Simon Trent has posed:
It was a beautiful late midday in the city of Gotham. The sun was shining through the smog the people were milling about through the streets, and there was no question in peoples minds that it was another perfectly Gotham day.

Of course it may have been a bit miserably to breathe with the air pollution quality index fairly higher than normal, and the traffic was even still to this moment backed up for several miles around the block due to the jumper from an office building down the road, though by now police had since arrived on scene to remove the poor sod and examine him for signs of foul play. However life went on in the city of gotham as it always had.

Here in Rococo however it seems that things have been set up for a celebrity book signing with none other than TV's own super star Simon Trent. With a stack of books to one side of the mahogany table and his autograph pen at the ready he was primed and roaring to go at the opportunity to sign copies of his autobiography The Man Behind The Mask.

Any minute the hordes of fans would come pouring through those front doors filing in a line around the block just to get his autograph and hear words of wisdom from his lengthy hollywood career, and maybe gain a peak behind the curtain at the reunion season of Beware The Gray Ghost. It was only a matter of time.

As it stood a few elderly gentlemen milled about grabbing their copies autographed for reselling online at a later date, a small trickle of visitors having gotten his hopes up only for reality to set back in that things just weren't going to be quite that active today.

"Definitely the traffic." He offered the empty air in front of his book signing stand as the last of the scalpers walked off with their small stack of books ready to hit the internet. "Soon as the traffic clears they'll be swarming this place, just you wait Simon."

Selina Kyle has posed:

What do you get for the man who has everything?

It's a bit of a puzzle, and one that Selina's usually merrily willing to ignore since she's not generally in the business of giving things away for free. But when you manage to get Bruce Wayne to nerd out over something, it tends to stick in your mind.

So it is that Selina Kyle feels inspired to go on a bit of an outing, walking through Gotham, seemingly unthreatened by its atmosphere and reputation, having abandoned a taxi once it got caught in this traffic.

She enters the book store after peering up at the sign for a moment. If Simon were to recognize her at all, it would likely be from either gossip-rag fluff, or her public work with endangered animal charities. Otherwise, all he'd know is that a remarkably attractive woman has just walked in like she owns the place, wearing a lovely little very-nearly-black dark purple dress, shoes and a pair of sunglasses, with a purse on her arm. She peers about the shop for a moment, her gaze lingering on a selection of wine, before her eyes settle on Simon. A smile comes to her lips.

"There you are." She says simply as she approaches the table, lifting her sunglasses and leaving them perched on her brow.

Simon Trent has posed:
Simon is lost in thought with himself for a time trying to figure out how exactly he's going to cover rent off of this signing event. <I should be able to cut costs by taking the bus back to Park Row, but I'm not sure how I'm going to carry all of these copies.>

Then she walked in, Selina Kyle, he'd heard of her only through her charity work, in that sense the two walked in similar circles surprisingly enough from time to time. It was one of the reasons that he never actually had any money to spend on himself now that he took a moment to think about it here watching her promptly peruse the wine selection on display.

Gone were worries of being mugged on the bus ride back to Park Row and here to stay was the opportunity to make a good impression.

He was dressed like a more buff balding Mr. Rogers with chiseled features that covered his person, and looked genuinely surprised to see her showing interest in his little display.

"Here I am." He returned with a friendly smile. "Simon Trent at your service my dear." He rose up to a stand to offer a hand her direction for a brief handshake. "I must admit that I didn't think you the type to show up to one of my book signings"

Selina Kyle has posed:
"Selina Kyle." she replies confidantly, reaching out a delicate-looking hand to shake his with... surprising strength. She tilts her head with a look of pleasant surprise when he recognizes her, and grins, "Oh? My reputation preceeds me~"

"Well," she admits, her voice somewhat breezy and wistful in its utter lack of self-consciousness, "Normally it's not my scene." She glances to the side, "-not since the Kindle was invented, anywayy-" she resumes her previous sentence, "But... I have a lot of nostalgia for this stuff." Selina smirks a little, "More importantly, I have a good friend who's bad at keeping up with current events, and he's going to lose his *mind* when he sees you have a book out."

