When In Rome: Part Two
Date of Scene: 01 June 2021
Location: The Catacombs of Rome
Synopsis: The students and faculty of Happy Harbor get to visit the catacombs, but not without it becoming a bad time fast. Oh and the Punisher blows someone up. They probably deserved it though!
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Michael Hannigan, Irie West, Vivian Vision, Joseph Gardner, Colette O'Connail, Friday, Frank Castle

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
When is the perfect time to investigate the catacombs of Rome with teenagers? At night of course!

Morrigan was hoping that this wasn't going to be too weird for them. Apparently there were a good number of the teens on the trip that were looking forward to adventuring there though and she was the last person to get in the way of them wanting to see things. They do have a guide, because the thought of getting lost with a group of teenagers in another country is something that none of the adults thought would be good.

Morrigan is dressed in jeans, comfortable walking shoes and a white button up shirt to keep some of the warmth at bay. Given they are going to be underground she's ditched her glasses for the time being. "Alright Happy Harbor members, let's come this way, we're going to head down and meet our guide and then we'll be visiting the catacombs that they have open to the public." she tells the group with a smile.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Well, thanks to a certain vigilante on holiday stopping by the Parco della Musica last night, the park is pretty much closed today. And with that, anything scheduled for today has been delayed to accomodate for the investigation. And to make room, several other events have been shuffled around. So what does that mean for Nick?

Well. Hope he likes Italy because his stay has been extended! Oh, also he has the day off with little else planned and no event handler to herd him anywhere. Considering the collection of students that are sharing the same hotel as him, he figured he could offer to come along to help with chaperoning today. Many hands, light work and whatnot.

Nick Drago is mostly dressed down in jeans and a tee that is higher in quality than what he typically wears in New York, but slightly less so than what he wears on stage. The hair is pulled back and the sunglasses that proved themselves useful earlier in the day have been demoted to just being hooked on to the collar of the tee in the evening hours.

Positioned a little bit away from Morrigan to help with the concept of the chaperones being spacing themselves. Out to keep an eye on MOST of the students, Nick glances to the gathering, waiting for a few of the students to make their way down before following.

Irie West has posed:
Despite having seen most of Rome already (thanks to having run around a lot to burn off some excess energy) Irie has only seen the outside of things. The inside of things can be exciting too! As well as the underside of things as well, as it turns out.

She waits with the other kids from Happy Harbor as patiently as she can, somehow managing to stay in one spot. For now.

Vivian Vision has posed:
The key to having good vacations is preparation. Being spontaneous is all well and good but if you don't do your background research how will you know where to go or what to do?

Which is why Viv is already taking the time to download and watch every bit of media about the Catacombs. Thousands of videos, some uploaded tv shows and others made by people sneaking in to explore, and just about every book and written article filling up her memory. All thanks to the efforts of numerous Virtual Vivs.

The synthezoid teenager is dressed in a simple yellow summer dress with a holographic disguise to mask her unusual nature. Not to hide from her fellow students but to avoid causing alarm for the locals and spoiling the trip.

Joseph Gardner has posed:
It is always might underground. It is no place for a person with wings either. But Hawkman feels something is off around the hotel, something is lurking around the pretty ginger and her horde of miscreants. there was also the unresolved matter of the Gentleman Ghost menacing Nick Drago and what better place for a ghost to lurk? He wears the helmet. the wings are folded into a surprisingly compact package across his shoulders. The tunnels are no place for a two handed mace. He's kitted out with a dagger and cesti strapped to his hands. he stays well back of the squabbling group and keeps to the shadows, relying on the enhanced view from his helmet and keeping an eye out for cold spots. His past lives had been tugging at him, especially the gladiator... who had some fun in several alcoves around 2000 years ago.

Colette O'Connail has posed:
Honestly there's not much chance of anyone getting lost -- the Italians like their tourist income too much to make that easy, so the signposting is clear, the awkward side passages are roped off, and you're have to try to actually take a wrong turn. On the other hand, with a band of troublesome teens like this, it's entirely possible that will happen. Maybe it'll be the twins, who tend to run towards trouble. Maybe it'll be Irie, who as the daughter of a Speedster might have trouble not wanting to investigate the entire labyrinthine complex.

