Picking Up A Ride
Date of Scene: 28 April 2021
Location: Brooklyn
Synopsis: Morrigan meets Johnny Blaze. Nothing gets set on fire.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Johnny Blaze

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's motorcycle had gotten pretty banged up when she wiped out on it during an incident. It had gotten towed to a place in Brooklyn and when it was fixed they'd called her to pick it up. That is what the woman is doing here. She exits the Uber that had driven her over and gives a look up to see the sign. Well, they had almost dropped her off in the right place. But it was no trouble.

She grabs her jacket from the back of the car and tips the driver before closing the door and making her way down to Casey's Autoshop. She sends a quick text, letting her assistant know she'd gotten here. She definitely didn't fit the bill for a local, but, here she was.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze is sitting outside himself. He doesn't need parts for his motorcycle because he has a special kind of motorcycle that tends to get put back together by the demonic entity that shares part of his soulspace. But, he gets along with bikers and biker types, and he has some old friends around here. He's been playing poker with the owner and mostly getting his ass handed to him.

Now he's ducked outside for a cigarette, shielding the smoke with his hand as he lights it up and glancing up at Morrigan's approach, "Reb'll be with ya in a minute, he's just hittin' the can," he says, perhaps uncouthly.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look up when she hears a voice and there's a bit of a smile to the man, "Oh that's no trouble." the Irish woman states with a little dip of her head. "They called to let me know my bike was done and couldn't really wait to get it back." she mentions idly as she looks into the doors. She spots her bike sitting in the bay and there's a smile, "Looks like new. Honestly that's a relief." she murmurs to herself.

Then there's a look back to the man that's smoking, "Do you work here or are you getting work done?" she asks.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze shakes his head, "Neither. Just checking on an old pal. Reb used to run a Club called the Black Lung Bleeders. I never rode with them, but he and I crossed paths a few times. We usually got along, when we weren't trying to crack each other's skulls open," he says.

"Johnny Blaze," he says, offering his hand. Possible she's heard of the daredevil stunt rider, although it's been years since he performed for the public.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan reaches up to remove her sunglasses since there's a bit of shade here. Her violet gaze focuses a bit better on Johnny and there's a nod of how he and the owner met, "I mean, I've got friends that I'd hit in the head harder if I could." she chuckles to that. Hellboy being the main one. "I'm probably the weirdest person that's came through her today." she muses as she looks around and shrugs a little.

She reaches out to take the hand that's offered, giving a firm, but friendly shake. "The Johnny Blaze that used to do stunt rides and things or just managed to also be a motorcyclist with the same name?" she asks him. It's nice to be sure.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze cocks his head, "Makes sense. Weird things and strange people tend to...happen when I'm around. Just one of those little quirks of nature," he says. Or supernature, in his case.

He returns the grip and pushes his sunglasses up onto his head, "Been a while since anybody recognized the name. Was starting to think people were forgetting about the old glitz and glam days," he says. "Same guy, but with a lot more mileage, yeah."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Weird is a thing I know a LOT about. Not that it's all bad." Morrigan offers with a smile to that. "And they have their places, so it's not like the world is completely out of whack with it." she muses.

"Or you just run into a lot of young folks that don't remember because they were not around." she chuckles as she points that out. "When I got my motorcycle my mom told me none of that trick stuff." she admits. "I'm feeling my mileage these last few weeks. Thinking about taking a vacation." she tells him. "So what is a former stunt man doing these days?" she asks him.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze cocks his head, "You don't strike me as that old. Plus, you're not from around here either. Now, I have been deceived on such things before. I've met a few immortals in my day," he says, then takes a closer look at young woman.

"Oh, you know, travelling around, this and that. I'm mostly retired. I spent a few years running the Quentin Circus, running the circuit, but I left it in more capable hands than mine."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a laugh, "I just turned thirty six, I'm not really one of those women that do the 29 forever thing." she shrugs. "Immortals are few and far between from what I've seen. Though..I guess Gods and Demi-Gods can fall under that." she muses quietly. "I was born in Ireland, but got adopted after some things happened and ended up here in New York. Accent just sorta carries." she explains.

