Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, Matthew Murdock

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Turns out that when Daisy asked Matt whether he had his lawyer suit ready to go she wasn't joking. Well, partially. Because no need to actually bring the suit with him. But the trip? Oh, that one was real. Much had happened in these last few weeks, the circle was tightening around Hydra and Dr. List. And with them having captured Bakshi it meant they had a wealth of information to go on. A wealth of information that wasn't exactly Daisy's focus.

Her focus was instead on the Inhumans that had been liberated from the programming being done by List and his cronies. One that made them turn against their former friends. And those needed to be taken care of. It was part of why Daisy had asked Matt to go with her, to better understand how they felt, and if they would still be under control. Better than anyone those sharp senses of Daredevil would know..

Besides, it had been a while since they had seen Jiaying. And it was about time that they pressed upon her that their relationship was a thing.

Up in the quinnjet Daisy is at the controls, the low rumble of the jet heard as they begin to near their destination. "We will be arriving soon. Mostly to check on the victims, make sure they are okay.." she explains.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt had been thrilled to hear from Daisy, not that he'd admit it but he worried every time she was away, between the government and HYDRA each time they said goodbye could be their last. And that wasn't taking into account the dangers he faced night to night, dangers evidence by his arm in a sling, a bullet had gotten through his suit and worse yet it was a bullet from a cop, he really had to do something about Daredevil's reputation.
5rThough for now he was fine except for a damaged shoulder, and his focus was on Daisy and the prospect of meeting her people again.

He'd put away his cane and glasses for the trip. Happy to be himself out of costume with Daisy's people, smiling as she announces they'll be arriving soon. "And all without crashing too," he teases her. "I'm impressed." Though there's humour in his tone he really does sound impressed. Letting his senses scan the jet again he adds. "Definitely an upgrade from the van though."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Contrary to popular belief I do *not* crash every single thing I drive. I had my van for years without uh ..., too many accidents." 'Too many'. Daisy does smile up at Matt though, her vibrations that of late have been worried and stressed now more appeased, "Had a sort of crash course while inside the 'matrix'.." she then explains, "Besides the theory from before. It sorta worked, but it'd look better with evil quinnjets pursuing us with missiles."

There's a look given at the sling though, and she clearly wasn't too happy with the explanation about the shot. And from a cop too!? "We really need to figure out a way to solve it, have you talked with that reporter April O'Neil?" she then questions. An interview with her could indeed help..

The quinjet slows down and starts to lower to the ground, soon enough the engines dying and Daisy unstrapping herself from the cockpit. "Alright, here we are.. It's still mostly a WIP but .., getting there."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Right," Matt grins. "Too many," he says feeling the change in her vibrations as she smiles and finds himself smiling in return, god he'd missed her, and that's there for her to feel from his own vibrations, the sound of his heart, the way his attention has remained fixed on her through this journey. Chuckling Matt says, "I'll take your word about the evil quinjets," he turns his heads then brow raising. "So you learned to fly this in Framework? One of those Matrix uploads you and Jemma figured out?" He was curious about them but it also gave him a moment to stall about the sling. When he does speak on it, he nods.

"I'm going to drop in on her, in costume, see if we can set something up.Hopefully she doesn't carry mace or a taser," he says with a faint grin. Like the Bat in Gotham, Daredevil had a habit of surprising his allies with his sudden appearances as often as his enemies.

As they touch down, Matt unbuckles himself and stands, letting himself sense what little of the new village his senses can detect through the stealth-equipped plane they're in.

"I'll take your word for it," he smiles as he gets back almost nothing. Then he reaches for Daisy's hand with his good arm, "Thanks for thinking of bringing me," he says earnestly before adding with smile. "I'll try not to argue too much with your mom."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Sort of. I learned it with May and Bobbi." Daisy explains, boots echoing on the metallic floor of the quinjet as she makes way to the opening hangar door. She is dressed in uniform, black and blue, along with black boots up to her calves. This *is* sort of official after all. No casual Daisy while on mission! ... Most of the times. "And there was a lot of theory, but not exactly practice in actual scenarios. Being in the matrix sort of .., solved it." then she grinning, "No, there was no upload up to my brain. The only thing I actually *learned* was singing .., sort of." a beat, "If you consider pop stars as singers.."

