One Night in Madripoor
Date of Scene: 28 May 2021
Location: Madripoor
Synopsis: The Outsiders travel to Madripoor to stop a weapon shipment heading for Gotham. They find cyborg zombies and Gamorra technology. NPCs: Hunter-Killers. Borgia (unnamed).
Cast of Characters: Conner Kent, Phoebe Beacon, Gabby Kinney, Hope Summers, Laura Kinney

Conner Kent has posed:
Madripoor true face is nowhere a nice as seen from the high-town hotel. But the expansive docks around Buccaneer's Bay are neither a shanty town nor a futuristic city of glass. These are modern but functional. And weirdly big for what is supposed to be a rogue city state in a small island.

Apparently Madripoor is the Black Market of South-eastern Asia. That is why. And Batman's list of places to check is long. To be able to cover all locations, the Outsiders split in two teams, looking for the weapons that should not get to America.

The problem is -every- place they have checked in that list is a criminal enterprise. If it is not drugs, it is endangered animals, or pieces of them, or stolen artwork. It is hard not to go in and beat up some criminals, even if they have nothing to do with their mission.

It is only three hours until dawn and they are just halfway the list. Next location is a small warhouse supposedly storing mushrooms. The normal kind of mushroom.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Mushrooms are tasty little fungus for use in tacos and as general meat replacement, if you don't mind the texture, or umami taste.

Neither of which Balm minded in the list. She was leaning a bit on her extending staff, content to play rear guard as she watched the area, the domino feeding her information -- ambient temperature, humidity, the distance to items. Her hood hid her hair, and the capeless armored suit in its dark gray melted into the shadows around the docks, content to let others do the breaking and entering part.

"Anyone care to wager? Drugs, weapons, more ivory or will this place mysteriously just have mushrooms?" she asks into the sub-vocalizer, clearly amusing herself.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I kind of hope it has mushrooms. I could use a snack at this point. I ate my last candy bar like two hours ago." Gabby reaches up to scratch her cheek beneath the white expressionless mask she wore that was reminsicent of a Kabuki mask. It was one of the remnants of her prior life. Since she hadn't really had much chance to be out in the field for ages, she hadn't quite finessed a more suitable costume. It was back to the plain black body armored outfit and Kabuki mask that The Sisters had always worn. Hers however was customized just a tad with a bandaid over one side. "What's it smell like, Sis?" She refuses to call Laura X-23. I mean, really. Though she does, and has, avoided using real names all night. It's just been 'Sis' when addressing Laura.

Hope Summers has posed:
Oh my, there is so much to see and do, and it's just a bit difficult to keep focused on the mission..Just a little. But she is a soldier, and missions is what she does. After wandering around a while, it seems the next potential location has something to do with mushrooms. She frowns. "Mushrooms? Why mushrooms?" well of course there is the illegal drug angle. Could be a potential place. "Sounds like a drug warehouse, but maybe we'll get lucky..?"

Laura Kinney has posed:
Ahh Madripoor. A lawless place where anything can be bought if you have the money and know who to ask. And totally not the sort of place a normal older sister brings her family along while hunting criminals transporting highly dangerous weapons.

Of course Laura isn't really the sort of person anyone would describe as normal. And with all the time she's spent hunting N.O.W.H.E.R.E she's neglected her siblings training.

"Mushrooms can actually be a highly lucrative smuggled item," she informs solemnly. "Truffles for example are worth more than many illegal drugs. At least in terms of weight."

With her enhanced senses she's been trying to approach the locations they've been scouting from downwind. So her nose can work it's magic. "While I'm picking up mushrooms there is a chemical smell and... If your bet was 'Dead people' you're a winner." A pause, then she adds. "Given the chemicals we should take precautions. It could be unsafe to breath or touch anything."

Conner Kent has posed:
It was white mushroom, champignon. Not too expensive, but still a normal, legal, bulk cargo for transport ships. But that is beside the point, since the mushroom scent is faint for those with enhanced senses, which means the warehouse has something else right now. And also, something dead.

The docks are not closed at night in Madripoor. The activity is not as intense as during the day, but there is none of those pesky safety regulations that exist even in Gotham. Trucks come and go, the shouts of the dock workers can be heard, and of course it is about to rain despite the heat, because spring is hurricane season in this area of the world.

