Synopsis: Jason Blood and Morrigan meet over art and make a dinner engagement.
Cast of Characters: Jason Blood, Morrigan MacIntyre

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood is perhaps overdressed for the place, wearing pressed black trousers, a long-sleeved button down of pinstriped linen and a black vest, the chain of a watch fob hanging at the front. His hair is almost shaved clean, a shadow of stubble across his skull, and he has gold loops in each earlobe. Rings of silver and amethyst on his fingers, he has taken a table for himself, alternating between visiting various cnavases and displays of art and returning to sip on a steaming cup of espresso, routinely refilled and maintained by a well-compensated server.

Even with his hair shaved down, the streak of white at his brow shows through, like the remnant of a scar. He steeples his fingers together, eyes flashing as he considers a rather opaque attempts at abstractism, cocking his head and finally giving a sigh. "No. Just rubbish. Ah, well."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan had business in Gotham today, but someone had mentioned that while she was there that she should give the Poisoned Pen Collective a look through. She was a lover of art and always looking to add more to her house and her office at Mount Sinai. Because having high priced art at the school might get destroyed. The red head is dressed in a dark grey a-line skirt and a lavender colored blouse that's a bit puffy around the cuffs. She's wearing sensible heels given all the walking for the day. Her hair is tied back loosely at the nape of her neck with a length of black silk and the new white streak is a bit jarring with all the red it goes up against.

Her violet gaze drifts over a few stalls that she stops at. There's a moment taken to discuss something with one of the proprietors of a certain stall before they point in the general area where the coffee can be found. She gives a smile to that, but doesn't go that way immediately. There were more things to see...and she had a specific aesthetic in mind.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason runs a hand back over his head in slight irritation, disappointed. He'd heard the artist had talent and it was there, certainly, in the technique, but the inspiration wasn't there at all. Muddled, unfocused, incoherent. Like so much of this wretched world, growing ever faster, taking every shortcut. A shame.

He catches a glimpse at the redhead and feels something at the back of his neck tingle, telling him that she is more than what she seems. Precisely what, he can investigate if he chooses, but at the very least, she isn't an overpriced painting and far easier on the eyes than any of the nearby installations.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's friendly, that much is easy to see. She stops to speak to a few of the artists and comments on the art before moving along. Her eyes were searching for something very different than what she was seeing. There is a certain moment that she looks down the way, catching a glimpse of where Jason is. She doesn't recognize him at first, but her thoughts drift back to a very large fight in May of 2020 and she remembers that face. And his other one.

Jason might be able to see the momentary debate on her face.

But in the end, she decides to head his way. When she gets to a conversational distance there is a smile to him, "I see that this place holds all kinds of surprises." she comments.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood is not as good at paying attention to others as Morrigan is, so he may not remember her specifically. Ego will do that to a man, especially when things get as messy as they so often do in such conflagrations. Nonetheless, he will not forget her again.

"Whatever our previous acquaintance, it's entirely clear to me that we were not formally introduced," he says. He offers his hand, "Jason Blood. I have no profession, I come from a time when labor was properly left to the lower classes," he says with a hint of a smile. He's joking. Somewhat, at any rate. "I'm surprised that there's physical art still produced in the world and not merely layers of pixels spattered onto some computer screen by an ill-conceived conglomeration of ones and zeroes,' he sighs. "Most of it is barely above the level of excremental, but there is some potential here. Somewhere," he mutters, taking a sip of his coffee.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan just doesn't tend to forgot those that turn into demons. She does give a chuckle to him and reaches out to take the hand that is offered, "It is nice to meet you properly, Mister Blood. I'm Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre. I briefly got to meet the one that starts with an 'E' during a battle last year." she tells him. That 'E' being Etrigan obviously.

