Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, James Barnes

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The Playground is now their new home. Smaller, less Agents but perhaps more knit together considering they are all in the same 'boat'. Having gone dark, escaping the government's notice. It's not easy for many, and certainly not for Daisy. But she has a purpose, and a battle to face.

It's that purpose that leads her here today, to the shooting range.

Daisy comes in dressed in the usual black and blue uniform that is traditional of her, the only change being she not wearing those tech gloves that were a common sight in previous mission, or sometimes even on the day to day in the Triskelion. And as the sound of gunfire is heard on the range with a few agents on the line, practicing, she lets her eyes roam the gathered, searching.

She had word the particular Agent she was looking for would be here today.

James Barnes has posed:
Not a great deal had changed for Barnes, in truth. Even when SHIELD was SHIELD, he was kept under wraps for various reasons. They didn't trust him, or they simply didn't want anybody knowing exactly where to find him. Either way, it meant that the switch to the Playground had been much easier for him. He didn't need to be told twice to jump ship when HYDRA reared their head.

At the moment he's not making use of the range itself. Rather, he's cleaning what looks to be a heavy firearm of some description. A SAW to be precise. It is laid out in an orderly array on the table before him as he carefully scrubs and greases each part, reviewing them critically.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Not finding Barnes on the range has Daisy quirk a brow. Well, that only means she'd have to hunt deep-- Ah, there he is. And with a SAW, of course.. Daisy finds herself smiling and turns to start approaching Bucky, the sound of her approach muffled by the cadence of gunshots heard from not too far away. Yet even with the sound being muffled there soon is a shadow on the man.

"Planning on wrecking our shooting range with that?" The young agent asks, thumbs resting relaxedly on her belt and her brown gaze going up and down on the gun first, then on the man. She smiles at him.

"Good to see you again, Agent. Been a small while. How are you doing?" They had met on a few sporadic missions in the past.

James Barnes has posed:
"Just keeping it clean," Barnes murmurs without looking up, lifting part of the disassembled weapon up to his eye and gazing down the length of it critically, "Not planning on wrecking anything."

He hears the question, and takes a moment to lay the pieces down before turning to face Daisy fully.

"About the same. You?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I wish I could say that but .., yea." In fact there was somewhat of a change in Daisy's eyes. More mature? Or perhaps just haunted by something. She looks around the range again a bit before moving over to sit down not too far from James, "... lots of changes. Happening fast, some would say too fast." she rests her elbows on her knees.

"Yet maybe that's how it's supposed to go." She lifting her shoulders in a brief shrug. She is quiet a moment before finally speaking up, better go direct to the point, "I am coming here today with a proposal.." she begins, "Fury has tasked me with creating a team, a special team.. Of people like us.." with powers, ".. to protect and deal with super powered threats, or to help those in the same condition we are." a pause, "Very off-the-books.."

James Barnes has posed:
"Change is change," Barnes replies, clasping his hands before him pensively, "When I was a kid, most of the cars you saw puttered along on bike tires. After I enlisted, Howard Stark was showing off a flying car and helping turn my friend into a superhuman. Now, you've got these things."

He pulls his smart phone from his pocket, holding it by the corner and waving it vaguely through the air.

"It's all just perspective, I guess."

As he listens to her, he raises an eyebrow: "What, like another Avenges? Don't we have enough of those?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"You should talk with Coulson to get a ride on Lola someday.." Daisy chuckling briefly while listening, gaze turning to the man's phone, "Perspective, mm? Makes sense. But not everyone adjusts easily." a pause as she regards the man again. ".. You should know.." a faint smile to her lips but she doesn't continue further on that line of thought. Instead she shakes her head a bit at those last words.

"Not exactly." She straightening back up on her seat, "It'd mostly be comprised of SHIELD agents, or those affiliated to us. And not exactly focused on the giant, galactic threats like the Avengers are, but more on a smaller scale." she gesturing with her hand. "The recent attacks on mutants, the hunt on Inhumans ..." she frowns faintly.

James Barnes has posed:
Barnes lets the talk of adjusting pass without saying anything. The struggle with that is his own, and he keeps it private. Unlike his time-displaced compatriot, he hasn't really made an effort to catch up. Rather he just takes new things as they come.

"Uh huh," he says, nodding his head slowly in reply. He weighs up the options for a moment, clicking his tongue against his teeth before squinting up at her: "You're not gonna put us in colorful costumes, are you? You know that thing Steve wears was something they made for him for USO Shows, right? I can't believe he's still wearing it ... "

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The non-response is noted. It was indeed true that many of their Agents dealt with trauma in their own way. Or what the past had been for them. And where it came to traumatic pasts Bucky did seem to have won the .., 'lottery'. Though he was still here. And that said something.

Daisy waits patiently while Bucky considers those options, hand up to brush over her dark hair and she folding her arms together. The question about the colorful costumes has her quirk the side of her mouth up in a bit of a smirk. "I make no promises. Are you saying baby blue is not your color?" she has a near-attempt at a serious face at that but then finally shakes her head, chuckling briefly.

"No, no need for costumes. With us being off the books it will even be better we don't fully resemble or appear to have any links to SHIELD when out there." she explains.

James Barnes has posed:
"If you don't want us to look like SHIELD, then I'll tell you this for free - boycott sunglasses. Nothing makes a spy stand out like sunglasses. They could have twenty years in the Trade and they still think sunglasses are cool. Makes them stand out."

Barnes doesn't let on where exactly this knowledge comes from, instead moving on to offer a curt nod of his head as he drums his fingers on the table in a brief report.

"Alright. I'm in. But if you start fitting us for capes, you're on your own."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"That's uh..., that's sort of specific." About the sunglasses! It makes Daisy look at Bucky a bit suspiciously. "Clearly there is a story behind it.." and has she been found guilty of wearing those in the past while on mission? Perhaps a couple of times! Regardless, she clears her throat and then grins as Bucky accepts to join in. "Welcome aboard then." she seems quite pleased with the outcome. "I still got a couple of others to talk to but soon enough we should be ready."

She starts getting back up to her feet, "No capes, no uniforms. You drive an hard bargain Barnes." a brow quirking. "But I think I can manage to do that.." a brief pause and then she says. "I will be meeting a few of the other Inhumans sometime soon, you should come. It might put in .., perspective, what we are dealing with."

A nod, "Time for me to be going, talk soon."
