Cast of Characters: Lydia Dietrich, Rahne Sinclair

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia heard that there was something wrong going on with Clarice and Rahne, that they were both in tears and that Rahne was asking to be teleported down to Scotland to be with her mother. She quickly dropped what she was doing and rushed through the corridors to see if she could get to the girl before she could leave. "Rahne!" She shouts as she runs towards the wolf mutant. "Wait! Rahne! What's wrong?"

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
It's never busy here. Rahne retreated until there was nowhere left to go, her powerful form letting her run so fast. So far. Not far enough. The Asteroid has limits, and they aren't enough right now, for a young lady desperate.

Word is passed on, that the girl is in a corner. The sounds of crying are heartrending. And easy to track, with like fifteen workers all pointing Lydia in the right direction.

"Lydia," Rahne says, coming off of a wall where she was leaning. She stumbles toward the girl, her head still wrapped. She looks like SHIT.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia reaches out with a hand, and her glowing green ectoplasmic aura extend outwards as soon as she sees Rahne and gently cradles her, giving her the much needed support that she needs. "Rahne," she gasps, out of breath, having ran at top speed to find her. She steps towards her and gathers her in her arms, offering her support this way.

"Oh Rahne," Lydia says, her heart breaking to see her so distressed. "What's wrong? Are you okay? You should be in bed resting up."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
The little redhead drops her form as Lydia reaches her, becoming the human that stumbles, falls. She finds herself small again, and the fact that it feels so right leaves her breathless. She gasps for air, held within arms of a friend. She can't answer instantly. It takes a bit..of time.

"I...did..." She buries her face into Lydia's arm, clenching her teeth like she's fighting for her life. It can't last. She's weak.

"I...hurt...her. Oh lord, Lydia, get me home. I need my mum, please. Please." She looks up, her eyes red, and she's breaking. "Lydia please."

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia cradles Rahne in her arms, making gentle shushing noises, and rubbing her back. "It's okay," she says reassuringly, "It's okay. We'll get you to your mom but you can hardly walk." She guides the girl to the wall, "Come. Sit with me and rest a bit and talk to me. What happened?"

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Rahne is so easy to move, she's barely resisting at all. She seems unable to explain, though she tries so hard. "I. She. No," she coughs into her sleeve, the mess showing that she's already cried into it enough to leave dampness. She tries to breathe, but it stutters like she's unable to get air. She needs time, time that she doesn't have. There's panic in her, as she shakes her head fiercely, then groans as it aggravates the injuries, causing her to lean more heavily.

That causes her to start...shaking...in Clarice's arms. No. Not Clarice. Lydia's arms. She shakes harder, desperately needing to stop but getting worse.

This is exactly what you do NOT do to someone with a brain injury!

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia moves as if to sink down to the floor with Rahne in her arms, but then the poor girl starts shaking. "Oh, no," she breathes and tries the swallow the rising panic within her.

"Rahne," she says gently. "I'm going to move us into your hospital room. You're... I don't want you to have a seizure." A green glow surrounds her arms as she boosts her own strength through her ectoplasm, and picks up the poor mutant like a wee babe and cradles her to her chest. Then she lifts them both up into the air, so as not to jostle them and floats gently towards the medbay.

"Can you tell me what's got you so distressed? I hate seeing you like this. Should I go get Clarice?"

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
That is likely what Lydia wants to happen, but Rahne's fingers grab at her. She fights, her eyes lifting up. "No," she manages to whisper. At least this is better, she's making some form of sense. "Not...Clary." She's shaking, yes, but she's managing to keep her eyes stable. It's like she's cold almost.

Breathe. Brea...breathe. She's fighting, she's trying. "Ritz. Call her. I'll..." She lets out her breath, then shakes her head. "No. Home, please. I hurt Clarice." Finally, finally it's out. And she clings to Lydia like God.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia slows down, concern causing her brows to furrow. "Okay," she eventually relents, "but on three conditions. One, you tell me what happened, two I come along with you." Her voice is kind, but unrelenting in these demands. "And three, if you get any worse I'm bringing you back up to the asteroid."

