Synopsis: Spider-Man meets the mysterious Atlee.
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Atlee

Peter Parker has posed:
Metropolis. The City of the Future.

It certainly LOOKS nice and clean and futuristic, but there is no such thing as a utopia. And crime happens, even in Superman's City. (Hey, don't blame him for it.)
Some criminal groups have been reaching out to other groups in NYC and Gotham City, and a Manhattanite has decided that MAYBE he should do something about it.

So, as a rather solid-looking transport truck heads through the streets of Metropolis, it is unaware of a certain red-and-blue-suited individual closing in on it.

No, not SUPERMAN. He's off saving some island in Indonesia right now. And the wiry-looking hero swinging along the rooftops isn't his Gothamite counterpart, either.

Nahh, it's just Spider-Man, getting closer to the truck and its contents.

Atlee has posed:
It wasn't really something she paid attention to. The overall comings and goings of humans was not something she was heavily aware of. Trucks, cars, etc. moved about regularly and it didn't seem important to her mission except when they moved erratically. So, she was simply back in the tri state area, moving around in the air, looking at the various people as they come and go.

Then, she spotted something odd. Well, two things that were odd. One, that truck moving around was probably the heaviest she'd ever noticed of that size. It was an interesting anomaly but what was more interesting was the strange figure swinging about. She had to think about it for a long moment before it came to her and she swooped as he swung.

"Hello." Atlee states with a simple enough smile, floating along on a large rock, "Are you Spider-Man?" She seems to easily bob and move with him as he swings, following his up and down trajectory.

Peter Parker has posed:
No imminent threat, so no little tingle of the Spider-Sense. Just cruising along and POW, FLYING PERSON in the area. There are a LOT of them in Metropolis!

Maybe he should invest in a radar plugin for the mask.
He tumbles in midair, a comical wide-eyed look on his masked face, before he fires another webline and is back in the groove, as it were. "YIKES! Uhm...yeah, that's me, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, accept no substitutes, post no bills..."
He stops, realizing his mouth runneth over, and says, "Uhm, who are you?"

Atlee has posed:
"I'm a friend." She states, "And you are a known hero." She nods her head, "At least that's what I have seen of you." She nods her head, "So, when I noticed an odd truck and you following it, I assume that something is wrong with said truck?" She asks and looks at him as they fly and swing respectively. She turns her gaze toward the truck and then back to him.

"I would hate to simply stop the truck if this is a common one and a common occurence." She nods her head and then looks again to the truck, floating slightly lower as they move to get something of a closer look at it.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey shrugs. Her name is her own, and she certainly doesn't owe it to him, that's for sure.
"Well, Miss Friend, that truck down there is carrying weapons. Hybrid laser rifles, using Chitauri power cores. Someone in New York sold them to a local supplier and I'm tracking it back to the buyer. There's about 40 rifles and one exo-suit with a heavy-duty version of the laser bolted onto it. Thing is, it doesn't seem to be headed for Suicide Slum, so I'm wondering who it's going to."

Atlee has posed:
"Chitauri." She seems to pause in thought even as the rock she stands on simply keeps moving. She looks at the truck and then nods, "The beings that worked with Loki." She nods her head and flies along with him, "Then that is very bad. All of that seems very bad. But wait? You want them to go to where they are going? I can halt their progress now before the people who want to get them have them." She looks at him, "Is this some kind of investeigation?" SHe asks him and then looks to the truck below, "I have never been involved in one of those."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey swung wide as the truck turned. "It is, indeed, miss. Stopping them is definitely planned, but knowing who they were going to is useful information. Besides..." He scans the road below him, with vehicles and pedestrians moving in their own pathways and lanes. "...I'd like to come in in an area that minimizes the risk of people getting hurt, even if by accident."

Atlee has posed:
"Ok, that works for me." She states as she moves along and then looks ahead to where they are going, "THough I could simply pull them into the ground part of the way and halt them with no problems, I imagine." She states and nods her head, "You are the professional, however, and I will follow your lead." She gestures for him to swing the lead the way though she tends to more or less stay beside him, "I am curious more about who is supplying these things then who is buying them."

Peter Parker has posed:
"Well," Spidey begins as he keeps high above any sight line the truck driver or passengers might have, "...originally, it came from a storage site for the bootleg stuff, probably by the Santori Family, they have people in that area. They don't move the stuff, but can get people in touch with each other. The KingPin or one of his power brokers put it together...I dunno who ordered the rifles, but I doubt they were selling cheap. Probably for major-league heists or..."
He pauses. "We're getting close to the waterway, and there are warehouses coming up. Can you do that thing you said you could do at that intersection half a mile up?"

Atlee has posed:
"I see." She states and nods her head, "And I certainly can." She nods her head and then flies along with him, "Just tell me when and I'll sink them halfway down, they won't even be able to open the doors." She smiles and nods her head, "SHould be no one getting hurt."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey nods. "Watch the warehouses, though. If the buyers are close, they're going to send people out. I'll go on ahead. Give 'em the business, Miss." He gives Atlee a quick salute, then goes for a steeper swing to accelerate towards the truck as it approaches the intersection.

