Happy Harbor: May The Force Be With You
Date of Scene: 11 September 2021
Location: Theater - Happy Harbor High School
Synopsis: Happy Harbor students get introduced to the wonders of Star Wars! And lightsabers are gifted as well.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Rex Sloan, Mark Grayson, Eve Wilkins, Billy Batson, Vivian Vision, Madison Evans, Dyani Zitkala

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Apparently there are A LOT of teens at Happy Harbor that haven't seen the Star Wars saga. So this day that is generally marked with somberness is instead replaced with a movie day at the High School. Duncan, Morrigan's assistance, is over seeing this event so that the teens wouldn't feel smothered by adults. Dinner, Lunch and Dinner breaks are scheduled for catered in food and there are tons of snacks that have been set up in the back of the auditorium to keep the students and those that are with them refreshed during the movies. There is also a surprise for each student at the end of these movie escapades. Everyone has gotten through Episode's 1 to 3, now the original series is about to start.

But first, an intermission for folks to get up, stretch and see who else is here to chat with.

Rex Sloan has posed:
Of course Rex hasn't seen Star Wars. He's eighteen and not a nerd.

The boy grunts to himself as he glances up from his seat. He loops an arm over the back of his chair and glances about. Tight jeans, skater shoes, a Raiders hoody and a t-shirt for some modern band makes up his outfit. His hair is pulled back into a ponytail, showing off his undercut. Seeing other kids milling about, he climbs to his feet and stretches. "Freakin' hell. This is a lot of movie."

Mark Grayson has posed:
MOVIE NIGHT!

Mark LOVES Star Wars and he was here for it. He was one of the few who has sat through the entire thing from start to...well, now.

"Yeah! Bring on Vader!" He calls in a laugh.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve Wilkins walks in with one of her friends. Becca has blond hair and a pierced nose and eyebrow. Like Eve she is fairly laid back. As they walk in together, Eve is saying, "Yeah I'm not really sure. I thought Rey was going to be related to someone from the earlier movies but then they dropped that whole family thing. It's like they didn't think the story out in advance or something."

Becca nods as the two girls walk over to the refreshments, Eve grabbing juice and Becca grabbing water. "I just want to see the droids and Chewie. They should get their own movie," she says as they move over to look for seats. She spots Rex and Mark and some seats between them and moves over that way.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson is a late arrival. The detectives among you might note Shazam was helping the fire department a few minutes ago and put two and two together. Maybe not. A lot of people show up later and Shazam is a lot more in every way than Billy. But for his part he sits back, quiet and tries to process the movie. There's a lot to it, a lot of background and these explosions keep getting in the way. Why is the asthmatic guy in the armor such a jerk?

Vivian Vision has posed:
Strictly speaking Vivian Vision has seen Star Wars before. The way her mind processes information 'seeing' the films is just a simple matter of downloading them into her memory. But then you could also say that misses a bit part of the experience. Of being around people watching it in Human speed timing and hearing the audience react.

In the name of school spirit she's offered to act as the projection system for this particular showing. Her holographic systems more than capable of breaking the scenes in a film and using them to extrapolate how everything should appear to a Human eye. Then it's just a matter of real time audio processing to give full immersive surround sound and you've got an experience as close to being transported into the film as you can get.

Well without a supervillain trapping you inside one.

Madison Evans has posed:
"I mean, it's the next three that really matter anyways!" Madeline is saying as she makes her way into theater at a dash. She's dressed in full on Jedi robes - yes, she finally finishes sewing them - with a fake lightsaber hanging at her hip.
Not a real one. Not //yet//. Yes, she's still sticking with that.         "I hope we're not to late for- whoa." She skids to a halt as she's just in time for the ending of Episode III, with Vader howling out his disappear. She turns a full circle, her eyes wide, before remarking. "That's.... //trippy//!"

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
These were the movies Madison and Irie were talking about, Star Wars. In the past Dyani would never have been able to see them, only hear them, but thanks to her new visor she can actually /see/ the movie and so she buzzes into the room at top speed after Madison.

"What... we missed some?! Maddi, we told you we've never seen any of... what is going on?!" She hovers in the air staring at the screen and what is projecting it. That is tripper than she expected, and she didn't do any drugs.

