Green Energy
Date of Scene: 27 March 2020
Location: Remote Island, Carribean
Synopsis: Green Lantern, Superman and Captain Marvel meet about Genosha's green energy.
Cast of Characters: Clark Kent, Hal Jordan, Carol Danvers

Clark Kent has posed:
Superman was the one to end up reaching out in different directions to get the meeting set. He chose a beautiful location: a beach island in the carribean, uninhabited; a warm little piece of rock and sand, wooded comfortably. There are some decent places to sit, should anyone chose to, on the weather-worn rocks, though the heroes may not come to that. Still, a tranquil, private spot. Coordinates delivered, Superman ends up being the first on location. He's not in his Superman suit, he's in snug, dark 'casual' attire, but there's no secret about whether or not if it's him. He has a bag with him, near his leg, laptop in type, but otherwise is seated on a patch of the rocks, looking far out into the ocean, thoughtful and patient.

Hal Jordan has posed:
Hal arrives shortly thereafter...it's actually pretty nice island, and, of course, Hal appears as Green Lantern, mostly because it's a business trip. He understands why his friend is...not advertising himself, but if he's seen out here in the middle of nowhere, he might as well be rather obviously green. He didn't bring anything in particular with him...if he needs to save data exactly, the ring will do whatever recording has to be done. Still...he's been avoiding his friend due to not wanting to blow his cover, so he's pretty relieved he gets to talk to him again.

"Hey. Good to see you. Been a while."

Carol Danvers has posed:
Carol is fashionably late, or at the very least last to arrive.

someone has a very active job and a very public persona still really and it puts obligations on your schedule that make flying off to the carribean a bit harder than it should be.

Still she is a very fast flyer and a quick trip up to space and back down means she doesn't mess up anything going really fast once she manages to pull away from the SHIELD matter that kept her.

She slows to normal speeds as she descends down to the island and then lands on the beach "Hey you two." once she is down. "Nice Island, though I imagine the wifi is crap."

Clark Kent has posed:
"It has. You'll see more of me soon," Superman assures Green Lantern, standing up and approaching, offering a companionable clasp of hand to his friend. There's a resilience in Superman's eyes that has been a little bit lacking in any previous brief encounters. Superman might really be finally coming around.

Superman releases Hal's hand and smiles to Carol as well, wryly smiling at her joke, hands resting loose at his hips. "Terrible wifi was a requirement," he chuckles softly, and releases a breath, looking to Hal. "There's a few things to talk through. We need your help with untangling a problem."

Hal Jordan has posed:
"Yeah, sure, what's up?" Whether they needed him specifically or anyone would do, Hal was always happy to help his friends out. And then....hey, look, Captain Marvel.

"Missed you at the charity event. There were planes to race!" Hal is sad no planes got raced. Maybe next time he throws an event.

Still, he needs to figure out what's going on, so he waits for just that.

Carol Danvers has posed:
"I heard and I would have kicked your ass Hal. Unfortunatly I had a SHIELD thing to take care of that I couldn't pawn off." and when it is something she has to take care of specifically and can't pawn off it is likely bad.

"Good to see you both... so yeah."

She pauses pensively.

"Eh no need to beat around the bush. We have a problem. The whole Genosha thing... either the Guardians were behind it or someone planted a lot of evidence to make it look like they are behind it."

Yeah she is watching his reaction very closely.

Hal Jordan has posed:
"You would try." When it comes to the plane race, at least. Hal, being the super competitive guy he is, totally thinks he'd whip Carol in a plane showoff competition. It'd probably be too close to call most of the time, but Hal has CONFIDENCE!

And then he feels like Carol just poleaxed him. "...What?"

"...I was there an hour after the attack with Power Girl and Aquaman. I didn't see any evidence at the time a Lantern ring was used. And really, it couldn't be. The Guardians have to authorize lethal force, and lethal force defaults to off."

Clark Kent has posed:
"If it wasn't the Guardians, we need to examine closely who would plant a lot of evidence to lead that way," Superman says, attempting to move a hand to touch his friend's shoulder. Green Lantern isn't being attacked here, there's information being shared, but not with aggresive intent.

"The green energy shown in the evidence we can gather from the event isn't the only piece. I was directly drawn off-planet by a distress call from a probe, which Carol believes is linked to this direction as well," Superman says. "We're hoping to dig deeper, on who would know to do this, or why."

