Synopsis: Billy stops by Shaw Studios to put in his work study paperwork
Cast of Characters: Michael Hannigan, Billy Batson

Michael Hannigan has posed:
What does one normally do when they're off of work? Sleep in? Go shopping? Go watch some tv? This is a question a lot of people have likely pondered when they find themselves with a bit of extra time on their hands. As for Mike, who is currently in between legs of the tour, the first thing he does when he gets back to NYC is swing by the studio.

... Wait, what?

Yes! Mike is using his time away from work to head to work. He's got what people often call 'A problem' and right now Wade Shaw, owner of said studio is currently in his office with Mike and actively showing the musician the error of his ways.

"Mike! Shouldn't you be at home?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson has another problem. He's moved out at his tender age to High School dorms! This requires money. Rosa and Frank are helping as much as they can. he got a grant for part of his expenses but he still needs to hustle. Fortunately he can and the office put him onto a job at Shaw Studios as a gofer, go between, procurer, fixer. Let us say he has experience in getting stuff he needs. It doesn't hurt that in a pinch he can take the Lightning Express. Besides, he read about that nice Nick Drago get dogpiled by evil spirits and demons and now he will have the Champion of Mankind bringing him coffee. Billy raps on the door to Mr. Shaw's office, then realizes there's some shouting. Maybe he should have waited...

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike is sitting back on the futon that's still in sofa mode, stretching his arms before bringing them back to lace the fingers behind his head. A normal position? Probably not but the general posture conveys a bit of relaxation despite the stories that Billy is going on. "I could be but, this spot's just as comfortable as what's at the condo."

Wade, who has the desk between him and Mike, tilts back in his chair as he looks over to Mike, narrowing his eyes. "To REST. Mike. To REST. That's the point about splitting these things up into legs. I can't ha-"

The discussion is paused as rapping on the door draws attention over to there. The blond clears his throat, "Come in."

Real talk averted, Mike gives a wry smile, closing his eyes.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson peeks in cautiously. Magic word never far from his lips. His eyes fix on Wade and he gives a nervous smile and holds up a sheet on the school stationary.

"Uh... I'm Billy... William Batson. I got a referral from Happy Harbor High about a work study position as an Intra-Office Message Distributor." He holds the paper up as if to ward off attacks. Then he spies the blond on the futon.

"Mike! What are you doing here?! Are you a custodian or something?" He immediately regrets the outburst. Stay focussed! But, it is good to have a friendly face!

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Wade looks over to the nervous student and returns the smile, his meant to be more reassuring. He holds out his hand for the paper before Billy's addressing of Mike causes for the studio owner to guffaw in laughter.

Mike opens his eyes, looking over to Billy as his name is blurted out. A brow rises as he gets mistaken for a custodian but Wade's laughter causes for him to look over to the older friend who is apparently having trouble breathing now due to the laughter.

"Looks like It is a good thing I came by... Looks like I'm taking over on introductions." Mike muses before holding a hand out for the paper. "Well Billy, I am Michael Hannigan, and along with session work, I act as Liaison to Happy Harbor for the Work Study program. At least when I'm not traveling for work." He gestures over to the blond, "That ball of laughter is Wade Shaw. Owner of Shaw Studios and former Bassist to Silver Round. He also likes to lecture people on overworking even though he doesn't practice what he preaches either."

Wade gives Mike a dirty look.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson looks back and forth wondering when this interview went off the tracks. A moment after you started to talk.

Liaison, is that like a plumber? It doesn't take to Wisdom of Solomon to make him keep his mouth shut. He wonders off hand where that Nick Drago big shot is? On tour he heard from someone. He looks over the posters on the wall idly.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike points to the paperwork in Billy's hand and then gestures over to Wade's desk. The blond, having recovered his senses starts to sit up. Rolling his chair forward, he sets his hands upon his desk, opting NOT to look directly at the Mike. "Welcome William." Wade greets, "Or would you prefer we use 'Billy' since you started off introducing yourself like that? We have a pretty casual work environment here. As evidenced by the musician camping out in my office instead of GOING HOME TO REST-" Wade's head turns to look over to the sitting Mike.

