Synopsis: Gwen's wound from the Lizard's attack at ESU gets treated at home
Cast of Characters: Gwen Stacy, Eddie Brock

Gwen Stacy has posed:
It was quite the rough fight back at ESU. Against Lizard, but this time it was .., different. It certainly wasn't Peter, the one she had killed back in her own universe. And while there had been no recognition in the creature she knew there was some kind of minimal intelligence still there. Whatever it was looking for? She wasn't really sure, but her memories of the past had distracted her enough for her to get tagged by a claw.

It was a rookie mistake, really. After all these years she should know better. But now she was paying for that mistake by the large gash on the side of her ribs. Yes, her enhanced healing would take care of it...., eventually. But right now it was hurting like heck and she had to disinfect it.

"How about next time you just hit it till it stops moving and *THEN* you start thinking about the past, Gwen?", a beat, "Great, now I am talking to myself." she mutters. Her suit had been discarded to a corner of the bathroom and she was by the mirror, looking the wound over.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Another encounter with the woman in the white, black and pink spider costume. Ghost Spider. She raised confusing thoughts in Eddie Brock. The obvious connection to Spider-Man who himself made Eddie's blood boil. Yet she hadn't been part of Eddie's downfall like Spider-Man had. It was hard to not have her caught up in his feelings about the original wallcrawler.

Yet somehow he did feel differently about her. Had even helped her today, Eddie thought as he unlocked the door to Gwen's apartment building and headed up the stairs to give himself more time to think.

By the tine he reached her floor, the prospect of seeing the blond ESU student had helped calm his thoughts. She had that effect on him, even bringing out a slight smile. Eddie had stopped on the way home, picking up a single rose from a flower shop. It wasn't the bouquet he'd have liked to buy, but it was what he could afford.

He swings the door to the apartment open, stepping through. "Brought you something," he calls out as he closes the door behind him and goes looking for Gwen in the apartment.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Oh, crap.

For some reason Gwen hadn't put Eddie in the equation when she came home. And look at that damn Ghost Spider outfit right there on the bathroom floor. A white sleeve is even visible *beyond* the door. But Gwen reaches with a foot quickly and pulls it in, catching it up and tossing it into the laundry bin. Hopefully Janet will forgive her for mistreating the suit she created in such a manner.

"Hey Eddie. Sorry, I am in the bathroom. Had a little accident at ESU today..." she looks out the door, a blonde head appearing and she smiling over at Eddie. Shoulders are bare though so is she even wearing anything? But if he comes closer he will find her down to her undergarments, that gash visible on her side.

As an afterthought she then asks, "Was it food?" she could honestly use some...

Eddie Brock has posed:
The sound, and sight, of Gwen draws Eddie's attention over to the bathroom. Though the garment sleeve was pulled out of view in the nick of time before his eyes would have caught it. "There you are," he says, heading toward the bathroom when her mention of ESU suddenly sends a little jolt of worry through him.

He keeps his voice composed, though he has momentary images in his head of an alligator chasing Gwen across the Quad. "Oh, what happened? Another genetics student snap your goggle strap?" he asks in a voice that he makes sound teasing to hide his worry as he heads for the bathroom.

"Actually, it's a flower," he says, dangling the single red rose in the doorway before moving into it himself to see her inside.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"I wish." Gwen replies, letting out a sigh and then deciding to go with a half-truth. "Apparently there was some kind of trouble at the university. Some of the labs were attacked by some .., reptiles?" she is still out of sight as she tells that story. So at least Eddie doesn't have to see her clearly lying face while she goes through it. "So before we were evacuated of course that I went to look over some work and cut myself in some of the debris there. Nothing serious."

She looks up at last when Eddie appears by the bathroom, she on a pair of shorts and a sports bra. Clearly she didn't get home that long ago. On the side of her ribs there it is that mark. Close to where Ghost Spider was hit? Must be a coincidence! And it doesn't seem as serious as the claw mark on Ghost Spider was.

"A flower?" now she is curious, casting notice of that flower on the door and then beaming Eddie a smile. "I think that beats food." she approaches him to rest one hand on the man's chest. "Are you well?" She then asks, brushing some hair out of her face.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie Brock moves forward into the bathroom, one hand moving to rest on Gwen's torso near to the wound but far enough away to not cause her any pain. He gives a slight wince at the sight of it, just from seeing the woman he cares about hurt, rather than because of the severity. "That doesn't look too good," he says of the hurt, eyes lifting to focus on the brilliant blue gaze of Gwen.

