Cast of Characters: Bobbi Morse, Daisy Johnson, Phil Coulson

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi's on leave. Sort of. Quasi-leave? She has no active cases. The mission of routing out traitors that was foisted upon S.P.O.T. by Peggy over a year ago has lead them to some dark dark places and now finally, thanks to Talbot of all people, they are coming back out in to the light.

Fury appeared miraculously out of no where to talk to the president; little do people know that it was a phone call from May that got him rushing back here like a life depended on it - which it does.

Which all means that casual Bobbi strolls in to the labs / medical area of the Playground. A no sleeves top in a pale blue and dark denim jeans, sneaks, her hair tied back. She smiles when she sees that Daisy is awake and takes a seat next to her, "Hey red eyes, how you feeling? I got word you were looking for me."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy has been having some reaaaaaal fun in being bed bound. And by fun she means being bored out of her mind due to being bed bound. Of course that being unable to move is just details. And there's still all the tingles on her senses and the haunting of those fading echos to deal with. Still, she had received some news, their mission had been a success so it was reason to celebrate, wasn't it?

Maybe not just yet. List still has to be put to justice.

The medical area where Daisy is has all the 'beep' mechanisms connected to her, announcing that she is indeed alive even if still suffering from exhaustion and her body seems to have been exerted beyond what would be normal. At least there are no broken bones. A couple of jello boxes are on the table next to her bed but no one seems to be around at the moment.

"Red eyes?" She asks curiously, looking up and offering a tired smile up at Bobbi, "How are you doing? You seem to have recovered well.." truth be told she wasn't fully sure on what had happened inside the skyscraper.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi smiles, "No one told you? I'm sure you'll see it online soon enough. You were bleeding from your mouth, your nose,.. your eyes,.. your ears. Very dramatic, especially when you were rambling about the future is what we make of it. Very Terminator vibes. Did you suddenly time travel like in looper while saving thousands of peoples lives?"

The eyebrow is raised as she pokes fun at Daisy for being a big damn hero. She does seem to be in a much better mood than normal. "I'm ... getting there. Day by day. Hunter is a big help. Also, we own dogs now. Two. Jacob and Nona. You'll have to meet them. They're adorable."

She smiles, "I barely got a scratch on me. Big woman, very strong, much muscles. She kicked the crap outta me for a bit. But," she winks, "I handled her. Fitz and Simmons got the support shielding in place. Hunter looked after the other Inhuman who was so very very confused when you made, oh I dunno, the _whole building_ to sing. Turns out you really are a pop star."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Well, in a way .., it sort of felt like time travel." Daisy does seem a bit surprised at being told she was bleeding out. But then again, she had yet to read her own medical chart. And then would probably need translation from Jemma for it. For such is her knowledge of medical affairs! "All the echoes came out to help, similar to how you were attacked by one a while back?" a beat, ".. but these ones came out in a good way."

"But they are all gone now. Including Fu." Her expression gets a touch somber and she looks up at the ceiling, being in silence for a bit. She stays like that for a while until she finally speaks up.

"Did you do it in Vegas? I am hoping it was something extravagant. Not inviting me to be there though ..." she tsks, "... I would hug you, but you know, can't move and all that. But I am glad for the two of you. About time, really." she grins, looking over at Bobbi.

Talk about her being an actual pop star? The only thing she replies with is a groan. Uh-Oh.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
"You were all over the news. Still in New York a bit. Some aliens have turned up in orbit though, so that's dominating the news. Shi'ar. They claim to have come in peace, but, well, if you have to say it there's a good chance you're lying. S.W.O.R.D. is working it."

She finds Daisy's hand and gives it a squeeze as she thinks of the echos. Her experience with one wasn't pleasant. But they meant a lot to Daisy, especially Fu. "May be there's others?" She doesn't know how this works.

The ring has been noticed. She lifts it up in front of Daisy's face for her to see and says, "New York City Hall. Very bland affair until the ninjas turned up." She says that with such a straight face you'd easily believe she's not lying about the ninjas.