She's wearing her usual clothing because making adjustments for wings was difficult and she still hadn't learned how to do it herself. Landing beside Madison, she whispers, "Can you see that?" and points at Vivian Vision.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Duncan makes sure that the snack tables are refreshed for the teens. Growing teens means they are probably going through a lot and there's the smell of fresh popcorn that wafts in when people exit to go get air and to stretch outside. "Anyone need anything else before we head into Episodes 4 through 6?" the man asks as he watches those that are coming and going.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve Wilkins moves along the row of seats, past Rex. She meets eyes with Billy Batson as she does, the redhead giving him a quick smile before taking her seat. "So I don't know how bad the first three could be, but I was told I had to see them in correct order. If they are good we can always watch the first three later," she tells Becca.

"Oh wow," Eve says as she sees the 3D nature of the scenes that Vivian is creating. She swivels in her seat to look back at Vivian and flash her a big smile for what she's doing.

The redhead turns back, green eyes focusing back on the screen. "Shoot, I should have got popcorn," she says.

Madison Evans has posed:
"Oh. That's Viv," Madison answers Dyani in a bright voice. "She's like a droid only waaaaaaaaay more advanced. I think. Basically. I'm sure it's a lot more complicated than that," and that Viv is about to come over and explain in detail what was wrong with that explination, "but there you have it." She turns full circle again before asking Dyani, "Where should we sit? We should get popcorn! Do you think they have Jr Mints?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson taps Eve on the shoulder. "I was just getting up. I'll be glad to get a bucket for you and your friends." He returns her smile and gets up to do just that.

Okay four tubs of popcorn, he can handle this. He brought a falling Statue of Liberty to a safe landing, held up the Brooklyn Bridge and dealt with a drunken and enchanted Bea da Costa! He makes his way carefully back. Hmmmmm popcorn.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani is all for popcorn and Jr Mints, so she's nodding repeatedly to Madison, all through the explanation that is Vivian, and then into the food. Turning toward the table with the food, she then notices just how many people are in the room. Inching close to Madison, she uses the 'Jedi' as a shield.

"Popcorn would be good," she offers, still looking around. "Jr Mints are those little chocolate covered mint things, right? Our human mother loves those, so we eat them too. Now we hope they have them."

Vivian Vision has posed:
In a shocking break with tradition Viv doesn't come over to correct anyone. It's rude to talk during a movie after all! Also projecting works best when she remains in a fixed position. No-one wants to suddenly find they're sitting inside a passing Storm Trooper!

She does however return any smiles or waves with little nods of acknowledgement. Just because she can't move it doesn't mean she can't be polite.

Vivian is probably one of the more unusual students. For a start she's wearing her uniform even though it's not mandatory. Oh and she's clearly not Human. Reddish pink skin, glowing yellow eyes and green hair.

Madison Evans has posed:
"I'll see what they've got. You pick the seats - and sent Irie another text, huh? She's probably like... saving the world or something. Geeze. Why does the world have to try to end in the middle of the movie marathon?" Madison complains - giving the bee-like girl beside her a friendly nudge, before she turns to make her way back to the refreshments table. Two big tubs of popcorn and a box of Junior Mints was an easy enough order, right? But - ooo! She should get some sodas! "Can I get a Mountain View and - DYANI?" Yeah. Shouting in a theater is perfectly polite, right? ...she should text her.
Looking sheepish, she pulls out her phone to text the other girl, 'What soda?'

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
There are only a few things human looking about Dyani. A small human looking body, maybe five feet in height total and thin as a rail and the fact that she has hair, though it is mint green. On her back is a set of large honey bee wings that when she isn't flying, fold down and look like an iridescent cape. Sticking through her short hair at the top most part of her head are two antennae that often move on their own. Today she is wearing a Geordi La Forge looking visor that hooks over both ears, but also has an elastic strap to hold them in place. She wears a overly long t-shirt that has had the back doctored badly to allow for her wings, and a pair of blue jeans with cowboy boots on her feet. The only other thing that most people will likely immediately notice... there are bees walking on this girl, mostly around her shoulders and on her head, sometimes on her face.

Nodding to Madison, Dyani starts looking for some where to sit that isn't too too close to other people, and yet not so far away as to be rude... it's a delicate balance when you're new and paranoid.

Just as she was finding a chair, Madison screamed and she jumped out of her skin, well really she jumped into the air and her wings started fluttering madly. Seeing that nothing is attacking, her phone buzzes and she pulls it out as she lands and types back, 'Any soda works, no diet... need the sugar.'