There is a large man in a coat near the warehouse sliding doors. It doesn't require great expertise to notice he is armed.

Harder to see, but not too hard to enhanced senses. There is a woman perched at the top of a crane, so high it is hard to determine the details in the darkness. She is bald, and she is smoking. And she is carrying a rifle almost as large as herself.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Official shipping manifests state that it's mushrooms, for cooking, but this is on the list that was provided to us." Balm gives a little sm ile over to Hope after a moment, and reaching into her pack she feels around to see if she has any candy to give to Gabby -- candy bars are surprisingly good to have on hand for contending for some of Gotham's youngest victims.

"Mm, I didn't bet dead people. That... is a problem." Balm considers, and she narrows her eyes a moment.

"Anyone without self-healing, stay close to me. I can at least stop you from succumbing to chemical fumes." Balm states quietly, radioing to the other team that they may have a hit.

She does a sweep of the area, drawing to the side and taking a look as she pulls out one of those chocolate chip granola bar. It's a little melty, but still good.

    "... how hungry are you?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
The news of 'dead bodies' earns a sudden crinkle of Gabby's nose. It was hard to tell beneath the mask she wore, but the tone of her voice makes it obvious as she holds up a hand to stave off Phoebe's offering. "You know what, keep it for now. Best I don't have a full stomach going into that. Not like it's gonna kill me to be a little hungry." Even as she makes this statment her hands start to pat over her body checking her gear out of habit. Sure, she was a mutant with a healing factor and built-in weapons, but she was trained as a regular human would be. Some things stuck with you. Ensuring her gear is secure, and weaponry in place, she pulls out a rebreather to tuck into her mouth. It forces her to shove the kabuki mask ontop of her head to make room for it, but at least the small gas mask covers the lower part of her face. A thumbs up is given to them all. "Wead de way."

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers wrinkles her nose the moment her powers synch up with Laura's. She's not as experienced at differentiating the more subtle scents, but knows enough to pick up the scent of mushrooms, unpleasant fumes that nearly make her gag..and death. "What the heck..Dead bodies somewhere nearby?" even as she has to cover her mouth a bit from the stench, Hope tries to figure out where the dead body or bodies may be.lBut suddenly freezes in her tracks as she sees a figure perched up high.

"Hold it." she whispers out a warning, "Up on the crane, is she guarding something?" she peers around, wondering what my require a guard or lookout..

Laura Kinney has posed:
"I always eat a light meal that provids slow release energy before we set off. Picking the right grains will keep you feeling full for an extended period," Laura explains earnestly. "Given the chemical smells I wouldn't recommend eating any mushrooms we do find inside." She slips onto a subvocal comms channel and adds <I assume you've all spotted the sniper?>

She doesn't make any motions to indicate she's looking. Just a flick of her eyes. <People in Madripoor do still need to eat. So at least a few companies which actually do legitimate food inports wouldn't be unreasonable to encounter... Perhaps the owners of the mushroom shipping business were killed so their warehouse could be used to hide the weapons shipment? The chemicals could be an attempt to mask the smell or clean the crimescene..>

Conner Kent has posed:
An old truck rumbles past the young women positions. Slow, overloaded with crates of crabs and similar crustaceans. Food likely heading for the expensive restaurants of high-town.

Afterwards, the way is clear, and the small group can sneak closer to the warehouse doors. The guard there looks still. Too still. He is one of the sources of the dead smell. Yet he is standing straight, like a soldier.

Then the woman in the crane moves. She tosses her cigarette away and raises her weapon, aiming in the general direction of the group.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
BAlm uses the old truck as cover as she moves, the rumbling covering the sound of her footsteps as she moves to a better vantage point, vaulting upwards to the roof of the warehouse, moving smoothly along the rooftop, keeping her eye on her HUD.

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers pauses only a moment for the truck to pass before beckoning the other forward, but moving slowly, keeping to the shadows, ducking behind crates as much as possible. But it seems the figure up ahead may have spotted them."Everyone scatter, no need to give em a focused target. We'll meet on the rooftop, should get a good view there."

