Kaida Connolly has posed:
The Royal Dragon Restaurant was something of a local favorite. People loved to come there for quick take out, to sit down and eat and even just to enjoy the atmosphere. It's sort of a not so secret, secret. Now, however, there appears to be a problem with the restaurant. Not one that anyone is aware of yet but it is there. An issue that likely won't be easily solved and they don't even know it yet.

"Wow...that's a lot of food." The little mouse girl in the back says as she looks at the pile of take out orders getting ready to be picked up and considers various scents coming off of them. She could aruge she doesn't eat much...if that wasn't a horrible lie...but she could argue it based on size! Right? Still, she's hungry, a long way from home by size standards and will need the fuel.

Meanwhile, the restaurant hustles and bustles about with people being sat down, some coming by to pick up orders and none so far noticing the cloak wearing mouse person kneeling behind a box and looking for the best opportunity and option to snatch from.

Roland Livingston has posed:
As he enters the restaurant Roland takes a long look around and greets the person at the host stand with a smile, "Good afternoon. I'll be dining at the bar today." Then he goes to make good on his statement, heading for the counter and an empty stool. Taking a seat he smiles to the bartender and picks up a menu, scanning it to see what sort of delights are available.

He doesn't spend a terribly long amount of time looking over the food before the bartender approaches to get his drink order. "I'll have a Tsingtao, please," the young guy says in an upper class English accent. Soon the beer is brought forth for him to drink.

"What to get, what to get?" He asks himself quietly.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman has the day off from his main job, and the company as well. He had heard a few people talking about the food here, so decided to check it out. He comes to the place, and steps inside not removing his sunglasses. He scans about the place, and since he is alone will eat at the bar as well, to leave tables for larger gatherings

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Watching new people come in, Kaida has to slip back a moment, watching them pass, she sniffs the air a little, tilting her head as she watches, seeming to zero in on Roland a little and peering over him briefly before she spots the hostess walking away to go greet someone and she zips out, snatching up a smallish bag and then she hefts the bag (easily twice her size) and leaps down, rushing under an unoccupied table and hten she zips to the side of the bar.

"Dinner is served!" She states to no one in particular and likely isn't easily heard given her sizes as she pops open the bag that now sits behind a stool as if someone simply left hteir trash there and she starts to figure out what is inside, "Oh...sweet and sour..." She grins and uses her sword to carve off a chunk of the top of the box and use it as a plate.

Roland Livingston has posed:
The impressively large fellow arriving at the bar is given a polite nod and a friendly "Good afternoon" by Roland after the Englishman scans the newcomer. Then it comes time to place his order with the bartender, "I'd like to start with the fried dumplings, a cup of egg drop soup and kung pao shrimp as my entree, please." Once that's complete he has a drink from his beer, enjoying the taste until he seems to catch movement out of the corner of his eye. Hard to tell exactly, what it was, but he does begin looking around to try to place it.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman will order a soda, and after a look at the menu starts with pu pu platter, and then a beef and broccoli combo. He nods back to Roland friendly enough as he notices the other looking over, and while he did not catch the movement, he does see Roland looking and looks in that direction as well.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
After taking a bite, she hears the orders of the two men at the bar and then blinks and sighs, "A drink..." She sighs and shakes her head, "Nobody ever makes cups in my size. So not thoughtful." She pulls out her own makeshift cup and peers at it, sighing before she considers what was said and scrambles up the side of the bar, peeking a cloaked head up over the side and staring down the bar toward Roland and Robert before looking at the fountain. Soda is always best with hearty foods.

"Hmm." The small voice lets out and then she quietly slips up to behind a bowl of peanuts and pulls out a small bell, using a tiny hand to hold the inside through a slit in order ot keep it quiet. She then carefully holds it up and throws.

"Huh?" The bartender turns his head in the direction of a jingling bell that flies through the air, hits the ground and rolls. Then a tiny white and green blur zips out and presses on a lever for but a moment, getting soda on her hands a little but enough into her little cup before she slaps something over the top of the cup and races off the side of the bar.

Roland Livingston has posed:
The bell, the sudden fast movement, the rush of liquid from the soda machine. Roland does his best to track the goings on before his eyes seem to settle on the creature filling its cup with soda before dashing off. "That's quite odd," says the young man with a frown, raising his eyebrows in surprise. "What was that? One of those New York Pizza Rats I've heard stories of? It seems to me as if they're learning quickly."

