Cast of Characters: Colleen Wing, Matthew Murdock, Jessica Jones, Tandy Bowen, Elektra Natchios, Selene Corvinus

Colleen Wing has posed:
Daredevil has been killing. Only, it wasn't our Matt. Our Matt at the time was off in Nepal with his girlfriend. Word had trickled, sometimes in the form of rumours, that doppelgangers from another Earth had invaded. It seems that The Defenders had picked up one of their own in the form of Daredevil.

DoppelMatt even approached Elektra to work with him, but we still know very little about this other Daredevil, except that he broke in to Matt's place and stole his Darkdevil suit and has been killing people. One thing is true for sure - they had to stop this DoppelDevil before he kills anymore. This isn't just about protecting Daredevil's reputation, but mostly about saving lives.

The assembly point was in an ally next to the building they believed this false Devil to be residing in. Colleen had finally been convinced by Elektra to stop wearing white tops when trying to be sneaky. Wearing a black hoodie with her katana in scabbard on her back, she has found some old plastic crates to sit on while waiting for the others to reveal themselves.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
After Matt's suit had been stolen he'd had Melvin make him a replacement, with the upgrades the armourer had been dying to try. So, as Daredevil drops from above it is in a sleeker suit than the one that was stolen but every bit as sturdy.

Rising from a crouch he nods to Colleen. "Hey, thanks for coming," he says, letting his senses reach out for signs of his double. "This should be interesting."

Jessica Jones has posed:
It's quite a shocker, but Jessica Jones shows up like it's any other day at work, or life in general. Someone should honestly take that woman shopping, does she even own any other outfits? Hopefully she does laundry in between, assuming she has something else to wear while her one outfit is in the wash. If you're a Defender, you should know her trademark, and pretty much only look by now.

Jessica arrives at the meeting point, at least in a stealthy manner, she knows better than to just waltz in the open. She keeps to shadows, she looks for other people to blend with, before breaking through to the meeting point. When she does, she quips, "Colleen Wing, owns something that's not white. Today I had a revelation."

"Daredevil has someone putting a hit on his rep, you made it real big, didn't you?" She quips at Daredevil, "nobody gives a fuck about killing my rep, it's already as damaged as can be."

Tandy Bowen has posed:
Tandy Bowen Walks to the ally, feeling awkward not having Cloak by her side. She's wearing a crop top of some punk band, ragged jeans, torn at the knee and ratty at the base, and thin chucks with worn down soles. She's nervous, never having fought a power enhanced human before. Never having really fought in a group. Much less without Cloak at her side. Regardless, she takes a breath and forces her forward to meet up with the defenders. "Hi," she says with more bravado then she feels.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Fashionably late.

The (former?) Hand Assassin known as Elektra drops in quietly from above as well, dressed in the red and black that is her trademark, a mask hiding the lower end of her face and hair up in a warrior's knot. A finely-trimmed eyebrow arches up at Colleen, eyeing that choice of attire and eyes dancing with brief amusement, "You do not need to thank us, you know we'd be here for you."

Gaze turns to look at the gathered, "Good evening."

Jessica's comment about the outfit brings a response from Elektra, "At least she does own a different outfit, mmm?" it's as if she can't help prodding even after bonding moments drinking at Josie's.

One last look at Tandy, "Good of you to join us." she is perhaps a bit surprised at the girl being here, though the nod appears respectful about her presence here.

"I requested for some extra help.. She should be here soon." she then says. "But we can get moving in the meantime."

Colleen Wing has posed:
"Once we've caught him... what is it we're meant to do? do we call that government agency - ARMOR?," Colleen inquires. The idea of fighting Matt, even if it's not their Matt, is a little daunting. Many of the defenders are exceptional fighters, Colleen included, but many of the defenders also have superpowers, Colleen excluded. Daredevil's super sensory powers make him formidable on a bad day.

"Interesting," she says with a small chuckle and stands up. "If only this were just another Hand hunt..." she wouldn't feel quite so nervous. There's a smirk returned to Jessica and she says, "Blame Elektra." She tilts her head, "Aww Jess, your reputation is as solid as your everything else with me." And the reliability of her never wearing anything other than that jacket.

