Naomi McDuffie has posed:
Walking into the center of the central plaza with a backpack slung over her shoulder, Naomi stares around fo ra long moment, trying to figure out just how she got here. She knows, kinda how she got here but now she has powers and now she's at a school that caters to people who have powers and now she can't use her powers while here. It's all crazy. She just hefts her bag over her shoulder as people walk around and she pulls up a paper that lists all her classes.

She looks down at it, staring at the first class she is supposed to go to before pulling up a map and staring at it for a moment, trying to figure out where the first class is on the map before she just sighs and shakes her head and starts walking in a direction she thinks is the right one.

Christine Lake has posed:
Christine has been preoccupied for the past few days, but she's in better spritis today. She's still getting looks of pity and some whispering gossip around her after being left in the lurch at Prom on Saturday, but she's ignoring such things and focusing on being freindly and positive. It also helps that there's fewer students around becasue it's spring break, but there's still light classes to keep the remaining students occupied. And judging by the look on Naomi's face, Christine figures that the other girl might be a bit lost. She walks up to the dark-skinned girl, smiling and waving with a positive energy that can only be found in a cheerleeder. "Hi!" she greets naomi as she approaches. "Are you new here? My name's Christine, and I'd be happy to help you find your way around."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A blink as she looks up and then she smiles, "Yeah, I just got in to teh school and I'm just, well..." She gestures around, "I'm not completely sure which way I'm going. I have to be in this class here and..." She smiles and looks over, "Oh, right, I'm Naomi, by the way." She nods, "That being said, if you can help, that'd be great." She nods her head, "I have plenty of time but don't wanna spend all day walking around looking for a class."

Christine Lake has posed:
"Sure," Christine replies and takes a glance at Naomi's schedule and map. "And don't worry about timing too much; we're on a light schedule for a couple weeks. But, your first class is over this way..." Christine gestures and starts escorting naomi down the halls. "So, where are you from? I'm from San Francisco. Been here for about a month now, and it's an interesting place. Pretty much like any high school, really. Same sports, same cliques, and 'avoid the cafeteria at all cost'..." Christine laughs and shrugs. "Nah, the cafeteria is okay. Probably better than most. But, just relax and before you know it, you're not the 'new girl' here any more."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A smile as she walks with her and she nods, "Oregon." She states simply enough, "Not all that exciting. Small town you probably haven't heard of there. I won't be here too long. Just kinda had to move in the middle of my senior year." She nods her head, "And now, here I am." She nods her head and then shrugs before she starts looking around, trying to get her bearings, "Sounds like it won't be too different then." She shakes her head.

Christine Lake has posed:
"Well, there's differences..." Christine says. "And *differences*." She lets thta sink in for a bit, still smilling. "But yeah, overall, it's easy to adjust to this place. And if you're a senior, that means you're on short time. Got any plans for what comes after you graduate? Me, this is my junior year, so I've still got another year left here. And I don't think that's going to be a bad thing at all."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A hmm and then she shrugs, "My life sorta kinda got flipped upside down rather quickly and...here I am." She nods her head, "So, I'm just rolling with the punches for the moment as I don't have all the plans in the world anymore." She nods again, "Might take a semester and then go to college." She nods, "I really don't know." She laughs, "Just gonna have to roll, I guess."

Christine Lake has posed:
"LIfe flipped over all of a sudden," Christine says with a nod. "Yeah, I *really* know what that's like." She takes a deep breath. "Like, something happens that you never saw coming or even thought about. And, as you're figuring things out...you're now on the other side of the country, going to a new school." she gives Naomi a knowing smile and nod. "Having to make new friends and not knowing if you can tell them about all the adjustments in yuour recently crazy life. I *really* do get that."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A laugh and she nods her head, "Well, not sure if you are going through things that I'm going through but yeah, something like that." She continues to walk and shrugs, "It's kinda crazy though. I was impressed by how quickly the school was able to get all my stuff over to here. Not exactly sad that I have to stay for a short time though, I got thigns to do and see and...I don't know, school feels like it'd cramp my style."

Christine Lake has posed:
"New York is pretty cool," Christine admits. "Thoguh it's still nothing compared to The Bay. It's just differnt, and that can be good sometimes, you know? Changing things up and experiencing different points of view." She walks alongside Naomi for a bit more, before they arrive at the classroom door. "Well, here's your first class. I'll be see ing you around, Naomi. And...maybe we can hang out and talk about crazy changes in our lives sometime. I have a feeling that we're both going through the same thing, just...can't quite come out and talk about it yet." She gives Naomi a smile and a wave, then heads off towards her own classroom.