Colette is not taking bets on whether or who any of the kids get lost, but that's mainly because she doesn't want Morrigan to know she was considering it. She is however responsibly helping to herd the caterpiller of kids making their way through the Roman streets to visit the catacombs. It's an excuse to visit Rome, after all, and Colette likes Rome. It's full of culture and fashionable clothing shops.

And Nick, apparently. That guy gets around. From time to time she eyes him suspiciously in case he's about to turn into a raven or something, but so far she is studiously avoiding any mention of dreams, braziers, zeitgeist seas, bottles of whiskey or anything similarly related. If she ignores all that stuff, perhaps it will go away.

Friday has posed:
Ms Torres takes in a deep breath, clearly enjoying the trip. "Comune di Roma Capitale," she says, her accent noticeable. She's not from here but she is from somewhere. "This country's influence used to cover so far that the sun never set on its empire. Not entirely true, but a wonderfully romantic image."

She signed up FAST when told that there was a world-travel trip planned. Being a world history teacher, she's kind of required to go. The fact that she seems to take so much enjoyment from it is just a bonus.

"I've arranged some small online walkthroughs if anyone wants to do a bit of a treasure hunt while we're here. Pictures uploaded of any notable structures or famous treasures are bonus points! And yes, I am competing myself."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Dark Rome Tours is the name of the tour group that they've been booked to, apparently their reviews were good and they have fluent English speaking guides, so nothing is lost in the translation for the students! Their guide is an older gentleman with black hair that's starting to get some silver in it. He looks like this might be the toughest crowd he's had to deal with though. He makes sure to go over the do's and do nots of the catacombs with everyone. "We'll be starting In the Santa Priscilla Catacombs and working from there." he tells the group.

A rare sight has occured this evening, Declan is heading off with a group of boys his age, which has left Delia hanging out near Morrigan and they are in quiet conversation towards the back of the group as they head into their first destination.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Due to the man in a hawk mask being all secret with his following and Nick not being very good at detecting such things. The dagger wielding wingman is payed very little attention to.

Considering the last time Nick saw the Gentleman Ghost involved said ghost getting fried by a baby maskd sun in a demented toddler's dream, the rocker hasn't really given much thought to the possibility of that guy popping back up.

But one thing that does come to mind is due to the sight of Colette here. He hasn't forgotten about Cliff but until the dreams turn the right way, there's little he can do except, not use up his energy before the time is right. He does give Colette a glance from time to time.

Nick gives a curious look as one of the twins walks away from the other. Huh. So they CAN be separated... He glances back towards Isabella, "...Are pictures ok to be taking here? I'd assume the only thing that'd work in this light would be with flash."

Irie West has posed:
"Ooooh! A Treasure hunt!" Irie sounds excited by this prospect. She steps up next to Viv and announces, "I'm with Vivian on this! Between us we'll get this in no time flat!" Her head is filled with visions of running around Rome and the catacombs with Viv in her arms directing her where to go so they can find all the stuff in record time.

Joseph Gardner has posed:
Hawkman doesn't really have enhanced hearing. The nuances of conversation are lost. He slips into an alcove out of sight. The Ghost is far from stealthy and people do scream when they see ghosts in general. Oh, this alcove, if it could talk... and listeners spoke Latin. He takes a moment to stretch his wings then fold them back against his body.

Vivian Vision has posed:
As the group begins to head into the catacombs for the tour Viv picks up a small bag that's packed full of useful vacation supplies. Spare suntan cream, insect spray, bottled water and energy bars. All intend for sharing with her fellow students.

She also has her T-Comm with her. Just in case.

"Would it not be considered cheating for me to join in? I merely have to look at something to take detailed video footage..." she muses. "Or I could just take stock images and edit them." There's a pause and she gives Irie a smile. "I have no objections to teaming up though. Providing I'm allowed to participate."

Friday has posed:
Nick gets a smile from the teacher as they begin the tour. "Obviously, don't break any laws to get photos, anyone. I rather thought that was assumed. You'll find that we'll be going to more than just the one location though."

She turns to Vivian and Crazy Irie and raises an eyebrow. "Well, there's no actual prize except that you experience Rome. So, why wouldn't you be? I've just pointed out some of the more famous locations, but you might find some that I've missed. Maybe I'll get everyone who participates something nice. I'm not the evil teacher, and this is meant to be a fun trip."

