voice is a growling tone, almost like an echo to it as he looks between the ones dealing with the imps, and the one he hopefully just punched.

Of course, the fact that he's having to ask? That might clue someone in that he's never seen a portal to hell before, let alone dealt with whatever is coming through.

Deciding to not wait, however, he pulls out a sword that grows from his hip seemingly near-instantly and tries to hack at a hand with a yell.

Asa has posed:
Asa's priority has always been putting the wellbeing of others first, so she rushes over to Michael to lend him a hand. The Nurse summons scalpels with a wave of a hand, held in the air by eldritch energies, and then with a grand sweep of a hand, sends them flying at the imp to impale it. "Go on," she calls out to him, "Get to the door, the way is clear!"

Once she's sure that he's safely outside the hellfire zone, she turns once more to the scene at hand. She puts her hands on her hips as she considers the big guy coming through the portal. There really isn't that much she can do about it. She may have immense power at her tap, but most of it is used for protection, healing. Not combat, though she /can/ hold her own in a pinch.

She turns to Koga to answer his question. "It's a portal to Hell," she tells him. "Big guy is a demon, and should probably stay there." She starts when Knox pops back into existence for her and she throws a sly grin at him. "Nice trick there. I'll deal with the fire, see if you can't get around the demon to stop Little Miss Summoner from doing the summons. She doesn't have a proper circle so whoever is coming through will just rampage around." She shakes her head disapprovingly, "Amateur."

She waves her rod at the hellfire, concentrating. This is a little out of her wheelhouse but it's worth a shot, and tries summoning a downpour within the room to help dampen the fires before her barrier can no longer contain them.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Michael does not need to be told twice and once Cinque and Asa have dispatched the imp he was struggling with, he goes barreling through the doorway to safety almost running into the tall scandinavian woman on his way out.

Koga's blade slices into one of the fingers drawing blood and there is a gutteral roar of annoyance from the portal as a head pulls through, then a leg and finally the massive scarlet demonic creature emerges fully into the room. The monster stands easily ten feet tall, its horns scraping the ceiling causing bits of plaster to rain down. Massive leathery batwings furl behind it as eyes of Hellfire turn to regard Koga.

<I was promised four souls? Instead I am attacked on arrival?!> The sounds the creature makes transcend language and yet their meaning ressonates within the minds of listeners regardless.

"Take them! They're ruining everything!" Michelle screeches, pointing a finger at the unexpected interlopers and hurling a blast of Hellfire at Cinque as he helps Michael escape.

The demon bristles, this was not part of the pact, but all the same it glares at Koga and his blade. <Impudent welp!> A massive hand with fiery ichor dripping claws goes straight for Koga attempt to rend him to pieces.

Hope glances at Knox looking almost faintly amused at the question of a demon slaying bazooka. "Not quite." She replies though as she holds out her hand a powerful looking long sword with some sort of skull hilt and a six pointed crossguard appears in her hand glowing with orange energy. "But it shouldn't be a problem." And seemingly oblivious to the Hellfire, which actually seems to flow around her and make way instead of burning her, she steps into the room.

Knox Kennedy has posed:
Knox nods to Asa as she describes a plan. He squints at the room and starts trying to gauge his options. "Uh, easier said then done."

Turning to face Hope, he whistles as the mystical longsword manifests in all its majesty. "That looks like it'll do the trick. If you can help the samurai, I'll handle the girl."

Wait, what did he just offer to do? Did he really just agree to Asa's plan?

He hesitates then swears under his breath, "Shit... Shit... Shit." He starts running toward the room in an all out sprint. As he runs, his physical form begins to peel away in ribbons of darkness. As he draws closer to the burning room, his body decomposes into a mass of darkness. It makes a ninety degree turn upwards slithering up the wall and along the ceiling. As the hellish light of the room bathes the shadowy form, it begins to remold into a silhouette gradually becoming more tangible.

