Where Can I Put My Anger
Date of Scene: 19 September 2021
Location: Roof Tower
Synopsis: Ororo comes to tell Noriko about Jubes not being her roommate for now. Noriko has concerns and feels and misplaces them all over the place.
Cast of Characters: Noriko Ashida, Ororo Munroe

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko has always had a habit of falling asleep in odd places at odd times.  No one told her not to yet, so it is that she is sprawled on one of the patio couches, her weird material-ed shoes on the ground.  She stares up at the sky, her gauntlets resting at her stomach.

The nice thing about Noriko, or not nice thing, is people tend to stop using their phones around her, and so there isn't anyone else on the patio but her today.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"Noriko." Whispers a familiar voice as the ebony woman floats down from the skies to land on her feet, bare foot, and with a simple pair of torn jeans covering parts of her long smooth legs.

Turning to face Noriko with a simple plain white v-neck shirt tucked into her waist, Ororo cants her head towards the younger mutant and shifts her lips softly to the side as she tries to figure out the blue haired woman.

"I don't need to read your mind to see that you're not feeling so great, are you?" Ororo takes a wild stab in the dark that a teenager might not be the happiest person on the planet.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko certainly didn't land at Xavier's with the most glowing disposition, but being Jubilation's roommate had helped her to open up.  "I'm just taking a nap.  Well I was trying to."  Of course Noriko saw Ororo floating in from forever away, but she doesn't push up to a seated position till then, slumping over.

The speedster regards Ororo for a moment, confused as to why she might not be continuing on to her attic.  Then realizing Ororo really is there to talk /to her/.  "Whatever it is, I didn't do it."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
The heartbreak on Ororo's face isn't hard to miss, her eyes grow quickly sorrowful and even her hinted smile shifts to a stoic frown.

She wants to reach out to the young woman.

She wants to assure her that the world isn't always out to get her.

    She wants to ...

"Noriko." Ororo frowns, stepping a touch closer and lowering herself to a knee to put herself just below Noriko's natural eye level. With a quiver in her voice, "There's nothing Noriko. No trouble you need to worry about." And she slowly reaches a hand out, but doesn't touch her, not without permission.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko was ready for outright denial, for some mischief or something to come back and bite her finally, or just some kind of annoying responsibility to pop up, but this.  Ororo kneeling makes the speedster swallow.

"Yeah that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.  What happened?"  Noriko doesn't pull her gauntlets away.  She doesn't move.  Her dark eyes flare with a glow and sudden crackle that she blinks away.  "What happened?" She repeats.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo doesn't move again, remaining on her knee, and drawing some of the white twines of fabric taught against her leg. She continues to look Noriko directly in the eye and frowns still.

"I don't want you to feel like that, like you're always in trouble or at fault." Ororo says, blinking away her emotions, and taking a deep breath, raising the height of her shoulders as she does so. "You're loved here, and you're wanted here. You don't have to always explain yourself or be on the defensive."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"I know but," but she does do a lot of stuff.  Noriko shuts her mouth and decides not to 'talk back,' as her father would call it.  "Yes.  I know, but I can't help it.  Can we just move on?"  She breaks eye contact, almost frowning.  But fairly quickly her eyes return.  She doesn't have the patience to be that dramatic right now.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo nods slowly to herself, cracking her lips apart to take in a deep breath before standing back up and spinning her bottom away to end up sitting on the bench next to Noriko. She clasps her hands and puts them in her lap, but she keeps her eyes towards Noriko, but there's a weight behind them. Not a heavy weight, not a judgemental weight, but an honest weight.

"How are you adjusting to the new school year? Are things between you and Jubilation going well?" Ororo asks, a hint of guilt crossing her voice at the last question.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"Things are going great.  I mean.  It's school.  So...kind of boring," which by now Ororo probably knows just means slow.  Jean has already given Noriko a little bit of leeway to do more independent study, but not at the sacrifice of her interactions with others.  Still.

"I mean.  Yeah.  Would-would they not be?"  Noriko tilts her head.  "What?  You know I can see all of your tiny expressions as easily as a huge frown right?"  Something Noriko has been aware of for a long time...micro expressions.  "I mean something is obviously wrong.  Is Jubes okay?"