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve Wilkins gives Billy another smile as he offers to get the popcorn. "You're the best. Lots of butter and some salt if it's ok?" she asks him. She and her friend take a seat, leaving room for Billy when he returns too.

Eve looks over towards Rex. "So did you watch the first three? What do you think so far?" she asks him.

She takes a sip of her juice as the credits begin to roll. "Oh that's some great music," she says, keeping her voice down to not disturb others as the opening message scrolls.

Rex Sloan has posed:
Rex seems to snap out of whatever thoughts he was lost in, and he shrugs at Eve. "Eh. Not really my thing." He tucks an escaped locke of brown hair behind his ear before he slides back into his seat to settle in.

Billy Batson has posed:
Billy Batson nearly drops the popcorn before he gets to his seat and passes the others over the intervening row to Eve and her friends. that was thanks to Madison's yell. He gives her a wave, and a glare, finally making her out through the holos. He hands one popcorn to Rex and then takes his own seat. "Vulcan Jedis would be awesome," he finally mutters.

Madison Evans has posed:
Madison at least has the decency to look sheepish at the glare, but turns her attention back to fetching the snacks. The box of Junior Mints she plops on top of the popcorn, and she ends up getting a root beer in addition to her Mountain Dew, before she makes her way back. "Do you like root beer?" she stage whispers as she awkwardly tries to get into her seat - with two tubs of popturn hugged to her chest, and a soda in each hand. It's a good thing she wasn't fetching snacks for Irie, too, or she never could have-
Damnit. She could have TK'd the snacks, huh? She'll try that next time.

Vivian Vision has posed:
One of the advantages of being the projector and the sound system all in one is that when you need to send a message you can. A short way from Dyani a hand size holo-Viv appears. She makes a polite little coughing sound to introduce herself then notes "If at any point the images or sounds are overwhelming please let me know and I'll try to make things more comfortable for you."

It never hurts to take precautions to ensure you don't alarm your fellow students!

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
The scream is likely heard by everyone. Dyani was not expecting someone to just be there, so she screams rather loudly then looks for all the world completely embarrassed for it. After all, it was just Vivian being nice, and not Hydra trying to steal her again.

"Sorry," she offers sheepishly, chewing at her bottom lip and sitting back down. "Uh... no, it is fine. Our visor helps with the visual aspect and the sound is... that is really cool how are you here and there?"

As Madison arrives however, she stands to help her with the goodies, so she can more easily sit down. "Root beer is best," she offers in a real whisper because she's pretty sure she's already going to get glared at for having the sheet scared out of her.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Duncan looks up sharply when there is a scream, "Everything okay?" he calls to the direction where it came from. If anyone ended up hurt on his watch Morrigan would have his hide. Or his heart. He wasn't sure how angry she might be.

Madison Evans has posed:
"Dyani's fine!" Madison calls brightly, peering at the little Viv beside the bee-girl, before settling into her spot.
"I imagine she does it the same way as she's projecting the movie," she remarks. "Which is to say - I have noooooo idea. But she can also project like... clothes, or Halloween costumes on us, or change our hair, or whatever. It's //wild//."

Vivian Vision has posed:
Mini-Viv gives Madison a wave as she returns, then shrugs to Dyani. "I'm not really here," she explains. "But I am capable of projecting images or sounds in an area around me. And it's easy for me to split off a portion of my mind to handle a conversation while the rest of me deals with creating the images for the movie." Mini-Viv smiles. "I would explain how I project things but generally people find it very boring."

A second Mini-Viv appears next to Duncan to update him on the situation. She's not exactly monitoring everyone per say. But she is aware of just about everything going on inside the theater.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Already a small person, Dyani is trying to sink down in her chair to not be seen but her wings won't really let her. They get in the way of everything. "We're okay," she replies way too quietly to be heard anyway, reaching out to snag a bee that was trying to figure out why it couldn't land on Vivian, and putting it back in her hair. "Really, just... spooked."

Taking a sip of the root beer, she then takes the lid off the cup, but leaves the straw in it. No sooner had she done this than numerous bees fly into the cup to get a drink while she holds it still. This is common, day to day for her apparently. "So... she's techy," is all she says softly about Vivian, because obviously that explains everything.

Slowly she looks back to Vivian and whispers, "That... is sooooo cool."