Mike smirks, "Liasion. This actually pertains to me."

"Not in the summer with the tour going on." Wade interrupts, gesturing to the door behind Billy, "We'll manage. Go. Relax. GET SOME GODDAMN REST."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson sticks his hand out to Wade. He does wonder what a plumber has to do with his application? Pretty sure a liasion does that. Wisdom of Solomon would be handy right now. "Billy is what everyone calls me Mr. Shaw, thanks. When..." he recoils a little when Wade yells at Mike. Wait musician! Ok.

"I'm learning to play the flute." He trails off. Ok he called a performer a custodian, but he did meet the man at good will. He decides not to bring that up.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Paper accepted, Wade skims through the contents, making sure everything requested is filled out, grabbing a pen to make a notation of the preferred nickname. "Flute?" Wade replies, "A rather underrated instrument but very much sought after by those writing orchestral accompianments." A side glance is given over to Mike, who is ACTUALLY getting up from the futon, "Be careful."

Mike steps around, looking to Wade. "Oh you know me." The younger musician replies with a smirk, before looking over to Billy. "Welcome to Shaw Studios, Billy. " He reaches a hand out, clapping a hand to Billy's back before heading out of the office.

Wade watches the ponytailed man make his exit, not at all assured by Mike's comment to him. "...that's what I'm worried about." He mutters, shaking his head to look back to Billy. "Alright, now that it's just the two of us. As Mike said, welcome to the studio. You're one of the first ones to take advantage of the Work-Study program. The intent is to get you some real world work experience all while getting a bit of course credit in the process. So please be sure to give the liaison any feedback about things you feel you were lacking in terms of exposure work-wise. Now, being he won't be available until he finishes up his tour, concerns can be addressed to me for the time being."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson puts a hand to his backpack. "Oh, I'm not very good. I can barely read music let alone write it but a friend who left got me started and I feel close to her when I play it? Anyway when can I start and what will I do for Shaw Studios? I'll wait a little before I start asking questions, till I know the right questions to ask."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Oh I'm not asking you to play flute here." Wade assures, "The work study is more of a behind the scenes approach. Observing sound technicians, things of that nature. But if you are looking for a tutor to help improve that skill, I know a few who do that sort of stuff."

"There will be a bit of errand running as well. Because, well. That's still work."

Wade turns, reaching down to slide out a drawer. "As far as learning music is concerned, there are different ways of acquiring the knowledge. Some of us go as far as getting degrees from college. Others end up learning from extablished musicians directly. Then you have the workaholics who go the self taught route. Or a mix. Either way, if music makes you feel good, keep at it."

A sheet of paper is pulled out of a drawer and handed over to Billy. "You officially start when the school year starts up but, we have a few days where you can stop by to get a more indepth tour of the building so you're not lost on the first day. Dates are on there along with contact information should you come up with questions about this later. You don't have to attend all those dates. Just pick the one that works best."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson scans the paper before folding it carefully and placing it in a side pocket of his bag. "Sure thing Mr. Shaw! I think I can make a couple of those dates actually. I have to check. I may have a line on another part/time job. Anyway thanks for everything. And I will let you know my plans as soon as I do. I doubt this job will conflict. It's on Saturdays for one thing." He gets up to leave extending his hand.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Multiple part time jobs?" Wade asks, "Well, you seem to have the spirit of a musician starting out already. Just, be mindful of how you're doing energywise. You don't want to work yourself to the point of exhaustion."

He nods in the direction of the door, "It's why people like him needs managers. Time management. NOT his best skill."

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson gives a thumbs up. "Don't worry Mr. Shaw. I can get recharged really fast if I need to!"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Wade blinks to the response before smiling. "Alright. We'll see." He pauses, "Did you have any additional questions for me?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson ponders a moment and asks in all earnestness, "What kind of instrument does a liaison play?"
