Date of Scene: 18 May 2021
Location: Bronx
Synopsis: Roland Livingston is walking through the Bronx, when he comes upon -- GASP! A mugging!
Cast of Characters: Kainashi, Roland Livingston

Kainashi has posed:
Brooklyn was fine and dandy, but the Bronx was always her home turf. The warehouses and yuppie apartments thrown together with tech start ups and urban decay presented a world of confusing convolutions, and clad in black, the red-colored, scarred up figure of Kainashi was running along the courrogated roof of one warehouse, illuminated dully by the lights of the cityscape around.

Her ears flap in the wind as she leaps an alleyway, skidding against a roof before she takes a sharp right, one ear rising up as she purses her lips.

There are always the sounds of humans about, the smells of their world that run against those of her kind, and as she skids to a stop at the edge of a building, her head cants, listening for the sounds of CRIMES.

Roland Livingston has posed:
Roland, on the other hand, is just having a dandy time exploring the neighborhoods out this way, getting to know more of New York by the day. He's dressed casually in his leather jacket and jeans, with hiking boots. He's strolling along, studying his surroundings as he pads down the sidewalks, taking a chance to observe what he can around himself.

Passing by some folks he'll give them a friendly enough head nod after making eye contact, making sure that they know he's there to both make sure they don't walk into him and so that they know he's aware of them as well.

Kainashi has posed:
Her ear turns a moment, and the muzzle turns to the east. There's the sound of struggle. Someone calls for help.

Roland, from where he stands, would hear the call for help, and a trio of men pulling another man into the alleyway between another warehouse and a boarded up building.

Roland Livingston has posed:
When he hears the call for assistance Roland takes a quick look around, then turns to head in that direction, ready to lend a hand if he's able to. When he spots the three guys dragging some poor soul into an alley he starts towards them, moving at a brisk pace, "Excuse me, gentlemen, but that individual isn't going to go with you."

It's not much of a threat, but hopefully it's enough to get their attention so that they'll have to slow down or let the guy go. "I'm not one to let someone get kidnapped, you know, so if you'd like to take that fellow with you you'll need to deal with me first." And then there's a little smirk on his face, the young Englishman getting ready to see what the villains are going to do as he continues approaching them.

Kainashi has posed:
    The four individuals pause.

The three doing the strong-arming look at one another as they spot the Englishman, and one of them of course does the most American thing. He pulls a gun.

"All right, limey -- you're joining us in the alley. Turn out your pockets -- password, wallet, rolex, I want it." he states.

There's a soft sound of metal on metal coming from the alleyway as the other two bodily drag the poor victim down the alleyway, likely to rob the poor guy!

    "Please, don't! I-I -- I have a cat!"

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Is this a mugging? I haven't had one of these yet, usually it's bank robbers or Nazi terrorists or assassins hired by vampires," Roland says as he continues approaching, pulling off his watch. It's not a Rolex, but it is a very fancy Garmin GPS watch. "Why don't you let that poor man return to his cat? The poor thing needs someone to take care of it."

Moving to get closer to the guy with the gun, Roland decides to test how greedy he is by gently lobbing the time piece towards the crook. He waits to see if the man's eyes shift from him to the thrown object, then he starts to move inhumanly fast. While no speedster he's faster than a human has any right to be as he springs forward, attempting a disarming, and potentially bone breaking, chop to the hand.

Kainashi has posed:
"... Nazi... vampi-- look man, we don't need your life story. Your watch and your wallet--" the first crook states, stepping forward -- and as he goes to grab the tossed watch, there is the rapport of a gunshot as the bullet strikes the pagement when Roland delivers a chop to the gun-toting crook.

The cat-owner gives a cry of alarm as the other two men try to pull him even deeper into the alley, and that's about when the end of the alley starts getting a bit cloudy -- someone's unleashed a smoke bomb.

"... man, you just can't find an empty alley in this city anymore!" comes a squeaky girl's voice.

Roland Livingston has posed:
Following up his chop with an attempt at a punch to the jaw of the guy who'd just had a gun, he moves quickly towards the other bad guys, trying to get to them before they can get away with the cat owner. "Please return that man before I'm forced to hurt the lot of you..."

The smoke stops him short. He keeps moving, but readies himself for further engagement, "Don't tell me there's an Akkadian smoke demon now..."

Kainashi has posed:
"Akkadian whatnow?" the squeaky voice comes out again, and once the smoke clears, there's the guy who owns a cat, with his arms over his head. He is now also wearing a worn and probably discarded cat ear headband.

The other two men are currently tied, upside-down, and hanging from the railing of the fire escape of the abandoned building.

And far above Roland, there's eyeshine, like some sort of animal is looking down at him!

Roland Livingston has posed:
"Well, that was quite convenient," Roland says when he sees the bad guys bound already. He looks up towards the pair of eyes and nods his head, "Akkadian smoke demon. They're typically found in Southwest Asia, but the US is just such a melting pot that you never know what's going to turn up."

Looking at the cat owner he asks, "Are you alright? Do you need anything?" Always polite like that. "Would you like to call the police to come pick up these crooks?"

Kainashi has posed:
"I... just..." the man blinks, and reaches up to touch the cat ears on his head, and then he stands.

"I... kind of just want to go home." he admits.

The guy with the now shattered hand is still yelling in the street, and now has recovered from shock enough to start to slowly get away.

Roland Livingston has posed:
"If you'd like to go then I'm not going to stop you, it's your decision to make," Roland tells cat ears. "Go home and take care of yourself, I'd like to speak with the lady who assisted you, anyway."

He looks back over his shoulder to ascertain that the man he'd struck appears to be departing before trying again to find whoever it was that was watching from above. Regardless of if he can spot the eyes again he'll say, "That was quite good work you did here. Fast and efficient, I might not have been able to do better myself."

Kainashi has posed:
There's no answer. The creature with the eyeshine above seems to have vanished into the night, without a trace.

    ... almost like a ninja!
