Way Oh. On the Railroad.
Date of Scene: 10 June 2021
Location: Industry Roads: Salem Center
Synopsis: Remy rescues a horse. Rogue rescues a Remy. Clarice moves a Nicolai. Nicolai teaches a Clarice. Mystique ruins EVERYTHING.
Cast of Characters: Remy LeBeau, Rogue, Clarice Ferguson, Nicolai Codona, Raven Darkholme

Remy LeBeau has posed:
It's been an unusual day, as Remy has been missing much of it.

    That's not the unusual part.

The unusual part is that Cinnamon, a chestnut red horse with three white socks isn't in her stall for much of the day.

It might have been unnoticed for much of the morning as Cinnamon tends to be the tempermental mare nipping at most people she doesn't like. So her not being there might have been a welcome change, but no one wants the horse to be hurt.

It might have taken a lot of time, but Remy was eventually found way over in the run down and dying part of Salem, with the horse walking beside him, the two of them walking between the tracks, stepping carefully between the ties with the reins held in his hands. His pea coat has a few extra holes, or bite marks, along the lapel, arms, and the tails. "Waaaay ooooh. On the rail road." Remy sings slowly and certainly not on key as he leads the horse on a hell of a walk.

Rogue has posed:
Once some of the students noticed that the mare was missing from the stables, they'd gone to find someone and found Rogue. Thusly the Belle was sent out on a search for the horse. She took to the skies and started a aerial scouring for the animal, expecting to find ehr out of the fence and off on her own... which was sort've true, only she wasn't alone.

Rogue sweeps in from the skies and is suddenly coming up from behind them and flying along beside them. Her hands go up to her face to remove her sunglasses and she smiles at them both. "Well hey there." She says.

"What are we doin' out here?" She asks the horse, and Remy too.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy sings a bit longer without knowing that Rogue is behind him yet. "Draw a straight line from east t' west."

Remy looks over his shoulder, and Cinnamon looks over her other shoulder, so they're looking opposite ways towards the flying Rogue and Remy then shrugs his shoulders to her question as he spins to start to walk backwards and puts a red and bruised hand against the horse's neck. She rocks her shoulders and the fur rocks and forth sharply as if she's annoyed at the touch, so Remy pulls back.

"Ah thought she could use a walk, an' ... well, she ended up walkin' me." He says with a shrug of his shoulders again before turning and walking forwards again, "Ya out 'ere lookin' fo' 'er?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just keeps flying for a few moments longer before she touches down her boots on to the gravel beside the railroad tracks. She puts her hands in to the pockets of her leather jacket tha tis over a tanktop and she just smiles at the man. "Well, no." She admits to him. "I kinda never thought t'find you out here with the horse, admittedly. The kids just said she'd been missin' from her stall and nobody had seen her since this mornin'." She explains.

A few more steps are taken then and she looks down the tracks, then back to him. "I'm certainly happy t'see ya with her, and that she's not like, ya know... out here on her own. This is an active train track after all. Could be one by any minute."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy's hand goes back to have both on the rein and he walks along slowly and looks back towards Rogue with that smile on his face as he looks towards her, "Ah, she's safe, Ah thought she could use a bitta scenery change, a bitta freedom."

Maybe he wanted the morning out, but isn't saying it, but he does appear to be a little bit responsible in a way he's rarely shown. "She's safe." Is how he finishes it, knowing he wasn't a major thought of Rogue or even the students. Seems even the angry mean horse is more a staple than the cajun, and he can't help but look down at his feet, knowing in this moment that others still think he's fleeting.

"Yeah, we hadta get outta the way of three already this morn." The cajun explains with a look back up to Rogue's eyes and that hint of sorrow and truth he wants to let out, but afraid still to speak some truths.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has learned him enough to know he took that personally so she walks over to bump shoulders with him. "Nobody knew you were on grounds, Cajun." She says to him. "That's why we were worried about the horse and not you." She smirks at him. "Obviously I'd be worried about you too." She glances at the horse and then back at him. "Hell, I didn't even know you knew anythin' about these lovely animals." She says with a smile.