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman follows the mouse girl's movements, and studies her for a moment, even letting his vision cycle through different types of vision, making sure she is real and not a machine or something of the lot. "No, not a typical new york rodent. I believe that is a young lady, who can or has shape shifted, and perhaps shrunk.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
She's fast, it's somewhat hard to keep up to a degree. A regular mouse is often a little quick thing that's hard to snag. This one moves with an incredible alacrity. Of course, as quick as she was there, she's gone back to her hiding spot and happily putting down her cup and taking a bite of her food, casually tearing chunks of chicken and dipping them in the sweet & sour sauce she's aquired before picking up the soda and taking a sip, "Worst part about this is nobody to come by and give refills." She smirks and idly eats. For now, if she was spotted she isn't sure and isn't sure she cares as no one seems to be screaming.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Shape shifting?" Roland asks the other fellow at the bar. "Sargento's Squirrel Self could do that. Or a similar spell," he states as he tries to figure out where the tiny figure has gone to. "Excuse me, small woman?" he asks clearly, with confidence in his voice. "I'd very much like to speak to you." He takes a swig of beer before standing up, trying to get a better around. "I won't hurt you, I'm merely curious. I'll pay you for your time if you'll consult with me."

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman will motion towards the direction the girl went. He can see through objects which makes it a bit easier to keep track of the girl. He does not add anything to the conversation for now, watching and wondering where this may go.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A blink as an ear flicks and she hears a voice calling out to a small woman. Well, he could be speaking to a short girl somewhere perhaps but...she supposes there's a possiblity that he is talking to her. Most don't want to speak to her, they want to throw stuff at her, run her off, stomp on her, or the like. She highly doubts the restaurant is keen on having her hear. She squints at her food and then up. Just in case she doesn't get more, she picks up a large piece of chicken and dunks it in the sauce before devouring it with incredible speed. Then, she slips around the bar and peers up toward Roland, eyeing him carefully.

"What ya want?" She asks and puts on her own best English accent as she then flips up on to a stool next to him and points at him, "No tricks. I am small but I can take ya!" She nods her head and pats the hilt of her small blade, "I don't want trouble."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"I'm most definitely not interested in a violent confrontation in the midst of my lunch," Roland replies to the young lady as he resumes his seat. He studies the figure and has another pull from his beer. "What is your consulting fee? I'm a scholar of the arcane and I, of course, have to wonder how you came to be so unique, but I don't expect you to tell me for free."

