Synopsis: Diana has heroic helpers at the ARts center who are helping set the place up for the big opening. Cliff Steel has volunteered to be one of these helpers and thusly they share a bit of social interaction together while setting up.
Cast of Characters: Diana Prince, Cliff Steele

Diana Prince has posed:
The Arts Center wasn't open yet, but tehre were a lot of staff and services people in it already. They were applying the last touches to the renovated building and bringing it ever closer to opening to the public.

It's a heavily anticipated affair too, and a lot of heroic types have been volunteering to help around the place. Help setup and fix things. They've all been assigned tasks and / or asked to do various tasks to get the party setup for as well.

Diana has been in a photo shoot for the place, she's dressed in her armor and has a dark navy blue cloak on over her shoulders and over the armor she wears on her form. She's coming inside after the photo op has wrapped up, walking with some of the people she'd been with outside, a smile on her red hued lips. "Yes, well, we will see to it that we're good and ready bh then." She says.

Cliff had been invited to help around the Arts Center, he'd been told there'd be food and drinks too-- free service in the Lotus Taverna cafe for instance, as it is gearing up to be an open cafe in a bustling part of Manhattan.

So things are lively around the Center, as it is now.

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele is still getting used to being back in the normal world; walls not randomly screaming or having to eat and sleep and ...do other things like a living albiet robotic person again. As it is, the one thing that he has learned from experience that can take his mind off of things is work. As such he is more than willing to help get things ready. Moving things is very easy for him to do and it keeps him busy. He shows up and smiles, at least, as much as one could see his mostly non mobile face smiling. "Ready for fucking duty" he says cheerfully.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana parts from the 3 others she was with just as the Robot Man is approaching her and announcing himself ready for... well, work, very eagerly, one might say. The 3 people that had been with the Princess overhear him and look back at him, some of them lauyghing while one of them looks a bit put out by the word usage the robot chose to emply.

Diana looks surprised at first, but then just laughs at him. "Well okay then." She says. "Uh, come along." She notes to Cliff. She turns and starts to walk toward the central hallway, that is lined with statues that are still covered in plastic or white sheets. "We have more of tese marble statues we need to move in to place." She tells him, as she looks at him. "You are quite strong, aren't you, Mr. Steel?" She asks in her accented voice.

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele says, "Rodger fucking dodger" he salutes and follows, waving to the ...fans....random people who randomly are amused by him? By now he's used to stares or amused rections. He looks around admiringly, enjoying what he sees. "Statues I can move. And I'm pretty strong, but not a heavy weight in the supers category or you Ms Woman. Er....Ms Prince. Princess Wom....anywho I can lift about 30 tons."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana walks beside Cliff on his right, her eyes going over to his own as she moves, her hands at her sides and her shining bracers peaking out from beneath the dark blue navy cloak she's wearing over her armor. "None of these should weigh that much. I do not think." She says with a smile for him. She looks forward again then as they move down the hallway with the braching off halls on either sides and soon to have the courtyard windows on Diana's right offering natural lighting from outside where the party is being prepared for by other people.

diana looks back to him then. "So tell me a bit about yourself, Mr. Steel?" She offers. "We have worked together a cew times, but I do not hear you talk of yourself very much."

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele chuckles and smiles, moving a statue with relative ease. He is a clutz when in a hury but as it is he knows that if he takes his time he can compensates for it. "Not that much to tell, basic story of Race Car Driver who gets in an accident with his family, gets burned alive beyond recognition and ends up in an experimental cyborg body years ahead of his time and becomes an adventurer and superhero. I mean, the lack of touch can suck sometimes, or smell or much taste except liquids, but I do live a long time and I can move statues.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana looks over at him again as he describes parts of this. She shows an expression of sorrow for the sad parts of his bluntly laid-out story, but then nods softly two times to the last bit. "Looking on the positive side of such things is the right way to approach them." She says with a softer tone to her naturally husky voice. "I am glad you are still here, and so willing to help, let alone put your new advantages to use as a heroic individual We can never have enough help in that department, tha tis for sure." The Princess states as they approahc a part of the hallway that is loaded with statues on palettes and a forklift that had brought them in, curently unmanned and left idle on the shining granite floor of the hall.

"Wellt hen, these here..." Diana motions. "We need to get these in to their proper places along the hall here." She states, motioning toward the alcoves in the hall's walls.

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele says, "What did that musical say, 'Always look on the Bright side of life'?" "Well, I try to help people, some people call me a hero, some people call me a microwave with legs, but not being a fucking dick is generally always the best move to me. And yeah, there are upsides." He would grin if he could and instead grins verbally. He salutes as she points a statue out and lifts it with ease, moving it to an alcove, "Were these things made on Paradise Island?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana laughs softly at the first part he says about the musical. "Yes, exactly. It is so easy to fall in the other direction, but it is far... better for the spirit to go for the positives." She replies to him. The other bit has her grinning at him and his use of cursing again so casually. "It would seem you spent some time with sailors too." She teases him before her eye sgo to the statues o nthe palette while he moves toward one of them.

