Cast of Characters: Clarice Ferguson, Talia Wagner

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
It's the second day of Clarice's convalescence - and much to her annoyance, she's been kept to the Med Bay while the doctors try to fully understand what had happened to her, and how to correct. A rather distinctive collar sits around her throat - and it's only through a supreme effort of will that she manages to ignore it when all she wants to do is tear it off and throw it across the room.
She's currently sitting up on one of the beds - the head of the bed lifted as far as it will go - as she tries to study a tablet in her lap, the screen dimmed as dark as it will go. She can't focus on it for long, however, and is soon forced to turn the tablet screen side down with a frustrated sigh as she rubs at her forehead.

Talia Wagner has posed:
TJ pokes her head into Medbay and makes eye contact with one of the attendants on duty. She archs an eyebrow and then peers deeper in.

There is the target in all her pink(ish) glory.

TJ smiles and strolls in now watching the whole interaction with the tablet. Okay there is a bit of concern tugging the smile down to more neutral. "Hey Clarice..." she leans against the footend of the bed and studies the other woman. "So... sup?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Talia," Clarice answers. There was distinct relief in her voice to see a friendly face, and a smile appears on her features as she drops her hand from her face. It starts to veer self-consciously towards her collar - before she forces it to flop onto her stomach instead. "I, uh, hit my head pretty hard yesterday," she remarks in a wry voice. "And... got hit by some weird mutant power. The team's working on it, though."

Talia Wagner has posed:
Talia smiles at the relief in Clarice's voice and pushes off the foot of the bed to angle around.

Her tail snags a chair and drags it closer so she can flop into it by the side of the bed and look across to Clarice now.

"Uhgn.. concussions are the absolute worst... explains reading issues with backlit screens. Should bring you an e-reader." she looks worried at the collar though. "What sort of weird mutant power?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"We're not completely sure," Clarice says with frustration. "The docs tried to show me on the scans - screwed up my brain somehow. Scrambled my powers. I can't, uhhh... stop my portals. The just keep opening, at random, to places I've been to before. Or sent things to before." Her expression darkens as she adds, "And some of those places are distinctly unsafe, so... So we have to keep my powers supressed." Until they can get to the bottom of it, anyways.
"They're going to fix it," she says firmly. She has to believe that.

Talia Wagner has posed:
"I'm sure they are going to fix it... and yeah I imagine some of the places you have been would be really bad to open active portals to on a space station.." she thinks about it.

"Hell or around civilians.... that could be super bad for sure."

She looks around then back. "Well concussion and power dampeners doesn't mean special restrictions on diet or anything. I can make a run to the canteen and load up on anything you want to stash in here?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
Clarice starts to shake her head - and then abruptly stops herself - wincing as even that gentle rattling seems to have been a bad idea. "I, umm... I haven't been able to keep anything down yet," she admits. "They had to give me an IV earlier to make sure I stay hydrated," she adds in explination, letting out a frustrated sigh. "That'll pass, though. Odds are it'll be better by tomorrow. It's the power scrambling that's likely to be the bigger hurdle. Umm... the doctor compared it to a seizure? So we're going to try some medications for now..."

Talia Wagner has posed:
"Well.. uhm crap. Yeah being nauseous can definitely go hand in hand with a concussion. You should be past that in a matter of hours not days though on the bright side...."

Pause.

"Are they hesitant to use a mutant healer to speed up the recover because of the power scrambly power?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"I'm not at any risk from the concussion - it's just annoying," Clarice explains in a tired, aggrevated sounding voice. "And yeah, I think they're being abundently cautious. The guy who did this - he says it wears off. We're just not entirely sure how long it'll take. And we're hoping there's a medication I can take to control things so I can take the damn... collar off." She hesitates before the word, and spits out like it's a particularly vulgar thing to say.

Talia Wagner has posed:
"I mean.. abundently cautious when it comes to powers messing with your powers is a good idea." she nods agreeing. "I wouldn't want anythign to happen to you..."