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo's smirk is a short but bitter sweet one. "You live with the girl and you're asking me if she's okay." Ororo says with a belabored sigh.

There's a long pause, which, for Noriko must feel like an eternity as Ororo searches for the words. "I recently found out Jubilation has died." Ororo explains, "Has been for a while, I'm not sure exactly how long."

"Have you noticed anything unusual about her for youself?"

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"I thought-I thought maybe there was another accident," accident,"or something," yes or something.  The words have their own weight, one Noriko didn't really realize was there until they came from her lips.

"A few strange things.  I mean the first thing we did was go to the doc.  Then he said to go see the headmistress.  It took me awhile to figure out what was going on," and even longer to deal with her denial about the supernatural.

"But, she did die and come back to life.  It's not like we knew exactly what was going on even though everyone knew stuff was definitely going on."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ah, so they knew far longer than she was lead to believe. Ororo thinks to herself, but then even Jean knew, maybe even knew before the Shi'ar extravaganza.

Ororo allows herself to breath out a sigh. "How much do you trust Jubilation in her new condition?" The weather witch asks gently, knowing a few things that she herself doesn't much feel safe with.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"I don't know.  I mean it's weird when someone dies and comes back to life and Jubes kept swearing that wasn't what happened, but I saw her you know?  And then the attack and clean up.  I was just hoping she was okay," the speedster's mind sort of rattles out.  "How much do I trust her?"

"I trust her with my life.  But, I've just been seeing how she is.  I mean I don't sleep much anyways and I'm faster than her by far."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"Well, I don't want to alarm or surprise you, or anything like that, but for everyone's safety and health, I've requested that you two don't share a room for the time being." Ororo says, she doesn't BS the decision she's made, she doesn't even try to obscure it, or veil it in some way. She's honest with Noriko, and as much as that's not going to help, she does her best with how she'd want to be treated. Honestly and with respect.

"I trust Jubilation with my life as well, but I do not trust her ... condition. We've asked her what arrangement works best for her, and I believe she said she wanted her own room. We're not expecting you two to stop seeing each other or anything as barbaric and backwards, but we are wanting to be cautious not just for you, but for everyone in the school."

Ororo looks directly to Noriko now, as she's not quite done, "We're also contacting some of our more mystically inclined contacts, we're going to find someone who can and will help get her back to us, to you."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"Oh...but I don't get how that changes anything.  I mean she's pretty fast and I'm super fast so...how is that any different than us living in the same room?"

Noriko blinks and her eyes roam to indistinct details as she listens to Ororo go on after she hears Jubes wanted her own room.  That seems to kick the wind out of her the girl's sails.  But easily sensing Ororo's gaze becoming more direct, her eyes flick back to Ororo.

"Is that what she wants?"  Her brow wrinkles with concern.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"I wanted you two to have seperate living spaces, and we gave her options. That was the one she chose." Ororo says, again, keeping honest, and direct language. Something she's always done, but she's usually not putting up walls like this.

"It's not much different, but I feel better knowing there is some barrier between you two should she give into the nature of her current self." Ororo says, the muscles of one cheek contracting, pulling at that side of her mouth gently. She's not happy, but she's still having to make adult choices. "And it is only temporary."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"Fine," Noriko says shortly.  "You aren't putting me with anyone else are you?  And...I assume she's not allowed to come visit me?"  The asian girl is obviously trying to hold her emotions together.

"How temporary?  Because..."  Because Nori's never spent a night at the school without Jubilation at least being in the same room, but these aren't things she thought she'd be thinking about.  Of course she immediately expected something horrible to happen when she figured out what Jubilation was, but she hasn't had that much time at all either.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"You are certainly allowed to visit each other, Like I said, you're not being split apart. We simply are trying to keep you safe, and keep her from hurting someone else, Logan has been quite helpful so far, and we expect him to continue to be a boon for Jubilation."

Ororo frowns, and wants to reach out for Noriko, to touch her, to comfort her, but Ororo holds her own hand, and wrings her fingers with a touch of nervous energy.

