Henry McCoy has posed:
It had been a nice Sunday. Henry had taken it to heart, resting on the seventh day and all that! After lounging about, he decided that a bit of a cookout would be time well spent. So it was off to the backyard! Chicken, burgers, even veggie-burgers were being grilled - tended over by the relaxed man. He's got a glass of iced tea sitting nearby, just in case he gets too warm or too parched.

Any who arrive are given a meal - chips included! He's in his element, caring for his family and friends.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Having wanted to go for a swim anyway it was easy for the gastronomic scents to summon Monet. She is wearing a knee-length, off white colored, terry cloth bathrobe and leather strapped sandals.

Approaching the pool and Henry's buffet she says, "Greetings Dr. McCoy," and then asks him, "How are you doing?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Looking up from the latest round of cooked delectibles, Henry grins. "Hello Miss St. Croix!" He offers, giving a friendly wave. "So far, doing well - thank you. Just figured I'd treat some of the students who are still about with some cook-out fun. Most of them swing by for a snack on their way to some adventure or another. The busy life of youth." The grin is wide and infectious. "How are you doing? Come for food, or for the pool?" He wonders.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet answers with a wry smile as she, quite accurately, answers the second question first with a simple, "Yes," in her slightly French accented English, following it up with a slightly disingenuous, "I'm doing alright," that feels off without any telepathic or empathic powers even. Indicating the burgers with a wave of her hand, Monet asks, "What sort of meat is in these?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry's head cants to the side, trying to sort out her claim of being all right. "Interesting footage you alerted us to." He nods, before motioning with the spatula. "I've got some bison, some Waigu, chicken, portabello - even some impossible vegan burgers." He explains, indicating each in turn. "Whichever tickles your fancy." Buns and condiments are off to the side. "I've got a cheddar and swiss cheese too - to your preference." He smiles, regarding her. "Something on your mind today?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
"My mother would want me to follow halal," Monet observes idly and then says, "I am not so strict about it except on holidays. I'll take a bison burger with Swiss if you would." As she looks over the condiment choices and waits to be served she says, "I'm glad to know that the footage is of interest. I was curious if it is being reported to anyone. I believe he's been out of the public eye for a while and someone should be aware of his presence." After a brief pause she asks, "You've let your Avenger contacts know about it?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
A wry grin from the Beast. "I am going to make sure they are informed, yes. I am sure they will pass it on to those who regularly tangle with that individual, including the Justice League." A nod in the affirmative. The bison is pulled to the front of the grill, swiss cheese draped over it to melt just a touch. "If you like, I can make sure we have stocked pantries for halal food as well?" He offers, before placing the burger on a bun for her and plating it. "There you are."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
"It would be nice," Monet states, adding the potentially redundant, "Espcially around the holidays," as if repetition will make it more memorable. She nods to confirm his stated plans. "That's good," she says at a normal speaking volume. Then, must lower as she puts caramelized onions between the burger and the lower bun while putting crumbled blue cheese, chives and mayonaze between the upper bun and the burger, she says, "My sleep has been uneasy since the encounter, maybe this news will help," and then looks up at Henry as if checking to see if she said it loud enough to be heard.