"My aunt had horses. It was the best part'a livin' on her farm." She steps around Remy and the horse to walk on the other side of the animal from which Remy is on. She reache sout to pet the side of the horses face, not afraid of its bites and its learned that Rogue doesn't react to them.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy has to step closer to the horse after the shoulder bump from Rogue but he doesn't complian, and Cinnamon doesn't seem to mind being closer to Rogue when she walks over and the horse leans into Rogue's touch.

"T'anks." The cajun says with a smirk, "Ah, learned how t'ride an' care for 'em and everything." Remy says, having cleaned several stalls, riden around barrels and even some equine agility... But he doesn't dwell on those thoughts long. Not wanting Rogue to be worried and start asking questions about his past.

"Ah, have picked up a few thin's since being around de school is all." He shrugs, lying through his teeth.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue smiles at the horse as it leans in to her touch, the grumpy mare knowing that Rogue is a superior match for its temper tantrums.

The Belle's green eyed gaze goes back to Remy then and she just grins at him on the other side of the animal. "Fair enough." She tells him. Her stare goes forward then down the train tracks toward the bend in them that curves down toward Salem Center's outskirts. "Has a train come by yet?" She asks him. "I was out here the other day... ran in ta Wonder Girl when that prisoner escapee group tried t'steel a train. We busted'em up good." She says with a soft and short laugh.

She glances down in front of her, her boots impacting on the rocks beside the tracks. "Never brought one'a the horses outta the yard before, never thought about it even."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
A tear in reality opens up on the road coincidentally close to Remy and Rogue - surrounded by a familiar purple haze. Blink does not step through, however - instead a pair on the back of a motorcycle drive through before the portal blinks back out of existance, both responsibly dressed in helmets that partially obscure their features. "Will this do?" a female voice comes from the back of the bike - sitting behind the figure driving the vehicle.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"You don' live ya life stuck in de fences, dey were never meant t'be behind fences mon cherie. vivre et laisser vivre." Remy says with a smirk as he continues down the tracks, with the chestnut red horse between he and Rogue as they walk.

At a railroad crossing, with the trio on the tracks and then looking out to the road as they're passing it, Remy says, "Uh, somethin's 'appenin Mighty girl." Stopping and tugging the rein's of the horse slightly to get it to stop too.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
Helmets, and on Clarice's end, riding leathers. There's no way he would give her lessons without them. It is Nicolai at the helm for the moment. He eases the bike, a little Apache RR310, not his usual Hayabusa, to a stop and pulls off hs helmet. "Should work, as long as we don't spook the horse," he comments as he gestures off in the direction of Remy and Rogue.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue hears Remy just as she's looking over to see the purple haze give signal of the new people arriving. She watches the motorcycle speed out and then sees the helmet wearing riders as they come to a stop.

When they settle in on the road, the Belle and the Cajun and the Horse walk closer to them, the horse needing to be calmed down a bit.

"Shhhh." Rogue says to the animal before she looks to the riders. "Well hey there." Rogue says, her hair blowing in the wind over her shoulders and a bit across her face.

"Ya'll didn't come from the future or nothin' did ya?" She asks. "Here t'conquer us all?" She's joking of course, a little anyway.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Ooo - are you open to a good conquering?" Clarice counters - pulling off her helmet to grin at Rogue. "Because I'm sure we could oblige. I mean - if you were interested, and all. But no. To the best of my knowledge, my portals are unable to affect time." She nods to Remy and Rogue before asking what seems like the most obvious question.
"...what's with the horse? It isn't scared of motorcycles, is it?"

Nicolai Codona has posed:
"Motorcycles can be loud, horses don't generally care for loud," Nicolai points out as he nudges an elbow back lightly into Clarice's side. He offers a wave to Remy and Rogue while explaining, "I'm going to teach Clarice here how to travel the fun way." Because lets face it, bikes are fun, so much fun.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Ah t'ink we'd put up a good fight. We as in 'she'." Remy says with a motion of his thumb towards the white stripped woman to his side. And not the horse.