She then looks back to the art nearby, "You'd be surprised. A lot of people that I know still do canvas art. I was gifted some beautiful water colors recently. But...the artist doesn't remember making them." she shrugs. "I was looking for something a bit more spooky I guess." she muses. "And what is it that you are looking for?" she asks him curiously.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood scrunches his nose a bit, "Ah, yes. Him. He does tend to make something of an impression, both on others and on my memory. He is the headache of which I am never entirely rid.

"Spooky. I suppose that's one way to put it. Visceral. Grotesque. An expression of the ruinous brutality of existence," he says with a slight shrug, "But with a bit of panache," he grins.

"No luck, as of yet, unless you count our unexpected acquaintance.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"He does seem like a pain." Morrigan admits to that. He did help out a lot in the destroy enemies category. "Then again I don't know the story there and I'm not sure that's a thing anyone wants to go into detail about in public." she adds to that. "And yes, spooky seems to be the modern term at least for some things." she chuckles to that.

There's a smile that brightens her features for a moment, "Honestly I've met a lot of people through encounters that I'd like to run into again and never do. Being able to find them a second time is a rarity." she tells him. "Were there any other booths you'd like to explore?" she asks him. "If so I could walk and talk. I don't mind." she offers.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood sighs, "No, the tale of myself and the Demon is not one for easy, public consumption. Even my own stomach curdles at the memory of it at times. Suffice to say, he and I are not joined by either of our choice and our alliance is based far more on convenience than any shared ethos."

He offers his arm, "I have no specific other installations in mind, but would be more than happy to serve as your chaperone through the rest of the place. I admire the intentions of creating a place of art and creativity, even if I have some aesthetic misgivings in regards to the result."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a gentle shake of her head, "I'd not ask you to speak on things that are upsetting or uncomfortable in a first meeting. Or on a fiftieth meeting at that." she states. She knew a little about having two sides. Though hers was not demonic.

When his arm is offered she tucks her hand through his and gives him a smile, "I'd love to have a chaperone...one that doesn't like to hide in shadows." she states with a little look behind them. Then she looks to him, "It might not be good for our personal tastes, but if I find something that I can hang up at the school...or send to Constantine to see if his house eats it I'd say it's been a good trip." she grins.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood chuckles, "Everyone has their secrets and some are best left kept. I've lived long enough to know the difference, generally speaking. The rite of confession was always meant to be a private one. I've plenty of sins, but no need to expose them out of some masochistic display of contrition."

At the mention of Constantine, he makes a bit of a disdainful face, "Ah, yes, Constantine. He's always got his fingers in most every pie, greedy child that he is," he says.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"That I agree on." Morrigan states with a gentle dip of her head to that. She then studies some of the paintings that they pass. Getting distracted by a few here and there.

"He does seem to get into everything. Had to make a trip to London last night to deal with some weird ghost or spirit that was imitating the Ripper murders. Not the most fun reason for visiting London really." she frowns. "I don't know the man that well though. I just tend to help people blindly." she admits. "It's a bad habit that will probably get me killed one day." she adds.

"Is it rude to ask you what you've been up to lately?" she gives a look to him, curiousity in her violet gaze.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood shakes his head, "Why does the Ripper inspire such mayhem and imitation? He was hardly an artist. Just a butcher, likely riddles with syphilis and ill-educated to boot. Squalid and small-minded," he says with disgust. "I'm no moralist, but again, it's a matter of elegance."

"I'm admittedly not quite so much of a Good Samaritan. I'm an old fashioned Philistine, I suppose,' he laughs. "Mmmmmmmmmm, my recent activities have been more reclusive. Not anything to brag about, I'm afraid," he says. There were some blind spots recently, in which another influence had briefly stolen his time, but he'd gotten free of that. He hoped.

"I don't have any particular projects in the fire, although I'm always looking for something to stave off the tedium."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan listens as he speaks and there is a soft shrug, "A lot of people that know of the Ripper and the story probably think that he was some sort of artist. Those that did their research know he was just another serial killer." she states. "Not that I'm going to be changing my career this late in life." she muses. She'd be a horrible serial killer.