Bobbi digs in to her thigh pocket and takes out her phone. She unfolds it and types in a few things, then holds up a video for Daisy to watch. It's from a person outside of the skyscraper. "Yo is that Quake?!" a voice is heard and the camera zooms in on Daisy running out of the skyscraper.

The camera work isn't great but it looks up in the sky as Falcon flies past and in the distance two F-15 raptors fly by firing missiles. "HOLY SHIT!" The camera pans quickly and three HYDRA quinjets explode and debris starts to fall out of the sky.

"Yo yo yo!," comes the sound of the camera persons friend again and they look back to the building with Daisy thrusting her hands out, "What's she doing?" the camera holder says breathing harder as he runs past several people to get a better shot.

The building starts to vibrate, all the windows shimmering in the midday sun. It's then that the building starts to hum in the air. It's loud.. and beautiful. "Holy shit man.. Holy shit man.. HOLY SHIT," the friend says excitedly, "That's Quake yo. Quake's doing that!" Obviously a fan. The video ends there.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Shi'ar.." That has Daisy frown a touch. Only consolation is that it isn't the Kree! But that does bring her mind to what she wanted to talk with Bobbi. Of course that she doesn't speak it up right there. Because .., ninjas? That has her smirk. "Ninjas? Pics or gtfo." yes, they better exist! "Were they selfie-positive?" clearly she is challenging Bobbi's claim the ninjas were real!

Because everyone knows ninjas do not exist.

She looks at the video on the phone, watching Falcon, then what she is doing on the building. "I barely remember doing that.." she admits, blinking once. It indeed does sound beautiful. The patterns seem to shift and shimmer in her mind.

"It's Kree, or part of it at least." She murmurs, "Something old. I could understand, with the voices of the echoes with me and ..." her eyes go to Bobbi, "... what did you do to me back there?"

Yes, she remembers that!

Bobbi Morse has posed:
A tight little smile when Daisy repeats the word Shi'ar. The fun never stops but at least SWORD is on it. A snrk of amusement as Daisy demands pictures of the ninjas. "Uh huh.. very well." She taptaptaps on her phone and up comes a news article about 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' and the ninja attack on the city hall. There's a photo of the police with two dozen people handcuffed, beaten up, and generally looking dazed in black ninja clothing - though the masks are removed and on the ground.

"It's not like we were prepared for a fight exactly. We had to improvise.. but the ninjas took care of video surveillance for us so we could really let loose. Hunter has a fantastic sweeping kick you know." She says it quite proudly.

That Daisy can barely remember what she did gets an eyebrow raised, "Oh going for the amnesia play are we. That's a classic, tiresome to keep up though." She winks.. but then pauses in her seat as Daisy suddenly talks about Kree. "I don't know," is her initial answer. I felt the adrenaline kick in and my heart start to do its bad thing and then I just touched you and everything felt.. better, like I knew we were going to be alright. Because Daisy was supercharged.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"No no no.." Daisy does a weak head shake at Bobbi trying to show her some news clips. "Selfies or bust." she says, "And wedding photos..., are there any better pics than ones with ninjas? But that's what you deserve for not inviting the rest of us.."

The talk about the sweeping kick just has Daisy waggle her brows in a suggestive manner. Because Daisy has a sort of dirty mind. Of sorts. No comment out of her thoough!

Instead her focus is on the next topic. The Kree. An what Bobbi did. She frowns just a touch, "You .., knew what to do?" it has her look up at the ceiling again, then to Bobbi again. "Whatever you did it unlocked something, maybe that's what made it able to call the other echoes, I don't know..." it's all still a big mystery.

"I saw those writings though, and I understood them for a few moments."

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil's been in a restive state of drugged, thanks to a morphine drip. Given his earlier days of restlessness and just 'out of sorts'ness, there were 'some' that believed it to be more merciful than punitive. That, and that he actually needed the 'time out' for his body to at least begin to recover from the indignities heaved upon it. He has that hanging, IV for fluids; and the greatest of indignities, a hospital gown.