Finally, Knox's normal form remerges as the animated darkness dissipates. Fortunately for him, it had provided enough mobility navigate around the demon, the portal and to position him above Michelle. He performs the classic flying dropkick made popular by the likes of Earth's mightiest heroes. Maybe he'll KO the summoner or maybe he'll die horribly in a wash of hellfire. He's kind of hoping the Night Nurse prevents the latter. Either way, he's looking kinda cool doing it.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga looks upwards at the demon. Staring. It's a big demon. And actually dwarfs him. "Wow. You are a big one."

He dives forward rather than backwards to avoid the claws, and hopefully the ichor. Some probably gets on him somewhere. He doesn't have time to think on that one.

Instead, he comes up swinging as he tries to take out a leg hopefully. It's obvious this thing probably can out muscle him, and that has Koga using what he can as far as agility, but it's only normal human agility. If this thing speeds up or anything, he knows he can't exactly keep at it long. And also realizing that for once, a sword isn't going to work, he moves to put the weapon away and grow a set of curved claws on his feet and hands.

"Listen, I do not care if you have some deal or not. You are not getting any souls while I am around. So go back in that portal or I will seriously be forcing you back in there." The monster samurai says towards the demon.

Asa has posed:
Asa continues to pour mystical rain down on the hellfire, hoping to put it out before it could do more damage than it already has. Then several things catches her attention.

One: That sword. She knows that sword that the Scandinavian woman is wielding. "That's Apocalypse." She sounds almost awed by it. "That must mean you're..." she sizes up Hope and a devilish smile quirks her lips. "Not bad... not bad. We'll have to do a /proper/ introduction once we're done here.'

Two: The demon. She knows that demon. Once she gets a good look at him her brows knit together. "Ashmedai, is that you?" Then a throaty laugh escapes her, "Oh, sweetheart. It's not like you to get caught by a rank amateur like this. No wonder you're so upset!"

Cinque Evers has posed:
After Asa finished off the imp, Oletha put his knife away and quickdraws his pistols. When he realizes he is being served up as a sacrifice, he tries to make light of the situation, "Believe me, you don't want my soul. It is way too mundane. I am sure that has to do something with flavor or value." Oletha crosses his hands over his face as he tries to dodge the hellfire attack, hoping Asa's spell, and his costume's fire protection will save him from harm. "Feck! Feck!"

Hope Svelgate has posed:
The war between the deluge of magical rain and the Hellfire continues, at the very least the fire isn't spreading but it even seems that it is every so slowly being driven back.

The valkyrie looking woman shoots Asa a look as if to say 'not another word', intending it would seem to keep her true nature secret. "This isn't as much the work of amateurs as it seems. This is at least the fourth or fifth similar situation in the past few months. Someone is passing out powerful demonological tomes to those stupid enough to try and use them." Her gaze shifts to the demon. "Leave." She commands it, "Before I send you back in very small pieces."

Even as all of this is happening, there is a scream from the back of the room as Knox's dropkick connects solidly with Michelle's face, sending her flying into the wall and falling to the floor. As she falls unconcious, the portal too begins to lose cohesion.

<You would command me?!> The demon bellows before its eyes find Hope's sword the same way that Asa's did and it pauses as if in disbelief before lifting its hands to unleash the greatest blast of Hellfire it is capable of straight at Hope. <Usurper!> It roars in pain again as Koga's new claws rake across its body causing black ichorous blood to drip out that sizzles when it hits the floor.

Hope brings her sword up in front of her like a shield, parting the flames around her even as the blade seems to begin absorbing some of them. "Push it back through the portal before it collapses!" She calls to the others.

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga looks over at the apparent valkyrie and demoness, "I hope you two know what you are doing."

Then he starts to punch at the demon. Boxing style punches at the most, watching for the demon's arms or any actions that might be dangerous. The claws dig in with each punch as he tries to force the demon back and into the portal, solid, harsh punches that have a bit of superhuman strength behind them. He's no Thing or Superman, but he can still easily crack brick walls with the punches. Let alone a follow up kick with enough force to take a good chunk out of said brick walls. The claws on his hands and feet only make him more deadly with those, even if they don't have the same cutting power as his sword.

