Synopsis: Kara Danvers shows up at the Parker house to pick up stuff, and drop a bomb. Oh, the CARNAGE...
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Kara Danvers

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter Parker checked the results from the mass spectrometer. They were the same. Steel-titanium alloy to resist damage. No other identifying markers. Someone must have built these 'bots in a clean room of some sort.

Aunt May and Peter had returned from church an hour ago, and Aunt May had been working on lunch since they got home. Egg-salad sandwiches, and maybe ice cream cones with homemade strawberry ice cream, if they were still hungry.

She worried about Peter. Ever since the breakup, he had thrown himself into his work. She hoped he would get out of his mood soon and start looking again. Then again, Supergirl was a hard act to follow...

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara had texted Peter ahead, to let him know they needed to talk. But she was careful on how she worded it. Nobody wants to see "we need to talk," in a text. <Something exciting to talk to you about. I'm on my way...>

And when she arrives, wearing a short pale blue sundress with a light sweater in variegated pastel colors, she knocks on the door, hoping his Aunt May won't think her unreasonable for inviting herself over. She rings the bell, and her sandals scuff lightly on the porch as she shifts a little uneasily and waits.

Peter Parker has posed:
The door opens, and Aunt May's eyes fall on Kara. She smiles and says, "Ah...you're that reporter, Miss Danvers? Peter said you might be coming by for a...a follow-up to the initial interview?" She opens the door wide. "Come in, come in. He's downstairs in the lab. Why don't you meet him down there? I'm making lunch." She winks. "No issue with egg-salad sandwiches, I trust?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
Going to visit Peter is apparently like going to a restaurant. Except the master chef meets you at the door and asks for approval of the menu. "Oh! That sounds fantastic! I didn't mean to put you out," Kara says as she pushes up her glasses and fusses with the loose braid of hair over her shoulder. "Yes, I needed to speak with him a little further. He is so....SO smart. And funny. And..." She blushes a little and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. "Well, I guess you already know all of that."

Peter Parker has posed:
Aunt May looks positively enchanted. "Nonsense, Kara. It's always wonderful to have guests, and the last few months, we have had some very interesting ones. I think Peter attracts people more these days, now that he's come out of his shell. But then again, decent people always do." She waved to the rear basement door. "Go on, go on...I'll call on the intercom with lunch is ready."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Thank you so much," Kara replies, as May ushers her off to the basement. She knocks lightly on the basement door and opens it a cracked to call inside. "Peeeeter? Are you deeecent?"

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter looks up and chuckles. "Yes, but some people say that's my problem. Come on down, Kara. Take a look at the newest care package that was delivered here."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara's blue eyes go wide. "Another package? No..." She sighs. "Peter."

She follows Peter downstairs and peers around the room cautiously. "That is kind of what I wanted to talk to you about..."

Peter Parker has posed:
The lab is its usual spotlessness. He has a box on one corner of the illuminated table. The rest of the table is separated into squares, each square holding a part of a machine. One square shows the shell of what looks like a Furby. If a Furby was built with the beak to open up like a metal flower. The tiny triangular buzzsaw rig is sitting on the table next to it.

Peter looks up from a sheet of paper from the mass spectrometer and smiles. "And my birthday isn't even until Feb. 8th."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Oh my God that was in the package??" Kara frowns and circles around one side of the table. Was is just going to...eat you? Or what?" She reaches out curiously to poke the Furby shell.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter points to a thin set of metal legs that would look at home on a velociraptor. "I think it was aimed to activate when Aunt May was home. Fortunately, I got here first and dumped it in a homemade Faraday cage for 24 hours. Let whoever it belonged to think it was destroyed or deactivated. Then I cut the power leads and dismantled it."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Well..." Kara begins, as she straightens back up and turns to Peter. "I needed to talk to you because...someone recognized the whole killer toy thing, and would...would kind of like a look at the data you've collected. And maybe the parts from that murder cupcake...and now this thing." She jerk a thumb toward the Fatal Furby (some assembly required). "If you'd be willing..."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smiles. "Well, when the most powerful blonde I know asks for help with something, HOW could I say no? Just let me enter the latest data I got and then put it all on a USB drive." He points to the box. "I got all the info I could get from those parts, so if you want to put them back in the box, you can take those with you as well."
He heads over to the computer desk and begins typing.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara trails behind Peter as he moves around, suddenly very quiet.

