Dropping In
Date of Scene: 25 July 2021
Location: Midtown
Synopsis: Now that Mike's back in NYC, Superboy swings by to catch up with him
Cast of Characters: Michael Hannigan, Jon Kent

Michael Hannigan has posed:
After visiting Hank at his lab, Mike eventually finds himself outside again, making use of the sidewalk. If there's one perk to Hank opening a lab in the area, it's so much closer than the RV the scientist had been relegated to over at the mansion.

There's a slight frown upon the musician's features as he makes his way towards City Spire. Thoughts to the previous conversation serves as sufficient distraction during the walk.

He's not sure what or how. But something happened while he was gone to shake Hank from the confidence he had displayed before. And right now Mike wanted SO much to be able to punch whatever the cause was in the face. If it has a face.

Jon Kent has posed:
It wasn't always that Jon had found himself in NYC, but he made an exception today, since he could fly quickly.

He decided to see if his friend was in town again, well, he knew Mike was back in town. Tour schedules and all.

Jon was wearing a new suit, looking much like Superman's, with a few new accents here and there. Especially with the sleeves that reached to half of his palms. "Mike?" He asked, hovering around the windows and balcony, his red cape billowing in the breeze. "Helloooo?" He called out.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
As Mike nears his building, the bit of side vision providing hints of blue and red where there should not be blue and red is enough for the musician to get distracted from his current line of thought. Steps slowing, his head turns, glancing up. Is he flying outside the condo window?

"Superboy?" Mike states curiously from his location all the way down at the sidewalk outside of the building.

It appears he's not the only one to notice as a few tourists in the city for the first time are stopping to point as well.

Jon Kent has posed:
"Oh..." Jon said to himself as he turned while he hovered up there, looking to Mike from up there.

Superboy descended gently to join Mike and came to a stop on the concrete, and approached with a smile. "Hey Mike!" He offered, looking to the musician and pillow-maker. "How was...oh. How was business?" He asks, looking as friendly as he ever had, maybe even more.

Jon waves to the tourists, even stopping for a spell to take a selfie with a ten year old.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Seeing Jon turn and look down. Mike gives a small chuckle, glancing down for a moment before looking eye to eye with the landing super-teen. One perk of this hero is that Jon is the same height as Mike so no having to look up or down.

Not factoring in flying. That. Changes things.

Unlike Superboy, Mike is not wearing anything to directly advertise his working persona so an appreciative glance is sent Jon's way as he pre-emptively avoids any key words that could tip off any eavesdroppers to his identity. He steps aside, allowing for Jon to first take care of the selfie with the child.

"Business was good." He answers when Jon's attention can switch back over to him. After the, procedure changes, didn't have another incident. So, hoping that sticks when I have to do the next round of business travel."

Jon Kent has posed:
Jon gave the kid a wave goodbye as he ran back to his mother. Turning back to face Mike, Jon smiled. "Good! I was concerned that things were...the same as before."

"Anything else? Or umm." He turns his head and sees some of the onlookers that were very close. "Should we go inside?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike looks to tourists that are taking advantage of their Metropolis in Manhattan moment. Indeed it doesn't look like out here would be the best place to have a lengthy costume. "Oh sure. Business talk. Come on."

Walking over to the front door, Mike looks to the watching doorman, "I think we can trust him in the building." He says, officially vouching for Superboy. Likely not necessary but sometimes formalities are the differnece between a doorman keeping their job and losing it. Best not tempt fate.

The doorman nods, holding the door open. "Indeed, Mr. Hannigan." He replies lowly, allowing the musician entrance first and keeping it open for the vouched for guest.

Celebrities meet interesting people. That is certain.

Jon Kent has posed:
"Hi!" He mentions to the doorman, before following Mike inside, and follows through. "So...nothing untoward happened after?" Jon asks, curious to know what went on after Superboy left, and had to get this nice new suit made by his grandma.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Welcome Superboy." The doorman responds in kind to the one bedecked in blue and red. No further conversation is sought as the door is closed behind Jon.

Mike nods, stepping a bit further into the lobby and over to be not as visible through the glass of the doorway. "Hopefully what happened in Metropolis was enough to discourage them. I don't think Gentleman Ghost was expecting me to have support there. And now that he tried. Well-"

Mike tilts his head to the side, "The people I told you about got hired on. We made adjustments to the hotel arrangements so I wasn't staying at the same place as the rest of the band. Security got upped everywhere and it was quiet."

Jon Kent has posed:
"Okay, so that's working good, huh? At least I'm not worried that guy's going after you without you having backup." Jon comments, looking to the musician. "And these people...they seem on the up and up." At least, somewhat. "So you're gonna continue on with what you got?" At least making sure his friend is still safe and sound for the next leg of the tour.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike nods, "When I'm on tour, we'll keep up the precautions. I don't think he'd try anything while I'm around here. I have a few friends close by and without concerts, I'm pretty much running on a full tank right now."

Jon Kent has posed:
"Good, if you ever need any more help, just...well. Shout. I can hear pretty well." Jon offers up with a wink. "Other than that mess...how are you?" Yes, Jon alongside his other family, don't just care about someone's physical well-being, they care about the mental side too. "Haven't seen you since that whole...pillow thing."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Or give a call." Mike replies back, "You gave me the nu-" He pauses, "...actually the phone that had the number in it got fried a little. Well, you can just call my number and it should show up on the replacement phone..."

He pauses, "Most of that time's been touring. It's been mostly concerts, rehearsals, and hotel rooms. Did run into a friend at one of the hotels so we got to catch up a bit. She's on a different tour. Might look into doing another project with her once we're both done. Pretty glad to be on the break between runs at the moment. Nice to be on home turf again."

He looks to the outfit, "And how have you been? I see you got a new outfit. Looks good."

Jon Kent has posed:
"Oh...ok! I'll give it a call when I get home!" Jon adds back, before he smiles at the compliment to his getup. "Yeah, my grandma made it for me. Thank you!" At least he gives credit where credit is due. "I needed a new one anyway...this one is a little stronger than a hoodie. But...you know. Sentimental...stuff."

Jon blushes a bit at that, but Mike also knew the history of that hoodie. "Summer is going alright, and well, nothing really huge has happened in a while, so that's always good."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mention of the hoodie brings back memory of the pillow. "Well, there's nothing wrong with a little sentimentality. But it looks like a good switch. My compliments to your grandma then. It's very good work. And I hope the rest of Summer goes by quietly for you. Unless you're at a rock concert." Mike gives a bit of a wink at the joke, "Then it's probably going to get loud."

Jon Kent has posed:
Superboy nods to Mike as he smiles. "I'll go tell her." Before he looks to the outside a bit. "In fact, I am gonna have to check back in with you a little later. I hear..."

"Okay, well. I need to go, dinner's ready." Yep, getting called for dinner. This boy just is not normal. "I'll see you later, Mike!" He offers up a hand for a high five before heading back out the front door, and waving goodbye to the doorman before lifting off the sidewalk, gently. No need to fracture the thing to jump up high, if you can just lift off.