Remy clutches on to the reins and makes sure the horse is stable with a cautious pat to the things side before he looks to Clarice.

"Scared o' motorcycles like you an Ah are scared of robots." Remy says, making a stupid joke.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue tips her chin up then at Clarice's words which has her showing a smirk a moment later. She reaches her right hand up to pull her white and brown hair out of her face and brush it back over her shoulder again. "This horse is magical." She declares. "We're takin' her t'the county fair t'make money off'a her special powers of... uh... comedy."

She's glancing to Remy a moment later and motions to him. "He's in the act too." She says with a smile.

But then her stare goes back to the two. "What are you two doin' out here?" She asks them. "Seems a bit outta the way for ya'll. Less you're just... joy ridin', I guess?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"I mean. Remy //is// a comedy act," Clarice agrees - her lips quirking into a momentary smirk.
And then she's scowling at Nicolai as she adds, "Portals are fun! What about portals is //not// fun, I ask you? Geeze." But her expression relaxes back into a smile moments later.
"Oh, I was just trying to think of somewhere fairly quiet and empty - but with straight roads, and this fit the bill. Not too much for me to crash into around here." Not that she plans on crashing - but sometimes it's best to be prepared.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
"...all on his own," Nicolai adds in regards to Remy. "Pretty animal. I used to ride as a kid but it's been years." He nudges Clarice again and says, "Ready to trade me places? Well, not really... you can't learn with me on the back. ...and nothing is as fun as 200mph on a back road on a bike." It really is a different beast, riding with someone behind. "...and if you do crash, you better not tell Mystique it was my fault."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy falls silent as he's being slighted by the whole group, and he turns towards Cinnamon, half expecting the horse to actually say something at this point.

But another pat against the equine's fur and Remy takes a deep breath before eyeing the two riders. "Jus' stay as fast as you're comfortable wit'. It's notta contest." The cajun explains as if he's actually helping, but really, he's hoping to avoid further Mystique talk as casually as he's able to. "If ya do crash, ya likely not telling anyone." Remy then looks towards Rogue and shrugs his shoulders, not sure what he's supposed to do next so he's asking the girlfriend for orders.

Rogue has posed:
"Mystique, huh?" Rogue says.

Much to Remy's chagrin...

"You're runnin' around with her, yeah?" She asks further. "Heard about you two stoppin' by the mansion the other night..." Rogue states further, glancing to Remy before she looks back to the bike riders. "Be careful around her. She's not what she wants you to think she is, as convincin' as she can sell it..."

Take that as you will.

She smiles softly then over at the horse and Remy before she nods. "Be careful on those things, they're a death trap. If ya wanna go fast, just ask me for a ride." Wait, what does that mean?

Flying, of course, you pervs.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Oh I will //absolutely// tell her it was your fault," Clarice counters with a grin. "But yeah - sure. I'm ready to give it a try."
Her attention shifts to Rogue as she listens to the woman's words - a wry expression growing on her features. "We did. And - well. You're singing a song I've heard before. I mean, not to say you're not justified, just..." She gives a shrug of her shoulders. It's not the first time people have warned her Mystique isn't to be trusted. "But maybe people can change." She pulls her helmet back on, snapping it into place, as she moves forward to take over the controls.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
"Is anyone really exactly what they're trying to convince everyone else they are?" It's rhetorical, he doesn't wait for an answer. What he does do is tsk at Clarice and tell her, "Nope, you don't just get to slide forward." She can't because he doesn't move! "You have to dismount and then get back on, all on your own..." Sure, she may nail it first try, but it's actually harder than it looks for some. He pulls his leg over and climbs off himself after dropping the kickstand. "Always start from the beginning."

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy looks over towards Rogue with both his eyebrows up and a shrug of his shoulders before he asks, "See ya back home?" Meaning he thinks they're going to ignore anything they might say and recommend.

Remy starts to move the horse, getting it into motion before he moves to the side and throws himself up and onto the horse bareback. Normally she wouldn't accept a rider, but maybe Remy has spent a chunk of the morning getting her a bit more broken and rider accepting.