"So," she says more gentle now, as they slowly make their way to the landing bay where Ritz is stationed. "tell me what happened? I'm sure it can't be as all bad as that."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Rahne fails one of those conditions, as her mother will allow no such thing. Rahne's health becomes her obsession, and the medical facilities of Muir Island are...astounding. But as she waits, she manages one of them.

Telling Lydia about the fight, short as it was, is easy. It comes out mechanically, between breaths, as she waits and rests. As Ritz comes, she tells how she found out about Clarice, how she -enjoys- killing. But it doesn't end there.

When she sees that she's about to be transported, she finds that she has to tell Lydia more. She grasps at her, she needs her to know. "Lydia. My...life. It be about NOT KILLING. Have put all my soul into tha'. Es why I did nae fight back, when they attacked me. I...can't..." She seems to be desperate. She seems broken.

"Clarice." She looks away then, looking at the access tunnel. Expecting her to come.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
Lydia has no idea what to expect on Muir Island otherwise she probably wouldn't have made the third condition. As she listens to Rahne, telling her the story of what happened, her eyes moisten with her own tears. "Oh... Oh Rahne," she says "I.... I'm not a killer either," she says. "I don't think I have it in me to kill anybody, but Clarice.... Mystique..." she shakes her head. "I've somehow made peace with what they've done, but Clarice...."

She lets out a long sigh, "For Clarice it's about... regaining control of her life. She's had horrible things done to her when she was young, and it's the only thing she knows how to do." She gives Rahne a squeeze, "I'm trying to find things that will give her that same sense of release that doesn't involve getting anybody killed."

She watches as Ritz comes up to them. The teleporter raises an eyebrow seeing Rahne cuddled in close to Lydia and asks, "Where to?" Lydia lets Rahne answer this as she hails Mystique on the communicator. "Raven, love," she murmurs. "I'm taking Rahne to see her mother. I'm going with her."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
There's a moment when Rahne seems to understand. With Ritz there, and Lydia there, she swallows visibly and bites her lip. The shaking has stopped, though her skin is cold. She looks one more time at the access tunnel, then nods and leans her head down to rest on Lydia.

"Do it," she says. Clarice didn't come, and her heart is a little emptier for it. But she has to think. Turning your world over in a day...that's a story for..comic books. Not reality, like this is.

She squeezes Lydia's hand, offering Ritz the other one to hold. "I should have told her..." she says, as the portal sends them.

Elsewhere.

"...tha' I loved her." She did. She did! She told her, and it was true.

Tell. Her. Again.

But the teleport makes her puke, and perhaps there will be =slightly- better timing. You know. How sexy vomit is, and all that.

Lydia Dietrich has posed:
"I'll make sure she gets the message," Lydia says gently as the step through the portal onto Muir Island. The cool Scottish air sends a chill down her and OH GOD Rahne is puking on her! Her body armor reflexively snaps into place taking the brunt of it, and sluices it off when the younger mutant gets it out of her system.

"Sorry about that," she grimaces, setting Rahne down on her feet, but still keeping an arm around her to keep her standing. She pulls out her phone, "What number should I call to let her know we're here?"

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
"She knows already."

Rahne was not the one to say this. The woman, tall and statuesque, is already there. She stepped through a portal of her own, created by science. With Rahne incapacitated and barely able to move, she steps in. Takes over. She's so, amazingly, prepared? Noble? It's difficult to say, but the long haired woman slips Rahne from Lydia's arms with assurance.

"Come, miss Dietrich." Then she helps them to the castle.

And it's a good thing, because that 'if she gets worse?' condition? Rahne has a relapse, brought on by the teleportation. She is unconscious, and Lady Moira's hospital is where she rests. For a bit. Until it's time.

Oh. Sorry about the puke.
