Not So Quiet After All
Date of Scene: 22 August 2021
Location: Wade Shaw's Condo
Synopsis: After Gentleman Ghost's unplanned visit, Shazam patches up a window and Jon swings by to check up on Mike. And tonight, they dine.
Cast of Characters: Michael Hannigan, Billy Batson, Jon Kent

Michael Hannigan has posed:
What was supposed to be a couple day long break for resting up and relaxing has proven to be anything but. The plan was simple enough. Fly in, grab some groceries, toss some food into the slow cooker and boom. Dinner ready around the time Wade remembers it is Sunday and he should be at the condo too.

That was the plan. What ACTUALLY happened after grabbing the groceries was Billy coming by with paperwork and his own groceries. Chasing Billy into the hallway at the sight of a flying horse and rider coming at the window, AND an impromptu visit by the Gentleman Ghost via broken window. THEN followed by an impromptu visit by a guy in red with lightning hands.

Well, that about sums up where they are. Mike looks to the place where the window should be, and then up and over to the man in red. "Well. Thanks."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam hands back the hammer and couple of nails.

"Not a problem Mr. Hannigan. Sorry about the window. I tried to stop the Ghost." He did seem to have basic home survival skills. Probably a whiz with duct tape. He taps the plywood and seems satisfied.

"Oh, I guess I need to use the front door now. Amazing how fast you get used to going in and out of windows. Maybe I'll meet She... " He trails off to examine the window again. He hops, over the repaired salt circle. "Night, sir. "

Jon Kent has posed:
Jon had heard the ruckus going on, after having changed into his suit, he took off for New York.

He knew there had been danger at Mike's place. So off he flew like a bolt of lighting toward the condo where Mike Shaw hung his hat.

It hadn't been long until he saw the plywood on the window, and knocked on the boards. "Mike? Hellooooo!?!" This could seem nice and easy had he been standing on a fire escape but of course, Jon was floating in the air, trying to get a view of the inside. "Hellloooo!"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike takes the hammer and nails back, blinking at them before looking over to see the condo's repair kit sitting on the counter. "...that was very fast." Walking over to a bare bones basic repair kit, He pauses, adrenaline settling down enough for a nagging thought to come to mind.

"Crap." He realizes the thought has a name. Billy. The hammer and nails don't make it into the bag and instead gets set on the counter while the musician starts to head towards the condo door.

Hearing the knock on the plywood along with the muffled voice, the task he had set out on gets put on hold again as he instead goes over towards the boarded up window. He shifts over, moving the curtain from the pane that's still intact, peeking out to the visitor. Recognizing him, he knocks on the remaining glass, smiling. He reaches down to crank the smaller panel open. It's not enough to grant access by window but it is enough to talk. "Hey Superboy. You might need to take the hallway if you want to get in here."

Well. Technically he could probably go through the boards but, that's likely unecessary, "I need to track down someone who went out there anyways."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam follows Mike out of the unit and then zips around him and out the entrance. "Illseeyouaroundbye!" Red blur. He may complain but he does look like one of the Flashes. He flies into an alleyway and changes to Billy with a flash (see?) of lightning. He pulls his phone out and quickly texts, "Mike -too much excitement for me. I'm going home enjoy your pot roast." He waits a moment, "I saw Shazam and asked were you all right. Glad he helped. Nite -Billy." He sets the phone aside a moment and changes back to Shazam. He really could use an aspirin. Shazam grabs the phone and walks out and back to find Mike. He did say Superboy? Which one? Doesn't matter. He wants to meet them both.

And She-Hulk.

Jon Kent has posed:
Jon set himself down and walked in, headed toward the condo via the hallway.

He was decked out in his suit, red blue and yellow in all the right places. Looking a little out of place walking in a hallway. "Mike?" It comes to the teenager that he hasn't actually entered the condo from the front door before..."Hello?"

The young man walks up the hallway, looking from door to door.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
When Jon flies down, Mike exits out of the condo, entering into the hallway to start looking for Billy. Hearing the phone give a message notification, Mike reaches into his pocket to check the it. A head tilts to the message but upon reaching the part about pot roast, the pieces fall into place. The name at the end helps too.

He slides the phone back into his pocket, glancing around. Crap. Did he ever give Superboy his apartment number? How on earth is he go-

Oh. Duh.

"Superboy?"

Time to play sonar.

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam flies back onto Mike's street. Yep there they are. Mr. Hannigan and Superboy. Oh, the one he wanted too!