"I think I need to work on being less open to helping with every problem that pops up. But that's going to take some doing." she chuckles. "Quiet spots in life are nice, though I can imagine boredom is not something you let set in." she smiles to him.

"Should anything adventerous, but not good samaritanish pop up I'll see if I can give you a call and offer to have you out." she teases softly.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood cocks his head, "The thing about running to help others is that there's no end to it. Not to say you should be indifferent, but there are plenty things with which I would be far less than an ideal help. As for my alter ego, odds are very likely that he'll make almost any situation short of the cataclysmic even worse than it already is. I'm something of a bastard myself, but compared to him, I'm a positive saint."

"Whether you have such a th ing pop up or not, I do encourage you to reach out and give me a call. We could always get together now and again and, well, if adventure doesn't call, I'm sure we could find some way to keep ourselves busy."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan listens to him and honestly, he's right. There's a bit of a sad look to her features for a moment before she shakes her off, "Honestly if the people that reached out for help reached out to also just see me or get to know me I wouldn't mind helping. But there's a lot of take and little give. It's how I got this." she points to the white in her hair. "But it was needed." she sighs.

"Ah well...it's done now." she muses softly.

"I am sure that you're a positive saint next to your other half. And while he didn't attempt to eat anyone during the fight, I don't know how I'd stand up to him toe to toe, even if I'm a master of the arts. So I won't poke at him." she nods.

Then there's a bit of a curious look to him, "I'm sure we can come up with something, Mister Blood." she tells him with a smile. "Speaking of keeping busy. I am not familiar with Gotham. Do you have any places that you would suggest for someone wanting to get a nice dinner before they have to head back to their home tomorrow?" she asks.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood nods, "There are those who are always willing to take. Constantine is one of those, I must warn you. He punishes himself for his own misdeeds and so ennobled, is willing to go to any lengths to do what he sees as 'the greater good'. Regardless of the cost to himself or those around him. That he hasn't died yet is largely a testament to his persistence and to the devil's sense of humor. Hell isn't the only place a man can suffer," he says.

He waves a hand dismissively, "Enough talk of such things. I know of several superb restaurants here in Gotham. Generally, you'd have a hard time getting in without a few weeks notice, but it just so happens that I've put the fear of God into a few of the local maitre'd's and they're inclined to give me some leeway. Do you have a national cuisine of preference? I tend to favor Italian myself. For a man of my vintage, Rome will always mean glory."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan listens to that and she nods to his information, "Constantine is indeed suffering. I've seen the insides and the aura. Not much I can do for him, but...maybe someone else can." she states. Though she doesn't go into further detail when he waves things off.

"Putting the fear of God into people seems like a skill that others would like to learn." she grins at that. "I enjoy a lot of cuisine. Thai and other things of that nature." she admits. "Though I am a huge fan of Italian as well. I just have to avoid garlic as it does not like me." she states a bit sheepishly.

She looks to him though at his comment, "Something tells me that you've had a long and storied life, Mister Blood. Maybe someday I can learn a little of it." she smiles to that.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood gives a soft laugh, as if that made something click in his head. He hadn't invaded her aura too deeply. Not that he had a care if she would find it intrusive, he simply learned that it was generally preferable to let people reveal such secrets to you themselves. It made getting along easier and avoided preconceived notions.

"Ah, I understand. Thai is very amenable to me, as well. I like something spicy and sweet," he says. "And yes, I have been through much, experienced more than my fair share. High and low. Ecstasy and agony. Sometimes both at the same time - the razor edge between being far more transparent than most like to believe. I am wiser for it, if not better. I am not sure anyone ever really gets better. Merely more purely themselves."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan seemed a bit worried for a moment, but then there was the soft laugh from him. Which bleeds a bit of the nervousness out of her at that moment. "I'm only half vampire. Though I do figure that since I got a lot of the downsides and none of the benefits that it's more like twenty five percent." she chuckles as she speaks softly. Not really wanting others to hear. "I don't bite either. Unless someone really makes me angry." she whispers.