She nods to Gabby, "Think you can take the lookout quietly?" the dead body sitting upright gets her attention too, but they might be able to sneak by that one more easily. She's not sure how tough it'll be to take out an undead creature quietly.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney was actually rather good at sticking to the shadows when she had to, and so she does just that. Following the lead of the others she uses her smaller size to help hide her location as best she can. At least until she hears from Hope that there's a lookout guard. Though her eyesight isn't good enough in the dark she glances up at the area indicated squinting thoughtfully before her attention moves back to the guard on the door. That guy gave her the heebiejeebies. No movement just managed to hit the uncanny valley for her earning a rather large shudder.

At Hope's questions he gives a simple nod. "Think it's too late for that, but... I can make it easy for you guys." With that she takes off. Not fast, simply walking forward into the light. Where she pauses to look upward lifting a hand to wave as if signaling the sniper. Mostly to draw her fire.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Undead soldiers? Of all the potential reasons for a corpse smell that was pretty far down the list of things Laura would have picked. Not off the list entirely though. Magic can animate all sorts of things and it's probably possible to operate a cadaver like a drone with the right technical skills.

Neither of which are going to make what comes next easier. "I guess we're doing this the loud way," she says, a slight roll of her eyes as Gabby volunteers for decoy duty. "Hope can you provide covering fire? I'll take the door guard."

Without knowing the 'how' a dead thing is moving it's tricky to know the best way to deal with it. However Laura usually finds the best solution to most problems is snikt them until they stop moving. Which is what she goes for now. Bursting into a sprint from where she was located when the sneaky approach failed.

Her plan? Hit the armed guard fast and hit him hard. Claws pop with the distinctive sound of metal through flesh.

Conner Kent has posed:
Too high to hear, but the woman on the crane murmurs something, probably to a headset. That prompts the guard to step forward, his head moving around briefly, and he spots Gabby because she is the bait.

"Just a kid," his voice is a deep bass, eerie. And 'just a kid' does not mean he is going to be nice. He draws a large baroque handgun and shoots three times in semi-auto mode. The flashes of the gun allow the others see a green-skinned, sickly-looking face. Perhaps a corpse, but his eyes are made of metal and glass.

The woman in the crane is not so easily deceived, however. He keeps track of the other three girls. The second Laura leaves cover a thin red laser beam will attempt to make a nasty hole on her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"... that... is not a normal person." Phoebe murmurs to herself,

<Balm team one; engaging with violent possible nonhumans at the Mushroom warehouse.> she states over the Outsiders shortband, and she moves, spinning her staff and looking to come down from her vantage point to establish a peremeter, hanging back and near cover as she steadies herself. Her hands emit a low glow along her palms, even through her gloves.

    <Heals on tap.>

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers narrows her eyes and nods to Laura and Gabby. She's actually kinda curious if Balm can cause real damage to those zombies but it'd be risky. For now she sets her sights on the sniper, pausing a moment or two as she focuses carefully, aiming it at the sniper on the crane and squeezing the trigger.

They are already aware of intruders but as long as the others stick to the shadows, at least it'll be harder to target them. But Hope steps out into the open, synching with Laura's healing powers and using her gun to shoot at the sniper, hoping she can hit at this range or at least draw her fire, keeping an eye out for other zombie guards too.

<<Gabby, Laura, Balm, hurry, I'll join you soon as I can.>>

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney doesn't yelp or cry out when the guard fires at her though she was surprised at the use of energy weapons. The 'just a kid' that he had aimed at falls down to the ground in one crumpled heap. At least long enough for the others to move forward. One eye cracks open to survey the area again before she pushes herself up to her feet and once more slips to the shadows in spite of the glaring holes through her chest. There's a little wheezing of breath as one lung had been burnt through but she was already starting to heal. <<Be there in a sec. Right behind you,>> she assures while reaching back to pull out the solitary katana (her size of course) from it's sheath on her back. With it out, and the guards presuming her dead, she dashes for the crane to begin climbing with quick, deft movements. <<Sniper going bye-bye in a minute if you can keep her distracted, Hope.>> And once there, the katana is swung out and up aiming for all those nice easily bleeding points behind the knees where the major artery and important muscles are.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura gets the pleasure of experiencing the sudden searing sensation of a high powered laser burning a neat hole through her. It should have been a kill shot. In most people it would have been. X-23 is not most people.

Her healing factor, enhanced by Balms power, knits flesh and bone back together in seconds. Thankfully there's not even very much blood loss to deal with! The heat of the laser having helpfully seared her wound shut.