Taking the horse in a circle, Remy calls to Clarice and Nicolai, "When she does betray ya, y'all bot' gotta welcome waitin' for ya at the school." He has to extend a hint of nicety, but he's not going to force the horse to hang out next to a motorcycle, that's just cruel of him, so he's starting to leave the area, riding down the train tracks once again.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's eyes are on Clarice up to when Nic replies to her. She averts her green eyed gaze to him then and flattens her stare a bit. "Captain America. Wonder Woman. Superman." Pause. "Mighty Woman." She shows a grin then after listing off a few people who are as they seem to be, by all accounts.

Her eyes go back to Clarice then. She smiles softly at her. "Just be careful. Around her, and on that thing." She nods to the bike. Then Remy mounts the horse and she glances over at him.

"Guess we're goin'." She says then to the other two. "Ya'll have fun, and stay on the straight roads, for sure.." She motiosn northward. "There's an abandoned airfield out that way, it's got a super long runway, if you're so inclined."

With that said, Rogue floats up to the air and mounts the horse behind Remy, her left hand going up to wave to the two on the bike as she smiles big and bright in the sunlight. She then looks forward to the man on the horse in front of her. "Where we goin', pardner?" She asks in a old timey southern accent.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"I always appreciate the school's welcome," Clarice answers. "But my place remains with the Brotherhood." She nods to the pair of them, watching them on the horse with an uncertain expression. Something about trusting an animal that large... I mean, the thing has a mind of its own! If she crashes the bike, though? She only has herself to blame.
"Thanks for the tip, Rogue." What - about Mystique, or the airfield?
She climbs off from the bike - waiting for Nicolai to do so as well, then approaches the bike, throwing her right leg over as she gets on from the left, and pulls the bike back up to level.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
He's never personally spent any time with any of those people. For all Nicolai knows, they all may kill kittens in private. "If you say so," is his response, then he just watches the pair of them and the horse move off into the distance before returning his attention to Clarice. "Okay, aced that bit. Now, show me the throttle." Looks like he's going to see what she knows before he begins telling her what she doesn't.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"We're goin' t' confront ya mom." Remy says towards Rogue as the horse starts to pick up some speed. He's certainly riden before, that much is obvious by the natural way he goes about riding the horse as it clomps away on the train tracks. "Ah got a lot t'tell ya first though."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Literally out of no where, Mystique steps into existence, very much hopefully not in front of a motorcycle or a horse. She glances around, not wearing a human skin bit stressed in a white catsuit and her usual thigh high boots. Her face is unreadable, unless of course she is being run down, then she'll dodge.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's arms go around Remy's waist as she looks over to the motorcycle riders. She's a fan of bikes, though she hasn't been on one in awhile. But, Remy's words pull her attention forward again and she narrows her eyes over his shoulder. "What?" She asks. "Why?" She asks further.

"That woman only ever tries t'find ways t'put me t'work for her benefit. I'd just as soon never see her aga--"

And there she is.

"Fuck." Rogue mutters behind Remy's shoulder on the horse.

She turns her face and lays it against his back then groans.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"The throttle?" Clarice repeats. Oh, Nicolai is going to have to break this down into 'Captain Dummy talk' for Clarice. She's never had much cause to be in vehicles - let alone learn how to use one - and given how little time she spends watching television, or movies...?
"Is that the break?" she asks, pointing at the lever extending from the handlebar. ...at least she knows something?
Whether she hears the portal, or sees it - her gaze goes towards Mystique as the woman appears, her posture shifting into a more ready position - until she recognizes the woman, and greets her with a nod.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
"Yes, that's the brake." Nicolai reaches over and kills the engine that he had left running. This is gonna be a long lesson. Hell, he's not even sure he'll get her actually on the thing and going this round.
He, too, glances up as Mystique appears on the scene. But his attention quickly returns to Clarice and the little Apache he supplied for this venture. "This is the throttle," he explains as he twists the right handlebar's grip. "This is the *front* brake," he indicates the lever she mentioned before. "Back brake is on the right foot pedal." He'll pause there, let that absorb.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Appearing behind the couple riding down the train tracks on a chestnut red horse with three white socks, Mystique's arrival is made known to Remy by Rogue's swear. He knows that tone well enough. "No..."

