Alexander Aaron has posed:
Spring break is over, it's supposed to be bright and sunny with beautiful flowers and children rushing about happily enjoying the brilliance of the day. Especially when the school is out, the last bell for seventh period having rung loud and long, signaling the rush of all of the students heading off home or to the bus circle or further.
Except today. It's rain. Rain and rain and rain. The sky had been dark all day, the sidewalks outside are flooded, and there was much less happiness as people left the school to deal with getting home in the downpour.
It leaves the school mostly empty, the hallways quiet save for the brush of a mop pushed by Edward the janitor. Some teachers are in their classrooms and working on their lesson plans. But the gym is also open, often left that way with its proximity to the library. Sometimes students will be in there, working on homework, studying...
Or someone like Alexander Aaron lying spraaaawled on a bleacher with his backpack beside him, and a large book held in his hands above his head, nearly to the end of it but he seems intent on getting through the last few chapters.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney was new. Would be new. It was still one of those things she wasn't overly pleased about, attending school, but after speaking with Logan and Laura about attempting a normal life it seemed as if it would be something to make them happy. Even if she had absolutely NO desire to attend classes. She'd learned enough in her life hadn't she? Still, here she was toward the end of day walking the halls of the school with the pamphlets and new student orientation materials in hand looking just a little lost. The map was on par with most school maps--Not great. It got her around well enough at least.

The library was glanced at before she shrugs and turns away toward the gym. This at least was more up her alley. Already she was envisioning what she expected a gym to look like: Euipment, machines, ropes from the ceiling, trampolines, maybe even an obstacle course.

That was not what she found.

The door thumps shut heavily behind her causing her to start just a little as she tips her head up to regard the ceiling height, then the rest of it, with a curious gaze. She looked pretty normal for the most part: Jeans, sneakers, a hoodie. All regular attire. It was just the scars on her face that made her look anything like a normal kid.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The book lifted in his hands a bit and Alexander looked across the way at Gabby, upside down still lying on his back. His eyebrows lift/lower as he tilts his head curiously before he makes a small sound of, "Hnh." The book closes with a slight /whumpf/ as he pulls one hand off of it to give her a wave.
"Heya, yah the door closes unless you hit the thing." And as he says that oh so helpfully he points to the top of the door where there's a switch that...
Someone of her height couldn't possibly reach.
So he sets the book down, and rolls to his feet with deceptive ease, hopping off the side of the bleachers with a /wham/ of both sneakers hitting the ground, then rises to his full height. And... alright he's got a sort of vague cuteness going on what with the half-smile and the blond hair that really needs to get out of his eyes. But his clothes are a little big for him, blue jeans could be a size smaller. And that black t-shirt with the words, 'AVENGERS: The Musical!' emblazoned brightly under the big A logo could definitely stand to actually fit him.
But then he strolls over and pushes the door open, hopping up a few times to hit the switch to keep the door open.
    "There, voila."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney glances back to the door when Alex speaks up about the button. "Oooh," she lets out with a single nod even as she tries to gauge if she could jump that high. She might be able to but she'd have to get a running start. Even as she's considering this, she hears footsteps approach and glances back toward him to watch when he hits it. A warm grin splits her face in response. "Thanks. I'm kind of on the vertically challenged committe," she points out obviously before her eyes focus on his shirt.

"Was there actually an Avengers musical? That'd be awesome!" Distracted by that though she shakes her head a single time to get her thoughts back on track. "Ah, I'm Gabby. Kind of new here. Just was looking around while I had the chance. Thanks for getting the door for me."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
She was now living at this school. It had some seriously weird rules and already she's had to make some changes to herself to fit in with them. She has on glasses and she's bulked up her clothing just a bit. She was seeing where she could go and what she could see at the school. So, now she's made it to the gymnasium. She steps in quietly, tilting her head a little as she walks in and letting out a hmm as she looks over the place. She spots Gabby and smiles like her before looking over to Alexander.

"Hey." She states simply to the pair and then looks around before nodding her head, "Found the gym I guess."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"What, no?" He denies that she might be of the smol variety, lifting a hand and waving it to the side, "Your feet reach the ground and all that." He offers that rejoinder even as he starts to walk back towards his spot on the bleachers, hands slipping into the pockets of his jeans as he strolls. Though he does pause when she asks that question.
"Oh yeah, heard it was great. Haven't seen it though. My dad thought it was hilarious." That said he hops up the lowest bleacher and takes a seat there, his backpack and book behind him as he looks across the way at her, "Sure thing, I remember it used to bug me too." Though as to the why he doesn't elaborate.
"I'm Alexander. And hello Gabby, are you a Freshman? Technically by the school's bylaws we are sworn enemies since I am a Senior." He nods once solemnly. But maybe she'll get the vibe he's not being entirely serious.
But then Naomi peeks in and she'll be greeted with a wave from the pair within. "Yah, s'where all the cool kids hang out. I'm Alex, this is The Gabby."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney follows after Alexander idly with her own hands still fiddling with the paperwork in hand as she moves to the bleachers as well. At least over here she was mostly out of the way and could still get a good look at the place. "They're deciding if I am or not based on my test scores, actually. I've been kind of home schooled for like, ever, so they want to see where my aptitudes lay." At least that's what she was told. When he mentions enemies she nods solemnly in understanding with that lopsided grin of hers still there. "Ah, I see. We'll wage great wars then," she jokes.

