Synopsis: Beacon and Carbon Spider run into trouble at the Gotham Docks, where Red Robin helps out and gives some advice to the young Gotham Heroine.
Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Miles Morales, Tim Drake

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
THE GOTHAM DOCKS -- not precisely the safest place to start out a thrilling career in heroics! Matter of fact, it's a pretty tough place all around. There is a Navy Dock far off, the yards full of shipping containers, and warehouses not currently in use filled with the occasional drifter.

Here, there is a figure walking down the docks, wearing a light gray, hooded jacket. The hood was slung low, shadows hiding the face beneath. Comfortable hiking boots tap lightly as the figure, hands in pockets and carrying a non-descript gray pack, makes a turn down an alleyway, listening.

Miles Morales has posed:
The odd drone of rolling wheels, thick kind of mix between plastic and rubber echo through wood up into the flat sneakers on top of them. Red white and black nikes on the riders feet as he reaches forward to plant his foot on the ground and push hard, using much of his enhanced strength and extra grip to give him incredible speed and stability on the longboard.

Carbon Spider is rolling around not at the speed of sound but he's going fast as he has his headphones on over his rudamentary mask and under the red hood on his head. The music is loud but not loud enough to drown out the sounds of the world, though he suddenly finds himself at the end of a dock, looking over the edge to the waters below, accidentally skatting this far again, his mother will kill him.

C.S. turns and stops with one foot on the ground the other bent at the hip and knee, holding the board in the air with his super-grip through the shoe.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    Only if she catches him!

Carbon Spider's super grip keeps him and his board safe, even though the teen's caught some attention.

A couple of figures, one smoking a ciggarette, were watching as the kid skated to the dock -- and now were beginning to close in on the dock, looking to block Carbon Spider's way back.

"Lookit this, man. You reckon it's one of those Bat Mans Mike were talkin' about?" one pipes up.

"Nah, nah, looks too bright color for a Bat Man. Ain't got the ears." the other answers.

    "Kid. Hey, kid! Nice headphones!"

Miles Morales has posed:
Looking up and towards the thugs, Miles, behind the mask takes a deep breath as he reaches up to his headphones and pulls them down to rest around his neck. The over ear design is really super versitile, and yet, he looks back to the guys, the mask obscuring his eyes but not his vison, much, as he looks them over and responds, "Yeah, they are nice." Lowering his voice a bit to be safe and to sound more manly.

"I'm not with the bats, no, I'm Carbon Spider... And I think I should be going now." He says, putting his board down and stepping on it while pushing off towards them as if he was going to skate between the two men.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The three thugs give a laugh, one crowing out:

"HEY Who said you could leave?!" with a laugh as they try to block Carbon Spider's way out from the docks.

The figure in the gray hooded jacket comes out of the alley, and quickly starts jogging for the grouping as Carbon Spider sets up to play bowling ball to some human pins!

Miles Morales has posed:
Shoving his foot out to touch the ground, Miles stops nearly on a dime and shifts his weight onto the off foot, rocking the other back and forth, looking up towards the three men. "Um, I didn't know this was private property, I think it best if I get moving as quickly as possible." He explains, or muses, or at least teases as he sizes up the three men who are obviously up to no good. "I mean, I really shouldn't be here." Carbon Spider explains again with a look from behind the mask, almost inviting them to try.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Nah, you shouldn't be kid. Dis is Gotham. An' in Gotham, good little brats are supposed ta be home in bed!" the third goon states, and he pulls out a short club from his jacket -- another pulls a crowbar, and the two armed goons move first, trying to deliver blows to Carbon Spider's side before he can make his escape!

Miles Morales has posed:
Holding up one gloved hand, Carbon Spider looks at it and the WHIRRING in his head warns of the incoming attacks he can see. He steps out of the way of one, "Good Little brats, that's a weird single negative, so they're not good, by being brats." He says, pointing one finger up.

Then the crowbar comes his way and a push off the ground backwards gets the board moving back to the edge of the dock and away from the swing, "So they're obviously bad kids and obviously bad kids wouldn't be home in bed. I feel like this makes sense." Miles explains and then asks for verification from the guy with the blackjack.

Tim Drake has posed:
Red Robin was swinging by and seeing movement down the docks, he will move closer to get a look at what's going on. He will sigh a bit and smirks ever so lightly "Kids, running around as heroes, I wonder where they get it. He shoots his grapple to the overhead crane, judges his angle, and off he goes feet first at the guy with the crowbar, planning on sending the fellow for a swim.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    A girl's voice breaks in:

" -- I mean, 'brat' itself has a lot of different meanings, maybe he means sausages?"

That's when a mop handle hits the third guy about his ear, causing him to stumble to the side.

The man with the blackjack grunts "Shaddup kid! We're takin' ya down! Pretty sure we're gonna get a pretty penny unless you're hidin' an ugly mug 'neath your mask!" the club-bearing goon says, coming in high to try and smash Miles upside the head as he snarls "SHADDUP!"