Who would be the evil teacher? Clearly nobody here. Shush.

And she's totally not planning to steal anything that her students find that's really awesome. Nope.

Colette O'Connail has posed:
Colette's generally keeping to the front of the group, partially so she can practise her rather inadequate Italian with the tour guide when he's not busy speaking English to the group. Partially because she's quite enthusiastic about seeing the catacombs.

"Lusitania to Basra," Colette calls back to Isabella. "That's only four time zones. Sun never setting was more of a Hapsburgs and British Empire thing." Hark at her arguing history with the history teacher. "They weren't very good at geography back then, though. Alexander the Great, Xerxes, there were a bunch of people who had ambitions to conquer everything the sun shone on. Alexander the Great was supposed to have wept because there were no more worlds to conquer, and he didn't even reach China. Let alone America. Shows how much the ancients knew."

The ancients did seem to carve impressive catacombs though. Colette peers into the gloom ahead. It seems eager, though it's more that gloom doesn't really interrupt her ability to see things. "Stay with the group please Irie," she calls back, apparently having overheard the speedster's scheming. "There's a lot of tunnels here and they're not all safe. Also probably not built to wishstand the structural damage of high speed travel."

Irie West has posed:
"Awwwwww," Irie says, disappointed that Colette called her out like that. "Still," she says with a grin to Viv, "It should be fun even if you do know where everything is. You can take pictures without flash and send them to my phone, right?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Nick turns his head looking over towards Irie making her Speedster brand enthusiasm known. A point of concern comes to mind as he looks to Isabella once more. "All the items on the list are on the main path, right?" He really was not looking forward to the prospect of a lost speedster running around in the darkness.

"Irie, just be sure to -" He pauses as another is already voicing the concern. "What she said."

Friday has posed:
Called out, Isabella rolls her eyes. "I said it wasn't actually true. Just romantic. I kind of like the silly things history does, when we of a thousand years afterward in our all knowing wisdom know better. At the time is was an incredible achievement."

"Irie...they know your abilities better than I ever will. Also you Vivian. But if you can take a good three dimensional record of these catacombs for our records back home, I think you'd be serving history. There is a lot to be said for unobtrusively recording famous monuments so they can be fixed if there ever is damage done."

Just don't cause it yourselves, she thinks quietly. But out loud as she answers her students, she says, "I've added famous sites all over Rome. But they are only the most known ones. I want to see if you find anything magical. But, again, no lawbreaking and don't get lost. We're not insured for children being lost in Rome, it's a bit out of our price ranges."

Then in Italian she adds, "Just keep with the group til you're allowed to roam, okay? If you understand this in the first place you're doing well."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"I can indeed send images to a phone," Viv agrees with a nod. "I'll plot in a suitable route that will not only cover every location on the list but should have the optimal positions and lighting for the images." Because if you're going to take pictures of landmarks in Rome you really should take the time to do them justice!

She also makes a mental note to include stops for snack breaks.

"But we probably should remain with the group for the time being." For whatever level of spooky the catacombs might be for regular students they pose no real concern to Viv. Having senses that make the darkness largely irrelevant and the ability to phase through the rock and surface at any point.

Irie West has posed:
"Sweet." Irie says with a grin. The dark and spooky catacombs don't really frighten Irie. If she was here, by herself, in the dark then, yes. That would be frightening. But with chaperones, good lighting and a gaggle of teens? No fear here.

She takes Viv by the hand to walk with her as they start sightseeing. "I wonder what you think about all of this," she asks her companion. "I mean. You can download all the pictures you want so it's not like you're actually seeing anything for the first time."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Salvatore, the guide for this big group, is at the head and explaining where they are walking through. The Priscilla Catacombs are known for their artwork that is spread over the walls and things. He's very thorough in explaining things for them. And he doesn't mind questions. He answers them quite professionally should they come up.

Morrigan seems to be fine staying at the back with Delia. As the younger red head doesn't seem to be enjoying this trip through the realm of skeletons tucked away into the nooks and crannies. "Death is a natural part of our life, Delia." Morrigan tells her quietly. "And we shouldn't be scared. Nothing is going to get you down here. Or well...the worst would be Declan pranking us." she muses softly.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Nick follows along quietly glancing to the realm of skeletons and glances behind for the other twin. So help him if one of the twins moves a body...