The sword is given a glance, the Englishman quietly considering it for a moment. "And, I won't pay you for this, but if you'd like to discuss sword fighting you're in fine company. I'm quite skilled with a blade."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A squint at him and then the bartender notices her and lets out a gasp, "Oh...wait...what?" He looks at the girl mouse thing and then at Roland and then at the mouse. He then looks to the people around, few being at the bar at the moment and then he looks to ROland again, as if asking for his opinion on this. Kaida eyes the bartender briefly before looking then to Roland again, "Umm...consulting fee about how I got to be..." She considers and then she looks to the side and then points at him, "Fifty dollars." She nods her head, "Twenty up front." She nods her head and stands up taller, "That and some steamed white rice." She nods.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Don't worry about her, she's another customer. One order of white rice for her, please," Roland says to the bartender to with a smile as he reaches into his pocket for a sleek, fancy wallet. A couple of bills are drawn out, a twenty for each of the people he's talking with. Then his attention focuses on the girl mouse. "My name is Roland Livingston. How do you do?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A look over at the bartender again and then she reaches out and takes the offered twenty, quickly rolling it up like a scroll and then sliding it into her pack before she nods to him and sniffs a little, "I am Kaida." She states and tehn she tilts her head, "Livingston? Are you a doctor?" She asks and plops down on to the stool to wait for her rice and watch him carefully.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"No, not a doctor," Roland chuckles at the question and smiles at the bartender as his food arrives. Before he starts working on it he asks, "So, how did you come to be as you are? Some manner of enchantment, perhaps?" Then he begins to eat, chewing and swallowing carefully before asking, "Is your condition something you've got direct control over yourself? How long can you stay as you are?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Eying him, she continues to be suspicious of these odd questions but she got paid so she shakes her head, "I don't control it and I don't know. I was in a lab accident that involved experiments on a strange but intelligent mouse and now here I am." She gestures at herself, "Not a mouse but kinda like one and the creature is gone." She shrugs her shoulders and looks at him, "Why do you care?" She asks and tilts her head, "Most people are just freaked out by a talking mouse."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"You're not the first strangely shaped being I've encountered and I doubt you'll be the last," Roland offers with a smile. "I'm a professional scholar of the mystical. My family has been studying the arcane since the middle ages and I take any opportunity I can to learn more about it, though it sounds as though your current state has to do more with science." He considers the young woman, "Still, your predicament seems quite interesting."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Wouldn't be as interesting to you if you were a mouse." She nods her head and points at him before she shakes her head, "And I'm not sure it is purely science. That mouse thing the scientists were working on was intelligent and..." She shakes her head, "It was an odd thing." She shrugs, "But yes, they were experimenting on various biological functions and biochemical properties involving mice and that mouse in particular." She nods to him, "Can't be sure right now but that's something I'm working on."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Very intriguing," Roland states plainly enough. "I'd love to learn everything you know. What and where the lab is, for instance. Anything you can tell me about the mouse thing. It could have been some sort of mystical beast I've yet to encounter. May explain why you were changed as drastically as you were. How long did the transformation take?" Then he seems to think of something, "Should I come across an enchanter skilled in the transformative arts would you like me to give them your information so that you could consult with them?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"First, sure, I can give you the address but there's nothing left." She nods her head and will write it down if given the chance but then she shifts slightly, "I really didn't believe much in magic even with what I had heard until I met this thing." She nods her head, "As for the time? I don't know. I woke up like this after the accident." She nods her head, "And yes, if you find someone, I'd love to speak to them but...I mean." She shrugs, "I don't hold out a lot of hope for an easy fix."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"I might be able to trace financial records and the like to see who was using the building," Roland explains as he watches the woman write. "It's rarely an easy fix, even with powerful magic. Permanent transformations are difficult and dangerous, but as I'm not a practitioner myself I can't do more than offer information and attempt to put you in touch with the right people." There's a little pause, "You seem quite sneaky, and from me that's a compliment. Could I pay you to perform reconnaissance on locations at some time in the future? I've got a few enemies who've stolen from me and I need to retrieve my property. If I were to find them could you analyze their defenses, at least the more mundane ones, and report back to me? There's a degree of danger involved, but I would be on standby in case you got into trouble."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A nod and she shrugs, "Well, whatever you want to find. I worked for them for a little while as an intern." She nods her head before taking a breath and tilting her head at him, "I mean, as long as it isn't bad stuff." She points at him, "I'm a hero, ya know. I don't help villains and if you turn out to be evil I'll take you down." She nods again before waggling her finger and then smiling wide as the rice arrives, "Oh oh! Put that here." She points to in front of her, "People rarely order just plain white rice like this. Usually it's always fried rice."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"I'm fairly certain we'll get along, then. I pride myself on not being an evildoer," Roland tells his new acquaintance with a faint smile. "I like white rice as a side with many dishes, or with a good curry served over it. So far the food here is quite impressive, different from what finds in China, of course, but still quite tasty."

He then goes on, "As a hero have you any experience with dealing with the supernatural? I'm not sure how sensitive you are to sounds and such, but I imagine with your ears you probably hear better than I do."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"I can hear a lot and smell a lot, too." She nods her head and then shifts slightly, "Like I know you have a gun or at least are around one quite often." She then takes up some rice and chows down it before looking up to him, "I recently ran into a bunch of costumes of villains moving without the villains." She shrugs, "Not sure how supernatural that is." She nods and then picks up more rice and idly eats, "It was really weird."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Yes, I'm growing quite skilled with firearms. Didn't really have them growing up," Roland says with a shrug of his shoulders. "Costumes without villains acting on their own? That certainly is strange. I suppose it could be replicated with technology, though I don't know how likely that is." He smiles, "I have a feeling that you and I will have a strong working relationship, Kaida." He reaches into his leather jacket and pulls out a business card holder, gets a card and offers it over before replacing the case. Then he moves to reach for his wallet again to pull out another three twenties, placing them next to Kaida.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Taking the card, she carefully folds it up before she looks at the money and then up at him, "That's more than we agreed on but I'm not gonna argue." She then proceeds to roll them all up together and puts it all away. A moment later she looks at the rice and tehn suddenly becomes a bit of a blur, moving at incredible speed as she chows down on the rice, taking down the whole bowl in a very short time and...with little logic as to where all that food went given her size and the bowl size. She then pats her belly and grins, "Well, with that done, I should get going."

Roland Livingston has posed:
"It was good meeting you, Kaida," Roland tells the young woman with a nod. "I appreciate you answering my questions." There's a grin then, "And I'm looking forward to working with you in the future." He returns to his own food, eating carefully and washing every few bites down with beer. Once his drink's finished he gets water instead.
