Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Daisy Johnson

Matthew Murdock has posed:
With Daisy gone Matt had thrown himself mainly into work, it kept his mind busy and made the time seem to pass more quickly, but even Matt had to rest sometimes, tonight was one of those nights, he treated himself to a pizza and some beer and as soon as he got home and fed Boxer he flopped on the couch to open the box and eat.

This would only be a short reprieve he tells himself, just finish his pizza and then back to work, he had a lawsuit to prepare for the Mutant Town Twelve and now after the visit of Dr. Banner, he had to make some inquiries about what if anything the government has planned for the man, or rather, for his alter-ego. So yeah, a break was extremely necessary, much like the wicked it seemed like there was no rest for the righteous either.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It had been a while since Daisy had been back at their apartment. Either involved with the Framework effort of getting their family and friends out of AIDA's clutches, or trying to figure out the mystery of Jane's coma. It made for quite the hectic of times. And it made her boil to a point she wasn't sure she could keep going anymore, specially now that they were getting ready to go ahead with quite the dangerous plan inside the FW.

It was at these points she turned to the one that had been a bastion in her life, there in the good and bad moments. So it was without surprise that she found herself landing on the rooftop, vibrations spreading through the place, giving the clear signal that she was close by.

She smiled then, she was home. The door is heard opening up.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The feeling of those vibrations has Matt leaping up from the couch and heading to the stairs. When the door opens he's almost to her, and when he jumps those last two steps he scoops her up into a hug and kisses her fiercely letting it linger awhile before he breaks away and leans his head against hers. "Hey," he says all too casually to follow that enthusiastic greeting. "Missed you." As if that wasn't clear already.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
For someone who has been gaining quite the mastery over her powers since Afterlife there seems to be an imbalance in Daisy. Stress? Maybe so. She did say before how hectic things were being at her most recent assignment. And they are *still* being seen as terrorists. Which is just adding more trouble for the woman!

Seeing Matt take those steps in a rush to her does make her catch her breath though, smiling wide and holding on against the man as if her life depended on it, kiss just as fierce, "I can tell.." the voice has some lingering touches of strain in it but there's a bit of her perkiness there too. "I have missed you as well." she confesses against him.

"I should had said something, wasn't sure if you might have Foggy around or something.."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt can feel that discordant note in Daisy's song but at first he's too intent on greeting her to speak on it, just holding her tight in his arms. "It's okay," he says of sending warning. "Just glad to see you," he says before kissing her again, though more briefly. "How are things going for you and the others?" he asks carefully his tone suggesting he knows the answer is not good.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy does start to relax a bit more now that she is with Matt, hands to his chest, her forehead on the crook of his neck and shoulder, eyes turning to look at the rest of the house, "Not great." she admits, taking in a deep breath before dislodging herself from Matt so they can go back down the stairs, she holding on to his hand. It's just in time for Boxer (or is it Director Furry now that it's close to night time?) to come over to check on what the excitement is all about. He hops over a stair to brush past Daisy's legs, then Matt's.

And yes, he has a piece of ham from the pizza Matt was eating just now between his teeth. So he runs off right after.

She smiles a touch amused, "You left your guard down. Pizza again tonight?" she asks, making her way over to the main room, her expression sobering up as she remembers once more what problems are upon them. "But yes, tomorrow morning we will be .., going in to take them out. It will be risky, and the things I have seen in there, and the ones I have had to do.." she shakes her head. "I suppose I understand now when Bobbi says we need to be ready for everything when we are a spy.."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt leans into Daisy's touch, savouring it before they let go of one another and walk down the stairs hand in hand. When Boxer aka Director Furry appears, to show some love and show off his stolen pizza Matt laughs, "As you can tell, not much has changed around here," he says following the cat with his senses as he makes off with his prize. "And yeah? That big computer thing? You've been in there?" he asks her leading her to the couch and sitting down. "What are you guys going to do to get them out?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I have ..." Daisy says with a sigh, nearing the couch and sinking herself in, reaching out to take a pizza slice (the one missing the little piece of ham). "Apparently my .., avatar is a pop star, all the way down to having a sugar daddy in the upper eschelons of Hydra..." apparently that's what she meant with being prepared for everything..! "Jemma is a school teacher there. We are going to attempt and convince Agent May about it all being a simulation by using her Inhuman powers to have her feel the rest of the room. Apparently they are working on the outside and still influencing her, even if the simulation can't process them correctly. So hopefully .., that will work."

