Bette Kane has posed:
Bette came to Stately Wayne Manor one evening after confirming with Alfred he would get Bruce to speak with her about a matter of family concern she had. She arrived in a blue silk blouse and a powder gray skirt, with sheer black hose and black pumps. Then she let the respected and distinguished caretaker lead her up, asking for just some relaxing tea.

Bruce Wayne has posed:
Alfred, in his old world manner, quickly leads Bette to the study before just as quickly detaching himself from the scene and disappearing. The tea would arrive not long after, served on a tea tray older than the United States and worth enough to buy a home almost anywhere in it.

Bruce himself stands at the window, looking down over the grounds. He doesn't bother to adopt any sort of public persona with Bette, in on the secret as she is. His features are stern and unemotional, his arm that isn't bundled up in a sling is held behind his back thoughtfully.

"Bette."

Bette Kane has posed:
"Hello, Cousin." Bette smiles a slightly concerned way as she looks over Bruce, she pulls out a thumb drive, fidgeting in her hand with little spins as she studies to see what sort of mood she finds him in, the unreadable sort. She approaches the window to glance out. The Kane high rise has a stunning view of Gotham, but she would admit she preferred to more rural beauty of Wayne Manor.

"I need to talk to you about something, Bruce. Something with nothing to do with nocturnal flying things for a change. I have here the compiled covers of a year of the front pages of the Gotham Gazette.. Or to be in specific context, the society front pages. In the last year, I am on about fifteen, Kate about four, you, twelve. Tim even has five.. But, Damian has none, Bruce. I know it is so far below what you deal with every night.. But he needs to be a part of the social scene, he needs to represent you and Wayne Enterprises. He will need those connections one day."

Bruce Wayne has posed:
"Damian isn't - he doesn't want to be on magazines, Bette," Bruce answers flatly, still looking out the window but letting his eyes shift to regard her reflection in the mirror, "He was raised by assassins. Deadly fanatics. He needs to learn to be a boy his age before the press start demanding things of him."

A glance is given across the distant sprawl of Gotham City, to where Metropolis lies on the other side of the bay. It isn't visible for the thick clouds and gloom, but it's almost as though he can see it anyway.

"The Titans help. What exactly did you have planned?"

Bette Kane has posed:
"I am the face of the future of Kane International. I am a literal poster girl of the Army. I have been doing this a long while. He'll get more attention if he hides. I know of his history a little." That patient conviction that seems to hold her together clear in her voice, as well as that shared righteous stubbornness. "But, he need to be the Wayne heir, he needs to be Bruce Wayne's son.. That is a part of his childhood, a part of your family name that he should have a part of." She slips far enough to retrieve the tea cup that materialized. "I don't always, or usually like doing it. Sometimes. But I feel guilty because it should be Kate's place. Damian though, I think he needs it. He needs to know how to deal with investors and politicians. People of Gotham need some of us to be role models or symbols of positive power. He is also, part Kane. Maybe he will meet a young girl, or form a friend that doesn't need to hurl stabbing things. Or smash through windows and break limbs. I want to teach him, take him to some functions, and with Alfred's help, give him that part of his life too. I wouldn't call it normal, but it his birthright as much as Batmobiles and street fights."

Bruce Wayne has posed:
"You're talking like you're writing my obituary," Bruce answers, finally turning to regard Bette impassively, "I don't plan to be dead for a long time. He is my heir, but he has time to learn."

He exhales slowly, pausing for a moment to think about his words. Finally, he nods his head, still uncomfortably still and expressionless in that way anyone who knows him as Batman would come to expect from him.

"You're right. It is something he should learn. Responsibility to the face as well as the mask. But I'm establishing ground rules. One, no questions about his mother from the media or anyone else. He can talk to you about her if he wishes, but he can't tell the press anything about her. Two, teach him to be ... responsible. Not sleeping in board rooms, playing golf in the afternoons. He needs to see what Gotham is like for the average person, not just its criminals and cops."

Bette Kane has posed:
Bette Kane says, "I am not that Kane, Bruce.. He can be mysterious about his mother. Claim she died and he doesn't want to talk about it that's true, a few times as I understand it, he can just limit to one. He is still young avoid interviews altogether other than a comment at a red carpet about who did his tux and who is his favorite actress. But he can be seen, learn the talk. I am a soldier, I have a place of the ground level, even if I live in one of the most pricey condos in the city. I attend charities. And, I pour bowls in soup kitchens, too." Bette says and just reaches, but stops from actually touching his arm. "I will take care of those things. Be there to be flasher and interrupt too if things get pushed. Thank you, I hope he will appreciate it, and I want to help out. He is my cousin, and I worry about him.""

Bruce Wayne has posed:
"You shouldn't worry about him so much. We have things handled. He's learning. But I learned a long time ago not to try and gather all my berries from the same bush. He should learn from you, and I'll allow it."

Loosening up slightly, Bruce looks towards the tea tray that's finally arrived and gestures towards it with his good arm.

"Tea?"

Bette Kane has posed:
Bette Kane had taken a cup and she does give it a few sips. "I have a match in the morning. My couch is going to kill me for going out during the Open if she finds me gone. You can still teach him to be like you, but heavy drinking playboy does seem a little ahead of the learning curve to start at." She gives a little grin, takes a heavy sip, and places the cup back on the tray. "Hope the arm is healing well. Thank you for trusting me on this. And wish me luck. I am really pushing myself. I doubt it will be first place, but starting in Aussie Open, I plan to really make that push for a Grand Slam next year."