"No one else will be rooming with you, unless you want, and temporary as long as it takes us to reverse Jubilations dilemna."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"What do you mean Logan has been helpful.  All he did was give her detention for something she didn't even know she was doing and then acted like he cared after he scolded her for stuff that I don't even know," Noriko huffs as it comes out in a string of hurried words.  She looks over at Ororo.  "I had to eat a lot of Cheetos bags to survive that one," that is not wanting to solve that one with her fists.

"What if she doesn't want to chance anything in some kind of reversal process?  I mean...she's dead.  She had to die to become what she is..."  Noriko is obvious voicing some of her own fears and anxieties.  "Will she be allowed to stay here?  At Xaviers?"

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"I hope you only ate the cheetos and not the bags themselves." Ororo says, a hint of levity in her eyes and in the flash of the smile on her face. "Logan's been helping in ways I don't want to burden you with. It's... not pleasant." Ororo leaves it at that.

"We're not doing things without asking Jubilation her opinion. Like I said, we're asking the mystics and mages, and wizard types. I've been trying to get a hold of Illyana for some time, and I'm wanting to get a hold of Doctor Strange even. We'll find a way, and if not, well, we're not kicking her out."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"I was able to stop myself this time," Noriko says, though she certainly hasn't had any incidents of eating so fast the bag ends up in her mouth...that anyone knows of.

"What is that supposed to mean?  You can't just say that and then end on that.  This is my girlfriend's health.  I want to know what's going on...or should I just ask her?"  Noriko frowns.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"We're not keeping anything from you, or her. We don't even know if this can be reversed." Ororo explains, "This is way out of our normal scope of things. But as soon as we know something we'll be letting her and you know. And you can certainly still talk to her." Ororo says, noding softly, "We're just as much in the dark as you are at this point."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"No.  I mean what is going on with Logan.  What do you mean he's been helping out in ways you don't want to burden me with?"  Noriko tries to get more direct, sensing perhaps she wasn't clear.  An eyebrow arches.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo's shoulders drop and she frowns briefly, but she knows that this is more than enough for Noriko to really understand, "He's helping her with the need for human, and or, mutant blood." Ororo says, looking back to Noriko and keeping her hands in her lap still, though she plucks at a frayed end of denim where her skin meets the cool breeze.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"What?"  The t splits the air.  Noriko scoffs and then laughs.  "No way she would do that."  But then something shifts in the speedster's demeanor in a fraction of a moment.  She looks back to Ororo.  "Over my dead body," she grumbles darkly.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"I would Logan several things. Stinky, brash, headstrong, but I would never call him a liar." Ororo says, lifting a white eyebrow up towards Noriko. "And that is what we're all concerned about, be it yours or another students or a teachers 'dead body'." Ororo says, lifting her hands up and framing herself with the 'air quotes' motion before they fall back to her lap. "Jubilation is a vampire, as best as we can tell."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"Yeah, which means he probably bullied her into it," Noriko throws up her hands as if the answer were obvious to her.  Of course she's been stewing over every new bit of information far more many thought cycles in a relative vacuum and that's not necessarily a good thing.

"I don't even know what that really means yet.  It's not like I expect all the Hollywood movies had real vampires as consultants on their sets."  It's not like Noriko was ever really paying attention to the vampire movies her and Jubes put on Jubes' laptop.

"Can I come?  When you guys talk to these people?"

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"I don't think Logan was one to bully Jubilation, or anyone that ---" Ororo stops mid thought. Could Logan be a bully? Ororo has a new thing to meditate over.

Shaking her head, Ororo returns to the subject at hand, "Many of us don't either, but what I do know, is Jubilation is no longer a thing that is natural to this Earth, and that above all else concerns me." Then reaching out to put her hand around Noriko's shoulder and resting it on her back, and even being prepared for a jolt, "You can certainly come."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko still doesn't want to believe it though.  She pouts stubbornly as she stews a little on it, until Ororo continuing spurs her out of it.  There's always some kind of buzz to the girl, but right now, there's a little bit of a jolt.  Nothing more than nine volt surely.

It dampens off mostly rather quickly though. "Okay.  Why does it matter what she is though?  As long as she's here?"  The poor girl grasps for that normalcy again.  "That she's natural to the Earth or not?"