A sigh, "And if not, we prepared a few tricks of our own. It's a simulation so we are all ready to cheat. But .., they are really suffering in there. Each day that passes I just feel..." she shakes her head.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt puts an arm around Daisy's shoulder his attention on her as she talks. "A pop star working for HYDRA... that would explain a lot of new music to be honest," he says wryly, but that's the only glib remark he makes. "I'm sorry you have to go through all that, that your friends, have to do it. But you guys figured out cheat codes for the simulation? That's a little mindbending to think about. So can you give yourselves more powers or something? That work in the simulation?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It's on my mind now.." Daisy says before clarifying. "... The music that is." a roll of her eyes. "And just as you imagined ..." no, she doesn't sing it at all. Maybe when it's all done. She digs into the pizza now, taking a good bite from it before smiling up to Matt and nodding somewhat proudly. "Jemma is going full Matrix mode with it. Doesn't help that we watched the movie for inspiration but .., yea. Just imagine leather, sunglasses, dark clothes." Daisy then rolls her eyes. "So at least we are still keeping up our spirits.." or at least trying to.

"The problem is they truly believe it's all real and ..., I can only imagine how it must have felt to have sacrificed what they have.." she lets her head rest against Matt's shoulder and relaxes quietly.

"But even with those false memories I don't think they can erase who they truly are underneath.." which is what she is hoping for.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Speaking of mindbending... "I can't quite picture someone like Jemma rocking a Matrix get up," Yes he'd seen the movie, it came out before he lost his sight. He holds Daisy close though turning his mind to the problem of her friends, "So they all think this world is real and what was put into their brain is what really happened, but the working theory is that deep down they're still who they are?" he asks. "I am sure a psychologist could write a stack of papers on this whole set up," he remarks, as he turns it over in his head. "So, sounds like the key is finding what will really speak to the person each of them is deep inside, whatever is truly important to them. That about right?" he asks helping himself to a bit more pizza as he mulls over the problem.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Oh, she rocks it damn right. Just like a ..., rock star?" It finishes a bit lamely perhaps. Daisy even wrinkles her nose a bit at that. She needs to up her pun game. But at least she isn't as focused in her problems anymore. Or rather, she is still thinking on them but is at least taking it a bit more easily now that she is close with Matt, "Correct, but it does way to interesting questions like how much our experiences mold who we really are. I mean, Daisy..., or rather Skye, in that simulation was a cocainated pop star with a Hydra director for a sugar daddy..." she then pausing after saying that.

"Gods, it sounds horrible when I say it out loud.." it really does.

"And yes, reaching out to who they are, and what they are. We know them, we are their friends more than just people who work together." and for Daisy they were family. "We have also worked on unlocking some of their memories which .., will help. But it also confuse them further. We need to be careful not to rush them too fast into this or we could be breaking their minds too." clearly a difficult path to travail..

"But even if we bring them to our side we *then* have to find a way out, which I have set up but I may need to figure out alternatives.." she lets out a breath.

"But enough of me, tell me how your life has been here.." she asks.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt smiles at the lame finish to the joke. "I'll give that one a pass," he tells her. "Sounds like you had a rough week," he says lightly, a teasing twist to his lips.