Madison Evans has posed:
"She's like - a super computer robot person. But like - definitely a person, you know? Just... well. A person who's a super computer robot. Basically. There's a lot of weird things and people at school," Madison explains with a shrug. "And she's one of Irie's friends. They like fight crime together, I think. Save the day and stuff." She relaxes back into her seat, happy to munch at both popcorn and soda - but she does pause long enough to open up the box of Junior Mints, and tip them towads Dyani.
"//My// 'human mother' isn't a big fan of candy," she confides.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve Wilkins gets the popcorn from Billy. "Thank you Billy, you're the best," she tells him with a smile. She settles in, munching on the popcorn while watching the movie. "These were really advanced special effects back then, I hear," she whispers to those around her.

The scream from Dyani caused Eve to jerk upright and look around. As she hears everything is ok, the member of the Teen Team relaxes again. No interdimensional invaders suddenly appearing in the school theater or something like that. Thank goodness.

"She's so pretty," she whispers as Carrie Fisher is on the scene. "And her voice, hard to believe how she sounded now. I guess she smoked a lot."

Vivian Vision has posed:
"That's very nice of you to say," Mini-Viv says, giving Dyani a grin which turns into a nod towards Madison. "That is a fairly accurate assessment. Although we haven't needed to fight much crime together recently." She frowns. "Which is not to say there hasn't been a lot of crime."

The second Mini-Viv vanishes from near Duncan and re-appears near to Eve. "Do not tell anyone, but I have made a few improvements to the special effects as part of the conversion into a fully three dimensional experience."

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Accepting some of the Jr Mints, Dyani grins rather broadly and pops one in her mouth. It's likely the only one she will get before she has to have a 'talk' with the bees who instantly become interested. Her antennae move rapidly as the bees buzz around her hand, then they get the picture loud and clear and return to the root beer.

"We have to have sugar," she states plainly. "Our human mother learned that after we changed, so she bought candy. We will share with you Maddi, your human mother does not need to know."

She looks back to Vivian now, tilting her head a little, then reaches up to pull her visor up enough to look at the image without the device. Behind the visor are large black compound eyes that she uses to look over the image that is Vivian for a moment, then puts the visor back in place.

"Way cool, that is our final verdict," she nods, fully decided now. "We want to learn to fight crime some day so we can go kick butts of bad people who would steal kids from their parents."

Madison Evans has posed:
Madison can't help but let out a quiet giggle at Dyani's words. "Thanks, Dyani," she murmurs back. "Mom's a bit of a health-nut. If she had it her way - everything I ate would be whole grain, and organic, with like... superfoods and shit." She helps herself to a few more Junior Mints, followed by some popcorn, before turning her attention back to the movie. Watching it in three dimenions and surround sound it just... "This is trippy," she murmurs.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve Wilkins isn't as startled as the little Vivian appears next to her. Though it does seem to intrigue her. "Oh, that's great of you," she replies about the special effects. "I bet most of the sci fi fans would kill to see it like this," Eve says of the holographic presentation.

She winces as Alderaan is blown up. "oh, wow," she says. "Well, I guess we can solidly put the Empire in the 'bad guy' category," she says, grabbing a handful of popcorn, then consuming them one or two at a time as she watches.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Mini-Viv 1 does a little curtsy. "Evil Russian spies kept trying to kidnap my Great Aunt," she informs solemly. "So I can understand the desire to fight evil groups like that. But it's always a good idea to have team mates you can trust before you try fight crime."

Mini-Viv 2 smiles back to Eve. "Perhaps but there are only two synthezoids on the planet and we both fight crime. So even if they did kill people for the priviledge it would be very easy to catch them afterwards."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Duncan moves around as the last of the third original movies comes on, turning the lights on briefly as he wheels out a cart that is covered, "Alright all. This is a present from Doctor MacIntyre who sends her apologies for not being here today. She had a lot to take care of." he announces. When the cover is pulled off the cart it reveals SFX Lightsabers in all the colors that have been made, "Come up and choose one. If your color isn't here or we run out we'll get you one that you want." he tells them with a smile.

Que the stampede to the lightsabers!

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani flies straight up and toward the lightsabers as she calls out, "What colors Maddi?!" She wants a green one, imagine that, but she's fast and over the table, which will make grabbing so much easier.