Nothing is forever, however, and while drugged, Phil is waking, though groggy. The voices in the room he can focus on, getting his addled mind to rise at least to the task of identifying them at the very least. At the very most?

"I hate ninjas."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi smirks at the jabs about their very private wedding. So private the only proof is the marriage certificate. "You saw it? and understood it? What did it say?" Because she surely didn't understand it. Of course, powering up Daisy wasn't the most significant thing that happened to her on that mission.

It was the second time she used her gift instinctually when fighting (and getting her arse beat by) Alaris. Quite the opposite from Daisy, she powered her down until she was manageable. The implications are severe and she needs to talk to Blackagar about it.

Not the least Blackagar needs to be told about The Unspoken being there in the metro making his own Inhuman soldiers to fight for HYDRA's cause. That's a whole new level of scary.

"It just happened naturally. I felt in danger and then I didn't..." Bobbi turns her eyes over to the other critically injured bed. Phil is stirring, "Coulson...," she says with her breath catching in her throat. Last night she talked to Lance about how she didn't think Phil would want to talk to her; not after the 'it's classified' moment. "Welcome back."

Bobbi leans in and whispers to Daisy, "Want me to move your bed closer to his?" The first day she met Daisy and Phil it was clear that they had a special bond. It was Phil who brought Daisy in to SHIELD after all. Surrogate father? definitely a better influence than Cal.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I don't remember." Daisy admits about the writing. "Right at the tip of my tongue but then .., it just slips away." but she puts that away, at least when it seems Bobbi is going to talk about something else. "You felt in danger..? Are you talking about something else?" she questions. "Because there seems to be more to it than what you did with me." yes, Daisy is a spy. Reading people and all that!

Phil's voice brings a big smile out of Daisy though, she turning her head slowly to look over at the other bed, "Hey, sleeping beauty." she calls out, "Yes, ninjas are bad and wear sexy leather. Nothing to see there.." she says in a sort of not-really agreement with Phil.

Eventually she does get a more respectful tone and says in an earnest manner, "I am glad to see you awake, Sir."

A side-whisper to Bobbi, "Yes, drag us closer before he wakes up fully."

Phil Coulson has posed:
For the most part, words are swimming just out of reach. He hears the sounds of voices, even the words, but context and retention are beyond him. As a result, conversations in front of him right now are probably going to be forgotten once again until some 'ah ha' moment. //No one// is ever that lucky that Phil forgets something permanently, and he has absolutely no problem with throwing something back.

"Those, I wouldn't hate." The words come haltingly, his eyes still closed. He's lying there, good arm under the sheets, the one that requires some attention, laying out and above the sheets. It's outer wrapping is gauze; the sight of nothing where there should be a hand might be a touch disconcerting.

Maybe it's better that he doesn't have his eyes open?

"Awake," and he offers a ghost of a smile, "the sun is war-"

Wait. There is a dawning recognition of voices, and the struggle is there to identify them. Slowly, he does figure it out, and his eyes open slowly.

Not on a beach in Tahiti. Not under the warm sun, sitting on a beach, just watching the ocean...

"What--"

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi shakes her head, "Ninjas don't wear leather. That's ridiculous Daisy." Important points to cover. She gets up from the seat and with absolute easy moves Daisy's bed closer to Phil's. On the good arm side so that when Phil is more awake he and Daisy can have some physical contact with hands.

"Oh boy. Looks like Coulson is on the good drugs," she says and then looks at his chart. "Mhmm. The very good drugs." Her eyes skim over the details, the expression on her face going serious for a moment. She's no medical doctor but she knows what the chicken scratch scribbles mean.