"Peter?" She asks, breaking her silence. "This could be really bad. And I need to talk to you about something that you can't...can't tell anyone about, yet...."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter stops and turns around. He takes one look at Kara's face and puts down the paper next to the computer.

She sounds serious...and also worried. And if SUPERGIRL is worried...

Peter steps closer to her, takes a deep breath. "You have my undivided attention."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara reaches out and takes Peter's hands in hers, and she looks him in the eyes. "Peter, the one who wants the information is...well, it's Superman. He recognizes the M.O. and says we need to stop this immediately. It is a serious threat." She watches Peter for his response to that little information overload.

Peter Parker has posed:
The one who wants the info is...Superman? Kara's got to be...

But Peter is, even at his densest, able to understand some concepts.
Kara has the rare opportunity to see Peter's brain strip a few mental gears as it all hits at once. His eyes go wide and shocked. His mouth opens...then closes...then opens again for a few seconds before closing again.

Peter gulps, then says, "...SUPERMAN'S ALIVE...?" in a low hiss of breath.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara nods gently, keeping eye contact with Peter. "He is alive...he is slowly, and by increments, beginning to contact other heroes and offer his help. And when he heard about what happened here...well he was worried about me. And worried just as much about Peter Parker. He was afraid Supergirl would bring danger down on him if they were publicly dating. He had asked me to find a way to protect you, before this whole thing happened."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter sighed softly. "Yeah. Did you tell him about the whole 'breakup' thing? I think this was sent out before it became public..."

He took a deep breath, then said, "Anything I can do, you got it. I swear."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara nods and looks down at Peter's hands in her own. "He knows about the breakup," she replies to Peter. "But he does not know who else you are. So he doesn't know the rest of it. I would not give away your identity. Not even to him. So he is going to be concerned about Peter having to handle these things. Hopefully that will be the last of them."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods. "...All right. But if you have to tell him at some point. I'm giving you permission to do so. Because he's SUPERMAN. If there's any person I feel I can trust, it's him." He looks to Kara's face. "I care about you, Kara Danvers."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"And I care about you, Peter. In every iteration. If Superman is nervous about this, then I think we both need to very careful. Hopefully he can shed some light on his past experience with the toymaker," she says with a resigned sigh.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter stops short. He peers at Kara for a few moments. "...Toymaker? THAT is what he, or she, is calling themselves?" He shakes his head. "Jeez...by the way, if either you or Supes calls me out on the villains I run into, I'm going to bring up this yutz. Fair warning."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara laughs. "I don't know what exactly they call themself, or what Superman calls them. It might BE the Toymaker. But in all fairness, they are, at this point, one who makes toys. Sort of."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nodded. "C'mon...you pack this junk up, I'll finish collating the new data, and then you can bring EVERYTHING to him. It may prove confusing to this Toymaker if the toys he sent just disappear." He squeezes her hands slightly, then releases then to head back to the computer and picking up the sheet of paper again. "I'll have that USB drive ready for you in a New York Minute."

Kara Danvers has posed:
"Thank you, Peter. The sooner we get this info to Superman, the sooner maybe we can come up with the and sooner than later "

Peter Parker has posed:
It actually takes about two minutes, but Peter finally exports all the data and copies it to a USB drive. Pictures, scans, everything.

At the sound of the beep, Peter slides the UEB thumb drive out of the computer, handing it to Kara with a slight bow. He notices she has everything packed away neatly.

"Here you go. After you get everything you need, then bring the parts back so I can melt them down. I have a better design for the 'shooters, but they need stronger and lighter metal. I should be able to melt them down."