"Tehse were... not, no." She tells him. "They were werecovered in the mid 20th century and kept in a warehouse in Paris. They are... modeled after the myths of Themyscira, when the artists in Greece only thought the Amazons were a legend." The one he picks up she nods once toward. "A warrior general. Antiope, without knowing what she looked like in reality." Diana smiles softly. "It is pretty close, all things considered." She tells him.

"You can set here..." She walks toward the alcove where a pedestal is setup for the statue to rest upon.

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele says, "Well, I recently did spend some time with a sailor in the dreamlands, but he was just as shocked by fuck or shit, but made up for it with weird curse words I'd never heard of but they sounded cool and piratey. They seem to invoke bilgewater, rats, barnacles and britches a lot. Oh and Davey Jones. But they are not fucking keen on the f word, no I learned this working with Pit Crews. THOSE guys swear. Almost as much as rock bands. And thats interesting, so you're showing art works based on your people but not by your people? That's kind of neat actually. And I'm amazed that people got it close, you would think that a bunch of dues making statues about women would either make them super ugly and scary or bimbos. Glad you like them though." He sets it exactly where she instructs.

Diana Prince has posed:
The robotic man's words are met with a faint smile or two at some of what he is saying about his past again. "I see..." The Princess says. "Well, I have been known to drop a curse word now and then, but not too often." Pretty much never! She's just trying to relate!

She shows the hint of a grin for a second or two before she lefts it fade away and her eyes go back to the statues on the palette. "Well, this Center is for the people. So having statues that were made by people not from Themyscira, is a part of the charm. I would say anyway." She smiles at him again. "That being said...." She motions out in to the courtyard through the large windows along the western wall of this hallway. "There are many out there that are directly from our island." She states. "It helps inspire people, I believe, to see ones done by our people... brought here to be put on display. We are trying to open up to the mortal world, after all. Such is one more small way to do so." Another smile is given to him before she looks to another of the statues on the palette that is holding a javelin above her head ready to throw it.

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele says, "Well, you're like a lady and a princess and a diplomat, so yeah that makes sense. I mean saying fucking all the time might make you feel better if you hit your hand with a hammer or REALLY want to fucking smash in the bad guys heads but people who have nothing fucking better to do than criticize would probably say fucking stupid things. I think you should ignore those people but I understand why you don't. And which people is the center for? Thymescysra (did I pronounce that right?) or New York or...other people? And if you find it charming that's cool." He follows where motioned. "And I did not know that there were a lot of Thymesca....amazons out in the world. That's kinda cool. Like Ninja Amazons. And opening up to the mortal world makes total fuckin....er...total sense." See, he stopped one F bomb. "I think its a fuck...fudging cool idea." He grabs the next statue."

Diana Prince has posed:
As he speaks, Diana picks up a couple of busts and walks them over to the smaller pedestals that are setup for them, each beneath spotlights that shine down from above to softly bathe the carvings in yellow light.

She looks back to him then as he picks up another heavy statue and she moves to show him where it goes. She smiles once more at him. "Them eh skira." She enunciates the word for him.

"And... there are more and more of us being given access to leave the island and live here to help share our culture. Thus this place is born of that desire." The Princess explains with a glance around them before her eyes go back to him. "This place is for all people who wish to know more about Themyscira. It is a cultural center, designed to provide... a place to immerse oneself. A place to feel apart of our island, and a place for our island to come alive in the mortal world."

She flashes a little playful grin then. "Or so we hope."

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele moves it with no problem. He isnt as strong as Diana but he has ...essentially limitless energy. "Them is w...OH Themehskira. I can pronounce that. Thanks. And its good that more and more people are doing that. I've been in this business ...well, you know, heroing not moving sculptures, a while and the crazy factor is only getting louder and larger. I was only gone three years and its...well its nuts. Having a place thats a home away from home seems like a good idea. Ideals and the like. And hey, hope is powerful and important."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana moves to the statue that he'd just sat down to remove some of the shipping materials from it. Pealing the tape off she listens to him and smiles again for a moment. "It most certainly is." She replies in regard to having an abundance of Hope.

Turning around then, Diana walks to the palette once more and rolls the tape and plastic up she'd just picked off of the statue to leave it on a bucket on the edge of the shipping crate. "So it seems you are in a good place in life then." She tells the robot man. "Your assistance with the Justice League has been well recieved also." She pauses then as she looks to him.

"I saw the footage of you in Times Square helping that young woman down from the advertisement screen. That was very kind of you to pitch in to help her down. I am glad that worked out."

