Date of Scene: 28 May 2021
Location: L'anatroccolo Assonnato Hotel - Rome
Synopsis: Happy Harbor students and faculty make it to Rome in one piece and they surprise Nick!
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Irie West, Greg Rollins, Roy Harper, Michael Hannigan, Joseph Gardner

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Students and Faculty of Happy Harbor had boarded a flight bound to Rome, Italy for their end of the school year trip. Kids probably didn't want to be up at the crack of dawn for the flight, but they would live! Morrigan's definitely not someone who wants to be out during the day and it was already bright and sunny. Muggy. Ugh. So they all were flying out at two in the morning. Because who needed sleep?! The flight hadn't been bad. They had layovers and things of that nature. This would put them in Rome around eight in the morning. Not to mention they could either sleep or go get food immediately after being dropped off at their hotel.

And speaking of the hotel, a little birdy had told Morrigan of things and suggested the L'anatroccolo Assonnato Hotel in Rome. The staff is a little overwhelmed when the students and teachers start heading into the hotel around nine thirty. Oh boy, the Americans had landed.

Irie West has posed:
Irie initially wanted to just run here, but Wally insisted that she be with her classmates and come the slow way. On an airplane. Trapped in a claustrophobic metal canister 35,000 feet up in the air with nowhere to run if something were to happen, leaving her a bundle of nerves. This makes Irie very annoying to be near during the long flight. She can't help but constantly fidget, and tries to keep her knee bouncing to a minimum of human levels of bounce. Sure she tries to relax but nothing keeps her interest for more than a minute at a time.

Once they're on the ground and out of the airport, Irie sneaks off for a few minutes to stretch her legs. And by stretch her legs we mean run at full speed around the town to try to bleed off all that excess energy that had accumulated during the flight. She's back after a couple of minutes, having explored a good chunk city and is all smiles now.

"Hi," she announces. "I'm good now. I'm not looking forward to the ride back but now that we're here I can sit back and relax!"

Greg Rollins has posed:
Already having slightly weird sleeping patterns because he was still getting used to Earth days and nights, Greg was mostly awake. Mostly. Apparently his planet had longer days just by a couple of hours or so.

That being said, he was also passed out. The fact that he had no mental shields and could hear at least as a whisper on most people was a bit annoying. All that excitement had left him down and out pretty much for the entire flight, meaning he was one of the few kids that was probably not about to cause a bit of trouble anywhere.

That, and he seemed kinda loopy from all the positive emotions he was sensing and really happy about it. A big old smile on his face, and very much looking for the world like he himself is enjoying it. No troubles, no worries, and he's just mostly being a normal if overly joyful kid that has a slightly different skin color than most.

Roy Harper has posed:
Baseball cap? Check.

Jorts? Check.

Fanny pack? Check.

Roy Harper was ready for relaxation, sliding on a pair of shades as he checks out the lobby, having already hauled his luggage up the back stairs himself double time. Gotta get the cardio in, get a light sweat goin' before he starts hunting for babes. The European girls enjoy a light glisten.

He wears an A-line tank top in baby blue and high top sneakers that he bought off of a guy on 57th street who told him they were perfect dupes of 2017 Lebrons. He only barely made the trip, as a recent spate of absences took a shot at the old GPA, but, hey, he still passed technically and technically is the only way that counts.

"Bonsoir, Italy!" he says.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
As the field trip group is wandering inwards, Nick is heading the opposite direction.
Unlike the rough appearances that he's been showing when heading into the hotel to sleep off the business of the day, Nick seems much better rested now that he's had some sleep. Hair pulled back and sunglasses over the eyes, the casually dressed musician is sporting an oblong case slung across his back. In his mouth, a slice of toast while one hand is managing a to go cup of coffee and the other is moving away from his pocket to grab at the toast. Emerging from the hallway that the bank of elevators are hidden at he starts for the main lobby door. Breakfast, early practice, cut off earlier today, and barring any more dream realm chaos or teleporting cat shape shifters, be well rested for the concert tomorrow night.

Or at least that's the plan.

Upon seeing the familiar faces filtering into the lobby, the musician's pace falters. The newly freed mouth takes advantage of the toast taking by lowering the jaw slightly while a brow appears over the frame of the sunglasses.

Despite what one would think. The Liaison between Shaw Studios and Happy Harbor is not part of the field trip group. Nope. As part of the promotional trips for his newest album, he's been at this hotel for days now preparing for an event. Now, he had heard of some type of trip for the school but- what were the odds they'd be picking the same place?