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision shakes her head. "Actually I am getting a lot of new sensory data," she points out. "Most online images are lower resolution than my own senses and only cover the visual spectrum. It'd be like if you took a virtual tour of a place recreated by rendering voxels in cubic blocks."

Her systems do indeed begin making complete scans as they travel along. The location is almost certainly archived already by Italian archeologists, so there is unlikely to be much value in the scans. But they make for good holiday videos!

"As for what I think... it's interesting I suppose. I do not think religious art is something I wish to study in detail but it's a nice break from G.I.R.L space projects." Not that she's actually stopped remotely doing her usual work back in the labs....

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Declan's not too far behind their tour guide. Though the boys he's been with do peel off to the right to take a look at some of the bones that are placed into the nooks of the room, "Gross." one of them comments. But they don't touch anything thank the gods.

Delia reaches out to grab Morrigan's arm to stop her, "Doctor, I'd like to go back up if it's alright..." the teen trails off as she tugs the older redhead towards the path they just came down.

There is a noticeable temperature drop once people cross over into the catacomb room. Might just be someones imagination getting the best of them though.

Friday has posed:
Isabella has no abilities to speak of. She has, however, a deep love of ancient history. Looking back towards Della, she falls back a bit to join Morrigan and herself. "If you don't think you can handle it, Della, we can always take you out. I promise, though, if you think you can handle it this will be one of the most amazing sights you've ever seen."

She turns, glancing ahead into the passageways, where the fallen have interred. "There is so much to learn. I wish I had a million lives, to see it all. And I, for one, and honoured that you're trying."

She looks at Della again, with Morrigan, and smiles. "Being an archaeologist takes bravery. The ability to get stronger, even though you're scared. We're here with you."

Colette O'Connail has posed:
"Hindsight is a glorious thing," Colette calls back to Isabella. "But romanticizing history does not serve history." She seems intent on keeping the call-out going. "We are here marvelling in the achievements of the Roman Empire, but we shouldn't forget the cruelty and barbarity they achieved as well. A lot of these catacombs were constructed by early Christian groups before it became the state religion of Rome, and a few of the corpses down here were martyrs."

"There was Saint Agnes, for example. She has a catacomb named after her. The story of her death is a bit much to recount for some of the young ones here, but it ended with a soldier stabbing her through the throat with a sword, and that was probably about the least nasty thing they tried."

Such stories are good for the atmosphere when you're going into a place like this. At least if you like the spookier atmosphere. It may not be doing Delia's nerves any good though.

Irie West has posed:
"Neat," Irie says when Viv explains how she experiences things. "I can only imagine what it's like for you, but that kind of thing is cool." She's always found Viv to be 'neat' and 'cool' even when the synthezoid is being her most human.

"Yeah, I know," she says when G.I.R.L. is mentioned, stretching her arms up over he head. "Don't get me wrong. I love you all, but sometimes you get so focused you forget to take a break now and then." Ever since she was introduced to G.I.R.L. labs, Irie has become something of a fixture. Sure she isn't a super genius like the other girls, but she's clever in her own way, helpful to a fault, and has found herself to be just as scientifically minded as the rest.

Vivian Vision has posed:
The temperature drop might go unnoticed by some or be mistaken for the chills of a 'spooky' place. But for Viv Vision it's a matter of empirical fact. She pauses and moves her hand back to try identify the precise point where the cold zone begins. "That is unusual. I wonder if this section of the catacombs has a different geological make-up," she wonders. "Or if perhaps there is a flow of underground water which is changing the temperature."

She shrugs. The idea it could be something spooky never even crossing her mind except in distant references to horror films filed in her memory.

"I don't need breaks. But I do despair at my inability to ever get my Great Aunt to take a break...."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Ok. As far as magic users go. Nick's not exactly the most attuned person when it comes to changes. But a temperature drop does make the musician tilt his head. Although, it is a warm night in Rome. Even if underground is supposedly consistent, it's going to seem colder in relation. Right? "Hmm. Anyone know what temperature it is down here?"

He looks over to Vivian.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Delia looks to Isabella as they are heading out to the hall, but something stops her about the same time the temperature drops. Oh yes, the girl DEFINITELY looks freaked out now. "Miss Torres...did you feel that too?" she asks. Then she's looking between Morrigan and the other teachers.