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele shrugs, "Yes and no. I mean, life is one big horrorshow but I kind of enjoy the perks and there isnt much to do about it until Chief makes the upgrades he promised. Once this dream thing is taken care of I can go about finding him and if I can smell and feel then there are ton of perks. Mainly I'm just..you know..used to it." He smiles, "Oh that was real? I am glad to help but I thought that whole castle was some spooky weird dreamlands thing. Whats up with those demon hound guys?" He picks up another statue, "Oh her? That poor poor girl. Asshole down in the crowd was trying to convince her to splatter for..." he looks himself up and down, "This. And happy to help.

Diana Prince has posed:
She looks back to Cliff though as he further elaborates on his situation and it makes her pause for a moment, tilting her head as she stares curiously upon his face. "So you are being further developed then to feel sensation through touch, and other options?" She asks then. "That is very impressive. Who is working on this technology for you?' She then asks of him as she steps down to the next alcove and pulls a sheet down from the pedestal so that it is open.

"And yes, there are a lot of negative spirits in this world, for a variety of reasons. They wish to bring people down to their own personal levels of misery. It is... an issue, to be sure." She says as she fold the white sheet up in front of her lap.

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele says, "I have a finger," he whispers conspiratorily, "That's helped keep me sane that I can use to feel when I connect it, but yeah the Chief has promised..." he trailed off. He believed the Chief but it was still...frustrating. "And other options is a neat idea but I'm...well the Chief has a weird way of working. Some really smart people have looked at me. Niles Caulder made me, so he's likely the best to do an upgrade." He smiles, "Negative Spirits, that's funny, one of my best friends has a literal negative spirit but he's the most positive spirt I know. Sort of an In Joke with the doom patrol." He nods, "People wanting to pull others down is just...dumb."

Diana Prince has posed:
A couple of the people on site this afternoon walk past and offer waves to Diana, causing the Princess to take her eyes off of the Robot man and offer a friendly wave back to them with a smile as they stroll on by.

When he speaks about the furhter work being done to help improve his quality of life, Diana returns her eyes and smiles softly to him. "Well. That is an ambitious thing. But I have seen many artificial life forms that seem to have full capabilities, so I believe you are in the perfect time to start to get such things added to yourself."" She gives another smile before folding that sheet in to a trinable and setting it on to the shipping crate as well.

"If there are any you wish to invite to the event this weekend, youa re more than welcome to. Now that you ahve helped here like this, you should consider yourself a member of the Center and thusly a Themysciran enthusiast." She gives him another little grin then.

Diana steps over to the next alcove and looks it over. "Mm, the Pedestal wasn't brought for this one. I guess we will ahve to skip it for now then."

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele chuckles, "Well thats....neat." He puts his hand behind his head, "There was one person I might have asked but we're mainly friends and she would just as soon flip me off as go one a date. And yeah, the whole 'becoming human' thing is a common theme among those who are...robotic. I'll see if I can find the doc sooner rather than later. But seriously, that invite is...appreciated." It shounds in his voice and and is curious, "I could cut out a pedastle in the wall if you want. I have things in my hand that let me carve rock pretty easily."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana has her back to the alcove that is missing the pedestal and when he asks of if she would like him to carve one she just considers it for a moment. "Oh, no that is probably not necessary. I imagine it would be very impressive, but likely make a bit of a undue mess for the time being." She says as she moves a few items around on the shipping palette

"We are almost done here anyway. I can have this last one setup later tonight." She offers him as she motions to the statue. "You can place it there beside the alcove if you would be so kind." She states then as she grabs a box on the crate and opens it up to look inside. "Oh. I wondered where these went..." She says, putting her hands inside of the box to pull out a set of armor helmets. She lifts one up and stares at the face of it....

Cliff Steele has posed:
Cliff Steele smiles, "Alas poor Yorik, I knew him well, a fine fellow of infinite jest and the like" he puts the last statue where it belongs and dusts of his hands, "Done and done. I like keeping busy. It helps pass the time."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana releases a light snicker as she holds the helmet up for a moment and spins it around in her leather half-gloved hands. "These do not belogn here." She quietly says. "I will have to put them back in the storage area." She states as she sets thehelmet back down in to the box and slides the lid back over it with a soft click of wood pressing and sealing together.

She looks back to the Robot man. "Have you seen the Taverna? I suppose... not, if youa renot much of a food person anymore. Mm. Well it is a good place to sit and chat, if you would like to bring anyone by for that reason too." She walks to where he'd set the statue and nods her head. "Looks perfect, sort of." She grins. "We will have to get the pedestal for it. Come, I'll show you the courtyard where the main party will be taking place." She offers to him as she turns to walk to the western doors to the outside.