Whatever bird told Morrigan of L'anatroccolo Assonnato... it certainly wasn't this one.

"Morrigan?"

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Jseph Gardner. enters the hotel, several pieces of luggage in hand and under arms and a very large package with several shipping stamps affixed. He turned n his Hawkman guise for a polo shirt and slacks. Pale blue eyes sparkle a little as he gets his room card. He's been sifting through memories of a past life as a gladiator and reconciling the old with the new. He smiles at the high school class getting their rooms and luggage straightened out as he piles his gear and cases on a cart to be taken to his room.

Nick Drago... he just rescued Nick Drago a few days ago from the Gentleman Ghost. Joseph doesn't want to blow his secret identity this early in the game. He resolves to get away from Drago and quickly as he slips on his aviator shades and moves through the crowd towards the elevator. Dang. The big man moves through the crowd trying not to push or shove.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's had her injections so she's not hiding from the sun entirely, though she does look like some dame from the 40's wearing a black hat and shades to stave off some of the sunlight that Rome is currently baking in. She's dutifully making sure there are no stragglers. There is a gopro in her hands and she's chattering at Duncan as they walk. Then she sees a familiar face and the red head smiles, "Roy, I'm glad to see you back around. Is AJ with you?" she asks him.

Then she spies a Nick and the tiny camera points towards the man, "Nick! Fancy seeing you here." the Irish woman waves as she makes her way over to him.

Irie West has posed:
As Irie chatters away with her classmates she spies a familiar face in the lobby. She excitedly runs up to him calling out, "HI MR. DRAGO! I didn't know you were part of the field trip. I think Dr. Pym would've said something about it. I'm surprised that he's not here with you, since you're together and everything."

Before Nick can reply, Irie fades back into the crowd and wanders up to Roy. "Hi! I'm Irie! Haven't seen you in school before. Are you new here! Pretty cool that you got to go on the field trip so far. Rome is really cool! Can't wait to see it all again!"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper winces a little at Morrigan's question, "Ah. Gosh, teach, uh...well, no, we're sort of...not really...close anymore, so I'm just runnin' solo. Over here. And back at home. But that's okay. I am young, hung and full of..."

He looks at Morrigan for a moment and catches himself in time.

"Enthusiasm about this great trip you've brought us on! Are going going to go into the catacombs? I hear there might be zombies," he says, then greets Irie as she approaches, "Roy Harper. Oh, you've been here before? Cool," he says. Reminds himself to see if Irie knows where they can find booze around here.

Greg Rollins has posed:
Greg happens to wander over to Morrigan about then, "Hello, Ms. Morrigan! Thank you for bringing me on this trip. Um, are there any interesting sights and can we uh..." He looks unsure how to explain things. They did say they were supposed to be secret, after all!

Fitting in with Earth seems to be a bit of trouble for Greg at least, but the kid's at least trying. "'Cause I really don't want to cause trouble and the city looks like it would look amazing from the air?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Being that Joseph's traded in the odd mask and wings for wearing a shirt this time around. The concern about being recognized is of minor concern. This is especially true as Nick Drago is currently puzzling out the odds that he'd run into so many people from the school when he was IN ANOTHER FREAKING COUNTRY.

He does have enough presence of mind to shift to the side as big hulking guy seems quite adament to get away from the field trip gathered in the lobby.

Nick holds the toast and coffee, surprised look still in place as the camera gets pointed towards him. Considering the pause between the motion and her greeting, there was little guessing to what just happened. "...Says the woman who had her camera already out."

Hearing Irie call out to him, he turns his head to look over to the hyper girl. Mouth parting ways to respond. "Oh yes Hank had so-" And she's elsewhere now. He turns his head, watching her talk to a student he didn't recognize.

He looks back to Morrigan. "Who told?"

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Joseph Gardner gives the lobby another look as he reaches the elevator. Ah an egress is not a bird. What the heck is Drago doing in /this/ hotel? He meant to follow the musician in case the Ghost was still up to something concerning the musician. It could work out good or he could screw everything up and he really didn't like the idea of that Gentleman Ghost putting up a fight with all these innocent kids here... okay those redheaded twins were far from innocent judging fro. what they were doing to that poor concierge. But the rest of them...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Roy and a quirk of an eyebrow, "Ah, that is unfortunate, but I know that sometimes relationships don't work out. Hopefully all will be well going forward." she nods to that. "And yes, the catacombs are on the list of places to visit." she smiles to that. Then there is an Irie! Morrigan gives a grin, "Roy is one of our students that has been a bit absent. Hopefully that'll be changing though." she shoots a squint at the young man before looking to the others. Greg gets a smile, "Hello Greg." she greets him. "You can use powers as long as it's not disruptive or showing off." she tells him. "I'm sure you could take a birds eye view with little trouble." she smiles to that.