"I'm dreaming of retirement. Maybe that's because I'm a principal." she chuckles at that. "Honestly sounds like you're doing good." she offers with a softer smile.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze raises an eyebrow, "A principal? Damn, I'm surprised you look young, then. Kids'll put the grey hairs on ya faster than almost anything else. Don't get me wrong, I miss my young'uns like crazy," he says, finishing his cigarette and putting it out in a nearby ashtray.

"I'm doin' as well as I ever do. This city can be a little crazy for me. I've had a complicated history with this place. Things have a tendency to get nasty real sudden like."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan nods to that as she leans against the wall, she was relaxed and just talking to another adult was nice. "Yeah. I run a school for powered and non-powered children. We just went public last month on it actually." she admits. "Seems it's been well received, but there's always those folks that think anything not normal needs to be purged." she frowns.

Then she shakes herself a little, "And yes, kids will definitely put grey in my hair, but they're pretty great." she admits. "You have any kids, Mister Blaze?" she asks.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze nods, "Two. A boy and a girl. Both with my ex out West these days. I think they're in Arizona this week. I should call and check," he sighs. "I miss 'em every day, but my life, well...they're better off not being around me. Not because of me, but because of...the things that tend to follow me," he says.

"And yeah, there are always folks like that. People who like to see other people suffer. People that want to hurt anybody who's different."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan watches him as he speaks and there's a moment she feels a tightness in her chest, emotions were a horrible thing sometimes. She offers him a gentle smile though, "I'm sure they enjoy the calls. And when they are older I hope that they understand that you're doing what's best for them." she tells him quietly.

"Sadly there's a lot of folks out there these days that want to hurt kids and it's one of the things I'm trying to stop with the school. Kids are innocent when it comes to most things and should be protected." she nods to this.

"So here is the million dollar question, you don't have to answer it of course, but..." and she looks to him, "What follows you?" she asks him.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze flexes his hands at the mention of people who want to hurt kids and spill innocent blood. "Folks and things worse than folks, I'm afraid. What follows me? Devils, ma'am, and ain't no metaphor about all that. I got a demon on my back and have had for a long time. Lucky for me, I can usually set him loose on the people that deserve hell. So if anybody ever tries hurting any of your kids, well, maybe I'll be around to teach them the meaning of vengeance," he says.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a nod to that, "I've dealt with demons before, not the best thing to go against, but, things sometimes need to be done." she nods to that in understanding. Though she didn't turn into a spirit of vengeance!

"You actually just missed some action at the school, some dumb ass group trying to kidnap one of our students. But...we handled them pretty well." she grins at that. "Even if I am still dealing with a bullet wound." she muses. "But, should we have any other issues that arise I will hope that you're in town." she tells him.

Then she ohs at something and digs into her pocket and pulls out a white business card and hands it over, "If you ever want to just stop in. We've got a big campus and things. The kids don't bite much either." she offers to him. Her information is on their, identifying her as Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze takes the card, "I ain't sure what good I'd do at a school, other'n tellin' kids to stay in it unless they wanna end up a busted up ol' carnie like me," he says with a wink. "I wouldn't want to damage your reputation as an educator."

He winces, "Bullet wounds suck. Sorry to hear that. At least you're up and walkin' around."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"You could always give them pointers on how not to give me grey hair...or teach them how to do tricks on a motorcycle and give me more." Morrigan gives a grin to that. "Honestly if anyone damages my reputation it'll be myself...and probably Hellboy. He's getting folks into all kinds of trouble." she muses aloud. "But, his intentions are good." she adds.

"And yeah, I don't suggest getting shot as a past time. I just got the sling off. Probably need to ride easy for a few days so I don't have to get stitches again." she states. "I should probably quit talking your ear off though and get stuff here settled." she smiles to that.

Johnny Blaze has posed:
Johnny Blaze smiles, "It was nice to meet ya, ma'am. Maybe I'll be seein' you around," he says. He lights a new cigarette and walks over to a vintage bike parked nearby, climbing astride it. It's one of those long bikes with the extended front wheel, with a high-backed seat and flames painted on the side.

"Hellboy, huh? Haven't met him yet. But you never know. The night is young," he says, revving his engine as he turns the key and burning a little rubber before speeding off into the night...