Henry McCoy has posed:
There are some advantages to having heightened senses. He nods to her, finding a spot to lean against while the various burgers are all plated for whomever might come along after. "First time running into such an individual?" The man wonders, leveling his eyes on her. "It looks like he might have destroyed your phone?" There's no judgement or haughtiness in his tone, just concern for one of his students.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet actually glares at the professor... apparently she didn't mean for him to hear the comment. The expression fades fairly quickly however as she is not trying to be insubordinate after all. She switches to her not normally advertised telepathic ability and projects **You must not have read my file** into the elder mutant's mind as she takes a bite of the burger. Speaking she says, "The burger is delicious," before actually addressing the questions. "None other than my brother," she starts with and then her cheeks actually flush about the second as she says, "No, that was me trying to keep hold of it," and then quickly adds, "Its not a problem though, I've already replaced it."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Even in the brief contact, the contact is enough to discern the feral nature of Henry's mind. There's a battle of his logical mind and the animal that is the Beast - no matter the veneer he displays. An eyebrow goes up as the connection is made, Henry canting his head again. "I generally wait to read files until I am brought in contact via teaching, or through our extra-curricular activities, Miss St. Croix." He says, matter of factly. "I try to respect our student's privacy." It's not a chastisement, but there's definitely a bit of brusqueness to the response. "What of your brother?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
"Marius killed our mother. Father sent him away and when he came back he... transformed me and our baby sisters banished us both to..." The normally ultra confident Monet is hesitating as she explains this. She completely doesn't explain where she was banished before saying, "So after a couple of years of being fed on my sisters rescued me and... well, that was a few months ago. My father and I thought Xavier's and companionship could help me." After this she returns to eating her buffalo meat and blue cheese burger.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
It wasn't from the manor that Gabby makes her way to the smell of delicious things grilling, but from the woods. Through the woods come comes, over the back lawn, and just as she's about to come bounding up the steps... She pauses as she hears Monet speaking of her situation. For a moment she hesitates, wavering on whether she should come or go. It's a momentary decision as she puts on a grin pretending not to have heard. The steps are taken two at a time to the pool patio and she greets, "Hey! I thought I might find you out here, Doc," she teases lightly even as she dips over to his side to give him a one-armed hug around his waist in greeting. At least she was small enough she wouldn't get in the way of his need to tend the grill while she does this. Only then does she look toward Monet with a softer expression. "Would you like a hug, too? I'm good at giving them," she assures.

Henry McCoy has posed:
A hug is returned to Gabby as she greets. "Hello Gabby. Burgers are up and ready, all variety. Can I fix you one?" Henry asks, looking down to the young woman. A nod then to Monet. "I am sorry for your loss, Monet." The man offers, politely. "Is the school helping at all, then? Readjusting to the world as we know it, socially?" He wonders, before reaching over and taking up his tea for a sip.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
"Its better than being in Hell or alone," Monet replies to Henry without a trace of hyperbole despite her words. "Bon apres-midi," she says in greeting to Gabby to whom she shows her burger. "The buffalo patties are delicious and you may hug me," she says in response to the question. Permission more than acceptance but with what she was just explaining, perhaps understandable.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney doesn't seem to mind getting either one: If she said it was okay then it was okay with her too. Wordlessly she steps over to give Monet a very, very firm hug though she's careful not to bump her plate or dislodge the burger from it's spot. "That looks and smells amazing. And way fancier than anything I've had before," she admits as she holds the hug just a second longer. "I'm glad you're here. If you need help at all, just ask. Even if it's just needing a distraction. I'm good at those." With that she lets poor Monet go free again satisfied that she's done what she can given the situation. "Oh, yeah, I'll try what she's having then, Doc! I've still got a lot of foods on my 'need to try' list," she explains. "I'm trying to make up for the years being raised in the lab on 'approved meal plans.'" Her tongue sticks out to show just what she thought of that.

Henry McCoy has posed:
A bison burger is plated for Gabby, complete with the Swiss cheese and caramelized onions. "Enjoy, Gabby." A smile at the approved meal plan. A look to Monet, Henry offering a nod. "Alone is hell, I would counter - but we are glad to make your life better with company?" Henry offers, in earnest. "I cannot imagine what you've been through."

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet shakes her head. "Alone can be bliss," she says before stating the tautology, "Hell is Hell," without any further clarification before she returns to eating her burger.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney reaches out to take the plate from Henry with a quick, "Thanks!" It's then that she finds a spot to plop down to sit with the plate in her lap, and she has to agree with Monet. "Yeah, Hell is a lot different. Limbo kind of sucks and does weird things to your mind and emotions. Like, when we were disguised as demons in Limbo to help Julian, we started kind of..." She pauses here to gestuculate with her hand in a little flippy way as she tries to come up with the right terms. "It was like being really 'in character', you know? A lot of the magic down there apparently works with what you think and perceive so if you're disguised as something, you start to ... kind of lose yourself." The burger is lifted for a chomp, and she mumbles around, "Poor Julio got it bad."