"I owe you the other eleven still," he says, offering the flower over. "Why don't you come out and have a seat and I can put something on that for you?" he suggests, moving to the side so the doorway is free, his hand slipping around to the small of Gwen's back. "Yes, I'm good. So that's what was going on at ESU. Saw a flurry of activity on the street," he says. "Attack by reptiles?" he comments, shaking his head. "I'm glad you weren't caught up in it though."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Yea, I really don't like reptiles so good thing I wasn't there ..., or well, not directly." Half of that is true at least! Gwen smiles thankfully when Eddie suggests looking the wound over, taking the rose for herself and placing it close to her nose for a brief sniff. "Well, at least something good out of *this* night.." the rose! She reaches up on tiptoes to place a kiss on the man's cheek before walking out to go sit by the couch, footsteps graceful.

"You caught me right when I got home. I had only taken the alcohol out.." which is true, the bottle is there on the counter.

"This attack, and then the one at Wong's store.." A sigh. "I swear, too much excitement last few days.." she sits down with a grimace, making sure to not get blood on the couch. Even if she does consider it would be a good excuse to get rid of this old thing and buy a new one.. But nah, not enough money!

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie Brock leans down to aid the bestowal of the kiss to his cheek. He smiles and nuzzles his lips back onto the crown of Gwen's hand, then give her bottom a tiny spank as she heads back to the rest of the apartment. Eddie scoops up the disinfecting alcohol and some gauze and tape, then follows her out.

"Attack at the Wong's store?" Eddie asks. "You didn't tell me about that," he says as he moves to the couch, taking a knee on the floor in front of Gwen and examining the wound more closely. He rises again, going to get some paper towels and returning.

"This may sting a little," he tells her, putting a paper towel overtop of the bottle of alcohol and wetting it before using that to try to gentle dab the liquid onto the wound with as little resulting pain as he can manage. "What happened at Wong's? Robbery?"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Yea ..., it's why they closed up for a couple of days. There was a shootout." Then Gwen raising her hands, "I am fine, really. There were some people in there that helped. Apparently they wanted money to keep the store 'protected'." She shaking her head a bit. "And things got bad from there, don't think they will be bothering us again though." she assures Eddie.

Specially after a few were shot by some guy with a mechanical arm.

She lets out a hiss as she feels the alcohol on her skin, feeling it burn but eventually she settles down, pulling her legs up to her side.

"And now these reptiles. Have you ever felt as if you live in this nexus of trouble that is constantly seeking you? Sometimes I feel like that.." A sigh even as she smiles over at Eddie, then glances down at her wound. "Tis just a flesh wound." she mentions, pushing a bit of a british accent to it and smirks.

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie leans forward and brushes a kiss to Gwen's cheek. "Sorry," he tells her. "The pain is how you know it's doing it's job though. Or, you know. Sounds good anyway," he says, giving her a small grin. He gently dabs a few more times, making sure the wound is clean, and then sets the alcohol aside and gets the gauze.

"Protection racket. One of my first stories as an expose on a group doing that over in Flatbush," he comments idly while focusing on Gwen. He gently places the gauze over the wound and then unrolls a length of tape, tearing it with his teeth and using it to hold the gauze in place. Three more pieces of tape follow to hold the other sides. "I know what you mean. Wish I could take you away from the city for awhile," he tells her, reaching a hand down to rub it over her knee and thigh. "You deserve a bit of a summer vacation. During your summer vacation."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
A nod as Eddie talks about that story he did. "Maybe you should work on it again. You know, there may still be remnants of them around the area." She points out to the man but then pauses at the mention of vacation. She chuckles, brushing some hair out of her face and behind one ear, "And go where? It's not as if Wong pays glamorously though... But we could work something out.." she then eventually says.

"And vacations during summer?" She lets out a laugh. "I don't remember when was the last time I had those ..., sometimes I feel like it was a lifetime ago.." it sort of was!

"Do you have any good suggestions?"

Eddie Brock has posed:
Eddie double-checks his work on Gwen's side. "Good thing you didn't mess up this. I like this," he says, moving his fingers over to brush over the flat of her stomach and navel, giving her a grin with a twinkle in his eye.

The large man rises, gathering up the first aid essentials and returning them to the bathroom, and disposing of the paper towels that were used. "Hmm. You know I have an old buddy who lives down the coast in Virginia. Has a beach house. I've never visited but he's sent pictures," Eddie muses. "Always said I should come down sometime. And he tells me that 'This Gwen is too good to be true, obviously a drunken hallucination,'" Eddie says with a chuckle. "Maybe I can prove you exist and we can get a little time down on a white sandy beach for just the cost of the trip?" he suggests.