Remy is pulling back on the reins and slowing the horse down and turning her to face Mystique and the cajun's face falters slightly before he leans back and starts to whisper something into Rogue's ear.

Swinging a leg over the back of the beast and then sliding down to his feet, Remy walks down the train ties closer towards Mystique. "Jus' de person Ah was 'opin' to see." Remy says, /marching/ towards Mystique.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Folding her arms lightly across her chest, Mystique offers Clarice and Nicolai a nod before her amber eyes turn on the two on the horse. She waits, not approaching, pretty certain she knows what is being whispered but not caring. She'll wait for whatever it is that Remy feels he needs to say at this point, perhaps things he should have said before but didn't.

Her stance chances slightly as he starts marching toward her, a shift of her weight, ready for whatever he might try if that is his plan.

"I believe I texted you first Remy," she corrects smoothly, her voice calm. "Hello Rogue," she called past him to the southern Belle, then her eyes go back to the approaching man. "Go ahead, pretend this was your doing to get me here, I'll let you have this one."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue watches Remy dismount the horse in front of her and it leaves her up there on her own, her hands going to the back of the animal as she rests them palm-down upon the horses's bare back. She looks back over her shoulder as Mystique greets them, and she just sighs and throws her own leg over the animal and slides off of it on to her boots on the ground again.

She hears what Remy whispers and her eyes narrow at the woman in white. "Killin' people, huh." She tells her 'mom', her eyes going to Clarice and Nic. "Do they know you're killin' people?" She asks. She looks BACK to Mystique then. "Does Charles know you're killin' people?" She asks further.

Her arms fold over her stomach too. She almost mirrors Mystique in body language... perfectly.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Why is there a break for the front wheel and the backwheel? That's probably a question they'll have to deal with later.
"...I think the lesson may have to wait," Clarice murmurs to Nicolai as she slips off the bike - once more removing her helmet and setting it aside. She takes a step away from the group as she watches the tensions between Mystique, Remy, and Rogue.
"We're all just here for a friendly chat - right?" she cautions.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
"Because only a front brake can..." But then he's cut off by Clarice or, likely by the potential trouble over there with Mystique. Nicolai doesn't say a thing. Mystique and Clarice have been nothing short of amazing to him since they found him carrying that near murder victim from the alley. But does he really *know* Mystique. He's actually curious to hear the answer, see where this goes.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy takes a deep breath as Rogue climbs off the horse too, as he was hoping she'd be the one to save the animal before she saves him. The animal didn't do anything wrong. He did.

"Yes, ya texted me first, so what mon ennemi. Ah'm tired a'ya tryin' t'control me from afar. Ya ain't got no powah over me no mo'e, an ya can' keep ya goons from followin' me, it's gettin' creepy."

He seems to think Clarice has been tailing him, showing up in places he's been for the past week or so, and yet, there's no proof that's actually happened, it could all have been coincidence.

Either way the cajun is furious. "So do what ya gonna do to me, Ah'm tired of de crap!"

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Both brows lift rather high, a smirk touching her lips and then Mystique laughs.

"Remy LeBeau, I wanted to tell you I took care of the problem for you. They won't be bothering you again, ever." She looks past him to Rogue, "Yes I killed, weeks ago, to protect Remy and originally to blackmail him, but I'm not interested in that any more so I took care of it for him. You know I've killed, and I will kill again, but not in the way you think. I know you don't trust me, you can't trust me, but I'm hoping to prove you wrong. If Charles and Jean can give me a chance, then perhaps you can as well... not immediately." She looks to Clarice and Nicolai for a moment, then back to Remy.

"I didn't send them to do anything. You may not be able to accept change, but I /am/ trying. Do go fuck yourself Remy, your troubles with New Orleans is over, merry christmas, treat my daughter right or suffer."

Rogue has posed:
Well that's a lot to take in...