Miles Morales has posed:
Miles bends backwards and looks out at the water upside down for a brief moment, another warning in his head at the attacker swinging at him. "Whoa big guy, that's certainly going to get you put on some kinda list. I mean, my mom says I'm the best looking kid she knows, but I know that's just a mom thing. From you. It's just weird." Carbon Spider jibs and then pushes the board forward as he stands straight, aiming to peg the guy's angle with the front of the long board.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Ka-POW! The guy with the Crowbar takes a bright red bird!

The third guy turns to face his attacker, and the figure in the gray with the hood is holding a discarded wooden mop handle, the metal stirrup at the bottom snapped off. She's wearing a white domino-mask over her face, and a white mask beneath it. She takes a couple steps backwards, and the guy pursues!

The Creepy guy ends up going into the drink as Miles hits the guy with the front of the longboard, hopping on one leg before tumbling off the dock, over the railing and sputtering in the cold water with a 'Gyaaah!' before swimming for the ladder.

...but as the girl with the gray hood backs up, there's another flick of a ciggarette in the alleyway, and a door opens in one of the warehouses.

"'Ey boys, looks like we got two baby supes! Whadaya think someone like th' Joker'll pay for /two/ brats?" osmeone calls out.

Now looks tobe twenty five (with two all wet) against the two.

Tim Drake has posed:
Red Robin comes in and sends Crowbar, into the drink. He swings out over the drink himself, but as he comes back, he does a flip as he lets go of the line and lands on the Deck. "Now you really want to try something like that, I heard the Joker only pays in joker dollars, and all those have his face on them." He does pull a couple batarangs up ready to throw.

Miles Morales has posed:
Even behind his mask the awe and admiration from Miles is palpable as he oohs and ahhs over Tim, "So. Cool." He murmers before looking back to the now three of the young heroes and a huge crew of thugs. "Joker? He must be kidding. I think he's kidding. Do you think he's kidding? I'm certain he's kidding." Miles says rather rapidly towards Tim and Phoebe.

Then slowly the whole insanity of the situation they're in clicks in Miles' head. There's three of them, he thinks, he's not SUPER sure, and there's at least twenty of them... adults, likely with guns...

"Any great plans?" He asks Tim and steals a look towards Phoebe, unsure how to move.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The group is closing in around the trio, and the girl in gray shifts backwards, her back now to Carbon Spider and Red Robin.

"I dunno if he's kidding!" Phoebe squeaks, and she shifts her weight, drawing herself up a little bit as she looks to Carbon Spider and Ro-- oh, she knows this one.

    That's bad.

    "I've got one!" she hisses.

Tim Drake has posed:
RR looks over the two giving the girl a brief second glance, before he will speak softly so only the two at his back should hear him. "Don't look this way." He tosses the two flash pellets not using flash bangs, as the two kids would not be ready for them . While the thugs are blind he will shoot one of his grapples into a crate and hands the end to Carbon Spider. "Give this a tug." He says so the kid can scatter the group of thugs some.

Miles Morales has posed:
"I think I get ya." Miles says acting like he didn't stare at the pellets. I mean how could he not, actual flash pellets! So he fumbles and then grabs the cable. He then steps off his board and runs pulling on the cable with a plan to try and wrap around the bad guys like he was the snow speeder in that movie his dad seems to love.

    "Now what?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Flash pellets! The gray-hooded girl looks back to Red Robin, and gives a spin of her makeshift staff, stretching her fingers a moment, then she begins to sweep through the goons in front of her, tripping some others, sending them in Robin and Carbon's direction as she hoops ankles and gives inertia-aided aikido throws.

"Keep it up!" she calls out over the din of bad guys trying to rub the light from their eyes and goons being tripped up by the group!

Tim Drake has posed:
Red was not expecting that, but hey you go with what ya got. "Latch it on the other side of them on itself and hit the blue button." He will tell the young man to hopefully snare up quite a number of the thugs. He pulls something else from the belt of amazing toys, and his staff expands to full size, and he spins it striking out at any hands he sees with weapons in them. "Hope two at your 9 o'clock he will tell the girl to warn her. Hoping she realizes he is talking to her."

Miles Morales has posed:
Miles isn't slow, but he's not the Flash either, he's moving around the thugs holding onto the cable tightly and with his superior grip as he sprints in a circle before attaching the rope back in on itself with the crate. "Blue button? Blue button. BLUE BUTT-THERE!" He calls out and slaps it with his hand, and just as quickly jumps back to land on his feet, fists balled and primed at his hips. Oh, yeah, he's a bad ass hero. Is what he's expecting.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
WELL. Her cover's blown. She gives a soft 'tch' sound as she brings the mop handle up, seat it behind her, in her elbows, using it to toss one as she ducks low and draws it out, side-stepping and sweeping the other off his feet before she braces herself for the next wave -- luckily, though, Carbon Spider has made short work of a lot of the goons -- they're now all wrapped up (some two deep) against the crate. The others are making a run for it now that an *actual* member of the Bats had come out, and they weren't keen to keep playing.

"... thanks...?" she offers awkwardly, holding to her broom handle.