This could be something worth seeing...

Atlee has posed:
Smiling, she nods her head and gives him a thumbs up before she rushes ahead. She takes off like a shot, flying at pretty incredible speed toward the intersection before she flies in to a stop right before the truck and then smirks as they move toward her. She then reaches out and pulls. A moment later the asphalt under the truck seems to almost turn liquid as the truck simply sinks into it as if it were water. She pulls and reaches, seeming to push the asphalt up as the truck boes down till it seems to glide to a stop and simply be caught, halfway into the ground with the doors, wheels and sides all perfectly encased as if it belonged there.

Peter Parker has posed:
Wow. Okay, that's...pretty impressive. Certainly puts sticking to walls in perspective. And the truck is sunk pretty low, like the street went to quicksand and it drove into it like some kind of invisible puddle before it hardened again. Inertia pushed the driver and passenger forward against the dashboard, but a loud metallic clattering from inside suggested that anyone in there was having a bad day.

When it stopped, Spidey landed on the side of the building facing the truck, eyeing Atlee's handiwork. Simple, straightforward, and no pro-

A lance of blue light speared out from the right side of the truck, cutting a hole in the side of the truck.
He KNEW he shouldn't have said that last bit. His HUD picked up five armed gunmen coming from the warehouse to the northeast.
"Miss! Five incoming, northeast corner! See what you can do about them!" He looked from her to the guy in the exo-suit, with a bleeding lip and a furious eye revealing his rough landing inside the truck.

Some days, you're better off staying in bed...

Atlee has posed:
Her hands on her hips, Atlee seems pretty pleased with the results of her work till she tenses and takes a step back at the sight of the cutting laser ripping out of the truck. She's about to try to do something about that when she hears Spider-Man call out. She turns to look toward him and then looks in the direction he indicated. SHe pauses a moment and frowns. They were near that pier and all that water. Her senses weren't as clear as normal.

"I got them! Can you handle that?" She asks and sort of melts a rock up from under the street and flies up into the air. GLancing back at the suit and then to Spider-Man. SHe doesn't really wait for a response and races toward the warehouse where she pulls rocks from below with her, having them float beside her and in front of her.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey looks at the guy in the suit. "I'll let you know!" he calls out, and then the laser fires.

The five guys from the warehouse are armed with normal weapons - three with rifles, two with pistols. They don't seem to stand on ceremony, getting right up to the border before simply opening fire at Atlee.

Spidey springs to the left, the blue beam following him as he stops, ducks, then jumps up and over to the roof of the truck. As he arcs over the exo-suit, he fires two web-nets to pin the feet of the suit to the floor of the truck bay, the other at the laser-arm to try at glue it in place.

Atlee has posed:
A shrug and Atlee turns her attention back to the guys who open up at her. She starts calling up more rocks from below as she flies to the side, using a small wall of stone to protect her from the gun fire before she returns fire. Several rocks burst into shotgun like projectiles, not moving fast enough to do damage like real shutgun pellets but certainly fast enough to cause major havok and discomfort.

"I'll have these guys wrapped up fast!" She calls out, "Then I'll come back around!" And she flies over the guys, sending chunks of the rock she is flying down upon them before jumping to another rock and riding it down to the building to keep firing in an attempt to first get them down and then knock them out.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man lands inside the opened truck bay, reaching in to pull the power core from the rifle of the exo-suit. He tosses it aside, then glances to the guy trapped in the suit. "Don't go away."

He hops up again, webbing the door windows in case the driver and company get inventive, then looks over ar what Atlee is doing.

The shooters are getting pelted with some very hard masonry and stonework. Two of them are knocked cold, but the other three are pelted with enough hard projectiles to break bones, causing them to drop their weapons and make sure they are in no condition to pick them up again.

Not a bloodless victory, but everyone here is going to the hospital, not the morgue, and sometimes that's the best you can hope for.

Spidey dials up 911 as he waves to Atlee. She certainly makes it look easy.

Atlee has posed:
Once all the men are down, she flies back by to survey the truck and then looks to Spider-Man. She nods to him before giving a way, "Good working with you, Spider-Man. You do this world proud and are a true hero." She looks into the distance and then down at the ground, "I'm sure there's more to be done." She nods her head, "And as such, I will be heading out. I'm glad I could assist you today!" And then she waves once before flying right at the ground and then disappearing into it as if it were water.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey blinks twice as she just...dives into the ground and disappears. "Uhmmm...thanks...?" he says, feeling a little puzzled.
Okay, MORE than a little. He doesn't know a thing about her.

...Other than the fact she didn't quite keep her legs in proper diving form. The French judge would be dinging her points for THAT, let me assure you...