Rogue's eyes are squinty at everyone, but the sun is low in the sky and its washing over her form as she stands there mirroring Mystique's posture, her arms folded over her stomach. She looks around at everyone, Remy at her side, and the others before her.

Ultimately her eyes end up on Mystique though and she just shakes her head side to side. "The Professah an' Jean haven't been manipulated by you, like I have been. They weren't stupid enough t'believe you really were like a mother figure to me. You knew I lost my real mother, and you exploited that in me t'get me to... be a tool for the 'way you used t'be'. Now, suddenly you're 'not that' anymore?"

Rogue just shakes her head from side to side. "Forgive me if I don't buy it. But good job on killin' the guys that probably were gonna try'n kill him." She hooks a finger at Remy. "If either of ya wanna be so kind as t'fill me in on any'a this, maybe /I/ can be the one who helps stop it, without killin'."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Me and Nicolai just came here so I could learn how motorcycles work," Clarice remarks - sounding a bit baffled by some of the accusations being tossed about. "Honestly, I haven't the first idea about any of this," she claims, offering a small shrug of her shoulders - before lapsing into silence to listen, her posture still wary

Nicolai Codona has posed:
This is beginning to sound a lot like family drama that really isn't any of Nicolai's business... or is it? It's really not, but it doesn't mean he's not going to stand there and listen intently to every single word? Why? Because he's new to it all, the states, the Brotherhood. Does he really *know* anyone around him? No, not really. This is an opportunity for information and he's taking full advantage of it. Even if he looks like he's not paying them a bit of mind because he seems to be focused on checking the clutch on the bike. He does however add, "What she said," in a voice that's only just audible to the others.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
"Y'all must be yoga mat salesmen wit' all the bending y'all expect us t'be doing!" Remy calls out, stepping forward with a finger pointed at Mystique sharply. "Dat we're out 'ere in the middle of nowhere, an' de lady you use t' move you an' Erik around SUDDENLY 'appens to be learnin' how to drive a motorcycle right next to where Rogue and Ah are..."

Remy turns his head sharply and spits before he steps forward with a heavy step, looking to not bow down to Mystique's threats. Not any more. "An' how /exactlah/ did ya 'handle' my New Orleans problem? As far as Ah know, ... now dat Ah t'ink about'it, Ah've no proof you didn't 'elp them out in the first place."

Remy steals a glance at Rogue, a frown crossing his features as he knows this is going to end poorly for himself one way or another, so he's going to swan dive into the volcano. "Sorry, Anna..." He frowns and turns towards Mystique again, "No mattah what y'say, she deserves better dan dis." Remy says, motioning towards Rogue as he steps forwards again.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Without so much as a blink or stance change, not at all threatened or appearing to be effected by Remy's actions, Mystique produces a black envelope from her boot. The back has been sealed in red heated wax with a signet ring pattern stamped into it. He'll know it, he can't /not/ know it. She offer it over to him, since he's so close, but her eyes shift to Rogue.

"You're right Rogue, I was never much of a mother to you, or any of my other children. I'm a horrible mother, but at least I never threw you off a cliff," she replies, something in her tone that isn't usually there, actual emotion. "That part of me will always be there, just like the part of me that wants to kill will always be there, but neither of those things are reasons to not /try/ and be different. How many times has it been said that my old ways don't work? That they don't change anything and hurt more than do any good? People scream it at me all the time, so when I finally listen and try to change..."

She shakes her head and looks back to Remy, "In exchange for their looking the other way and leaving you alone, I am bound by oath to serve in your place. No one else died."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's eyes shoot over to Clarice and Nico, part of her somewhere feeling how awkward this must be for them, but they chose to be around Mystique, who comes with more baggage than the Showcase Showdown nobody wants on the Price is Right.

Rogue just listens to her 'mom' and laughs a breathy exhale as she looks away, her brown and white hair kicking up in the summer wind coming in from the west. Her hands go to her hips and she looks back at Mystique with the white bangs streaking across her nose, lips and chin.