"Hi.. Tandy right?," she says having only met her once before this moment. Makes glowing dagger things out of nothing.. useful skill to have. There's a smirk as Elektra arrives and she gives her friend a nod. She silently mouths at Elektra, 'Extra?'.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Greeting nods are given all around. "Seriously, it's appreciated you're all here, I feel bad getting you involved in what should be my fight, but this guy needs to go down."

He nods to Colleen and adds, "Yeah, we'll call ARMOR, make sure to leave the suit on him, it's better they don't see his face."

There's a nod about the extra help. "Anyone I know?" he asks Elektra before a smile's given to Jess. "I'm sure you could do your rep more damage, Foggy, Karen, Malcolm and I still like you last I checked."

As for Tandy, the newest member gets a bit of attention as well. "Glad you could make it, this one should be-"

He's cut off as he ducks a blade swung by a figure dropping down behind him, the sword cutting the night air where Daredevil had been a moment ago.

DoppleMatt has arrived.

Jessica Jones has posed:
One of those new creepy kids, Jessica doesn't quite know a lot about Cloak and Dagger yet, so Tandy gets a nod of acknowledgement but not much beyond that.

"Everyone can relax," Jessica quips once Elektra joins, "we're officially more dangerous than anything that creepazoid got." She grins at the suggestion to blame Elektra for Colleen's black hoodie, "it's okay, I blame you for most things already." She smirks at Matt, "I always said there was something wrong with you people. I think that's why I ultimately agreed to join this fuckfest of a group."

She then peers at Tandy and mutters, "you're okay with language, right? No need to filter with PG13 or anything?"

Jessica is slower than Matt to turn and face where she thinks his dopple might be, "dude, seriously? All of us and you attack first?"

Tandy Bowen has posed:
Tandy Bowen Leaning against one of the brick buildings that form the ally. She watches the interchange between the four adults with eyes darting from one to the other and back again. They're friends, allies. Her hand itches, she misses Cloak. But she's here now, and she's a part of the Defenders, which means she has a job to do.

She nods or says a quick "Yeah, that's right" to the small gestures or remarks of her presence.

Then turns to face down Jessica's stare dead on. "PG-13?" her tone dark and dry, an lacking any humor. "If you know what I've lived through you wouldn't even be joking about that. My life is R, hard. I might not have a cool leather jacket like you, but I've seen my fair share of shit. I'm here to help, not to be coddled."

right as she finishes mouthing off... why doesn't she ever think before she talks?! the doppleMatt drops down. She jerks away from the wall, and her hands brighten in an instant, ready to fight.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Her name is Selene." Elektra replies back to Matt at his question. "She has helped me in the past against the Hand." and that's pretty much all she says because then they are being attacked. She jumps back and out of the way too as DoppleMatt arrives at the meeting point, reaching behind her to get her Sais out. Maybe she didn't get the memo about keeping DoppelMatt alive!

Eyes narrow at the attack. One against four? Something feels off.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
The sound of a sport motorcycle can be heard on the far end of the alleyway. It cuts its engines just before it would reveal itself and then silence falls from that direction. With fighting seemingly breaking out in the alley, there's no response from that direction for a few moments before another figure appears in the shadows, stepping out of the dark, a woman dressed in all black comes from the shadows and stares at those gathered within.

Elektra knwos her, Colleen would likely recognize her as well. She doesn't move forward yet, merely stands there with her silver hued eyees locked on all those she can see so far.

Colleen Wing has posed:
But DoppelMatt is not the only one to arrive. Dropping down on the other side is a teenage boy. He's just entering maturity now but his body is ripped. No shirt, just pants, and the shadows seem to coalesce around him. He doesn't wait for introductions, instead of moves in.

A wall of shadow splits Tandy off from the group when he sees her summon something glowing in her hands. He moves like a martial arts expert, but unnaturally smooth and speedy. A firm punch is thrown to knock her back in to the shadows which feel solid and unyielding, then they dissolve and the young man dances off the wall to throw a kick at Jessica.

In the scant few seconds that The Defenders have become aware of this person he has demonstrates superior speed, strength, and the ability to manipulate shadows in supernatural ways.