The lack of kinetic force behind the energy weapon means she barely loses any speed while closing on the guard with the handgun. It probably looks like she's too pumped on adrenaline to even know she's dead as she charges, claws raised to swat bullets out of the air and to then plunge into dead flesh, but she doesn't slow down. Nor does she die.

At the last moment she twists and pops her foot claws and sweeps low. The threat of her hand claws a feint meant to distract from her attempt to cut the zombie off at the knees.

Conner Kent has posed:
The sniper gets one shoot off, but then she is forced to seek cover as Hope fires her blaster rifle. She still manages a few retaliation shoots, but Hope has much better cover down there. And then Gabby is quickly climbing up.

Gabby has a good look at the woman. Green skin, large pointed ears. Probably a mutant or metahuman. She has piercings in the face and some obvious cybernetic implants, moving with inhuman agility and speed. That huge laser gun is a bit of an impediment to fight on the top of the crane, so when Gabby comes too close, she drops it and draws a handgun. "Who the hell are you?" Her voice has an odd accent, not quite Japanese, but close.

Meanwhile, at ground level, the guard turns to face Laura, but barely manages to get a shoot off when the girl is on him. Adamantium cut through his body, finding metal implants along with the slowly dying flesh. He is a cyborg, but it is hard to say if he is still alive, dead, or just dying slowly.

Whatever it is, there are a few more of them inside the warehouse, and Laura can hear them running towards the door.

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers frowns, Keeping up the cover fire until Gabby is in range, and she lowers her gun, not wanting to accidently hit Gabby instead. <<Thanks Gabby, will meet you inside.>> she wont leave until all her allies are inside, bringing up the back and scanning the area for any other hidden shooters.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The sniper got one shot off, but Hope is quick on the draw and Gabby was well up on her way to taking out the woman on the crane, so the Heals moves in. She shrinks her staff down, and moves back towards Laura and Hope, taking up the rear again as she moves with the ladies to the inside of the building.

Too late for stealth, they already know they're here.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura doesn't take any chances and makes sure the cyber-zombie guard is reduced to harmless sections in a quick efficient flurry of snikts. Making sudden darting motions, sudden changes of direction intended to stop any more sniper shots hitting her, as she covers the remaining distance to the warehouse.

She sweeps her claws in a big arc through the wall. Most warehouses are little more than steel frames with metal sheet sides so hopefully she's making a person size hole in the building. Lets just hope nothing important was being stored against that portion of wall!

As she kicks in the cut out section she hurls a flash-bang grenade in ahead of her. Making it less likely anyone inside will immediately open fire at her.

Conner Kent has posed:
Gabby manages to reach the top of the crane without getting perforated, but then she faces off against the green woman, who is a cyborged metahuman and experienced assassin. Stronger and faster. It is not an easy fight for the younger Kinney, but fortunately she heals much better than the sniper.

Meanwhile, another rotting cyborg slides open the main door of the warehouse and raises a baroque submachine gun, shooting a long burst at Hope and Phoebe. A second later Laura's grenade explodes inside the warehouse.

There are some shouts in Japanese, harsh commands to the half-deafened guards. Laura can see a line of metal crates on the floor, at the center of the warehouse. They are not cheap containers, they look like modern safety boxes, or perhaps chemical containers.

Probably not mushrooms. Nope.

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers only spares a glance or two through her sniper scope at the battle between Gabby and the sniper. Seems she can handle herself. With that in mind, she glances around for any other zombie guards and frowns, ducking behind something as one opens fire on her.

"Phoebe duck!" she yells as she returns fire, trying to cut a clear path for her team mates to proceed safely. Hopefully that flash grenade will give em the element of surprise and an edge on getting into the warehouse. As she brings up the rear guard though, Hope co to use to keep an eye out for more snipers.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe skids to a stop as the door opens, and she turns, ducking down as Hope provides cover fire, and grabbing one of her own smoke grenades, "X -- Popping smoke cover." -- clicking the release and slings it at the shooter, looking to get it into the warehouse itself.

She doesn't rely on her armor for the gattling gun -- she can't take a hit like that; that armor's not rated for heavy fire, but she translates into the the subvocal as they go.

"Flash grenade, they're calling the police, and they recognize we are not a street gang.