She looks over at his wrapped hand and then puts it down. Tainted terrigen. He's lucky to be alive. She looks down at her phone and taps through orders and notes that Fitz is alright lined up to see Phil about a prosthetic. She nods and then sits back down next to Daisy. "You two are a pair. Just once you two should try being heroes without hurting yourselves," she says with irony. Every serious agent has ended up in the med bay - her last big stint was after she returned from Lian-yu and her encounter with Whitehall.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Actually they do." Daisy points out, adamantly, to Bobbi. "I live in Hell's Kitchen. I have intimate awareness of ninja appareil." look, it's true there's a lot of Hand over there, and ninjas and ... She smiles faintly at Bobbi when she gets the beds closer, nodding her thanks to the older agent.

A brow arches up at the talk of drugs, but the serious look on Bobbi's expression has her squint her eyes at her, "What is it?" she can't really see from her position about Phil's hand. In fact even turning her head is something that's done slow and with difficulty. But eventually she does finish it up, smiling at Phil. One hand reaches out to touch his arm, even if most she can reach is the gown.

"Can't do that." being heroes without hurting themselves. "Part of the DNA. Besides, I really try to not be here .., I hate the pudding.." she confesses up to Bobbi.

But then her tone goes lower and she speaks up, "We are here, Phil."

Phil Coulson has posed:
"Can dream.." and his tones do sound as if they're more dreamscape than focussed in the here and now. With Bobbi's checking over his charts, the drugs also had a very large hand in not giving him enough consciousness to play out previous horrors. 'Let me die' probably wouldn't have gone over too well, resounding through the lab.

The contact, Phil can actually //feel// the proximity of Daisy. It's truly more felt than consciously recognized, and that faint smile returns, though in response to Bobbi's words.

"I don't feel a thing.."

Wait... he's hurt?

A frown crosses his features as he begins to fight back against the morphine, trying to gain some mental ground. "Hurting-" and the first thought goes to, "Daisy.. unconscious." Now he remembers that part. Of course, it had come over coms //after// he'd had his hand cut off.

He does have his priorities.

But there's her voice. Taking stock...

Phil finally gets those blues focussed, and they home in on the standing Bobbi. "Morse." Visual recognition. Always good.

Eyes rise to the IVs, and he gets that middle distance look again. Remembering.

It's easy to determine exactly //when// Phil recalls the moment in that the monitor first starts to beep with a measure of his increased heartrate. "No... no.." At least he didn't die?

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi glances around the labs and doesn't see Jemma up. But with Phil waking up, she sends a text through to both Jemma and May to let them know he's conscious. "Unclear. Some kind of direct contact with tainted terrigen," she says about Phil's injury.

"Lance and I assumed it was Hand coming for a bit of payback. They were specifically there for.. well.. me. But Lance was more than happy to join in on the fight." The insistence that she is going to get hurt being a big hero results in Bobbi tapping Daisy's nose, "That's the punishment you get then, a nose boop."

"Where were you just now Coulson...," she asks at the odd words he was saying. Drugged up people make for the most interesting conversations sometimes.

Her eyes sweep over the eaten jello containers at Daisy's mission about the pudding. "You're a special agent now Daisy, you could request and improved menu for medical - I'm sure the Chief would be happy to oblige. She's spent enough time in a medical bed, may be she feels the same way."

The increased heart rate on the monitor has her raise an eyebrow, "It's okay Coulson. You're safe. Turn your head. Daisy's right here with you and she's just fine. She was a big damn hero, .. you were too for that matter. Lots of lives saved."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"You shouldn't boop my nose when I can't answer in kind. It's against the rules.." Daisy says about the seriousness that is nose booping. But Bobbi's talk about Phil having been in contact with terrigen makes her pause. "Wait.., what?" she looks again at Phil. He seems .., alive. Good. She knows what happens when people get in contact with terrigen if they aren't actually Inhuman.

She isn't exactly paying attention to the heart rate monitor, but she does see the that faraway look on Coulson's expression. It's not one she is used to seeing. Coulson is usually a man of the moment. Focused. So she brings her low reserves of strength to operate again, hand moving to find Phil's and squeezes it.

"I am awake now. And we did it, Sir. The mission was successful.." there is pride in her voice, of a mission accomplished. At least for the immediate moment.

