Cast of Characters: Betsy Braddock, Logan Howlett

Betsy Braddock has posed:
The grand re-opening is being scheduled, and Betsy has promised to keep everyone that's an adult at Xavier's apprised of their invitation when it happens. But right now, it's just Betsy in the club on the first floor, standing near the bar. She's got sheets and stacks of paper spread out, and a tall glass with something clear and a bunch of lime wedges in it. She's currently fussing with a tiny remote in her hand, playing with the lighting to try and perfect the fade from one color to the next.
Purple hair is loose, and she's in a little black cocktail dress, paired with sky high heels, looking every inch the supermodel some people think her to be. Her head turns to look behind the bar to the gentleman there, smiling as he tells her that he's got everything stocked for the bar, they'll need more napkins, and another dozen high ball glasses at least. "Thank you, Derek. Feel free to take a break, if you like. I am more than capable of taking care of anything if someone comes in."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan arrives pretty much without fan fair. He is wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, leather jacket, and a white t-shirt with the writing "Road Rage" on the chest. Saddling up to the bar, Logan moves to stand beside Betsy, making lots of noise so that she knew he was there. Not that she probably didn't already know he was there.

Logan doesn't say anything, taking a moment to look over the place. From his expression it did not appear that he was familiar with this place, even in a previous guise. Looking left and right, Logan takes in the exits, entrances, and what might be quick escape routes. One never knew.

Ignoring Derek, Logan looks sideways at Betsy, his back to the bar where she is facing her paperwork. "So. New place."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy Braddock will slide a sidelong glance at Logan, brow arching even as she smirks. She shakes her head at Derek, a shooing gesture with her hand to tell him it's fine. "Logan. Such a pleasure. Decided on a sneak peek before the grand opening?" She teases, even as she sets down the little remote, and makes a note. "Just about in the city?"
She moves behind the bar, the sound of a refrigerator seal opening, before there's the click and pop-hiss of a bottle of beer being opening. She'll set a coaster on the bar near to him, before there's a Sapporo reserve. "I realize it isn't Molson or Labatt, but it is Canadian, so I figured this would be up your alley."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan snorts. "A pleasure. That's a first Betsy. I'll take it. Better than getting stabbed." Logan grins, and turns to face the same way as Betsy. "Yeah. Dropped by for a sneak peak. Was in the neighbourhood..." That was probably not true. "Just checkin' ta' see if ya' needed anything."

Watching as Betsy moves behind the bar, Logan grins as he hears the pop-hiss, his mouth already watering. "Naw, its okay. I'll take anything right now, as long as its wet and alcohol. Preferably cold." Taking a swig, Logan smacks his lips. "Not bad."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"Well, I can enjoy your company. I don't have to stab you, to do that." There's a chuckle, as she's amused. "I'm coming up to where I need everything for the re-open, thankfully. Just trying to staff up, and hiring as many of us as I can. So I can use it as another brick to paving the way for mutants to just be part of the population. James Proudstar was here earlier, and I've hired him on as a bouncer. So it's a start. I'd ask you, but I'm not sure bouncer is the best job here, considering your senses. Unless you wanted to work VIP. Much quieter up there, with a... different flavor. I'm going to use it as a mutant and meta meetup spot. Trade information, get words out, help people find what they need. That sort of thing."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan looks back at Betsy, and raises an eyebrow. "That's good. It hurts." Chuckle. "So. A bar. I get it. Always good to get away from "that place"..." Obviously he was referring to Xavier's.

"I can't stay in that place longer than a few days before I get itching for the road. This place..." Logan takes another swig of the beer, which was better than he'd admit. "...it fits ya, kid."

"Proudstar. Good choice. Yeah, we need more places so the kids can move into society easier. Not sure if it will work, but it is a good try."

Listening, Logan nods. "VIP huh. I can help you with that. A lot of the darker places in society pretend they are VIP. I can keep an eye on the comings and goings, especially tha' "bad guys and gals". Sure. Especially with what you are using it for."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"Well, I've always had fingers in various businesses, but I thought a bar and nightclub, run by me, would help be at least a little higher profile for pro-mutant employment, you know?" She reaches for her glass, sipping. There's a blink, a glance around before she's looking back to Logan. "It does, does it?"
"Well, he's got the right powerset for it, at least, and apparently his girlfriend is one of us and in the closet at her current bartending job. So might as well take it on."
There's a curve of a smile. "I do love that cyncial thought process of yours, Logan."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan takes another drink, suppressing a burp. Wow, he was on his best behaviour tonight. "It's a good idea. You fit in here. I think you are suited for the role you are setting yourself up for, and ah know you can handle yourself if push comes to shove. Even without Jimmy and what he brings ta' tha' table."

Logan snorts again, and shakes his head. "Yeah. Been cynical for quite some time. Keeps those of us who have that optimistic slant in them from killin' themselves or others. I like to stay grounded. Saves disappointment."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Betsy Braddock laughs, a hand lifting to slide through her hair. "Most people don't know that side of me. I certainly can handle an awful lot, Jimmy or not, as you say. I prefer to not make a show of what I do, if I can avoid it. I still have a modelling career, and another I'm trying to get off the ground." She sips at her drink, when her phone beeps. She'll glance at it, and make an aggravated noise, "I need to head to my office. Zoom meeting, and don't want to be late. You all right here?"

Logan Howlett has posed:
Finishing off the beer, Logan puts the empty bottle on the deck. "Not bad. Might get a taste for that. At least its Canadian." Logan smiles, and puts his hands in his jacket pockets. "I'm good! Proud of ya kid. This is a good thing yer doing. Be careful, ya might change fer the better after all. Leave all that darkness behind."

With a right handed tap-salute on the brim of his hat, Logan heads out the door, calling over his shoulder. "Let me know when ya need me to show up, and I'll be here. Talk ta' ya later!" With that, Logan disappears out the door. "Thanks fer the beer..."