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura doesn't wait around for them to regroup, putting on a burst of speed to get herself into the warehouse, sniffing the air to try and figure out which direction to travel. Her plan is to find the people inside after all they're the ones who are likely to have brought the things the Outsiders are after into the warehouse. Or at least have information about what's going on here!

Besides people find it a lot harder to call the police when you're charging at them from a cloud of smoke.

Even as she runs her eyes flick from side to side. Trying to identify what's in the crates as she closes in. Perhaps pick up a telltale marking that indicates it's their target.

Conner Kent has posed:
Hope and Phoebe probably take a few rounds, but they both heal very fast. The cyborg in return takes a few blaster hits. He is wearing some armor, but the kind that would work better against ballistic ammo, not energy blasts. He falls down inside the warehouse, severely damaged.

Laura finds three more cyborgs inside. No normal humans. The boxes have some engravings in traditional Japanese writing. "How do you dare to attack Gamorra's Hunter-Killers? The Minotaur will have your head!" Screams one of them, charging Laura with a massive serrated blade.

The other two are pulling on gas masks, taking single shots to the doorway. All of them look more or less dead. From freshly dead or almost mummified. But somehow their bodies are kept functional by the cybernetics.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
T    Phoebe grips her hand tightly at the feeling of one of hte bullets penetrating, shattering through her humerous. She gives an anguished sound, and then, concentrating, she heals herself, light rippling at the edge of her wound until it closes, and then she breathes out and is back on the run.

<What even is this place? They're... not exactly living.> Phoebe denotes with a scowl as she pushes forward as the severely damaged cyborg collapses, and she goes into the smoke.

Her domino's HUD lights up, and she tries to flank the two wearing gasmasks in the peppery smoke, her staff extending again as she tries to dispatch the one on the right with a sharp blow to the head.

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers blinks and slows down just a bit as that translation comes through. "Wait, they want to call the police?! Does that mean the real bad guys are using innocents to do their dirty work?" still, Hope has her gun at the ready in case more zombies attack.

She is also scanning the area as they run through, looking for anything out of place. She'll even crack open some boxes to see if they contain things other than mushrooms.

But as Laura is swarmed by three cyborgs now, Hope hurries to join her, aiming her gun to blast through one of them if she can..At least they're not all undead. Should be easier to kill cyborgs right?

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura Kinney flicks out with a clawed hand, cutting the charging goons blade clean through above the handle, then following up with a flurry of strikes that more literally try to disarm the not quite dead cyborg thing. Taking it apart with high speed adamantium razor strikes. She has no ethical problems with putting something half alive out of it's misery.

<They remind me of N.O.W.H.E.R.E tech.> she muses over the comms as she makes a sudden leaping cartwheel to open up a line of fire for Hope. <But why are they wearing gasmasks when they're already dead...>

In accentless Japanese she adds, for the benefit of the goons, "Call this Minotaur and let him try."

Conner Kent has posed:
The cyborgs put a good fight, but Laura is faster and the adamantium makes a melee fight with her pretty one-sided. One of them stays back to keep shooting, but Phoebe clonks him in the head with her staff, and Hope's blaster finishes him off.

A superficial examination hints they had still working human organs, despite the necrossification of the skin and flesh. Possibly the lungs were still in use in two of them and they needed the masks. Probably the brains were still mostly alive, too, since they spoke like humans, not machines.

That leaves the Outsiders with the warehouse and the boxes. Are these the super-weapons Batman was looking for? Looks like it. There are documentation in the warehouse stating they were going to be shipped to Gotham in a couple days.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe lets the smoke clear, and monitors for police incoming.

The HUD on her domino shows nothing -- so far -- on official channels, and she begins looking for the manifest documentation -- anything that would have pointed it in the direction of Gotham.

    What a night.

She's keeping distance from the zombie cyborgs.

"So... what do you think... if they're already possibly dead, does this violate the rules?"

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers lowers her smoking weapon as the area is cleared. "We gotta hurry, cops will be here soon...Although I get the feeling it might not even happen in a place like this." Soo..What have we here? looks like they hit the jackpot. Hope opens a box, peering at the weapons.

"Hmm, they're zombies, don't think it really counts, besides, do the laws work the same here? Now..We should contact Batman..Grab some of these weapons and the documentation as proof. Try and shut down their organization...Of course, we could always just blow up the place but..Then they'd just move to a new place?" she frowns.