Then she looks to Nick and there's a smile, "I've had it out since we landed basically." she states with a soft smile. "I'm sad that Doctor Pym decided not to come. Hopefully he'll go on other trips though." she nods to that. "We've got a few new faces that you'll have to meet, when you aren't busy. I know you probably have prep and things." she admits.

Irie West has posed:
Irie nods at Morrigan when she explains about Roy. "Well, it's good you came back in time for the field trip anyway. It's so exciting, isn't it!?" That pretty much sums up Irie: A bundle of excitement. She scowls, however when Morrigan addresses Greg. "We just got off an airplane," she tells him disapprovingly. "And you want to go flying again?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper runs a hand down the pack of his neck as the teacher takes note of his recent absences, "Yeah, uh, I kept meanin' to get a note about those, just never quite got around to it yet." He hasn't done a good job of keeping up with Oliver lately anyway. Not that Oliver would've excused Roy's absences because they were definitely of the unofficial and unapproved type.

He holds up a hand as Irie addresses Greg, "Nah, nah, it's cool, dude wants to get his wing on, ain't nothin' wrong with that. Probably isn't the same thing, isn't it, being in a plane as flying high your own damn self. Everybody's got their own ways of lettin' off steam, y'know?"

Greg Rollins has posed:
Greg blinks, looking to Irie, "Yes? Besides, the airplane has a set route. I do not. Plus, the buildings simply look amazing. Even checking it out as far as the rooftops should be interesting." He shrugs, "I can probably carry you two along if you wish to... ah... 'tag along'?" He looks around at the others, "Did I get that right? Some of these Earth terms are different from my home."

He looks to Irie and Roy, "Oh, my apologies. My name is Greg." He offers a hand towards the two. Who he obviously doesn't know. "Nice to meet you!"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Well, Hank said he had to get some work done last time we talked. But he seemed to be in a much better place than usual. So..." The musician gives a shrug before turning slightly to show the case resting on his back. "Ah yes. I have a rehearsal coming up. I'm doing a guest appearance over at the Sala Santa Cecilia in the Parco della Musica tomorrow night. Local group is doing a themed show and have pulled a few guest performers to recreate some moments..."

Nick gives a slight smile, "...If any of your group is interested I think I can secure some extra tickets. They'd probably be on the upper level though. There's also a little exhibit on site. Seems when they built the park they found the ruins of a villa so they built around it for people to see."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"We're just glad to have you back, Roy. I'm not going to give you a bunch of crap. We just love you here." Morrigan tells the young man honestly. "If you ever need anything we're here. Hopefully we'll have a new counselor coming in as well. If anyone needs it." she tells them. "And that goes for all of you. Not just Mister Harper." she points out.

Her violet gaze looks over the crowd and the big guy that just went past, "That man looks like the one that crashed through my office window a while back." she squints a bit towards Joseph. She gives a look to Duncan who has signed back on as a 'wrangler' for this trip. He's dealing with Declan and Delia, "Duncan, do you have that video I sent you still on your phone?" she asks him.

Then she looks back to Nick, "I think that would be fine. Don't need to be front row or anything." she smiles to him. "And ruins are always fun to look at." she nods to that. Well...at least to her!

Irie West has posed:
Irie grabs Greg's hand and shakes it vigorously. "Hi! I'm Irie." Her mouth pulls down into a little frown, "I think I've had enough of flying. I like to keep my feet on the ground where I can... you know. Run." Her frown vanishes, "But thank you for the offer!"

Nick's mention of a concert catches Irie's short attention and like that she's back with Nick. "A concert! I'd love to see you in concert! Before you got..." she stops herself and slaps her hands over her mouth, remembering not to spoil things just in time. "Nevermind. Yes! Concert! Let's goooooo!"

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Joseph Gardner is told by a very apologetic luggage handler that his room will not be ready quite yet. Give them five minutos per fiore? Well Drago does not seem to be near him. He apparently knows the lovely lady in 40's regalia and some of the kids. He finds a seat, grabs a magazine off a table and begins reading, placing his sunglasses on an end table for now. He does grab the package and place it between his feet for safekeeping. He keeps one eye out for trouble because teenagers. Is that woman herding them by herself? She'll get wrinbkles.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper grins, "Back at you," he says to Morrigan, making the fingerguns in her direction. Is that an appropriate way to react to a teacher? No. But Roy has rarely in his life ever been appropriate.