Morrigan's already looking over things. Did someone pull a prank? Did one of the kids have temperature dropping powers that she didn't know about. Then Delia bolts for the door. Not looking at what or who she might be bowling over. "Delia!" Morrigan whispers loudly as she heads after her, "You're going to get disoriented down here, stop and calm down." the older red head pleads.

Irie West has posed:
"That's what they all say," mutters Irie in response to Viv telling her that 'she doesn't need breaks.' She probably wouldn't have noticed the temperature change if Viv hadn't pointed it out and she spends a moment to go back and forth between the two areas. "Hunh." she says. "Neat."

"I've found," she says conversationally once that's done with, "that sometimes the only way to get Nadia to take a break, is to just grab her and phase her out of the building."

Friday has posed:
"I...did?" Isabella says, but Della is already turning to run. "Wait!" She pauses, then she turns to the other students. "Ms Macintyre can handle her. I want everyone to stay calm, stay together. Nobody going off to find out if there's something going on, these places have fairly strong temperature variations."

She worries, but she is a teacher, damnit. "Let's not get too far away, and please follow the guide's orders. We want to stay as a group."

Colette O'Connail has posed:
Colette appears to have missed the temperature drop - perhaps something to do with the expensive-looking new Italian leather coat she's wearing. The reaction people start having is what attracts her attention, and she looks back curiously.

She gives Nick a shrug. "Fifty-five or so, all year round. Catacombs are cold, but very stable temperatures. That's why they tell you to dress warmly on the tickets. Of course nobody reads the tickets, but yeah." She turns back around. "Probably helps with preserving the bodies longer," she adds with morbid relish.

Frank Castle has posed:
Then, there are a series of rumbling explosions a bit off in the distance. The shockwaves big enough to cause a bit of the tunnel the group is in to shake and some dirt to fall. Followed by muffled shouts from a distance ahead.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Ah right. Natural morgue." The rocker turns his head, watching Morrigan and student bolt off before Isabella assumes control of the remaining group. Well, down one chaperone and student, Nick looks between Isabella and Colette.

With a nod, he moves from center towards the back of the group, allowing for the ladies to hang out with the tour guide. He glances around, making sure that no one else is missing. Hearing the rumble and seeing some dirt falling, he glances towards the tour guide. "Ok. Not to incite panic or anything but. Is THAT normal?"

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision produces a holographic screen for Nick. On it is a map of Italy with regional temperatures listed with Rome highlighted. Plus a graph of the temperature changes since the group entered the catacombs. Each linked to a map of the catacomb sections they have been travelling through.

"That sounds a lot like an explosion." She muses. "I'm running a comparison of the sound to identify what type and roughly how far away it is. Sound does travel long distances in tunnels." She starts looking up what construction work might be underway in the area. Perhaps someone is demolishing a building on the surface.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's dealing with Delia freaking out when the ground starts shaking and dirt starts to fall down from the ceiling of the catacombs, making the lights blot out for a moment. Which doesn't help Delia's freak out. But the woman finally catches up to her and there's a moment taken to gently take her arm. "Going to take a short cut." she tells her quietly. With that, Morrigan murmurs something and then they appear in the stairway back up to the street. She leads Delia out to see what is exploding in the night time. Because that doesn't seem normal.

Salvatore gives a look to the ceiling, then the group, "If everyone will please gather, let us return to the surface as I am unsure if there was an reported demolitions being done...so I'd rather not take chance." he tells them as he starts to motion for the group to go back the way they came.

Friday has posed:
"This is getting over my pay grade," Isabella mumbles to herself. She looks left, then right, then motions back the way they came. "You heard the man," she directs. "Get your butts in gear, people. I want to see every student who can't pass through walls on the move."

And the temptation to go find out what it is herself...rising.

Colette O'Connail has posed:
"No, that's not normal," Colette replies grimly. "They take their archeology seriously here, nobody would be allowed to use explosives for a demolition this close to the catacombs. Something's wrong."

Colette glances at Salvator and gives him a nod, then turns to Isabella. "You know, it might be a good ida if we leave as a group rather than staying as a group. The rock here isn't exactly firm, that's why it was easy for them to cut these catacombs. If there are explosions knocking things lose down here, we should probably evacuate."

