Location: Rec Room
Synopsis: Mystique tells Jean who was behind Genosha, and gives Jean a bit of practical advice to boot.
Cast of Characters: Jean Grey, Raven Darkholme

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean is currently sitting in the rec room, lounging on the couch. For once, there's not a lot of students around, or really, anyone at all. But she's sipping a glass of 7Up, muttering to herself a bit.

She might have tied one too many on at the Hellfire Club last night, yes.

Anyway, she's currently got an old episode of The West Wing playing on the TV (thank you, Netflix), and she's enjoying the relative low-key dialogue at a very low volume. Yes. Noise bad. Noise very bad.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
There's a kindly soft tap on Jean's shoulder as a woman stands behind her, and the young girl slowly starts to shift before Jean's eyes and her skin fades into something more azure. "I think we should talk. Miss Grey." The shape shifter says, hair redder than Jeans as she moves to sit down on the couch next to Jean and she curls her legs up under and beside her as she sits facing Jean, "I'm worried about one of your students. Well all but one specifically."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks a bit at Mystique's arrival, but well... she'd sense if she was in danger. She gives the shapeshifter a bit of a wry smile, "Alright, Mystique... if you're showing up openly like this, I'm guessing it's serious." She straightens up and looks over at Mystique, "Though you can call me Jean, if you like. What's going on?" One brow arches just a bit as she looks at Raven.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"My daughter is in your care Jean. My daughter. She is beyond important to me, and I know I've done things that have not only put her in danger it's put several people in danger." Mystique sighs and looks down at Jean with a sorrowful frown, "I need you to make sure she's safe. There's this PI, hired by Carol looking for Rogue. I had to give her some info..." Mystique sighs softly.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks, "Okay, Mystique... wait, Carol? Who... oh." She pauses, as things add up very quickly for her, "Oh hell's bells. What happened?" She looks carefully at Mystique, "And what precisely did you tell her?" One eyebrow arches alarmingly, but on the bright side, she's not just launching into Raven's head to yank out the info, so the restraint is nice!

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"I didn't expose your school to some random New York powered PI." Mystique says calmly as she looks towards the door and frowns before she looks back to Jean trying to make herself calm and comfortable but she's holding onto her ankle, just trying to focus herself.

"I told her three words. Westchester Burger Restaurant."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles slightly, "Harry's. Well, that's a good thing. I'll have a word with her there, I think. And hopefully keep this from..." She coughs, "I sympathize with what happened, but revenge isn't the answer." And she doesn't really want to pick a fight with the Avengers right now, with everything going on.

For one, Scott would probably kill her. Or possibly start dating a demonic clone of her or something.

She then looks over at Mystique, tilting her head, "Thank you, Mystique. This is very helpful, and hopefully we can keep Rogue safe with this."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"I'm going to go talk to Carol myself if possible, fall on the sword for Rogue because things are about to get worse for us. I know who sent the sentinels to Genosha... I asked her for help... It went, poorly." Mystique frowns and then slowly moves her feet from under her and stands back up. "Do you have a drink here? Something hard to cut this edge would be wonderful."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks, "Wait, you know who did it???" She looks at Mystique with an alarmed look, "Tell me who did it and if it pans out I'll get you Logan's private stash. Though for now... well, what's your poison? I have a selection hidden around here." Because, well, she does like to imbibe now and again, certainly.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"It's Sinister, Rogue knows this, I told her I need her help, but she'd rather me get beat by Carol than actually prevent the world from blowing up again." Mystique sighs and looks for the cabinets and then towards Jean. "I'll take anything red." She does slowly stand back up and moves past Jean, giving her a sort of look. "Would you like a glass too sweet Red?"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks at the sweet Red, and says, "Um... sure? I mean, yes, I think there's a nice red wine there." She pauses, and then passes Mystique mental directions to the hidden cabinet. Because, well, sometimes the kids are in here, so they have to keep it secret. "Glasses are on your left." A frown, as she registers the name of who Mystique said.

"Sinister. Well, that's a start. The real question is... why."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"I plan on finding out, but the kids want their damn soap operas." Mystique complains a she stands on her toes for a moment before making herself just a touch taller and reaches into the cabinet, pulling out a bottle and two crystal glasses. "Lovely set you have." She notes before grabbing an opener and working the cork out and pouring two shallow glasses. Passing one to Jean, and setting the bottle on the couch between them as she returns and takes a sip.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean tucks her own legs underneath her, and smiles a bit, "Well, if you could find out... honestly, I'd be very grateful. I mean, I know we've had a bit of... hrm. Bad history?" Considering the Brotherhood and the X-Men, yeah, that's putting it mildly. But she says, her tone serious, "Still, though, something like this makes it pretty clear that we have some mutual problems."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"You know I don't seek bad blood, but we do have different methods for the same goal." Mystique says with a swish of the wine around her glass before taking another sip. "I think this is one instance where we need to work together, at least clandestinely." Mystique says with a harshness in her eyes for a brief moment, "I figured I'd come warn you incase something goes wrong with my meeting with Carol or for some reason I can't go after Sinister on my own." Mystique explains. "I need you to be my contingency plan."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods, "Understandable... but, well, be careful, Mystique." She smiles faintly, sipping from her wineglass as she regards the shapeshifter, "I mean, I'm sure you will be, but... well, I'll hopefully have a few words with this detective and see what we can do, here. At least to keep Rogue out of trouble with Carol." Because, well, that's the last thing anyone wants. Except maybe Carol.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"At least keep an eye out for her, we both don't want her finding out about this place. But this thing with Sinister is my priority, I'm tired of feeling like I'm after some stupid quest line for some stupid video game or something." She groans and upturns the glass, emptying it into her mouth.

