enhanced interrogation
Date of Scene: 16 June 2021
Location: Bane's Underground fight pit
Synopsis: Batman gets a tip from Bane
Cast of Characters: Bane, Bruce Wayne

Bane has posed:
A makeshift office that overlooks the handbuilt fighting cage and the bleachers. Normally there are fighters blooding each oither in the cage. for the fans that reliably fill up the bleachers and scream for more violence. But its not fight time right now so it is empty and quiet.

Bane is alone checking his books and cataloging his stolen loot from the nazca cartel.

Bruce Wayne has posed:
There is no doubt that Gotham City is filled with all sorts of dark little corners, dark little holes where all manner of disreputable, even illegal activities go on. Some are all but completely shrouded from public view. Others are a little more well known but allowed to persist due to well placed bribes. Or threats. And while the Dark Knight is not susceptible to either of those two things, he two frequently allows them to continue without interference. Why? Because they are natural gathering places from the criminals that fill the Gotham Underworld. It makes them easy to find, easier to... push when information is needed.

Like on this particular night. While it has been several days since the KGBeast's closest lieutenant was taken away from the alliance of ciminal gangs, the man has proven to be very unwilling to talk. As intimidating as Batman might be, he might pale in comparision when one has been grilled by the Joker. So the Dark Knight has turned to other channels to try and track down the Russian Mercenary who has been throwing the Gotham Underground into chaos for the last several months.

Which is what has brought him here. He is little more then a shadow, a flicker of motion, a glimpse in the corner of the eye as he navigates his way past security. Until he is past the public face of this illicit operation, past the pit with it's spectator seating. A shadow looming up in front of the large man in his office. "We need to talk Bane," comes that rough growl of a voice as the Dark Knight makes his presence known at last.

Bane has posed:
"So the infamous Batman danes to pay Bane a visit?" Bane says not intimidated, The batman is not a source of fear for Bane. Banr owes who he is to the Batman. It was tales of the unbeatable batman that inspired Bane to break out of the prison he was born into.

"I had alway hoped our meeting would be different. That we would meet in pitched battle for dominance. but We are both busy men." Bane calmly puts away his things. "So why have you come I assume you're not here to challenge me in the cage"

Bruce Wayne has posed:
Sooner or later it does seem likely that they will come to blows. Sooner or later the Dark Knight takes a dim view of all criminals in /his/ city. But he also prioritizes. Some are threats that need immediate attention. Some have to wait for a time, whether because of circumstances or because they provide more value where they are at the moment then seeing that they are locked up in Blackgate or Arkham. But the reckoning always comes. Sooner or later.

"Not really," he replies flatly, what little that can be seen of his face looking as if it is carved from stone for all the expression he allows himself. "I'm looking for a man who has gone to ground. An ex-Russian agent turned mercenary by the name of the KGBeast. If you know anything about where I might find him it would be in both of our interests for you to share," he continues, his voice just as cold as before. While he might not be intimidating the other man in the least, that doesn't prevent him from looming, that long dark cape drawn around him like a shroud. A shroud hiding who knows what beneath.

Bane has posed:
"If i give you information I have right now I would be no better than a common snitch. Bane is no common snitch." Bane's tone is restrain but threatening. His mask hides his entire face save the eyes. Eyes that seem to burn with hatred for a man he's only just met. "You haven't even said please much less sstarted a barter. I think you have Bane very mistaken. I will not cave to your theatrics. What do you offer?"

Bruce Wayne has posed:
This was never likely to lead anywhere of course. The only sign he gives to his... displeasure at the lack of cooperation is the slightest tightening of his jaw, eyes narrowing behind that cowl he wears as he studies the other man. "I'm not here to barter with you Bane," he says in that same cool, flat tone. Would fighting the other man get him what he wants? Perhaps. His file suggests that there is honor of a sort in the other man. He does seem to respect strength. But he also will not be coerced. It is a fine line to walk. But more importantly he doesn't have the time for this sort of confrontation tonight.

"You can see it's in your best interest or not. He's made mess of the Underground. He's come close to creating an alliance of gangs just to stop his efforts. Maybe you see the chaos working to your advantage. I doubt you'll feel the same if he continues to go free and his attention turns to you and your organization," he states coolly. "But more importantly then that, while I'm occupied with him I'm not putting an end to your business dealings in Gotham. Pointing me in his direction buys you time."

Bane has posed:
"you honestly think that much of yourself. I thought I only hated the idea of you and that if I met you I would have to manufacture a reason for my rage. That perhaps we werent so different. But you are one arrogant man in a cape. You think that I need to get you away from me?" Bane gets up from his desk.
Bane stands a full 6'8"/1.83 meters tall and is densely muscled man. "No one here is scared of you. I used to think defeating you would grant me what I wanted it motivated me to become Bane. but I've faced real power and you. do. not. compare." Bane says walking up to the bat. Looming over him now. Bane locks eyes with him for a moment Batman's blue eyes seeming the perfect counter the rage and fire in Bane's. Bane then straightens his jacket and steps away.

"Though the league would surely put a swift end to him if he truly became an issue i can give the information you want. but you promise me to deal with it as quick as you can because am ever so anxious to see you try to put me down" Bane's voice almost becomes a growl as he says that.

"Well then world's greatest detective. KGBeast probably has connects in the russian military especially the secretive parts. I would hazard a guess he's in the urkraine. specifically the Dontesk region. He's probably recruiting from the 'totally not russian military' protesters pushing for the region to be annexed by russia" Bane explains in a very annoyed tone.

Bruce Wayne has posed:
While Bane might tower over him it does not appear that the Dark Knight is anymore intimidated by him then the other man is by himself. In that it would seem that they are at something of a standoff. For the time being at the very least. This night, this encounter might be their version of detente, but it does not seem overly likely to last long. But perhaps just long enough.

While Gotham's Dark Knight might not be intimidated, he does not mind letting the imposing crime lord say his piece. Information is where Batman truly lives. As formidable a combatant as he might be, it is his observational skills, his ability to collect and utilize data, intelligence that truly makes him such a formidable foe. Makes him able to walk among space gods and Amazonian princesses as an equal. If that means letting his opponent have 'the last word', that suits him just fine.

So he listens with that unchanging expression, staring up at the other man with that icy gaze, unmoving, that cape draped around him, perfectly still. Everything that Bane says makes sense of course. There are a few more probablies to suit him in the information that the masked criminal shares. But when you hear the same thing from enough people those fractions start to round up to a whole, start to provide a big picture.

So he listens, un daunted, unphased by threats or provocations. And when Bane is done the Dark Knight simply dips his head ever so slightly and turns, starting to stride away, no doubt to pull his vanishing trick and disappear back into the night. He doesn't issue any taunts -- nor does he give any thanks. Each of them has a reason for what they do.

"I'll be seeing you," is all that he utters in those cold, emotionless tones.

Bane has posed:
Bane who is a known user of the disappearing trick knows the batman is no longer there. "hurry back batman. After I beat the wonder woman I will beat you too"
