A Star Spangled Pizza break or A Mouse in the Pizza House

Location:	Giorgio's Pizzeria - St. Martin's Island
Synopsis:	Courtney meets a tiny mouse and that mouse leads her to adventure, or the Titans building. Whichever.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Giogrgio's is one of those pizza places frequented fairly often by the Titans and now, it is one of the few places where Kaida can go, pay money and actually get served without the usual freakouts. The people there were hesitant at first but after finding out that this particular mouse was indeed a member of the Titans, they were much more amicable to having her over for food. Further? They even set her up with her own spot so that most customers weren't immediately put off. Both for their comfort and hers.

"Double pepperoni and bacon!" She states and then points, "Oh and a coke, in the usual bowl with twisty straw!" She nods and grins even as the woman taking the order chuckles and shakes her head. She mutters something about not knowing where the little mouse puts it all and Kaida happily sits in her little chair in the corner, up on a counter and casually looks this way and that at the few people coming and going.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
    The Star Spangled Kid is panting and tired...and hungry. She leans against an alley wall as she stares down at the unconcious jewel thieves, and she wags her sore fist a bit. She turns and makes her way out onto the street, drawing a few glances in her get-up. She flashes a cop a grin and thumbs back towards the alleyway. They'd been chasing the man all afternoon. "All yours, buddy."

    The teen then turns and strides down the street, wishing she could fly like some of the other heroes. But at least it's plenty of excercise, which she needs with her college freshman diet! Speaking of which...she spots the pizzeria and slows. Her tummy grumbles and she bites her lip, switching her weight from one shoe to the other as she considers. Finally, she shrugs to herself and makes her way on in.
    The costumed girl certainly draws a few glances as she approaches the counter. "Hi! You do buffalo wings here?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
The girl behind the counter gives Courtney a winning smile and blinks, "Yeah, you one of the Titans or something? Awful lot of young heroes around here." The woman chuckles and then shrugs before pulling out a menu and offering it to Courtney. She then points to the options for the various flavors. Meanwhile, out of the back comes a fresh pepperoni and baocn pizza that is walked around toward the corner. Might not seem that strange at first until the guy carrying it places it right on a small counter where there is no table.

The little mouse sitting over there, well, mouse like creature grins broadly and nods, "Thanks!" She calls out even as she quickly hops up and pulls a piece of the pizza on to a plate and then smiles as she adjusts her straw into the bowl of cola.

She peers though toward the door, quickly zipping around to the other side of the pizza and sniffing the air as she peers at the costumed figure she can spot through the plants placed near the entryway.

    Thankfully her mask hides her blush for the most part. She looks down at the menu and clears her throat. "Oh, uh, no. I'm not a Titan. I'm the Star Spangled Kid. Big deal...in the midwest..." She trails off,. Back in the Golden Age the Star Spangled Kid was a big deal member of the JSA. But that was decades ago...and a man.

    "Medium buffalo wings and...uh...let's go with bleu cheese? Aaaaand a ...mmm. Sprite." She nods and then glances down at herself and sighs. "Aaaaaand my costume doesn't have room for my wallet. Awesome."

A blink and the little mouse that could...n't help but overhear most conversations peers closer and then she smirks. She zips over to the counter and grins and waves a hand at the woman behind the counter, "Hey! It's fine, put her wings on my ticket!" She nods her head and looks over at Courtney, nose twitching a little and she grins, "She's a hero! I can smell it!" She giggles and then taps her nose before pointing over to the corner, "Hey, join me over there. They can bring ya a chair." She nods her head before blurring over to her spot again. She's fast. Quite fast. And she's already half-way through a pizza slice before Courtney has a chance.

    Well, she sure didn't excpect THAT!

    Courtney's eyes widen at the sight of the mouse girl, and then she nods, rolling with it. "Sure, sure." She looks to the server and grins a bit. "Well, you heard her. I'll be over there. Thanks." Seeming relieved, the Kid makes her way over to join Kaida in her corner. Waiting for her chair, she leans against the side of it and watches her curiously. She offers a gloved hand. Well, she starts to, and then offers a finger to shake, instead. "Star Spangled Kid. You're one of the Titans, aren't you? I've definatly seen you in action. Well, in youtube clips..."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Really?!" She blinks at that and grins a little, tail twitching a few times as well as one ear. She takes the finger and gives it a shake. She's not by any means super strong but she definitely has a lot more strength in those little arms than one might expect. She then goes back over to the pizza and grins at Courtney, "I didn't really think anyone noticed me!" She states with a laugh, "So few people do."

She then takes a big sip of her soda before flopping down into a tiny chair even as a normal size one is brought over for Courtney, "I mean, I'm very tiny!" She shrugs.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
    "Sure. So? You know how many villains underestimated me because my name has Kid in it? And...well...I was a kid at the time?" She grins softly and thanks the server as a chair is brought up for her, along with her drink. She settles into it and sips it, as her mask leaves her mouth open.

    "I -don't- remember your name, though. What should I call you?," she asks curiously.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Looking at the girl, she grins and shrugs, "I'm not worried about being underestimated." She laughs, "I count on it." Kaida nods her head as she takes another big bite of pizza and then drinks more of her drink. She lets out a happy sigh and then peers at Courtney, "Seen me but don't know me?!" She gasps and then puts her hands on her hips, "I'm Kaida!" She laughs and then shrugs, "No one really expects me to just have a name but there it is." She moves back over to her seat and spins around once before falling into it again, pulling a sword and skewering a piece of pepperoni with it. It's very unclear where a whole piece of pizza went but it is gone, "I mean, having a secret identity or special name really doesn't matter when you're a tiny mouse. Can't pretend like I'm some /other/ mouse who can walk around and talk."