Colleen nods warily to Selene as she arrives, but she cannot ignore DoppelMatt. She moves in on him and throws testing kicks and punches, not putting herself in to a position yet where she can be countered, but also not expecting if anything to land would do any harm. She doesn't know this man, only that he's a killer. But she doubts he can take them all on. It only dawns on her slowly that he does not have to take them all on, not with his ally behind them. There's something oddly familiar about him to Colleen, a tickle in the back of her mind that she has to push away to focus on fighting killer-devil.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"What can I say, I'm confident," DoppleMatt says at everyone's surprise he'd take them on by himself, well that is until his little surprise arrives. "Or maybe I had a plan after all Everyone meet the Black Sky," he says with a smug smile so much like Matt's but with a cruel sharpness to it.

Colleen's attack has Matt stepping and dodging out of the way, one of the kicks catching him in the gut forcing him back a step. He grins at her, "Not bad. But you're bringing feet and fists to a sword fight," he comes forward swinging hard at Colleen before twisting away not wanting to be focused on one foe when there were a lot to choose from.

----

Matt for his part goes for the boy, "Easy there, I'm not sure what he's told you," he tells him. "But we can work this out, no need for you to get involved."

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica is probably the wrong person for Tandy to take that confrontational approach with, as she casts her a baleful glance for a moment, says nothing and returns her full attention to Mr. DoppleMatt.

"Hey, so you like to pretend to be the nicest guy I know," Jessica speaks quietly, with significant venomous undertone, "I killed for less. Much less." She was supposed to be a good guy, right? Odd claim to make.

When Selene makes her entrance, Jessica quips, "we're recruiting straight from the Matrix now? Huh? Hope she got bullet time, I wanna see that in real life!"

Because the help DoppleMatt has gotten is a teenaged boy, Jessica doesn't expect his kick to hurt much, so instead of trying to block it, she fully commits into trying to surprise the boy with her own strength, bashing straight into him, meaning to knock him to the ground.

Once DoppleMatt calls the kid the 'Black Sky', Jessica snaps, "he'll be the Dead Sky if you send a kid after me, dumbass."

Tandy Bowen has posed:
Tandy Bowen jumps back a step as the wall of shadows cuts her off from the others. Though shadows are normally nothing to fear. It doesn't feel like Cloak's power, but ... these feel similar? The question is, are they similar enough for her idea to work? Without spending any more time thinking, she jams both hands, now full bursting with light. 'Come on, come on' she mutters, trying to force the shadows away, she can practically feel the fight happening on the other side. With a large burst of her power, she breaks a tiny doorway through the shadow but before she can step through and join the fight, the shadows reconverge cutting her off again. "Oh come on!" she groans harshly to no one, wanting to kick something. She thrusts her hands back into the shadows to try again with her light.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Black Sky? That makes Elektra blink. An hard feat to do. But there it is. She barely registers Selene's arrival beyond a look of relief at the vampire's presence and a smirk at JJ's quip. There are priorities though. And while in the past she might had forgotten about helping her allies and go for the knowledge itself she is a (somewhat) changed assassin. So she goes to protect Colleen ..., the Sai on her hand gets thrown towards DoppelMatt with an aim to distract him so he doesn't connect that blow on the young woman!

Selene Corvinus has posed:
This alleyway certainly has become a bit of a action packed little space, hasn't it?

Selene starts off with just watching, but when she sees a better amount of what is happening she steps further out of the shadows and toward wehre Elektrat is, initially before she looks toward Tandy and what the young woman is doing.

Tracking someone? A spirit? No, there's no spirits here, it doesn't 'feel' right in the air. This is... powers, mutants? Possibly. The Vampire's senses are working, her nose for blood trying to help her suss-out where all the enemies are here, including the one with the trick for shadows.

In the mean time, Selene looks toward Jessica, lingers a second-long stare before looking back to this Dopple 'Matt' that she's heard about, including the real one no less.

Two silver spikes slide down out of Selene's leather long coat, stopping as her palms and fingers wrap around their long stabby-surfaces.

Colleen Wing has posed:
Black Sky's attempt to kick Jessica.. failed. She was tough, and pushed in to his attack. His foot hits something hard, but he has superior durability too. He kicks off of Jessica's face and flips back. With a hand pushed out toward her, a shadow lashes out from behind her and wraps about Jessica's neck and starts to squeeze.

He raises an eyebrow as his masters copy speaks to him, "I am the bringer of shadows." His voice has broken at least. "I obey the Hand." Did he just call DoppelMatt the Hand? He charges in to Matt and throws a punch he knows will miss, using his own momentum to flip kick at Matt.