Matt nods about that sounding horrible. "But when you got into that world you were you right? Not this coked up pop star with some HYDRA director as her sugar daddy?" he asks. "Cuz yeah that does sound pretty horrible." He pauses for a moment then continues. "Yeah I could see breaking down the whole wall of false memories that were set up in your friends heads might be too much to try and do during a rescue in HYDRAworld, but maybe the trick is to lead them to the exit using what they believe is true and get them through, they can take the time to unwind the stuff done to their brain once they're safe in our world."

Smiling faintly as the topic turns to him he says, "Well, DoppleMatt has been sent home along with DoppleElektra and DoppleBlacksky," he says. "It was a hell of a fight, I just hope ARMOR didn't take his mask off before they sent him home, that'd bring up some awkward questions for me. Other than that got the mutant town twelve case handled, they were acquitted but we're going to be suing the city on their behalf for having them locked up as long as they did in the first place, just because they're mutants. So, that'll be a long fight on its own. So, you know, keeping busy," he says casually, but clearly joking about it, all of that had clearly taken its toll. "Missing you though."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I was me." Daisy assures Matt with a nod even as she chuckles at the pass given at her about the horrible joke. Hey, she can't pun like the best of them all the time! "I still felt some influence from that weaker body and some of it's ..., effects. But yes, once I started getting more used to it then it became better. I can tell you she has a great voice though.." uh-oh... "But don't ask me to sing any of the songs.."

As Matt then speaks about leading them over she nods. "Yes, it's what we will try to do. I just know it's going to be crazy." as most SHIELD missions go! "But that's just how we roll."

"So you guys found them at last? Good." A grin on her lips, and some relief too. She had read about the Daredevil being out there and killing. "What about clearing your name though?" she asks of it. Which was just as important.

A gentle smile comes to her lips at those last words, she reaching up with one hand to cup Matt's cheek. "I have missed you as well.." she takes in a breath and slides up against Matt to rest her head against his shoulder. "We should go on a vacation when this is all over.."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Makes sense," Matt reasons about the weaker body and other effects. "Doesn't sound like she had the training and discipline you did," he says. "Must have been weird though being in something like your body but not." Yep, even with ninja cults and guys who punched dragons, Daisy still has the weirder adventures. "Well be careful, I know you can handle yourself but still, I worry," he says, "Which I know is rich coming from the guy who spends his nights jumping around the roofs of the city, but still watch yourself and come back in one piece."

Leaning over he brushes a kiss against her lips.

"Sort of stuck with the rap DoppleMatt left me, there was no way to clear me except unmask the other Daredevil and show them that there were really two guys," he says, frowning. "The cops are still looking for Daredevil, and Foggy is all the more sure Daredevil is some psycho now, so for now it looks like I'm going to have to stay ahead of the cops and the crooks as well as keep my secret from Foggy a little while longer."

Shifting a little to let Daisy get comfortable against his shoulder, Matt looks over at her, letting his hands play through her hair. "A vacation sounds good," he says sounding tired and in need of that sort of break. "Got anywhere in mind?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Oh, definitely not. She went a fully different path than I did. Sometimes .., I feel it's one decision or another that can send us into a fully different kind of life down the road. It's scary but also ..., beautiful?" A chuckle. "I am not exactly sure on how to explain it. I have had no time to look into it though, I have mostly been trying to get them out." the talk about worrying has her smile.

"It's the life we chose, isn't it? We do what we do because this is our path. I will make sure to come back in one piece." Even if she doesn't promise anything. Promises have a tendency to go wrong where it comes to her! So instead she leans up to place a kiss up on the man's chin before meeting his lips, slow and quiet as they enjoy their time on the couch together, intimate.

Boxer comes by with a demanding 'rao', jumping up atop Daisy and looking around from his high perch to seek for food. He walks alongside her leg and then belly before jumping over to the table to find a bit more pizza to steal.

"Yea, do we know anyone on Tv? Could be good to have an interview with someone to clear that out. Maybe someone on the Daily Planet.. Or if closer there's April O'Neil too." she suggests, thoughtful.