From being at the front to being at the rear now the group seems to be heading back to the surface, Colette turns and starts ushering stray kids back. "Okay you heard the man, kids. Everyone turn around and start walking /calmly/ back to the surface.

Irie West has posed:
The dust that's kicked up and sifts down causes Irie to sneeze. "That...." she begins but Viv beats her to it. "Yeah Explosion." She looks around to see whos watching before telling Viv. "I'm gonna go check it out. I've got my T-Com with me so we can keep in touch."

And with that, the speedster is gone in a streak of yellow, leaving little Speed Force electrical arcs in her wake. She's going to go as straight as she can down the narrow paths of the catacombs, towards where she supposes the explosion would be, way past where visitors are allowed to go. If she doesn't find it that way, she'll start exploring the side channels and offshoots, hoping that she can find whatever made that explosion before it decides to explode her whole class.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Nick nods at Salvatore's decision. If this wasn't expected, then... yeesh. Underground, probably not good. Nick turns his head, listening to Isabella's comment. Arching a brow before looking to Colette.

And then Irie starts talking about taking a look. His head immediately turns, eyes widening, "Irie stay with the-"

Annnnnnd she's gone. "-group."

Nick sighs, gathering the other students instead.

Frank Castle has posed:
There are no more explosions. Just a large section of collapsed tunnel where about a dozen people are trapped roughly a half mile ahead. Just after the collapse is an opened coffin, the lid across the tunnel, as if thrown.

Whoever did this, they're gone... but they're probably not very far.

Vivian Vision has posed:
When Irie rushes off it's not really a shock to Viv. Indeed she'd already been feeding maps and directions into the T-com channel for Irie. A speedster rushing off is no more unusual than a Pym getting caught up in science after all.

"A check of the local records does not indicate anyone will be carrying out authorized demolitions at this time. And the sound profile matches with the use of C4."

She follows along with the group. Keeping herself between the others and the direction of potential trouble.

Irie West has posed:
Irie stops when she finds a group of people trapped under the rubble. She quickly checks them to see if they're alive and breathes a sigh of relief when she finds out that they are. "I've got maybe a dozen people, about..." She squints in thought "350 meters up the main passageway, then take that right which leads to a T intersection. A lot of 'em are hurt so we're gonna need an ambulance." A pause. "Or six. Some of 'em are buried so I'm gonna phase 'em out, and then keep on looking to make sure that there isn't anybody else hurt down here."

With her intentions announced she proceeds to do just that. She speaks calmly to the people who are still conscious, even though they probably don't understand English all that well, and carefully starts grabbing those who are trapped by the rubble and phases them out from underneath to set them safely aside. It's hard work and she's sweating by the time she's gotten everybody safely back from where the explosion has happened. After all, she's a tiny girl lugging around full grown adults.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Duncan is on the surface as Morrigan and Delia come out and the Doctor leads the shaken girl over to him, "Keep her calm and do not leave unless something is on fire. I need to see what's going on with this mess." she tells him sternly. Then the older woman turns to look in which direction the explosion came from before she disappears. She follows her senses and ends up on the other side of the rubble. The casket that's askew gets a look before she's off to see just exactly who or what else might be down here with them.

Colette O'Connail has posed:
Colette gives a sigh when Irie decides to ignore the instruction to move out, and returns Nick's look with a shrug. She glances over to Isabella, and then looks longingly in the direction of the exit.

"Right," she announces. "I'm going to go after her, as someone has to. Nick, Isabella, get them herded out to Morrigan. I'll fetch her back as soon as I can. Vivian, I know what you're about to say and the school cannot put students in danger, and that's why I'm not suggesting it. Stay with the group."

Without waiting to see if anyone's going to object or suggest alternatives, Colette turns and moves back into the passages, chasing after Irie.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Taking position to the back of the group on the return trip. Nick looks over to Vivian at the mention of unauthorized C4. Oh great. Surprise C4 during an underground tour. As Colette volunteers to go after Irie... (How is she going to catch up to her?) That leaves just two chaperones for the remaining school group. That and not being privy to what Irie found makes the decision to stick with the group all the much easier.

Frank Castle has posed:
Those below have no problems with their rescues...