Then she clears her throat, "So yes, just no garlic, minimal sunlight, blood every once in awhile. I feel like a shade plant all of a sudden." she jokes.

"Would you mind going to dinner with me? I figure having company is far better than going alone." she admits with a soft smile.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood raises an eyebrow, "Mind? I've been trying to gently woo you into it for most of our conversation. I would be delighted to have dinner with you. As for your limitations, frankly, I'm not particularly fond of sunlight myself. As for biting, a little bit of biting between friends is hardly something to be avoided," he says.

He reaches into his pocket and draws out a cellphone, carefully selecting a listing, "Let's see, ah, yes, the Velvet Serpent. They have a little bit of a taste of the macabre in their decor as well. Perfect."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's cheeks go a little pink when he says that, "You'll have to forgive me for not being more astute, Mister Blood." she chuckles. In her defense, most of her time was spent with teens. His comment about biting between friends does do something curious though, her eyes darknen just a touch, flicking to his throat for the briefest of moments and then back to his face, "I've never bitten a friend." she muses to that.

Then she lets him go about looking through his phone. "Oooo, macabre. I already like it." she grins to him.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood keeps eye contact with her for a moment, apparently not fearful of any potential entrancement from the half-vampire. "We might have to see about rectifying that, should our friendship grow in the way that I hope that it might," he says.

He puts his phone away for the moment and takes her hand, turning towards her and bending to kiss her knuckles, "I must say, you have done a bloody good job of salvaging a day I had thought sorely wasted. You have my thanks."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan wouldn't dare try anything magical on someone. Much less a man that's been alive for a very long time and bound at the soul with a demon. That slight blush that was vanishing does make an appearance when he speaks on rectifying her biting someone. "We can always see where things go." she offers as she keeps her gaze on his.

She allows him to take her hand, not feeling like she's in any danger when it comes to the present company. The kiss to her knuckles does make her smile a little brighter, "I am happy to have salvaged the day. There is no need to thank me for it." she tells him. "Though I will thank you for allowing a veritable stranger to spend some time with you. I rarely get to spend time with anyone other than students, fellow faculty or those I help. So it is a very nice change of pace." she smiles warmly to that.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood shakes his head, "That is surely a shame. Teenagers seem like they would be wearing on even the patience of a saint. I tried my hand at teaching, once upon a time, but found my temperament...ill-suited," he says. Had Etrigan breathed hellfire at an insolent boy at a small New England private academy many years past? He had.

"If you can tell me where to send it, I can have a car pick you up and bring you to the restaurant at the appropriate time," he smiles. "No need to be too formal, although it never hurts to overdress. Sometimes it can be fun being fancy."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a genuine laugh at that, "Oh, if you ever meet my students you will definitely understand that they could make a Saint lose their patience. Though I would kill anyone that tried to hurt them." she states. His admittance of his short stint in teaching makes her give a knowing look, "I can imagine that some have thin patience and it doesn't help depending on situations." she nods.

She gives the name of one of the glitzy hotels of Gotham as where she's staying for the evening. "Given the last few months I am more than happy to have an excuse to drag something nice and silky out of the closet." she grins.

Jason Blood has posed:
Jason Blood nods, "I'm sure they're just as protective of you, in their own way. I imagine you have to fend off your share of inappropriate crushes, not that I blame them," he says.

"And yes, silk is very nice. I approve wholeheartedly. I'll have to make sure to give you an evening worth the while, then," he says.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft smile to that, "Maybe they are. But I wouldn't want them to get hurt in my defense really." she states. "And if any of them have had crushes I have never discovered it." she chuckles.

Then there is a grin, "Well, how can a woman refuse something like that?" she muses. "I'll make sure to be ready at the appointed time. Until then, Mister Blood?" she asks him.