Selina considers for a moment, and adds, "Ideally." She smiles, "I'll take two."

Simon Trent has posed:
He's got a firm grip of his own but keeps it fairly light for the sake of things. Pulling back his hand he offers. "That's quite the firm grip you have there Miss Kyle I'd be lying if I said I was unimpressed." He pauses for a moment to go to the stack of books and pull off two copies of The Man Behind the mask.

A genuine smile crosses over his face at the mention of how excited this friend will be about getting his hands on the book, and Simon goes right to work making sure the books are positioned neatly for signing. "Well to be honest the book wasn't initially my idea, it was my agents, but once I got to the halfway point I was too far gone." He chuckles to himself.

"So how should I make these out for you Miss Kyle?"

Selina Kyle has posed:
Complimented for her grip, Selina merely smiles and shrugs "Gotham born and raised." As if that were explanation enough.

Selina seems somewhat charmed by Simon's brightened mood. She crosses her arms and tilts her head as she considers, "Mmmmm. For me? To Selina Kyle, with love." She uses the time it takes Simon to autograph her copy to ponder, "The other..." Selina smiles, "To Bruce Wayne, for keeping the spirit alive~"

Simon Trent has posed:
Simon works with the penmanship of an artist gliding across the page with slow and steady hand. His calligraphy is impeccable, an attention to detail that makes his words more than simple cursive but works of art on the page. He signs with care and attention to every little detail of the lettering, signing little shapes into the letters as he swirls off the last of the word love a picture painted with each stroke of the soft tipped pen as he works.

He pulls back from the book to admire his own handiwork for a moment as he did with each and every book before and takes pause before closing it shut with a brief pamphlet on the new Reunion season of Beware The Gray Ghost being filmed in Gotham. He reaches for the other book starting to write before he just pauses mid stride. The name Bruce Wayne sinks into his mind for a few moments and his smile sets in on his face as he recognizes that it means that The Bruce Wayne is a fan of his work.

"Well now isn't it just a small world after all." He lets out a low chuckle to himself before buckling down and returning to his work with his penmanship dancing out across the page each stroke and each letter till it forms a word and soon a sentence. "Today just seems to be full of surprises."

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina chuckles softly at Simon's reaction, intuiting his meaning easily enough as she wistfully and sincerely replies, "I'm pretty sure it's the only thing I've ever seen that man geek-out over."

She leans forward slightly, peering over Simon's work, and smiles, "That's perfect."

Simon Trent has posed:
"Well if he's interested you should let him know what we're going to be doing a reunion season of Beware The Gray Ghost" Simon offers as he sets down his pen, capping it tightly. "I was going to give this away with the 100th book signed but I think I can make a slight exception this time around since it looks like we're not going to sell quite that many copies." He chuckles at his own misfortune reaching beneath the table.

From beneath the table he pulls out a small pair of tickets. "Two tickets for the preview screening of the pilot episode." He pauses for a moment. "Now I'd better not see these on ebay" Looking a little bit leery for a moment before breaking out into a chuckle.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina isn't surprised to hear that sales aren't going well, but she affects sympathy all the same. "What a waste. I should spread the word a little. See if I can't send some business your way." It probably won't work miracles, but it's a nice thought.

Her brow rises with interest as he mentions the reunion, but her attention is taken by the tickets, which draws a genuine smile from Selina. "... Oh my gosh, thank you." She says softly, with genuine deight, taking them with a wistful smile.

Simon's last comment... draws a bit of an arched eyebrow for a minute though. "... I'm not really hurting for cash, don't worry." She says dryly, with a hint of 'I'm going to overlook that' in her voice.

Shetill, she lets it roll off of her, and smiles as she gathers the books under one arm. "Thank you so much, Mr. Trent." She says, before giving a little wink and adding, as she begins to turn away, "Big fan growing up."

As Selina saunters away, she pauses and turns a bit, gracefully keeping her stride going towards the exit as she playfully says "Always wanted to be Madame Minx when I grew up~" while mirroring a pose with her arm from the seductive thief in question from Simon's show.