Bit of a pause as she steps out of the quinjet, looking over her shoulder. "She used autotune." gasp! Begone, pop singer Skye.

When Matt speaks of dropping in on April there's a bit of a laugh, "She might. Doesn't she have that Gotham ex-criminal as a roommate? She's probably getting in trouble all the time."

The village is still new. Very new. People are still getting used, a general feeling of aprehension in the air. SHIELD resources had made it so the place was getting up and running faster than if they had just fended by themselves though, but there's still the sound of construction going as they create a little piece of Inhuman heaven in the midst of this remote forest. She smiles, hooking hand with Matt's when the man takes hers and then turns to look ahead to the settlement. Her mother is, of course, waiting.

"Hello, Daisy." a look then to Matt, "And company." ouch. She is silent for a few moments before adding in a more lighter tone. "I still remember your name, I was but joking." clearly she needs some help with her jokes!

Daisy walks forward to give her mother a hug. "Glad you could be here to receive us. We were coming to see about San and Ren. They are settling well, I hope?" she gestures for them to move along down the trail.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Ah, for a minute there I thought we had a goldmine, I could imagine how much a law student would pay to have tort law or contracts uploaded into their brain," Matt grins as he follows her out of the jet. Adding. "And I still need to hear these singing talents in action," before he goes quiet, still smiling as he greets Daisy's mom. "Jaiying, good to see you again," he says before offering a self-depricating look, "To a certain value of see. I'm glad to see you and your people have found a new home," he says as they start to move down the trail before the topics switch to the rescued Inhumans.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It is a new reality." Jiaying replies to Matt. The conflicting feelings inside her show that she isn't exactly fully sold on this idea yet. But at least she appears willing to try. "We are all figuring out a place in this new world." post-afterlife. The woman walks calmly down the pathway, leading them towards a tent, "And you ..." The woman's gaze goes to the injured arm, " ..., are you trying to put more stress on my daughter?" nothing left unsaid. The tone is stern, but laced with a tinge of worry.

As they reach the tent Jia finally answers the earlier question. "They are not well, but will recover now that they are with their people once again." she explains, the woman's whole demeanor turning cold, deadly almost. "I remember well what I went through under Hydra captivity. Their methods haven't turned less evil. In fact, they are only becoming more so.."

Daisy lets out a sigh. "Mind conditioning." she says, a look to Matt, "It's been a delicate process of assuring them they do not have to ..., comply ..., to anything they do not want to do."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt can feel the visceral signs of that inner conflict within Jaiying, and so he offers, "If there's anything I can do to help you or your people, just ask," he reaches a hand towards Daisy as they walk. "I know how much this place's success means for your people and for Daisy."

As for his injury he offers a wry smile, "Professional hazard," he explains. "And Daisy understands my job has dangers just like hers but we both know if we didn't do what we did, we wouldn't be the person the other one loves." Yes, he used the L word in front of Daisy's mom. "So, in that way, I hope it helps Daisy's stress, knowing the man she loves hasn't changed despite everything going on in the world." Matt, always the lawyer.

HYDRA gets a frown, "So it's not just like cult brainwashing, but honest to goodness mind control?" he asks, some colour going out of his face at the thought. "What can be done to help them?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"It's a question of survival." Jia replies, still with that firm tone of hers. "And our only alternative..." that or going to live up in the moon with the rest of the Inhumans. But somehow that doesn't seem an option at the moment. Specially not with so many new Inhumans cropping up all the time. They need to be .., closer.

With Matt going with the L word it makes both Daisy blush but also Jia to lift her chin and let out a hmph that is very close to being amused. "You know your way around words." she admits, "Calvin did too." perhaps softening just a touch. But as they get into the tent she leaves those matters be, the focus being on the Inhumans.

The tent has quite a few inhumans within, mostly eating, it seeming to be their communal 'cafeteria' of a kind. It's not as if they are many, but most seem to be here. Greetings come from here and there, Daisy waving and greeting a few with warm words, making sure to introduce Matt before they move further in to where San and Ren are. They do stand out to sharp senses with the kind of suspicion they bear, at both themselves but also at where they are at. Clearly it's a ll a work in progress still. Daisy looks over to Matt as they approach and answers him. "That's what I hope we can figure out." how to help them. "But making them feel welcome is one." she lifts her hand.