Tim Drake has posed:
Red Robin will look and see if the boss of the goons is still here, and if the goons all seems to be on the run. He will look to two. "Both of you come with me." He will lead the two through a paths on the doc, and a few buildings away they will see a red high tech car, and as they near it the doors open "Get in." He will tell them.

Miles Morales has posed:
Miles does what he's told by Red Robin, and as they follow the super hero, he lifts his skateboard, and already thinking out of some boxes, he puts it on his back where it sticks like he's got a rope tied around it.

"So that was good right? That felt good." Miles is asking and looking towards Phoebe and then to the back of Tim, though he isn't sure what kind of reading he should be getting from the legit trainned dude with the red theme.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The gray hood keeps her hood down over her face, and she gives a huff as she turns and follows Red Robin, not sure if she's going to be getting a scolding, arrested (vigilanteism, in spite of Gotham, *is* still a crime!) and she hesitantly looks at the car as they approach -- then look at Carbon Spider, then Red Robin.

"Ah... dunno about you there, Sticky, but ordinarily the rule is 'don't get into a stranger's car'..." she states -- and then just sheepishly gets into the car. "REally though, I can walk! I have a bus pass!"

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake will look to the two, and says "I will drive you both out so, your not seen heading back to where ever you stay." He will give each of them a number to a burner phone they can contact him by. Once he is far enough from the dock, he lets them out, but looks to Beacon "We need to talk."

Miles Morales has posed:
Miles climbs out of the car and looks at the phone number.

"Digits." He mumbles to himself before he slides them into a pocket and gives a wave to both Beacon and Red Robin. "So. Cool." Carbon Spider says once before he drops the board onto the ground and skates off into the night once agian.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"So long, Sticky!" Beacon states, and she physically winces when the Robin tells her they need to talk. She breathes out quietly, and with no small amount of hesitantion turns to Robin.

"I have a feeling this isn't about my choice in fashion."

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake looks to her, and says "Well, no, I was hoping you might fill me in. I know your from Gotham, so are you planning on this being a normal thing, is this because the night with the falcons?" He asks wondering if her putting herself in danger is his fault.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Well... no. Kinda? Not really?" the girl states, and she gives a glower for a moment. "Look, this was something I considered for a while. I'm in a high class for my aikido, I work well with staves, and I have that ability. But I ran into this guy in Cathedral Square who told me I should be doing more to help -- and I feel weird asking for donations so..." she sheepihly hangs her hed.

"... I dunno. I thought I could be useful if I could throw off muggers and heal people I guess."

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake looks to her and frowns a bit and studies her a moment "I have a friend I talked to about raining you some cause i expected you might get yourself in troible some but did not expect you to be getting into it this quick. so what were you doing back there?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
".. tripping people with a broomstick?" Phoebe answers in all honestly, rubbing the back of her head a moment as if maybe, just maybe, Tim were expecting a different answer.

"Wait -- you already talked to someone about training me?" ... and she looks horrified. "It... it's not Batman is it?"

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake shakes his head and says "No a friend of mine, and no not tripping people with a broom stick, I ment down at the docks, in the first place." He will tell her. He hmms and reaches under his seat pulls something out looks like a roll of quarters and hands it to her.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Ohkay. Because I'm pretty sure he scares everyone." she murmurs quietly, and she leans back in her seat, and accepts the roll of quarters.

    "... I... I already have bus fare?"

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake looks to her, and says "There are two small switches, the green one if you push it left it will extend, right it will collpase. Don't do it in the car, and don't push the red button.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Why? What's the red button do? Explosion? Immolation? Call my mom?" Phoebe inquires good-naturedly to Tim as she straightens up -- and very carefully tucks the gift into her bag.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake looks over and says "Thermal nuclear glitter bomb." He shakes his head and says "Opens the whistle so it whistles when spun. The problem is if someone who knows me hears it, they will think it is me, and that could be very good or very bad.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"... Ah... Red Robin... s-sir, I'm not taking your spare! That'd... be pretty bad. Not that I'm not thankful but -- oh that's my street -- I can ge tout here and go down the back alley to my house, please." she states, worriedly, and breathes out. "So... not in trouble?"

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake says, "No, and I have more than one spare, if your going to be out there you should take it, and that way your not depending on a broken mop to defend yourself. He looks over to her "And call me if you need me.""

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe pauses, and she pulls down the white mask covering her face, and pulls up the white domino. She eyeballs Red Robin, and breathes out.

"All right. Well..if that person decides to catch up with me --" she states, and she pulls out -- of all things! -- a buiness card. It just says THE BEACON -- and gives a text forwarding. "That's how they can find me. Rather than showing up at my house, please. I don't think mom would understand." she states, and she goes to get out of the car.

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake smirks a bit and nods his head a bit and says "If you get a text signed WG it is her." He will hint on who it is after taking the card.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Fair enough... ah... take care out there." she states, and then waggles her finger "And I mean it! If you run into trouble, I can help you. You know where to find me now." she motions down the block. "Just look for the one with all the plants!"

Tim Drake has posed:
Tim Drake smiles and watches her go and did not even plant a bug in the staff.