Laura Kinney has posed:
<We should probably only talk on comms,> Laura muses, motioning for quiet as she prowls around sniffing the warehouse for clues. <They might be dead but the tech could still be listening in. I wouldn't worry about the police for now, Gabby will warn us if we've got company incoming.>

Unless the youngest of Logans many kids is too busy playing with the laser rifle....

<I assume we take all the documents plus a few samples and destroy the rest? The mission was to stop this shipment reaching Gotham right?> She looks at the dead cyborgs and shrugs. <I expect they'll move to a new location regardless of what we do here. This clearly wasn't the brains behind the group. The one in charge seemed to be called Minotaur. We can always hunt them down another day though.>

Conner Kent has posed:
The boxes are the source of the chemical smell. A mixture of oils, drugs and exotic compounds. The weapons are dozens of cybernetic limbs and organs. Many of them obviously designed for combat. Enough to build a small army of cyborgs. Or maybe to upgrade a few thugs from every crime family and powerful street gang of Gotham. Definitely the kind of thing Batman doesn't like in 'his' city.

The good news is they won't get to Gotham, the bad news is they come from the rogue nation that is the Gamorra Protectorate in Parousia Island. Which means the guards were Hunter-Killer cyborgs. The soldiers of Kaizen Gamorra and the 'Small Lords' of the island.

Gamorran cybernetics are a well-known problem in East Asia, but so far America was free of them. Apparently someone is planning to expand the market.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
<Already recording and sending. And I'm not asking considering the laws. Madripoor is... considerably poor in enforcement.> she states as she flips through more documents, then folds them and slips them into a pack. <<Beacon to Team One. We've confirmed the weapons shipment to Gotham Tagging for immediate removal and pick-up.>>

As Beacon moves, her domino helping to mask her <... I was asking for me. I have the feeling of the four of us, I was the only one without a kill count.>

    Phoebe visibly seems to wilt.

<... but I have a feeling this is just the beginning -- that is a lot of augmentation under one roof to ship to a city like Gotham.>

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers nods, switching to comm. <<Right, I got the documents, let's grab a good sample of these weapons then I'll blast the place to bits.>> she nods to Beacon, <Likely..But hopefully we can nip it in the bud..Alright, let me know when you're ready so I can demolish this place..>> and as she waits for them to gather evidence she, will crank her gun up to the highest setting, planning on flattening the bu8ding, but onky when everyone is out.

Laura Kinney has posed:
<I don't think it counts if they're dead,> Laura assures, moving to check the dead mens pockets for phones and ID, before she goes to assist Phoebe with collecting the various documents. Once they've got everything she nods. <Think we've got everything we came for. I'll go outside and round up Gabby.>

There's never any suggestion that her sister might have lost the battle outside.

She slinks out of the hole in the wall and makes a signal to her sister. Time to get out of dodge.

Conner Kent has posed:
After a brief pause, there is a voice responding to the coms. <<Superboy to Team Two, we have been busy most of the night breaking up a human trafficking ring. Man, the cops are no help. Good thing you found the weapons. Need a pick up?>>

When Laura goes out she will find Gabby is okay. Or will be in a minute. Apparently she decided jumping down from the top of the crane was a good idea. And it was, since she dragged the green-skinned woman with her and she fled with a few broken bones and busted cybernetics.

Hope Summers has posed:
Hope Summers takes up the tail of the group, tossing a time bomb at the ground, then once the others are out, she jumps out a nearby window, shooting at the grenade from a safe distance, triggering a massive explosion that soon engulfs the building in flames and black smoke. "Bye-bye.." she murmurs before fleeing after the others, documents and weapons safely tucked away in the big backpack she brought along fir precisely this occasion.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
<<And to think I was excited about the possibility of mushrooms. Instead we got Gammorean Cybernetic Killer Zombies. Ready for pick up -- watch for our signal.>> Phoebe states, and she moves away from the weaponry.

Laura Kinney has posed:
In the few moments while Hope is charging her pew-pew gun X-23 grabs the zombie bodies from outside, checks their pockets, and hauls them inside to join the others. May as well get rid of all the evidence at once!

<I'm sure we can buy you some of the illegally imported truffles I mentioned earlier if you want Balm. Madripoor has a remarkably good food scene. After all what's the point of becoming horribly wealthy through the proceeds of crime if you have no-where to spend it?>