She reaches for the bottle to pour herself a second one and looks to Jean, making sure this is okay with the fellow red head.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean smiles, "Hey, you brought in that information, I'm perfectly happy with you finishing that, Mystique. Far as I'm concerned, you earned that." She sighs, still working on her first glass, but the redhead does look... a little put out, for some reason.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique pours herself a much fuller glass than last time and then looks over at Jean and turns the green bottle sideways to fill her glass up more as well. "Penny for your thoughts Jean." The spy asks, leaning back against the arm of her side of the couch and keeping her eyes on the redhead.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean chuckles, "Oh, just... sorting out some things in my head. My life is astonishingly weird on so many levels, Mystique." She pauses, a bit unsure about how much she can say... since, well, it's not like they're exactly friends.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"I feel like we're in an unusual situation right now Jean, an opportunity to try something new, maybe extend an olive branch that could benefit both of us and our people." She says, with a lift of her eyebrow, "I understand if you DONT want to open up and explore a new reality."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks, then laughs, "Oh no, this? This is fine, Mystique, really." She grins, "I meant my personal life, it's... weird. Even by our standards." Which is definitely saying //something//.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"Jean, me and my adopted daughter are both wanted by one of the 'greatest' super heroines on the planet." Mystique says with a soft frown on her blue lips as she wants to reach out to the younger mutant. "Try me."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "Alright, so... just when I was asking out this guy I liked, our daughter from another timeline shows up, followed by our son from a third timeline and our granddaughter." She gets a wry look on her face, "Needless to say, we never really followed through on that date. Because... well, yeah. What the hell, right?"

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"If that doesn't put a damper on the relationship, i don't know what does." Mystique frowns before making sure Jean had enough wine in her glass. "Did you at least get to have some fun with him first or is it just awkward as fuck now?"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean sighs, "Awkward as fuck, well... yeah, that's a good way to describe it. I'm not entirely sure what to do, really. I mean, I've gotten drunk before, seen a few other people and that went... well, about as well as you'd expect. And now I'm just kinda..." She shrugs a bit, "Which, I'm sure you didn't need to hear."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"You didn't get anywhere you wanted to. Shame, you look amazing, if you'd really get drunk and asked the right people, you'd be a man killer. Trust me on that." Mystique smirks confidently and then reaches out towards Jeans glad and helps her lift it up to take another sip. "Live a little."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks, then laughs a bit, "Well, yes, the party I was at last night definitely confirmed that. It was at the Hellfire Club." Which, well, yes, Jean decked out for //that// would be a sight, for certain. She does allow Mystique to help her finish the glass, then she looks curiously at Mystique, "Living a little... well, I suppose I should try that sometime."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"Tomorrow is never guaranteed." Mystique says, pulling her hand away from Jean and moving to grab the bottle of wine and pours another for the telepath. "Oh goodness, I haven't been to the club in..." Mystique looks towards the TV and gets lost in thought, "Oh, years and years. Do they still require that outrageous dress-" Mystique gasps loudly and looks back to Jean, "Send me those thoughts and memories! You must!"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean grins, "Well, I didn't stay too long, but..." She does send Mystique a recollection of the evening, from her point of view. Complete with Tony's entrance, and the outfits... including Jean's, since well... it's a harmless enough request, really?

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"Okay, lets try something." Mystique says, passing her glass over to Jean, and gets to her feet. Turning to face Jean, Mystique closes one eye and holds up her thumb towards Jean with the other eye and then smirks. She closes her eyes and moments later, Jean is looking at a copy of herself, as she was the other night, corset, fishnets and everything. Identical. "Yeah? Like that?"

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean actually pffts a bit of wine back into her glass, "I keep forgetting how good you are with that... and yeah, that's pretty much my outfit." She grins, "Uncomfortable at points, but it was a fun evening."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"Practice." Jean tells, herself, as Mystique tells the telepath with the woman's own voice and she moves, making sure to buck her hips slowly as she steps back to the couch and sits back down, carefully pulling her legs back under herself and frowns. "You'd be great at all of this and everything you set your mind to." The shapeshifted version says before reaching back for her glass.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean laughs, "Oh, I'm sure I would be... I'm not sure that I want to be? I mean, what if more children from other timelines show up? I have enough of them already, and they complain I don't give them an allowance..." She trails off, a soft snicker escaping her as she tries hard not to be thinking about alternate timelines and all that craziness.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
"Come on, get up." Mystique says, shifting back to her blue skin with a soft ripple across her skin and leaving the red corset on and looks down at herself with a shrug of her shoulders. "Not bad, I don't think I have the color." She says before she stands back up and the corset is replaced with her normal white clothes, "Come, we're going to get your mind off these things. Grab the wine."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean blinks, "Wait, what..." She grabs the wine, not exactly sure what Mystique has in mind, but she follows after the shapeshifter with a curious expression...