Naomi's approach gets a brighter grin and one hand lifting to wave. Was waving cool? Damn. "Hi! Nice to meet you," she offers cheerily. "I'm still wandering around to get to know the layout myself."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A smile and she nods, "Yeah, I'm new here. I'm a senior but I kinda have to finish my schooling here." She shrugs, "Parents, moving, and all that." Naomi smiles and adjusts her glasses. They are new to her and not something she's used to wearing at all. She looks over toward Alexander and nods, "I see that. Obviously." She smiles at him before looking back to Gabby, "I won't be here long but I hope to enjoy my stay." She nods her head.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"So many wars, the greatest." Alexander says as he reaches back and grabs his book, setting it on his lap. The title of which being evident now and simply being, 'Guns, Germs, and Steel' written in black text on the red spine of the uncovered text.
"Think with the new semester we got new folks." He looks between them both, one eyebrow quirking as he considers the each in turn, "So you were homeschooled." He nods to Naomi, "Where did you go before this? And where are you off to?"
Before she can answer he offers up, "I have dibs on ESU, so you maaay have to choose somewhere else." He nods solemnly.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney flops down on the bleachers near Alex with her legs swinging from the plop. One ends up bent near her with foot planted on the bench part of the seat while the other still dangles. Her arms wrap lightly around her propped leg, and she rests her chin on her knee. "Yeah it seems like a nice place so far. I grew up with my sisters, but figure it's time to learn to socialize and all of that. Kinda lived in a reclusive place." She'll stick with that. "Well looks like you two will be seniors together then? I'm still waiting to hear back on my tests."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A look over to Alexander and she smiles, "Oregon." She nods her head, "And I really don't know. My life kinda got flipped on its head." She nods her head before shrugging, "You can have ESU." She laughs before looking over to Gabby and nodding, "Yeah, well, maybe you'll get Sophmore and not have to stay here as long?" She hmms and tilts her head.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Though socialization..." Alexander nods toward Naomi as he then looks sidelong towards Gabby. "Is nothing to sneeze at. I had a friend who was home-schooled and never went mainstream. He ended up making friends out of old nail clippings and hair." He gives a solemn steady nod, his expression entirely truthful. Or mostly at the least.
"But yah," He nods at Gabby, likely about him and Naomi being seniors together. "Do you have Mr. Jenkins 5th period?" He leans to the side and reeeeaches over for his backpack, unzipping it with the whir of its metal teeth and tossing his book inside there. "I thought you looked kinda familiar."
Whether or not that's true he pushes around the contents of his backpack a bit and then offers a stick of gum to either of them, "Gum?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"I know, I know," Gabby sighs with eyes rolling toward the ceiling. Oh. There was a rope. Maybe they did do rope climbing on occasion. "But it kinda sucks being told I have to stick to a school schedule now. Usually I'd just do my work, and when it's done I can do whatever. So long as it's not getting me in trouble," she adds with a rather broad grin. Oh she might get in trouble on occasion.

When Alex digs out some gum she 'oohs' softly and reaches for it to snag a piece. "Thanks! And yeah, I might be a Sophmore. I'll find out. I think I'm that age anyway? Fifteen?" OR sixteen. She was told to pick one though. The gum is unwrapped and popped into her mouth to start chewing with a hum. "Big place though, lots of people. Should be fun."

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
A smile and she takes some gum before looking over at Alexander and shrugs, "Maybe." She then looks over at Gabby with a blink, "You...don't know what age you are?" She asks and tilts her head, "That seems like a thing you should know." She then looks down and then hmms, "Wait...were you adopted? I mean, I was adopted so I kinda get it."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
When Gabby mentions she doesn't know how old she is, Alexander sort of shoots a look at Naomi briefly, but then doesn't press the issue. He nods and takes a stick of gum for himself, Juicy Fruit after all and proceeds to chew it a bit as he shifts his backpack towards his feet. There's a slight tilt of his head as he considers them each with a casual curiousity. "Alright, sophomores aren't as bad as Freshmen. So there may be peace between our two peoples."
At that he nods solemnly, as if some great proclamation had been passed. "So what do you guys do for fun? Or not so fun if it's your parental type units putting you up to it?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney chuckles with a shake of her head, "Not really, it's... There was a fire, and documents were lost. Unfortunately my dad didn't know about me until after so..." She spreads her hands helplessly at that. "When I ended up with him and my sisters, we just had to kind of estimate at best. It's not a big deal to me, really." Maaybe she shouldn't have brought that up. Probably. Planting her hands on the bench she pushes herself off to her feet again. "Welp. I'm getting bored sitting around so I'm going to go kick around a bit more before I have to head back home. Great meeting you both!"

Naomi McDuffie has posed:
"It was good meeting you, too, Gabby." She nods her head as she then looks over at Alexander and nods to him, "I think I'm heading out, too." She nods her head before shrugging, "Gotta figure out what I'll be doing for the day and probably focus on getting my room set up." She smiles and turns away, "See you both around."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Yeah, me too." Alexander nods towards Gabby as he rollson up to his feet and hops off the bleachers. His hands slip back into the pockets of his jeans and he starts to make his way to the door that's now standing open, testament to his ingenuity and knowledge of school workings.
Adjusting the hang of his backpack on his shoulder, he lifts a hand to wave to the others as he makes his way out.
