Shakey meetings
Date of Scene: 28 April 2021
Location: Shake Shack
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Atlin, Albert Rothstein, Aisling Caroll

Atlin has posed:
Once more out and about, once more at the Shake Shack. This time? Atlin was actually going to try ordering something. Of course, the fact that the tanned blonde woman seemed to be staring at the menu like it were a mortal enemy that had done her wrong might be a little odd, not to mention her attire. The wrappings and robes looked some strange mix between some sort of priestess and warrior monk, but all signs screaming that she wasn't from 'around here'.

The problem with the borrowed clothing she'd been given? A tendancy to get herself into trouble meant that they'd almost all been destroyed. At least, those that were fit for the weather the city was experiencing.

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein comes walking up towards the shack. The big man is looking about moving to get into line, he sees the woman who seems out of place. A brow raises a bit and he will ask "You ok miss?" He asks her, as he trys not to loom to much. IT is something you have to watch when your his size.

Aisling Caroll has posed:
Aisling, for her part in all the beginings of this encounter, is sat alone at one of the eating areas happily munching on a garlic double bacon burger, fries with added parmesian seasoning on them, and a nice cold glass of Coke, because Pepsi sucks.

Atlin has posed:
Odd looks weren't exactly in short supply for Atlin already, and that probably wasn't going to get any better with the arrival of a nearly eight foot tall man with a giant red beard and mowhawk. Even the Amazon herself seems to blink a moment before looking back from the man to the menu once more, that same frown on her lips. "There is a lot of food here," she speaks, somewhat stating the obvious in her accented tones. "And I do not know where to begin."

A common enough complaint for people, but given that Atlin had spent more than most people's lifetimes in Bana-Mighdall, the diversity of foods had been a little overwhelming. Clearly 'Man's World' had a couple of benefits, at least in the culinary sense.

Another furrow of frustration, her head turns from the display towards Aisling, the woman alone and undistracted by company (and unfortunate enough to be close enough to catch Atlin's eye.) "You there...," she speaks again, "What is the best item of food this place offers?"

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein starts to say something but as the woman picks out a person to ask, he will just smile a bit and wait to let her answer. He does look over to the window and orders himself a Dr. Pepper, and 3 double bacon cheese burgers, and 2 orders of fries. When asked if it to go, he tells them na it is for here.

Aisling Caroll has posed:
Aisling just blinks as she looks up with a mouth full of food, as is obvious by her bulging cheeks. There's a rather long pause as she finishes up the bite she had taken, takes a sip, and then responds in what is every much an obviously moderate Irish accent. "Try the Garlic Double with Bacon" she replies rather curtly before taking another sip of her drink and shoving more food in her mouth, happily one might note.

Atlin has posed:
A simple question, but a simple enough answer. Atlin seemed apparently willing to trust the word of an apparent native. After all, who was she to know if an accent other than her own was out of place, especially in such a mixed city. With Albert stepping ahead however she is forced to wait a few moments, that frown on her lips still remaining slight for the inconvenience if only for the fact now she had to find out just how the advised meal would measure up.

Order placed, the blonde Amazon simply moves towards the table with the roped in Aisling, sitting herself down invited or not. After all, eating communally with her sisters had been the norm! It was however, Albert that she spoke up to first, at tilt of her head offered. "You are the tallest human I have seen here. Are you kin of one of the 'giants' the Asgardian spoke of?"

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein smiles a bit and shakes his head "Na, not to my knowledge, rest of my family are pretty normal sized." He offers to the woman. He steps over and offers her his hand "Albert, Albert Rothstein." He introduces himself. "Mechanic and part time teacher." He adds . He looks over to the other lady and offers her a nod in greeting.

Aisling Caroll has posed:
Aisling finishes her burger and starts very happily munching on her fries while casually taking sips of her drink. She head tilts back at the Amazon and the Tall man and then just goes back to munching away. Inbetween said munches the both of them get, very simply, "Aisling."

Atlin has posed:
Names exchanged, even the 'Out of water' that is Atlin offers a nod, one hand lifted to gesture to herself. "I am Atlin, thank you for your aid," she speaks, looking back to the woman happily devouring her food and then to the 'Not Giant' man. "I see, but your height is not typical of a human man, correct?"

Certainly she'd seen plenty of males now since coming to the city, but a month or two and less than a handful of cities didn't give you a picture of the entire population after all.

A look back to Aisling, there's a slight nudge with her elbow, clearly unaware of the faux pas. "This is strange though, no? Do you find it strange?" Well, stranger than foreign women in weird clothing accosting you anyway.

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein 's brow raises a bit and says "I take it your not from around here, but no not a lot of people around my size, few guys I hang around with and play b-ball with but most of them closer to the 7 foot mark, I am probably one of the larger guys you will meet out and about." He offers

Aisling Caroll has posed:
Aisling's phone buzzes, a text no doubt, which she looks at. A few seconds later she stands up, slides the phone in her jacket and grabs her trash. "Pleasure meeting you both, but I have an emergency to attend to!" and with that, she's off.

Atlin has posed:
Atlin shakes her head, a confirmation that she was indeed not a local. "I have known women similar in stature from my homeland, but they were warriors, not those who played games by profession." Yes, she'd been in the city long enough to understand what basketball was...although that was mostly due to interactions with Katsumi and explainations. Still whatever worked!

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein smiles and says "Oh, I don't play professionally, I'm a mechanic, and part time teacher." He will hear his order called out and says "Yours should be up in a moment, I'll get mine and yours." He offers and heads to get the food "Brb." He offers

Atlin has posed:
"I see," she speaks. Of course, professional athletes were only a concept she'd learned of recently too, but Atlin simply kept the confusion to herself. Instead she watches the man depart to retrieve her food, waiting for his return before she speaks again. "You are a teacher you said? A teacher of what exactly?"

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein will set her food and drink down, since she did not order one he got her a bottle of water. He sits down opposite her, and says "I teach physical education, and shop class, at Happy Harbor." He tells her where he teaches "Where are you from, if I may ask, only seen one lady around my height, and she is part of the Titans."

Atlin has posed:
Atlin's burger is placed in front of her, regarded closely for a moment before tilting her head to the side and lifting it toward her mouth. "I am from Bana-Mighdall," she offers in explaination before shrugging her partially bared shoulders. "It is not a very well known place, and it is not a country open to outsiders. Few are familier with it and fewer still have been there."

Albert Rothstein has posed:
Albert Rothstein nods, and says "Don't think I have heard of it, but I take it there is something special about it, with you asking me about the Asguardian giants, I figure you guys are a bit of a lost race like them?" He asks munching on his first burger.