"Well, get to it then, start showin' the world how much you've changed, cause talk is cheap, as they say. Actions are how you're gonna prove it t'the people who keep makin' ya feel bad. But remember, some'a the things you've done? They won't ever be forgiven, like what ya did to your poor son. The nicest damn man on the planet, he is."

Rogue glances toward Remy, the unspoken things between them continuing to cause more problems than she'd care to admit.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"I don't much appreciate being called a liar to my face, LeBeau. I know there's plenty of baggage in this mess - but I didn't earn any of it," Clarice counters. At the bit about tossing someone off a cliff, though, surprise and a deep frown crosses her features.

Nicolai Codona has posed:
Nicolai holds his hands up and shakes his head. "Dude... I have no pony in this race. I'm seriously just here to give a motorcycle lesson. You believe what you want to, but I've no reason to lie about it... no reason to lie for Mystique or Clarice." ...or anyone for that matter. His piece said, he goes back to fiddling with the clutch on the bike. Does that cable feel loose?

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy blinks at Mystique briefly and then he looks even deeper into those yellow eyes with his own mutated eyes, but words don't come, he only looks at the envelope in his hand and turns it over a few times and runs his finger tip across the wax seal. With a gesture he slides his arm back behind himself allowing Rogue to open it.

Seems he's done with those secrets.

His face is still close to Mystique, but he looks to Clarice, "Part 'n' parcel when ya hitch your wagon to a horse wit'out inspectin' em first." Remy says with a shrug, meaning you get what you get when you side with the wrong and the worst people.

Taking a step back, and not daring to turn his back to Mystique, Remy does back up and asks Rogue, "Lets get outta 'ere... Ah don't expect 'er to keep an oath that doesn't benefit 'er."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Still not moving, Mystique keeps her eyes on Rogue. Her interest with Remy is over, and why she did what she did remains hers and hers alone to know. He may not believe she'll keep the oath, he has no reason to believe she will, and that was fine, she really gave no fucks what he thought.

"I've already started Rogue," she replies. "The patrols in Bushwick, helping the people on that island, both mutant and human. Keep your eyes open, you'll likely be surprised as the months go by. I realize there are things that I can never atone for, but I can't change the past. All I can do is make the decision to try harder to change, and do it."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks down at the envelope that Remy handed her and she turns it over in her hand to look at both sides before her eyes dance back up to Mystique. "So you're finally learnin' from me now, huh?" She asks with a smirk vaguely crossin gher lips.

"Bout time ya realized who's doin' this better." Jab jab jab! Angry daughter power!

She folds the envelope over itself and then stuffs it in to a pocket on the back of her jeans, her eyes go over to Clarice. "Good luck with her, Girl. I hope for both of your sake that she's really tellin' the truth this time."

Nico gets a quick smile and then Rogue turns to go back to the horse. "Lets get this girl home." She tells Remy, offering hima hand up to get on the horse behind her.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"I hitched my wagon to the horse that bothered to save me," Clarice answers simply, giving Remy a look that still holds some vestiges of annoyance.
Her gaze goes to Rogue now - and she gets a nod of agreement, and a friendly, slightly wry smile, "I hope so, too. And I'm doing what I can to make it true."

Nicolai Codona has posed:
Rogue gets a little distracted wave in return.
Nicolai still pretends to not hold a bit of interest in the conversation, but he's remembering every word. "Looks like it's good," he comments in regards to the clutch, that never had a thing wrong with it.

Remy LeBeau has posed:
Remy falls silent and steps backwards one last time before taking a deep breath and pressing it back out from his nose as he reaches up to Rogue's extended hand and helps himself up onto the barebacked horse. Putting his arms around Rogue's waist to hold on he frowns and says, "Ah've got some 'splainin' to do. An' Ah will. When we get-away from dem."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique turns how and walks toward Clarice and Nicolai, leaving Rogue and Remy to leave on horse back. Her face is that mask she wears, concealing everything. She doesn't go completely over to them, she stops a short distance, "You two get back to enjoying yourselves. I'm sorry I interrupted."

Tapping the bracelet she wears, three times in a pattern, a portal of shimmer green appears and she steps through it.