Madison Evans has posed:
"Purple!" Maddie calls out. "And - ooo! Yellow for Irie if they've got it! If not, red!" Sure, it's a Sith's color. But Irie's 'colors' are yellow and red. Right? FLASH colors! She bounces up to her feet, watching Dyani zip over the crowd of students towards the lightsaber.
She giggles at the thought of all them being //real// lightsabers. Viv would have a //fit//.

Mark Grayson has posed:
"Breaks your heart, man. Tarkin is a great villain." Mark says as he returns with popcorn between Eve and Rex, offering Eve some if she liked.

LIGHTSABERS?!

"I need one." He smirks at Eve, offers her the popcorn, and rushes off! He puts too much super strength in the forward step though so he jumps higher than he probably should be able to and he faceplants it.

Eve Wilkins has posed:
Eve Wilkins rises from her seat, but taking a handful of Mark's popcorn as she does. "Thanks Mark," she tells him with a smile. She laughs at the senior's exuberance for the light sabers. She looks to Rex and says, "Going to grab one. Becca, want one?" she asks. Becca's on her phone. Without looking up she says, "Sure. Blue if they have one."

The redhead walks over, but slowly so that everyone else has a chance to get there and get their pick before she does. Eventually when the line works through, she gets a blue one for Becca. "I'd like a pink one," she says to the person at the table.

"No pink," is the reply. "But there's red." Eve looks around, picking one up. "What do you mean no pink. It's pink," she says, turning it on and sure enough, it has a pink lit saber. Now. Eve turns and walks back swinging it around. "Oh cool, it makes the sound when you swing it," she says.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani will flip the sabers on to find a purple one, and a green one, and if there is a yellow one she will grab it as well, if not a red one. This covers those needed, and never once did she land. Sometimes it pays to be small and air borne, other times a strong wind will blow you over the football field when you're trying to fly with your bees. Indoor flying is best in fall.

Zipping back over to Madison she offers her the purple and red one, since she'll likely see Irie before Dyani does.

"These are the ones from the movie, right? The glowy swords?" She asks, then notes the pink one. She may not have been watching the movie all that closely, but she did not see a pink glowy sword in the movie.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Out of all the student Viv seems to be the only one uninterest in Light Sabers. Perhaps it's because she could just ask one of the super genious scientists in her family to just build her an energy sword if she wanted on.

A holo-Viv does appear to politely decline the offer though.

Madison Evans has posed:
"Man - these are the best!" Madison says brightly. "I mean - I'd say we should start a dueling club - but these lightsabers aren't the best for dueling. You break the blades," she explains cheerfully, as she activates her purple lightsaber, and experiments with it. "Hey, but I bet if we asked Viv she could make us holographic opponents to duel with later? That would be so cool! Like - she could program in various levels of difficulty, and we could see who lasts the longests dueling against the AI and have a lightsaber contest that way!"

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani finally lands, lighting up her green glowy sword and swishing it a few times carefully, listening to the sound it makes. It was cool, she had to admit that.

Looking back to Madison, she tilts her head, "You want to turn Viv into a video game?" She asks, then grins. "That would be so cool! We have not played any video games before."

Madison Evans has posed:
"I mean. Whether she'd want to do it or not might be another thing, but from what I understand about Viv - she could toooooootally do it," Madison insists with a broad grin.
"We'll ask her later. Maybe we could do it at the D&D club." Does it have anything to do with D&D? Nope. Does she care? Not at all.
D&D geeks would love stuf like this, after all!
Eventually, though, she'll settle back into her seat to enjoy the rest of the movie - raising and waving her new lightsaber when it seems appropriate.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani settles back into seat as well, holding the new glowy sword and wondering that D&D was. She's ask later, right now she needed to learn more about Jedi to better understand Madison, if that was even possible... probably not.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
The movies continue, sugar comas are going to be induced and the caffeine has been set up in IV drips for some to power through the rest of the movies. Not really drips, that's against a whole lot of laws, but the young assistant makes sure that the teens are happy and taken care of.

Duncan and Vivian are the MVP's of the evening for helping to run things. Duncan even manages to hold up a full size cut out of Darth Vader when the scandalous 'Shirtless Kylo Ren' scene comes on. Because NO ONE WANTS TO SEE THAT!

Or some people do, we don't judge. Ahem.

The rest of the evening if fairly uneventful until the end of Episode 9. It leaves some feeling all sorts of emotions that range from disgust, disappointment and then happiness.

What the teens on their own feel is up to them!