As those hands slide through her hair she lets out a soft breath, closing her eyes briefly and curling up further on Matt, "Hey, I am just the enabler here. Destination? I don't have a particular one in mind. Though we could always go explore Nepal some more. But no, that's thinking too far ahead, you know how I am." impulsive Daisy!

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"You're not wrong, there are a few choices I can think of that would have led me down very different paths, or both of us in the case of our reunion while we were planning to do some really dumb things," he grins at that memory. "If either of us had talked the other one out of it, we'd be very different people right now," his expression softens to a fond smile. "Glad we didn't."

Matt returns the kiss lingering in the missed closeness, the time apart having made Matt all the more keenly aware of how much having Daisy in his life meant to him. Though, Boxer's theft does not go unnoticed, "When I don't put out wet food tonight, you'll know why," he chides the cat with a laugh in his voice. "Brat," he says shaking his head. "He gets it from you," he teases before kissing her again.

When things come to getting out ahead of the damage done by DoppleMatt he nods, "I listen to her Podcast a lot, April might be a good choice, as long as she doesn't mind me staying in costume. I'll have to reach out to her and see if something can be set up."

"Well I'm usually a planner but I think we can do this one Daisy style and figure things out as we go."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Me too.." Those memories do come to the fore when Matt speaks up about them, having her turn on that sofa so she is on her side against the man, fingertips up to brush over the man's chest. A light touch, but she knows he can feel it quite well, fingers lightly brushing over his shirt in a quiet manner, content and happy with where she is right now. "But maybe the world lost a pop star. Have you thought about that?" her tone full of mischief.

Boxer's theft has her grin, a look given to Boxer, "Good job, my padawan." stealing pizza? "And hey, I am a rebel with a cause, and so is Boxer. He knows what's important." if one puts into perspective what a cat's life is!

"Yea, I think it's a good idea. I mean, can't let it stay as it is can we? I am sure some of your .., friends.., wouldn't mind that rep of yours but ..." is she talking about Elektra? Maybe!

"You *are* free to plan a place for us to go." She then says between laughs. "As long as you don't choose the next state over or something like that. But first, let's make sure we get through all that's going through our lives."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt smiles as Daisy shifts to her side, feeling her soft touches keenly through his shirt. "Well since you haven't sung me any of your songs I don't know if that's a good thing or not," he teases giving her shoulder a gentle shove. "Like I said, gets it from you," he says about Boxer, but smiles as he says it, there's no question he's as amused as Daisy is about the cat's antics.

"Well they can like my rep all they want, I definitely want to get out from under it, and April's podcast sounds like a good place to start."

His attention shifts fully to Daisy as they return to discussing the trip. "I'm good with being flexible, but you're right all of that can wait until we solve our problems..." he brushes his thumb against her cheek. "Guess we'll have to be patient."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Consider it a good thing that I haven't..." Daisy reassures Matt with a slow nod. For some reason musical tastes inside the Framework seem a bit different than out in the real world! Maybe it's AIDA's own tastes coming forth... But then she grins. "But I will when we are out of there." oh no..

"It won't be easy." She then says about Matt's reputation. "But you will do it. If anything I know you are the most stubborn man I know so ..." she trails off then, leaning up to find his lips and lose herself in that feeling, arms up and wrapping up around his head to keep herself close.

Yes, at least tonight SHIELD's problems won't disturb her too much.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt chuckles. "Fine, fine, but sooner or later Foggy is going to drag you with us for Karaoke so you can save your singing talents for then," he says. "It'd be good to have one person can actually sing." Clearly Matt does not number him among that group.

Another chuckle follows, "Coming from the Queen of Stubborn, that means a lot," he says with a wry smile, before Daisy snuggles in closer... "So," he begins. "How long can you stay before you need to plug back into the Matrix?"