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"It matters because she's not fully herself. It matters becuase be she admits it or not, or tries to refuse it, but she is now a predator. Intentions or no, if she has a lapse in control or judgement it will cost a life. And may even possibly make more like her. More that are not truly alive." Ororo says, looking away from Noriko as she finishes and pulls her hand back to her own lap, frowning. She doesn't wish this on any one, even those that would wish her and her kind harm. This is not the way of things.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"Well yeah, of course.  I just thought that was a given though.  Something has happened to her.  It's made her this.   And it is now her responsibility.  And I'm going to try and help her with that so it isn't so hard.  I don't know about the her not being fully herself.  I don't know about that.  It would be unnatural if she wasn't trying to eat food no matter what she is.  Dead or alive."  Noriko shrugs.  "But I know no one will agree with me and it doesn't matter.  I'll just find out about things...at some point after they've happened."  She really wishes that had came out wittier but English isn't her first language, as much as she could fool most people.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"You're not the only one here in the cloud of the unknown." Ororo sympathizes and tries to get Noriko to realise she's not being excluded by the 'adults' this time. This whole situation is an unknown to them. "But it would help me, if you'd trust me more." Ororo says, putting a hand over her heart, and frowning, "Do you honestly think before this, she would have eaten a horse? And yes, she has to eat, that is something Logan is helping with, like I said. We're taking precautions, and trying to keep everyone as safe as possible, and I really need your help with not fighting us on this because I can't understand why you think we're against you or Jubilation. We are not. We are doing everything we can to help her. You said you wanted to be there when we talk with an expert, I agreed, and now you're saying we're going to keep secrets from you? Noriko, we're all on the same side here."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"That's not what I'm saying," Noriko sighs but clearly lets it go because she doesn't seek to clarify.  "Of course she wouldn't have drained a horse.  I'm not an idiot...I never said you were.  I'm saying people tell me stuff after the fact.  That's all."  Noriko tries to put on an aloof front, but it's clearly just masking some emotion.  Should Noriko be a part of the decision process?  Absolutely not.  The safety of the students is not her responsibility or her business, but...here we are.

"It's just...This is Jubilation," she admits softly.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"And she didn't tell you, or did she tell you and you thought this was a secret you two could keep and maybe figure out on your own?" Ororo asks, a solemn, sorrowful tone kissing her voice, as she wants to help, but she has to understand first.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"What are you talking about?  As soon as we figured it out Logan stuck his nose in everything.  I didn't know she was a vampire for awhile."  There were distractions.  "I mean. I guess I didn't want to think she was one.  I didn't think they existed.  We went to the Doc immediately.  No one was hiding anything.  I wanted to find out what was going on and I thought everyone was doing that too."  Noriko looks worried, confused. "But no one talks to us about anything. Or maybe it's just me. Or maybe no one talks to anyone else. Maybe it was the school blowing up." She shrugs. "Do you really think we were keeping this a secret?"

Ororo Munroe has posed:
"I wasn't told until after, well everything. I only found out a few days ago. And here I am, talking to you, I've told you everything I know, and everything we plan on doing, and I've told you I'm going to include you in any meetings we have with anyone in the future." Ororo says, a quiver to her voice as she's trying to get Noriko to stop making Ororo repeat herself. The woman has so much love in her, but she can only watch someone play dumb or act up for so long.

Noriko Ashida has posed:
"Okay.  I see.  No one talks to anyone.  That's not your fault," Noriko insists very strongly, but there's obviously some kind of fiery side to the girl.  "I trust you.  I'm sorry.  I just.  There have been a lot of things going on," she says softly and sighs.  "I should probably go make sure Jubes is okay."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Noding silently, Ororo allows Noriko to move, but before she can really go, knowing her speed, Ororo compensates, "Nori-" Ororo pauses and looks up to Noriko, hands back in her lap, "You can always come talk to me, you know that?"

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko is standing by the time Ororo catches her in anticipation with.  She looks down to Ororo.  "I know.  I was going to come talk to you about all this stuff before all this other stuff went down."  But these types of things have a way of imploding, something Nori couldn't know.  "It just didn't fall out that way."  And with that, she's gone.