"Hey, been a little while since we saw each other. How's the recovery going?"

It's San that answers first, his tone quiet. "First time I ain't being looked at funny so it's good. Just ..., memories are still a jumble." he looks at Matt. "You one of ours too? Like Gordon?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Blinking Matt asks Daisy and her mom, "The moon?" like he'd missed a joke even if their tone was fully serious.

The heat rising in Daisy's cheeks gets a smile from Matt, "It's true," he says with a simple shrug. As for his way with words? "It's what I do," he says with a faint self-depricating smile. "Whether I'm any good at it, I'll let Daisy fill you in on that," he teases before falling silent as they approach the tent.

Nodding about the help, "Seems like a good first step. Where did they come from? Afterlife or has HYDRA been grabbing up your people off the streets?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
No joke. Specially as neither of them seems to dismiss it as such. Not that either Daisy or Jia explain further on the matter! Instead they focus on the two Inhuman. A smile comes up from Daisy and she nods slowly, "Well, this isn't exactly Afterlife, but we will make sure that it becomes a home for all of us." the young Agent gently says, resting her hip against the side of a table.

It's Ren that answers Matt's question, looking up from her contemplations. "We used to live in Afterlife. The original one." she gesturing with one hand to what's surrounding them. "This is .., very different. But most people we knew are here."

Jia nods at that and speaks up, "There's more, but many were injured still so they have been kept resting. San and Ren apparently shook off the conditioning when they fought against the SHIELD Agents."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Huh," Matt says "So people other than the Justice League live on the moon," he says with a mix of amusement and wonder. "I've got a million questions, but I figure you'll tell me the important bits if I need to know them.

Then it's onto the tent and he listens as Ren speaks, "I'm sorry they took you," he says. "I was at the fight when they came, I'm sorry we couldn't do more."

His attention shifts to Jia."Are there more missing?" he asks meaning beyond those healing elsewhere.

His attention goes back to the two Inhumans casually checking their vitals with his senses for signs of anything amiss. "I'm glad you're both free," he says. "And back with your people."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"A few." Jia nods her head slowly, sounding worried, "And considering what San and Ren told us..." she shakes her head, "They are being treated in a way that ...." she stops talking, inside that same rage that overtook the woman when they were at Afterlife, when she drained one of the Hydra with her powers. Oh it felt good back then...

Daisy shifts her attention to her mother, a faint smile. "We will find the rest, and bring them home." warmth in her tone, she then looking at Matt, "We know they were planning something big, we will be moving soon." she assures him.

The two other Inhumans remain listening, their vitals normal-ish, or at least as normal as can be expected. Some spikes of anxiety felt on San as they talk of Hydra planning something big, then grief. And shame. They do mostly seem to remember what they were made to do in the past.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"It sounds like it," Matt says about how the missing must be treated. "I hope you get them back soon, but with Daisy and her friends on the case I'm sure you will," he smiles at Daisy then, reassuring and supportive. As for the big event coming. "What sort of event are we talking about here?" he asks this is definitely the first time he's heard about it. "If you need some people with abilities, I can speak to the Defenders, none of them would have a second thought about taking down HYDRA, especially if it means helping people in need."

He nods towards Ran and San as examples of that last, silently pleased they seemed to be alright, at least in the physical sense.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Terrorist attacks." Daisy states, her expression taking a grim look to it, "And we -cannot- let that happen. If Inhumans become seen as a threat..." she shakes her head slowly. "It could just about bring what happened inside the Framework.." and she knows well how *that* went. Though her worry seems replaced by solemn determination and she nods at Matt's offer. "We can coordinate, and with your abilities .., we may just be able to root out some of the missing cells.." she tells Matt.

There's a look down at her smartwatch, a frown. "We need to go." this said to Matt, tone a touch more urgent. "There have been developments on the search for the missing Inhumans, SHIELD is being mobilized.."

A look to her mother, resting a hand on her shoulder, "We will return soon, with our people."

And then it was time to go, back towards the big city, the fight of their lives soon looming in.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt nods, "Just say the word," he says about he and the Defenders helping out, but then it's time to go and he turns to Jaiying before he follows Daisy. "She'll be safe, I promise you, and thanks for letting me join her on this visit everything I heard will stay with me."

Then just like that he's running after Daisy to get to the jet.