"Mr. Hannigan, did you find that lost boy? He looks down at the young Kryptonian. "Hi! I'm Shazam! Superboy, right?" He touches down and extends a hand. "I almost got to meet Superman the other day in Metropolis? Bunch of giant metal robots were let loose."

Surprise. Shazam does need to breathe, if only to talk. He finally stops to take a breath.

This is great, a superhero about his age...

Actually, Billy's age. Dumb ass.

Aaaaaaaagh!

Jon Kent has posed:
"Oh hey!" Jon calls out, jogging back to the now open door and Mike. He smiles at the arrival of Shazam, though the man need no introduction. Superboy Shakes the offered hand. "Yeah, that's me! Hello Shazam! Nice to meet you!" But then again, it causes Jon to look to Mike. "How many supers do you know anyway?"

"Are you okay?" He asks Mike, wanting to be sure before allowing a more social capacity.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Jon accounted for and another super soon approaching. Mike steps back to the condo door, holding it open for the other two. Might as well chat inside the condo. He gives a slight grimace to Jon's question. "Probably more than I'm aware of." The musician admits, thinking to Damian. "I'm fine. It was just Gentleman Ghost this time. No demons or binding spells..."

To the inquiry of the now identified Shazam, Mike looks over towards the tallest of the three. "Well, he's no longer lost," Mike answers, "He texted. Looks like Billy had to go home." He glancees between the two heroes, giving a bit of a regretful look, "Too bad. I think he would have gotten a kick out of seeing you guys here."

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam says, "Well yeah, Superboy after all. I'm just a noob. I mean we're fighting these robots and the others all have these ear buds. I have no idea what anyone else is saying. They should comp us new guys our first set or something." He turns to Mike. "It's very hard to talk when you're flying around and be heard. I mean I can't yell much louder than anyone else."

Jon Kent has posed:
"They have earbuds?" Jon comments, looking confused. "I don't have any earbuds." Yeah, nope. "When they hand them out just yell out for me, I'll be right there to get mine too!"

Superboy follows Mike inside, assessing the damage. "Well, if everything is good now, I guess...I can at least hang out a little."

  "Billy? Who's that? Another super?"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
The comment from Shazam causes for Mike to give a bit of a knowing smile. "...I can imagine that. Also with being new, you're also at a slight disadvantage for predicting what others are going to do in the situation which is all the more reason for not skimping on the earbuds."

Once the other two are inside, Mike closes the door behind them, looking to the damage. "Good thing is none of that glass had a chance to get in the kitchen area which means I can get some stuff handled before doing cleanup. He glances down to the salt circle, checking for any new breeches. "Mind the salt. I doubt he's coming back anytime soon but-"

He moves over to the table, swiping up the remaining bags save for the one Billy brought in earlier.

"If Billy is one, I don't know about it." Mike replies, "He's part of a program Shaw Studios has with a school." He sets the bags down on the counter, "Nice kid. Very helpful. Tries very hard." He looks over to the other two, "I think you guys would like him."

He glances over to the sink where the potatoes were abandoned. "Either of you guys got dinner plans?"

Billy Batson has posed:
Shazam shrugs. Dinner with the family was a couple days ago. Since then he had noodles or fast food. "That sounds awesome. thank you sir. So Superboy, are you a Titan. I think I want to ask to join. My goofy sister... who is changing her name a lot, is one. Or do you go solo?" He can't bring himself to call her Mary Marvel yet. She doesn't even know Captain Marvel. Does she? And she said 'Red Thunder' was a dumb name.

Jon Kent has posed:
Superboy gives a blush as he is asked about being a Titan. "Oh, I kinda hang around there. But d-Superman keeps me busy around Metropolis. That and my charity program. But you should give them a shout! I'll probably see you around there sometime!"

As for Mike's question, Jon's eyebrows raise a bit. "No, I have no plans. Why what's up?" His interest obviously piqued, but then again, the last time he was in New York and on the ground, he got asked for pictures galore. Not that he minded.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Having gotten at least one acceptance to the offer, Mike pulls out his phone, quickly shooting off a text message to Wade. Giving a contented hum, he moves over to a lower cabinet to open the door and crouch down, fishing out a pressure cooker. "I'm making pot roast for dinner and there's always leftovers." He glances to the clock, "Should be ready in a couple hours, if you guys are still in town and feeling hungry then."