Above, Delia, Morrigan, and whomever happens to be watching gets to see a black van pull up casually to another entry into the catacombs... and out of that entry comes an infamous figure. Anyone who pays attention to the news will be able to recognize the Punisher in his skull vest and trenchcoat outfit. He makes no effort to hide either the knocked out body under his armpit in his left arm... nor the pistol in his right hand, as he heads for the back of the van.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's not prone to drawing the kids into trouble, hence why she left Delia with Duncan and the rest of them will be safely escorted out. But she figures that she's not helping down here. Which draws her back outside and she simply just reappears. Her violet gaze looks over to the black van that pulls up...then the man that comes out is a face that Morrigan's seen on TV, not really face to face. "Oh shit. That is way above our paygrade." she blows a breath out.

"I called the local authorities, they have medical on the way." Duncan tells Morrigan. She gives a nod, then she stares at the Punisher while he goes about his business. Because honestly...she didn't feel like there was a need for a confrontation.

Meanwhile, Salvatore finds a way for the kids and the chaperone's to get back to the surface. It doesn't take them that long to get back out thankfully.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Viv doesn't actually need to go anywhere to help of course. <<Irie I will direct the local emergency services to your location.>> she advises via the T-comm. All the while another subpersona handles the business of updating the Rome police and ambulance services with the information Kid Flash has passed on. <<Also if you need to provide any first aid I can walk you through what needs doing. Just activate your cellphone camera.>>

Her physical body shrugs at Colette. "If you insist. I shall remain with the group to provide them with protection."

Indeed that's exactly what she does. Keeping at the back, ready just in case the tunnel starts to collapse or a sudden evil group attack kicks off.

Colette O'Connail has posed:
The answer as to how Colette is able to catch up to Irie must remain a mystery for now. Suffice to say that Irie stopping to tend to the wounded and move them through solid earth into the into the safety of the street gives her time to do some catching up. Even Irie may be too busy and distracted to notice that Colette seems to have covered the distance rather quickly.

By the time Irie has returned for the last person, she'll find Colette standing there staring at her under stern brows, tapping her feet on the floor. "Irie," she says. "You're not meant to be superheroing on school time, and this counts. When you're told to evacuate, I expect you to listen. Now I know there are times when your powers mean you can save lives, but there are emergency services here, and unless you are absolutely certain they couldn't do the job, you shouldn't be. Clear? Now when you take that last person out, do not come back into the catacombs, come and meet us at the front entrance. "

The stern look cracks and she grins slightly. "Don't make me call your father, Irie. He can be here in like fifteen seconds..." she gives Irie a quick wink and heads back into the gloom of the tunnel towards the entrance."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
While the others busy themselves with the rescue, Nick is part of the early group that makes it up. Coming out of the tunnels he glances around to find Morrigan, looking off to the distance. Curious, he turns his head, following her glance to see the van and the logo that's graced some news stories. "F-"

REMEMBER THE CHILDREN!

"-uudge?"

Irie West has posed:
Once the injured victims are placed safely away, Irie considers speeding off to see if she can't catch whoever set these explosives. But these people need some medical attention and some of them are bad off enough that they need first aid. She may be fast but she can't be in two places at the same time.

"First aid is one of the first things that that Dad taught me," she tells Viv, but pulls out her phone anyway. Viv can triage the injuries much better than she could, so, working together, they're able to get the worst taken care of before the ambulances arrive.

Colette gets the stink eye from Irie. "I was a superhero with my dad before I was a student, Mrs. O'Connail. So. Yeah. When people get hurt I'm gonna help if I can." She looks up at the woman and puts her hands on her hips and says, "So go ahead call my dad," she challenges. "I dare ya."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look as people start appearing from the stairs and out into the open air of the night. "Nick, I just think we had a wrong place, wrong time sort of night. None of the kids are injured, are they?" she asks him. Then she turns to look all of them over as the come up. "Irie bolted off to help I'm guessing." she muses about that. Then there's the sound of police sirens and others rushing towards their destination.

It was going to be a long night for them.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Nick looks over to Morrigan. Giving a nod. "I'm starting to wonder if-" He pauses, shaking his head.

No.

Two nights in a row is not likely.

"Nevermind. Uh. There's a place down aways that serves amazing Gelato. Maybe we should just take them there."