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
"I guess that's fair," she replies with a lopsided grin. And then her bared tummy (Midrift costumes, amiright?) audibly growls as her plate of buffalo wings and side of bleu cheese is set out. "Yeeeeeeesssss..." She tugs her gloves off, since they are nice and white, and immediatly begins to dig into them with the eagerness of a teen, and not someone worried about looking fancy.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A giggle at the sight and Kaida gives a fist pump in the air, "Here here." She states and pulls another slice of pizza over to her plate and begins to consume, giving Courtney some much needed time with her food. She sips at her drink again after finishing off one more slice before she settles into her seat again, giving Courney some time to really enjoy the wings before she adds, "So, Star Spangled Kid?" She asks and tilts her head, "Famous in the mid-west? What brings you to Metropolis?"

"Uh, well..." She downs a few wings quickly before slowing down to a more human speed. "I guess I can tell you. School. I'm a student. Went from being one of the only heroes in the area..too...well..." The Kid grins ruefully and shrugs a shoulder. "Rough being away from my sidekick, though. Giant robot I could fly around on. Annoyed the hell out of me sometimes, but...I miss his bossy butt. It's hard to do this schtick alone."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A blink and she tilts her head, "A giant robot?!" Kaida suddenly is standing up and is in front of Courtney, paw like hands placed on her plate and eyes staring up at her with a tail twitching a little, "Really? That's awesome!" She states and then blinks a few times, "And it could fly? Why'd ya leave it behind? ItWasBossy?! ITCOULDTHINK!? ONITSOWN!?" She stands up straight and then clears her throat a little, shifting a little and seeming to calm.

"Uh, that's cool." She nods her head and turns to walk back to her plate, trying to suddenly be much cooler and smoother as she moves back to her seat, "I mean, I've fought centaurs but yeah, a robot sidekick or whatever is neat."

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
"Well, not a -robot-. A giant robot suit," she explains, grinning a bit. STRIPE. "He built it out of a classic car, y'see. But, yeah...kinda bossy. We got along better at the end, but me decided to leave our town to go to college might have been the nail in the coffin..."

She finishes another wing before picking one up and setting it down on the mouse's plate.

A smile as she gets given a wing, she sits down next to the wing and pulls off a piece and nods to that explanation, "Well, that's still pretty cool." She nods her head as she takes a bite of chicken and then tilts her head to the side, "Sorry to hear you had a rough time when your partner though." She nods again, "Not always great to leave under bad circumstances but at least you are still active here. I bet he's real happy about that even if he didn't want ya to leave."

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
"Probably more worried then anything," she replies with a small chuckle. She takes a sip of her Sprite and then cocks her head to the side. "So, what's it like? Being in the Titans, I mean? I used to be in the fanclub on facebook." She grins a bit ruefully at that. "Well, I'm in a lot of fan groups. Hell, my twitter name was Supergirlstan for...a long time."

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A small laugh escapes Kaida and she shrugs, "It's like having a group of friends." She nods her head and bites off some more chicken as she thinks on it, "Friends you can count on and who all have different skills that compliment one another." She grins, "Take me for instance! I'm very tiny, very fast, and I have incredible senses." She nods and flicks an ear, "So, I can easily get into places most can't. I get missed, ignored, and lost under foot. I'm a big threat to forget but people often do!" She grins, "Whereeas someone like Supergirl is a heavy hitter and a big target. No one forgets about that big S on her chest and they aim for it. She's the almost opposite of me in a lot of ways. We all have our place and we help each other out while we help out everyone around." She considers Courtney, "Why? You interested?"

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
Courtney actually blushes enough at the mention of Supergirl that it extends down and is a bit visible in her mask. "Oh. Uh. Right. She's a member...." She clears her throat and tries to focus on her wings to kill the blush. "I'm super interested, actually. Back home I tried to rebuild the JSA but...it didn't really pan out. Being a Titan is, like, a total dream. is that dumb?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Nope!" She laughs and gives a thumbs up, "I think it's super cool and so are you!" She nods, "Anyone who is willing to put their life on the line for others is cool in my book!" She then rushes over to the entryway and waves at the girl there, giving her some instructions before zipping back, "I'm gettin' a box for my pizza and then we can take it to go. The tower isn't far from here, I can take ya there!" SHe nods her head and bounces from foot to foot, "I have never introduced someone to the Titans before! This is gonna be cool!"

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
Her eyes widen a bit and she opens and then closes her mouth. "Oh. Right...now? Okay. Sure." She clears her throat and suddenly finds her mouth very dry. She picks up her Sprite and drains it before she moves to stand. "Do you...want to go on my shoulder or something? Sorry, that's dumb, you're faster then I am." She grins.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A laugh and then Kaida shrugs, "All the more reason to ride on your shoulder!" SHe states and nods her head, "I don't wanna get there super fast and then wait for you." She nods her head, "So, we'll go at your pace. Besides, then you can carry my pizza." SHe winks and laughs before the waitress arrives and boxes up Kaida's pizza for her.

Courtney Whitmore has posed:
The girl smirks and picks up the pizza box in question. "Well, I guess that's fair." She leans down so the mouse can hop on her costumed shoulder. She spends a moment putting her gloves back on before she waves to the girl behind the counter. Star Spangled Kid then turns and heads on outside to the city proper. "Alright, friend...where to?"

Kaida Connolly has posed:
A laugh and Kaida casually sits on Courtney's shoulder and points, "I mean, first lesson on being in the Titans. Be aware of your surroundings." She smirks and gestures at the big giant T, "Head towared the huge T!" She grins and shrugs before looking to Courtney and tilting her head, "You did say you were a fan, right?"
