Cast of Characters: Tabitha Smith, Henry McCoy

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha's desire to finally graduate rather than repeating her senior year yet again is about one of the least important things going on at the X-Mansion these days but with the new school year coming up really soon, She's definitely running out of time to get it done. She's talked to all the requisite people to get permission. Rumor has it she's even been seen studying (though that can't possibly be true even if Ellie did take a picture). Finally the exams are ready and Tabby shows up to the room she was told to go to in order to sit all of her senior class finals at once. Wooo! That's not insane at all.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry was on-board to proctor the tests, the man was seated at the desk at the head of the classroom. He's got his reading glasses perched on his head as he skims over a book. As Tabby shows up in the room, the book is set down. "Afternoon, Tabby. Ready for your testing?" He asks, tapping on the desk. "Excited?"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith walks over to the desk in front of the big desk. Pencils, check. Proctor, check. Knowledge? Maybe??? She blows out a long breath then looks at Hank. "Excited? No. Not the word I'd use, nope. About to puke all over your desk? Maybe." Nothing like the prospect of screwing up your second chance at freedom to make the stomach riot and the brain go blank after all. She tries to summon to mind one of the flashcards Jimmy's been flashing at her and fails before dropping into the appropriate seat, "But I guess we gotta get this over with."

Henry McCoy has posed:
There's a sympathetic nod from Henry, the man offering a smile. "I am sure you'll do well, Tabby. Just breathe and try your best to relax. Let your mind do the work you put into it, yeah?" He suggests. "Pick a seat, I've got the test book here." He taps one of the testing spirals on his desk. "Need to use the bathroom first? Get a drink?"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith taps her pencil on her thigh for a moment and her eyes briefly cross as she stares at the test, "Nope. Better just get this over with before I lose my nerve and my lunch." She reaches out to accept the test book. "I mean it can't even get graded on a curve since I'm the only student, right?"

Henry McCoy has posed:
A nod and the book is handed over. "I believe in you." The man grins, moving to take his seat. "As soon as you open the test, your time starts." He explains. "If you need anything, let me know?"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith takes the book and carefully centers it on the desk and stares at it like it's a venomous snake finally though she does open the test.

Surprising herself with the fact that she actually knows the answer to the first question, she immediately starts to write. Watching Tabby take a test is just a touch comical. She actually cares about passing it for a change but it's still bloody boring. A variety of expressions flit over her face as she works. Surprise or pleasure when she thinks she knows something. A grimace when she's sure she doesn't. Confused bemusement a lot of the time which is often mixed with something that looks like pain. Is someone stabbing her in the ribs or something?

Partway through the time allotted for her test, Tabby puts down her pencil, gets up, walks around the desk and vigorously scrubs her hands through her hair before sitting down again and picking up the pencil to keep working. Her face scrunches up in concentration and her free hand begins to twist in her hair as her rate of answering questions slows to a crawl.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The Beast keeps an eye on her - not expecting her to cheat in the least, but he's got a job to do. "Remember to breathe, Tabby." He suggests as she gets up to take a lap around her desk. When she's deep in concentration, he's silently urging her on.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith mutters under her breath some little chant she used to remember something except from the pained expression, she cannot remember what the chant meant. A few answers later she puts down the pencil again and asks, "Is this getting graded as soon as I'm done so I know right away?" Both her hands lift in front of her and shake back and forth from the wrists which is repeated with her head before the pencil gets picked up again and she resumes working. Okay she's chewing on the end of her pencil more than writing at this point but then she's almost out of time too.

Henry McCoy has posed:
A nod to Tabitha, the man smiling. "It can be, yes." Henry offers over. He's likely the one doing the grading. A nod as she loosens her wrists and neck - he's been there before, truth be told.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith works down to the very last moment even though she's scraping the bottom of her barrel of knowledge at that point. She's still got her pencil poised over the test book when the time comes to call a halt to the testing

Henry McCoy has posed:
Friendly or not, Henry does call time when it is up. "Pencil down, Tabby." He offers over, with a nod. "Time's up." A tap to the desk. "How do you feel about it?" He wonders, waiting for her to bring the test up to him at the desk. "Any better after going through it?"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith grimaces and puts the pencil down. She gives the book one last glare before taking it to Henry, "I feel like I did after my English Literature exam that time. That cannot be a good thing since Summers flunked me." She hands it over then steps back and begins pacing around the desks as she finally lets a little ball of plasma form in her hand which is immediately tossed up toward the ceiling. It's only a bb sized one so it's unlikely to have any strength.

Henry McCoy has posed:
The man chuckles, taking the test booklet. "Well, did you study for that exam? I heard you were studying quite a bit for this one." He asks of her. He makes sure his reading glasses are in place, not concerned over the plasma ball as she tosses it.

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith grimaces at the mention of studying, "Of course I studied. I didn't even destroy Xi's library in the process. I still don't feel good about it."

Henry McCoy has posed:
The man is an old pro at this, after all. He likely wrote the test. He taps away with his pen, marking errors - but not as many as she might have thought. Once he runs through the test, he goes through once more. "Well, I think I've got your grade if you're ready to hear it?"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith is facing the back of the room when he speaks. She twists first the upper part of her body to look at them. Finally she turns the rest of the way and walks back toward the desk. "Okay. Give me the bad news. I can take it." She squeezes her eyes shut in preparation.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Henry takes a breath, a dramatic pause. "You passed. You earned a C." He grins, watching her reaction. "You've been working hard for this, Tabby." He says, nodding. "Congratulations!"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith continues to grimace right up until he says congratulations and then her eyes blink open. People do not say congratulations about bad news. Then she finally hears the grade. A C. She got a C! The grimace fades into relief and then suddenly Tabby leaps forward and flings her arms at Beast's neck intending to squeeze it in a hug as she declares, "Holy HECK! You're not kidding? I really passed?" This is followed by a very loud WOOHOO!

Henry McCoy has posed:
The man laughs, catching her in the hug. "Yes, a C. No kidding on this, I don't joke about scholastics." He grins, setting her down. "You passed, graduate." He winks to her. "So what are your plans now?"

Tabitha Smith has posed:
Tabitha Smith grins, "I am going to make a certain Apache take me to celebrate before I even think about what to do next. And I won't even blow up your lab to release stress." This joke is tossed off as she turns to head for the door. It was a joke right? She was never thinking of that at all. Really!

Henry McCoy has posed:
A grin of relief, his lab is safe. "See you around, Tabby. Say hello to James for me, all right?" The man offers a wave as she starts out of the room. "And congratulations again!"
