Scrapyard Rendezvous
Date of Scene: 10 November 2021
Location: King's Landing Scrap Yard
Synopsis: Gwen discovers Demona's been brought back to life! And...also that her van is gone...
Cast of Characters: Susan Sullivan, Gwen Stacy

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Demona had been curiously absent from the city for a little while. Her van wasn't showing up anywhere, either. It wasn't clear exactly what had happened to it, as it couldn't be found even on security footage. Now, Demona's presence was shown once more, but her van was neither inside nor outside the scrap yard. In addition, anyone who looked at her would not see Demona, but rather a living woman with a shaved head.
The woman was dressed for unseasonably warm weather that the current temperatures just didn't line up with. She had on what looked like parachute pants, cloth shoes, a sports bra, and a sleeveless, gi-like top that was open down the sides to nearly her waist and flowed beyond a black martial artist's belt to her knees. She looked like she was wearing high vis stuff, as her whole outfit was brilliant orange.
The woman was holding what looked like a store-bought, wooden dowel. She wielded it like a quarterstaff as she moved in practiced gestures, alternating between quick and slow. The martial arts stances were mixed with unusual flair. For example, instead of just standing on one foot, she would stand on one foot...on point, like a ballerina.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Crime-fighting in New York can get busy. Specially to college students needing to actually study for their exams! Yet Gwen had slipped in a bit of time to go out and about as Ghost Spider, swinging over rooftops, following the track of her danger sense when it 'buzzed' in. It was also a good activity to put her mind out of other things. Because nothing like beating up thugs to put her mind off her own troubles.

Life of a superhero!

It's dusk now, and Gwen is going by the courtyard when her HUD lights up. A known figure inside but .., she can't detect it on the security. Nor was the van. Curious. So taking a detour Gwen swings in, landing on a pile of scrap in a silent, practiced manner, long legs extended and her ballerina shoes moving in a graceful manner as she descends, slowly.

"Where is Demona?" Nothing like going straight to the point.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
The shaved human shifts quickly, snapping the dowel upright, then letting it fall with a hollow sound before quickly climbing it like it was affixed to the ground. Balancing atop it, she brings her left knee up to place the sole of her left foot on her inner thigh near her hips. She stands now at eye-level with the spiderling atop the scrap.
"Hello, Ghost Spider," she says, not quite identifying herself, yet.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Yes, everyone knows my name. Thank you. It doesn't particularly answer my question but ..." And Ghost Spider reaches up to her mask, perhaps adjusting a setting on the HUD. "Voice somewhat different but follows the same patterns. A bit different though. No pointed ears is a plus. Not sure if the shaved hair is my thing..." she does like her resplendent blond hair after all.

She jumps from the scrapyard, a flip and she is on the ground, feet and hands like a spider before she pushes herself up to approach.

"Just missing the blanket."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"I am cheating just a bit," the woman says. The dowel flips up, pivoting at her foot to meet her hand. She slowly floats to the ground like a balloon. Her clothes billow in microgravity before gravity takes them when her feet are on the ground. "I don't have to worry about falling," she concludes.
"So," she nearly interrupts herself, leaning on the staff like the monkey king, "we know each other's made-up names. We're both in GIRL. You've got me at quite a disadvantage."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Figured." A smirk under the mask, Gwen watching the other float down with the TK, arms folding together. "At a disadvantage though?" that makes Gwen cant her head to the side, thoughtful.

"You just appeared fully different than before without me even knowing how! A transformation of some kind? You don't seem particularly affected by it..." She comments, "Not sure how that would make you be at a disadvantage.." she then finally murmurs, hands resting on her hips.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
A familiar force moves Gwen's left arm toward the other. The woman once-Demona reaches out quite calmly and takes Gwen's hand by the wrist. She moves forward and guides Gwen's fingers to her neck, placing them against a vein. The subtle movements of a pulse are there. "I live," she points out.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
A brow quirks up under the mask, then she smiles faintly at feeling the pulse on the other woman's neck. "I see a lot has changed then.." she does sound just a touch confused though. "I thought there was a curse on you though. You will have to tell me on how it all happened." a beat, "... Considering I am the resident GIRL geneticist I want to know all about that."

Her hand comes back, she folding her arms together, thoughtful. "And what about the van?"

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Demona bows her head and sighs. "Unfortunately, that was the price I paid for the breath of life." She looks genuinely sad as she talks of it. "My whole life was wrapped up in that van. Old life for new, I suppose." She looks up at Gwen. "Genetically, you were never going to get much information out of me, though. I'm just human." She smiles. "Though, a bit more Disney Princess than most."

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"So you say.." About only being human. Gwen then continues, "There's a lot genetics can pluck out and help understand. You are able to use telekinetic powers, and who knows what else." a shrug, "That doesn't just come by magic or twinkling fingers."

"There is always a scientific explanation for most things. As for *how* you'd be able to trade your ..., van.., for being alive again? I am not sure." she then giving it a thought. "But I am guessing this is more like a metaphor to letting your old self go and embracing the new than anything else. Hope this didn't involve deals with the devil or anything like that..."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
The short-haired human huffs out a sigh. "Me, too," she admits. She stretches a bit and says, "Hey, can we maybe not freak me out about what is done and can't be changed, here?"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
"Well, it -is- a big change, so you can't hope for people not to talk of it, right?" A laugh escaping the hooded Gwen and she shaking her head a little, "Unless this is a normal thing where you come from! But not here in New York.." a beat, "And let me tell you, I have -seen- things.." ominous voice. Or jesting one?

"But well, questions can wait. Do you have a new name to go with it too? Or keeping Demona?" She inquires, letting out a sigh.

"And after all the trouble we went to fixing your van again! Mairin won't be happy. Or well, I am sure she will be happy that you are alive."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Can we PLEASE stop dancing around this?" 'Demona' says. "I /know/ Peter, you and I are /both/ in GIRL, and you /continue/ to play this game. Message me it if you want, but I'm quite tired of asking who you are. Until you answer, I will not." She kicks the side of her staff out. It flips up as the top falls down. With another kick of her opposite foot, she 'catches' it, kicking it when it's level. She then hops up and into a seated position on the floating stick...like ANY of that was necessary. She folds her arms stubornly.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
The pressing has Gwen pause, a frown under the mask and she takes a step back. "I wear this mask for a reason besides it looking awesome." she tells the other, her tone gaining just the faintest of edges, "And while I don't know why Peter has revealed himself I can't just do so, at least not yet." she admits, tone appearing to stress the importance of it, "It's for your safety, as well as mine."

It's not like she can explain the danger in which her and her family is in right now so she just adds, "I hope you can understand why I can't do so right now.."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Smelled Peter's qi under his mask," Demona says. "Unless you always wear that mask at GIRL, I'm bound to find you." She pulls the staff from under herself and lowers her feet to the ground, in that order. "But whatever. When I know you, you will then know me." She bows low, giving the dowel a spin. "For now, I think I should get back to training, my spidery friend."