But that's all they have sometimes. Moments.

Phil Coulson has posed:
For those hours, asleep, not all of them were dreamless. On a beach, watching the surf, sunglasses, bathing suit...

The bit of reality seeping in certainly does take a minute to get used to, even in the best of times. And the realization that he does remember those last few moments of trauma.

He has no hand.

'Tainted terragen.' It's a great way to pull him out of his own head; talk about other things. Phil nods his head once, more out of an attempt to see if things are working than acknowledgment, but his next words obviously means he understood. "Contained?" The word holds so many meanings.

'Was the terragen contained?'

'Was the information to the public contained?'

The designation of 'special' to Daisy brings another ghosted smile and with that successful nod, actually adds to it to turn his head, particularly as her hand finds his. Fingers wrap, and return that squeeze as blues find their focus, his mental acuity gaining a foothold in the here and now. There is that attempt, however, to squeeze that other side, and.. there's nothing there. No feedback. Nothing.

"Successful." It seems a strange word in his mouth, the word now a touch distracted.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi knows how confusing it is coming out of the drug stupor. She looks to Daisy and then says to Phil, "Yes Sir. Contained. Seven casualties for the entire operation. Five civilians in total. A man named James who went by the alias Inferno. And Gayle Trushot, one of HYDRA's top generals who was apparently leading the attack. Part of the HYDRA crew that were going to swoop in and 'save the day'.. every one else, bumps and bruises that'll heal."

"We saved the tower, you saved the metro, May stopped HYDRA claiming to be the good guys... oh yeah, and whatever it is you said to Talbot? he sent in F-15 raptors against the HYDRA quinjets."

She stands back up and says, "I can go get Jemma now that you're both awake.. she'll want to check on you both."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
They got Gayle? That's a surprise. "About time that one was taken down.." is Daisy bitter about the woman copying her powers? Yes, she is. "Got the easy way out though. Should had spent the rest of her life in jail." woah, bitter indeed! Still, it's a victory.

Daisy isn't exactly a connoisseur about how one is supposed to come out of a drug stupor, but something does feel off on Coulson's whole behavior, so she looks at Bobbi with a sort of wide-eyed 'is this normal' look. Not that she verbalizes it, simply just squeezing the man's hand again, content with being close.

"You were a big damn hero, sir. Again. So much about wanting to stay on the sidelines and let the field agents do the work, uh?" she teases lightly.

"No need to go just yet, you should stay a bit more." Though she's also clearly oblivious to whatever tension there is between Morse and Coulson.

Phil Coulson has posed:
Talbot.

He did have a conversation with the Colonel, didn't he. He owes the man; he'll have to look him up once he's out of the ... where is he? Oh, yeah.. the medical facility.. somewhere. Still, he's safe.

That last thought gains an exhaled sigh in reaction, and he seems to lean back into his pillow. "Never said I wanted to be sidelined," is murmured. "Long history of working administration." Just look at Peggy. Heck, look at Fury. "All field at heart." After all, how can one command if there isn't a tacit understanding of exactly //what// is out there? This is where SHIELD deviates from the other Agencies. There are very few desk jockeys.

Phil turns his head to look at Daisy briefly, "Besides, I can't let you out there by yourself." Even if there's a whole team around her.

Blue eyes turn back to Bobbi, "I knew I could rely on the Colonel."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi pats Daisy's feet under the blankets and nods her head to Phil, "No sir, no one wants to be sidelined." She shrugs a little to Daisy.. yep.. people on drugs say weird things. She ponders, "Well, you certainly got a good read on him. The guy has been promoted to General. Apparently, whatever you said to the man got Fury talking to the President of the United States -- SHIELD is coming out of the dark. It seems like you'll be spending more time with Talbot now..." She gives Daisy a small smile, "Okay. You two rest up. Chat. I'm sure Jemma will be by soon to do rounds." With that, she turns on her heel and heads out of the med bay.
