Cast of Characters: Robert Marksman, Terry O'Neil

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman has left a message with Mr. O'Neil's answering service or machine which ever he uses. It consists of "Hello, My name is Dr. Robert Marksman, I was hoping I might be able to meet you to talk about a community outreach program for Bushwich school children. If you have the time let me know when would be good for you, we can meet at Fred's Dinner in Bushwich, and when the other man sets a time, Robert makes sure he is there earlier, and has one of the better booths, sitting with his back to the wall, watching for the other man, as he knows those who do not know him often do not peg him for a doctor.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry usually tries to be early for appointments, himself. However, today is one of those days where you just end up running behind in everything, and after a particularly lengthy staff meeting at the Planet, there was no helping his schedule. He is only late by five minutes when he arrives, however, so at least there's that.

As a human, he doesn't draw as much attention as when he's being a cat- and that serves him quite well when he needs to attend a quiet meeting. Stepping into the diner, Terry looks around for Doctor Marksman. Doctors come in all shapes and sizes in his world, so he's not one to assume what one might look like. Becoming a talking cat out of a storybook helps change your perspective quite a bit.

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman will see Terry and waves a hand and motions for the other man to join him. As he gets near, he will stand and offer his hand to him, "Thank you for coming Mr. O'Neil, would you like something to drink or eat? They have pretty good food here, it is where I often have a quick lunch when I am on duty at the clinic."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The redhead grins and shakes Dr. Marksman's hand, "Thank you, Doctor, it'll just be a coffee for me- I had a strong breakfast."

He slides into the booth, across from Robert, and sets his satchel to the side. "You mentioned an outreach program you wanted to discuss?"

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods his head a bit as he moves to sit back across from the man, getting a soda and some fries himself. "Yes, I am working on trying to show some of the local kids what they can do, and some of the possibilities they may have open to them. I have talked to a fellow from the planet who is supposed to come and speak and I was wondering if you would be willing to to come and talk to the kids about your career."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The young man blinks, thinking for a second when Marskman makes his proposal. "By my career, which particular career are you referring to?" he asks, smiling a little, "I wear a few hats and I'm never entirely sure which one people refer to."

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman says, "Well, I was hoping you might talk to them about journalism, but yes, I wager they will want to talk to you about the hero thing as well." He admits. "The fact that you are a openly altered person may come into effect as well, since most of the kids here in town are mutants. If your willing maybe a second visit down the road about the whole hero thing?""

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"I see," Terry says. His coffee arrives and he nurses it, waiting for it to cool a little before he sips it. "Well, I do need to mention that I am not a mutant... some people might find that distinction significant. Me? Not so much. I'm of the mind that opportunities should be available to anyone, regardless of whether they be human, metas, mutants, or anachronistic storybook magical creatures. But you don't think anyone connected with the program might object, correct?"

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman shakes his head a bit and says "The other guy coming to talk is a normal human, at least to my knowledge. I figure while you may get less grief cause your a member of the Titans, there are still people who look at you odd cause your different and not the standard norm."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"That is certainly true. I would be more than happy to take part... in fact, I could do you one better. I can run this by Gar and see if he, too, would like to come and talk? You might say that I am able to live a more privileged life because I can hide my exceptional side," he gestures to himself, a regular-looking red-headed young man, "if I need to. Gar is Gar all of the time and can't exactly hide. And yet he has been on television and in moves..."

He tilts his head side to side, "Yes, in niche roles that capitalize on his uniqueness..." Space Trel had, after all, cast him as a shape-shifting alien exclusively for the purpose of not having to pay extra in special effects, "But it has allowed him to be part of popular culture one way or another. I can talk to the kids about journalism and Gar can come and talk to them about the media world."

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods his head and smiles "That would be nice, like I said we may have a bit of a problem them only wanting to talk about the hero stuff, but maybe once they calm down they can learn and grow from it. Am trying to make sure they know there are paths they can take to better themselves. If they are obvious mutants or not."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
The redhead raises an eyebrow after sipping his coffee, "That's good coffee," he remarks. Usually, his caffeine experiences at the Planet are more tacticle than taste-based, because Lois' coffee tends to have an almost-nuclear presence to it.

"I am thinking that maybe you could use with having a profile run on you by the Planet. Something that will help highlight the program... obviously I won't be able to write it, since I'm going to be a speaker... but there's a fellow colleague who might. Would you be amenable to a profile?"

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman shrugs a bit and says "If you think it would help, was a bit of gossip target when I moved out of the Marksman industries tower and came here. I started off working at the clinic here but I talked to someone who convinced me I could do more good here.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry takes something out of his shirt pocket and starts scribbling on his card. "This is the name of my colleague. I'll reach out to her so you two can do the profile," he pushes the card over to him, the name 'Nia Nal' has been written on it, as well as the number for her general message system at the Planet, "You'll like her, I think, she has a gift for putting people at ease in interviews."

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods a bit and looking at the card. I think the other fellow mentioned I might want to talk to her about giving a speech as well." He munches a bit of his fries. "We have luckily had more peaceful time of late so working on more things for the kids as well.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Terry nods, "Well, with that on the table, you can give me details on the program so I can be knowledgeable when I show up-- and we need to agree on a date." He takes his phone out in order to review his schedule, "I'm pretty flexible this month, I've got a couple of things percolating in my figurative kitchen but nothing that's ready to boil right away... I assume we're looking for a school day, right? How's the fifteenth?"

Robert Marksman has posed:
Robert Marksman nods, and will give a few dates of when they are considering doing it, and his own number as well as some numbers for the school, so things can be lined up, and when both him and Gar can make it.