"I agree, I like bein' able to get off the ride whenever I like and not have to depend on anybody else," he says. Flexing his fingers. He's got the nicotine itch, but teachers' too close around and, while he's not technically at school, he doesn't want to get a lecture. "What kinda concert?" he asks skeptically.

Greg Rollins has posed:
Greg looks over, also a bit curious at Nick. "Hi! A concert is where music is played and some dancing and other bouts of fun, right?"

The teen looks happy at the prospect of one. "I would not mind seeing one! I never have." He looks over at Irie, who's hand he was shaking. "Pleased to meet you as well. You two sure you do not wish to come along? Flying is one of the few things I can do and have fun with. I do wish I had a way to take more than one or two along."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Nick smiles at the acceptance of the offer. "Alright great. I'll check when I get there. Give you a call around lunch to let you know what I find out. And maybe get numbers." Hearing the cry from Irie, the musician turns his head to look to the speedster, smile still in place. Roy's added question gives him room to explain , "Tomorrow's not going to be one of my concerts. It's one with one of the resident orchestras at the Santa Cecilia. They're doing a theme selection and I'm one of the guests lined up to play with them."

The smile fades a little as he blinks, registering the last part of what Irie said. "Wait-" He looks over to the speedster, " Before I got...what?"

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Joseph Gardner puts his magazine up a little higher and tries to hide behind it. The magazine bobs in a regular manner as though the reader was convulsing slightly or chuckling. He suddenly realizes there are really a lot of gingers in the lobby. He shouldn't... Drago seems like a nice guy but... classic. the girl gives the impression of being a fast worker too, Hide and bite your cheek or something!

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Roy and there's a chuckle, "Don't get into too much trouble while we're here, alright?" she teases him gently. Then she turns to look at the phone that Duncan hands to her. There's a quiet murmur of thanks to her assistant before he's off to shoo some of the kids to their rooms. "You guys alright here?" she asks Nick and the kids. If they're alright then she gives a murmur to Duncan before she starts over towards Joseph.

The magazine probably won't save him. "You didn't happen to crash into a window in the last few weeks, did you?" she asks.

Irie West has posed:
"Nothing," Irie says resolutely. "Can't say. It's..." she can't remember if she's told Nick that she's from the future or not. "Spoilery." She /does/ look rather disappointed that the concert isn't tomorrow. "Shucks."

She turns back around to Greg. "It's nothing personal. I'm a runner. I like to run. I'm very good at it and I just get nervous when I don't have anything under my feet."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper gives a sly look to Morrigan, "Me? Get in trouble? How could I get in trouble here? The cops don't even have guns, they'd never catch me. Not that they'd have any need to, of course, because I'm not going to break any laws whatsoever. No, ma'am. Not even the little meaningless unjust ones that are only there to keep us from having fun."

At the revelation at the concert, he makes a face, "So it's like...classical music? Sick. Not in the good way either."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Deprived of further information but aware of the future thing, Nick gives a slow nod to Irie before looking over towards Roy. "Good thing that I'm not forcing you to go, right?" Giving a shake of the head, he glances over Morrigan's way. "Mo, I'm going. I'll give you a call around lunch." He looks over to Greg, giving him a nod as well. Enjoy your visit.

Farewells given to those known to be part of the school crew, Nick continues on his way to the door. He doesn't even need to shove the toast into his mouth to free his hand for managing the door as the doorman does it for him. Soon, musician, toast, coffee, and violin case have left the L'anatroccolo Assonnato .

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Joseph Gardner looks up from the magazine not sure he's heard correctly. There must have been a security camera. Dammit, he thought the mask and the wings made him hard to recognize. He replies with a raised eyebrow, "You have me at a disadvantage. What would make you ask such a question as an introduction? Perhaps you confused me with someone else miss...?" He picks up his shades and gets a good look at his accuser.

Accuse away.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look over as Nick departs and then her eyes focus back on Joseph. She squints at him, "Hmmm. Maybe I do. Security cameras still come out grainy even in these times." she muses. "Sorry to bother you. Have a good day." she dips her head to that. Then she's being tugged towards the elevators by Delia and the tiny redhead is speaking at ninety miles an hour. Which spells trouble for the Doctor.