Carol Danvers has posed:
Carol nods "Well it isn't like your constructs give off lingering energy signtures in my experience Hal. Still I would love to scan one to see how it looks to confirm."

She taps her arm and projects a hologram from her suit, playing some footage. It displays the Sentinels attacking Genosha and then giant green beams slamming into the two cities and leaving the devastation and very little sentinel activity after it.

"The sattelites were tampered with and I can't figure out if it was to remove someone or to add the beams."

Then nodding to what Clark said. "The probe was Guardian technology, I have the data of the examination but the probe is in SHIELD custody now so I can't get it out to you Hal."

Hal Jordan has posed:
"I mean, I can check it out on Oa. I can't think of why, though. One island, on a tiny little planet that's not even spaceflight capable, in a space sector way over here...and they didn't even notify me? I mean, some of the mutants are strong, but..." It doesn't seem like they rate Guardian attention. The motive seems absent for the Guardians. It takes a lot to get their attention.

As for a construct to examine, Hal just creates a table and some chairs, so everyone can have a seat. All green, of course. He takes his own chair.

Clark Kent has posed:
"At the very least, a check would help turn up if there are others that the Lanterns know of that have copied them or use similar energy, to narrow this down, as to other suspects to look at," Superman says reasonably, moving over first to his bag for a small data chip, then to the chairs and table, though he doesn't sit, he does rest a hand on the back of the chair that was meant to be his.

Apologetic, Superman adds, "I cannot linger too long at this meeting, unfortunately, but I don't think there is much more to add, without further investigation from you. I have a copy of the scans I was able to make of the distress probe as well." He sets the chip out for Hal to take or scan as desired.

Carol Danvers has posed:
Carol turns her hand and taps her sleeve and scan the table there running her hand above the surface as she walks around it. "That was honestly my thought too. No reason the Guardians would do it. I mean sure historically they have had some instances of disproportionate responses to problems and made .. poor choices." she pauses "But like you said one Island on one mostly harmless planet."

"Still the alien invasion pace is really picking up around here over the last two decades .... I really do not think the origin of the lure pod .. probe well it couldn't have been made by someone on earth. Where would they even get the tech or know to spoof your blasts like that for spy satellites. So it really leads me to believe that either way the problem is alien to earth."

She looks to Hal waiting for him to take the chip from Supes. "Ring ready, going to display the scans I made so you have that data as well .. pretty sure your ring can absorb and store right?" she taps her arm to bring it up and well she starts to display detailed scanning information on the holodisplay. It is in english not Kree helpfully.

"I can't wait until you are back and we can figure out what to do about the Hall of Justice or whatever." that was directed to Superman. "Convenient meeting rooms with good displays."

Hal Jordan has posed:
Hal doesn't wanna push, he really doesn't, but..."I mean...I miss you too. I don't wanna bother you." Because it's difficult to explain why a test pilot is randomly showing up near a news building unless he's being interviewed.

But in the meantime..."Guess I've got go visit HQ now." His ring scans all the data available...he can check it against the home computers, and check the displays of the green blasts for discrepancies. "Can't imagine...well, due diligance and all. I can at least eliminate this one. I'll be back when I can."

Carol Danvers has posed:
"Let me know what you figure out Hal or if you need back up okay?" she tilts her head looking at him now and then to Supes. Then back to Hal. "If it is the Guardians well we have a huge problem so be ready to not be smashed by HQ when you go check on this... if it isn't well we can kick who ever is framing your bosses and teach them they can't do this kind of atrocity on earth." she steps away now the display flickering out.

"Seriously stay safe or I'll never be able to show you how bad I can kick your ass flying jets." she smiles and then looks up. "I need to get back."

Clark Kent has posed:
Superman's expression turns sad, and he nods once to Hal. "We'll do something else when you get back, my friend," he suggests, openly. There's an appreciative quality in it: he does know Hal has had his back. It hasn't gone without notice.

Superman lets that go for now, and returns to business. "Appreciate anything you can tell us. We'll share what we learn again, and be wiser for it all. I'll see what I can do about a better meeting space, but my funding is limited," chuckles Superman to Carol. He shoulders his bag after moving to snare it, and nods once.

"We'll get there." Superman believes in them.