Still, Koga tries his best to drive the demon back and into the portal with his strength and armored body. It's not the best solution he has, but he's definitely going to do his best to drive it back where it came from.

Asa has posed:
Asa continues to pour on the rain, ever so slowly beating back the hellfire, but she seems to be winning the battle. She watches as Michelle is knocked unconscious, frowning slightly, but doesn't move to see if she's okay. After all, it seems to be nothing more severe than a concussion.

She's not one for physical strength, so she leaves battering the demon to Koga and Cinque. "Hurry up over there," she says. "When that portal closes we want little Ashy to be on that side of it."

Cinque Evers has posed:
Is eternally grateful that he survived being engulfed by that hellfire attack;however, in the back of his mind he is not sure he is going to be happy with always remembering that just occurred. Oletha slowly eyes the exit, pondering that perhaps he needs to cut his losses and leave this madness to more capable hands. Oletha mumbles to himself, "This is not what I do." A soft sigh escapes his lips as a respectful gaze turns towards the mystical samurai, the magical nurse, and the tall biker with a sword.

Oletha recalls an old African proverb, "There is no heroic act when a gian kills a dwarf. I guess I need to try to kill a giant." When Asa calls for them to hurry up, Cinque quickly focus on the task at hand. Cinque doesn't have physical or mystical powers that would harm the demon, but he does have concussive bombs. CInque loops off the bombs together and launches them in the direction of the demon that is not be attacked by Koga.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Thankfully this particular demon is not one of the strongest that Hell has to offer and it wasn't allowed to feed on any souls when it arrived, though it is still far from weak. Koga's concentrated blows backed up by the magic in his armor do manage to start driving the creature back. It helps that the demon was so intent on attacking Hope that he didn't really start defending against Koga's attacks until he was already slightly off balance on his back foot. Then from behind a cluster of concussion bombs come flying into the thing's chest sending it still further back.

Cinque's attack leaves the demon just in front of the mouth of the collapsing portal, perfectly positioned for what follows. Hope steps forward, her blade crackling with absorbed hellfire and chaos energy. "My turn." She says swinging Apocalypse forth towards the demon, the sword emits a powerful blast of mystical force catching the monster square in the chest and lifting it off its feet thrusting it back through the portal.

There is a final sparking and stuttering of the flaming portal before, without a mystical will sustaining it, it collapses it on itself and the group of rescuers are left in the burnt out waterlogged study room with the unconcious Michelle. In the distance sirens can be heard as first responders race to the scene.

Asa has posed:
With the fires out and the demon gone, Asa, true to her nature, goes to check up on Michelle, laying hand on her head to assess the extent of the damage. "She's mildly concussed," she announces, "But should be waking up soon. She'll have one /hell/ of a headache once she regains consciousness. Serves her right."

She sighs and gets to her feet, dusting soot off of her uniform and turns to Hope. "And you..." she slinkily walks up to the woman, her voice low and purring, "We'll have to meet again." She leans over and whispers, "Feel free to summon me /anytime/."

At the sound of the sirens she strides her way out of the room, putting a little extra hip in her stride. "That's my queue to exit. I have a pajama party to get back to." With a raised hand she bids them goodbye. "Ta!"

Koga Miura has posed:
The monster samurai steps back at the concussive bombs, shielding his face before turning to look at those left once the portal is closed.

Looking at the demoness, then to Hope, it growls a little. "Much as I would like to stay as well, I believe exitting is a good idea."

He looks at Hope, "I sincerely would like to meet again, if nothing else to find out what this is about and if I can help somehow."

He turns and heads off, deciding a window might be a good idea after checking for police, and just leaps out of it. Uncaring if it shatters or anything else. It could be fire caused, after all, and heading for who knows where.