The bit about the guy saying it wears off. "Do... we have our hands on the mutant who did this to you then... I mean why the hell would he do this?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"He was snatched up by a group that was brain washing and enslaving mutants. He was... defending his masters. Not really his fault," Clarice explains - her voice tired, but utterly devoid of malice. "We saved a lot of our people yesterday. It was a good day," she says quietly, but firmly. Was she trying to convince Talia? Or herself? "We sent them all to Genosha. I mean, the ones that choose to stay could... could help us rebuild. We'll see."

Talia Wagner has posed:
"Oh.. okay." not someone she has to hexbolt in the junk then.

"I hope they are all okay.... where did you rescue a bunch of mutants from brainwashing assholes?" she missed that memo it seems. Too many pots on the fire or something.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Magik teleported us in - it was some island in the middle of the Bermuda triangle, apparently," Clarice explains. "The mutants were being grabbed by Hydra - they were apparently scouring third wolrd nations for anyone they could grab." There's a flash of anger on her features - but it doesn't last for long. "Anyways, they're dead now, and hopefully they'll think twice before starting a program like that up again. I'm just- I'm glad we were able to save them. Our first attempt to save some of them resulted in all of the mutants dying." She goes to tap her throat - but ends up touching the collar instead, prompting an anxious, uncomfortable expression to take over her features for a moment. "They, uh... there were explosives implanted in their throats. Bunch of sickos."

Talia Wagner has posed:
"Well I mean if they are dead now they won't be thinking." sass.

"Hopefully any of their associates not on the Island get the very pointed message... fucking Hydra." she seems to have enough knowledge about them. "Also that sounds just up their alley.... brainwashed and chipped to explode... fascists."

"One time I had to fight Captain Hydra... that was a bad timeline."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Captain Hydra," Clarice repeats. "Is that... Captain America? But- Hydra?" She lets out a quiet groan. "I'm not sure my brain can handle alternate realities right now. But- well. At least I'm thinking clearer than I was last night. It was- ...it was pretty bad last night." She can only remember snippets of it, but what she does remember... doesn't feel like //herself//.
She shifts on the bed she's being confined to before asking uncertainly, "You think maybe we can watch one of those movies while I'm holed up in here? What do I need to watch next?" she asks uncertainly. "Did you say something about, uhh... Bill and Fred, or something like that?"

Talia Wagner has posed:
"Bill and Ted. It's a trilogy and yeah we can start that up for sure Clarice." she grins and looks around then spots the TV that can be swung around for patients.

"Also yes Steve Rodgers but Hydra Super Soldier.. it mega-sucked snake ass...."

"Are you up for movies now or need to stave off a bit more concussion first?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Yeah. That sounds... bad," Clarice agrees. There's a pause before she repeats, "...mega-sucked snake ass? You're odd. You know that, right, TJ?" she asks in a dry voice.
"I have no idea, to be honest. If it bothers me - I might end up listening more than watching. But it's not like I can do //anything else// right now," she remarks with frustration.

Talia Wagner has posed:
"Clarice.. I am sitting in an Asteroid base run by Mutants in orbit around the earth talking to my pink friend who can teleport... and I'm covered in blue fur."

This is all replied dryly back.

"Of course I know I am odd."

She pops up though to her feet "I'll get the movie queued up... going to snag myself a drink too, be right back."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"There's nothing wrong with your color or mine and anyone who says otherwise can have a conversation with my fist about it," Clarice mutters under her breath.
As the woman goes to rise, though, she calls after her, "I'll try a little ginger soda." See if she can keep it down. Maybe things have gotten better since the last time she tried? Who's to say.

Talia Wagner has posed:
TJ calls back "Coming right up." vanishign to the canteen. Hell she gets herself a to go travel mug full of rum and coke. For Blink though she gets straight, slightly de-fizzed, ginger soda.

Not ginger-beer though just straight up ginger-ale.

She meanders back in a short time later handling it off and flicking the TV on with the remote she snagged with her tail. Queuing up a funfilled Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
