Welcome Back to that Same Old Place that You Laughed About
Date of Scene: 03 August 2021
Location: Breakstone Lake
Synopsis: Home Again Home Again Jiggety Jog to Kill a Mad Prince and capture the prize
Cast of Characters: James Proudstar, Tabitha Smith

James Proudstar has posed:
James Proudstar is standing on the bank of Breakstone Lake skipping stones across the water, trying to get one all the way across. He's up to five or six, about two thirds across. The light is fading and the eventide is coming on. Others have already retreated back to the Mansion, and the cheery lights of modern campfires. It's a good place to be alone with your thoughts, a good place to be alone with someone else. The evening is cool like it should be finally some respite in this year of extremes. Jim, searches the bank and picks up a flat stone, getting ready to try again.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Stealthy is not really Tabby's MO especially given the senses on the person she's walking up behind with a familiar backpack slung over one shoulder. Still, maybe he's distracted?

Dropping into a crouch briefly she snags up a pebble. It's definitely not the kind of pebble one skips on the water but that doesn't stop her from lobbing it past Jimmy where it plunks in the water and makes ripples.

James Proudstar has posed:
James Proudstar smiles, he's turned away from you facing toward the water, but you can hear it in his voice as he settle into a stance and flings the rock with studied ease, it skips, twice, three, five, seven, then thunks into the opposite bank, "When did you get back?" he doesn't turn around but you know that he's known you were coming probably from the time you entered the forest being your were down wind. "Glad you're back, think you might stay?" He turns around and walks over to you, folding you into a hug.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Was Tabby expecting to get hugged right off? Maybe, maybe not, but she accepts what's given. No need making things complicated after all. "Back? Who's back? Was I gone somewhere?" Okay so she's been gone for months, but definitely no need to get into that right now.

James Proudstar has posed:
James Proudstar chuckles and nods, "What? Who?" Jim is a canny old dog, and the hug is one of affection not just for anyone, but also to get in close and smell her. is she hurt, well fed, healthy, happy, sad, content, you can learn a lot with a nose and ears as refined as his. he holds you for a beat or two and then lets you go. "Well, glad you're back we might be packing up to steal some ancient artifact from a mad King on the other side of the universe, so, you know Junior year all over again."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith actually hugs pretty tight at the big Apache until she finally starts to pull away. She smells like herself mostly and there's something mega spicy hanging out in that back pack at the moment, extreme burrito maybe? Almost enough to cover that Tabby's not at her best at the moment. At least there's no blood smell right? "Oh good. I could use a chance to blow something up."

James Proudstar has posed:
James Proudstar nods, and smiles easily, "Yeah, who couldn't?" Jim nods towards the house, "You wanna grab some dinner or did you bring enough burritos for the rest of us? Hey, you missed the Hydra Mutant trafficking ring. Apparently they'd been stealing mutants from third world countries to make their own personal mutant attack force for years. Crazy right? We had to team up with the Brotherhood to shut them down."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith wrinkles her nose as she pushes her shades up onto her blonde locks. "Well don't that sound like a fun time. Not sure whether to be sorry I missed it or just glad it's over." She draws away from him so she can shrug the backpack off her shoulder. A pair of burritoes come out and are lifted up under nose nose. "Mmmmm. Don't dat smell good, Jimmy boy?"

James Proudstar has posed:
James Proudstar sniffs and pulls back, blinking his eyes, and wriggling his nose. "Whoa, that's got some spice. You can eat more spice than any other white girl I know." Jim chuckles and shakes his head, holding out his hand, "Is that brisket? Cause brisket is a thing of the gods."

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith puts one of the burritos in his hand before moving to crouch by the edge of the lake, "Well of course it's got spice. What good's a burrito without spice?" She unwraps the end of the one she kept. "Who puts brisket in a burrito? You put peppers in a burrito, right?" A big bite obscures anything else she might have mumbled as she starts to eat even from his hearing. Not like she actually knows how burritos are made. You don't have to know what's in them to eat them but it certainly smells like a decent amount of spices and thinly sliced hot peppers.