Selene is trying to figure out just what they're facing. Shadows seem to cling to his skin, coalescing like smoke as he moves. There is something primal about it, something ancient and dangerous. Something almost otherworldly. Inside him is a power, a corruption of what Danny Rand carries.

The light daggers do seem capable of cutting through the shadows that obscure Tandy's world, giving her glimpses of the fight taking place outside. As Black Sky focuses his shadows on Jessica though, the resistance to her escape from their veil diminishes.

Colleen frowns at this darker version of Daredevil. Not because of his suit, but because of his personality. "The lack of sword is for your benefit..." she says a touch more darkly than she intended but this guy is starting to get on her nerves. He's a perversion of everything that grounds The Defenders.

The sai from Elektra whips past her toward DoppelMatt and Colleen takes advantage of that to try and sweep kick the killer devil before her. "We're not here to kill you, we're' sending you home where you belong," she says.. she's fairly sure that was the plan. Not everyone is always on the same page in this team.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Don't hold back on my account," DoppleMatt taunts before his attention is seized by Elektra. "Oh, //you're// here, but we had a such a promising start to our relationship, you really chose him over me?" he asks before Colleen's sweep has his legs coming out from under him, He hits the ground rolling and is soon on his feet. "If you're the best this weak dimension can throw at me I'm going to be running this city inside of a year."

---

Matt frowns at the boys words. "He's not the Hand, and he's lying to you. It's not too late to give up and let us send you home,"Matt says fighting defensively, moving out of the way, countering, but not going for the knockout, trying to reason with the kid.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica had a smug grin on her face for just a second, that DoppleMatt was stupid, send a kid against her? So what if he had a fancy name, she was still hella strong, hella durable, and then the little monkey effin' kicks her in the face to leverage into a backflip. The momentary strike to the face has her dazed for a moment, stumbling back as she regathers her balance, "get back here you little shit!" Jessica snaps, growing annoyed with the Karate Kid over there. She was about to land the mother of all punches at the stupid kid's stupid face, until she got grabbed from behind by a shadowy tendril, she was going to say something explicit but is currently in the process of being choked, so it's kinda hard to express her dissatisfaction. Struggling with a kid was really embarrassing. Maybe it'd be less so if she actually knew what 'Black Sky' meant. Flailing helplessly, unable to even call for help, Jessica tries to actually use the tendril choking her for leverage, using her neck muscles to try and hang off of it, while launching a wild, desparate kick into whatever part of the 'Black Sky' she can reach. It'd be hella embarrassing to die to a Power Rangers fan. That is what kids are into, isn't it?

Tandy Bowen has posed:
Tandy Bowen steps back from having her hands in the shadows. This isn't working. She forms a single glowing dagger in her hand, and then closes her eyes. Her power flooding through her system, her body warming as it does so. She molds and guides the dagger to lengthen, to become a sword made of light. It radiates power as she holds the finished swoard with both hands clutching its hilt.

She takes an amateur fighter's stance, one learned from movies. With an instinctual guttural sound, she slashes the sword down, slicing the shadow in two. She dashes through the tare just made and takes in the fight quickly with a single sweep of her eyes, her body glowing with the power she'd had to call up to fight the shadow wall, the sword the length of her torso still held battle-ready.

She lunges at the trendil of shadow chocking Jessica, 'rated PG-13 my ass,' she thinks to herself snarkily as swings the sword cutting the shadow. The part that was around Jessica's neck deflating and disappearing, the other half retreating into the teen's body. She steps protectively in front of Jessica, perhaps just to get more a rise out of the woman who seems like a poster for 'who Tandy's going to be when she grows up.' She juts the sword pointing at the teen, "Who the fuck are you?" After all she missed the whole 'Black Sky thing' in every sense of the word.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Elektra had told her a bit about the people she'd be meeting here tonight, the ones she hadn't already known like Colleen.

Jessica was one of the ones that Ele told her about. All positives, obviously. But this gives Selene some agency when she sees the Private Eye in trouble. Having been using her senses to better track the 'powered threat' calling himself Black Sky, Selene rushes to Jess' sided jsut as Tandy gets there to cut the tendrils with her sword. Are physical weapons effective agaisnt this person?

Good.

Selene tosses her right hand outward sending three spiked throwing stars at the source of the tendrils, or what she believes to be the source based on her advanced hearing and sense of smell!
