Security SNAFUs
Date of Scene: 14 November 2021
Location: Lobby - GIRL Headquarters
Synopsis: Resurrection induced security issues cause some problems for Susan.
Cast of Characters: Susan Sullivan, Nadia Pym-van Dyne, Natasha Romanoff

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan has all the normal security things she usually has. She hasn't been back since that singular heartbeat and bioenergy variations from baseline made the security guard have to continually re-start the scan. Now, she doesn't even look like herself. The human girl bears little resemblance to Demona, yet she confidently walks up to the security desk. "Hi," she says with a smile. "I need my bioscan whatever updated. I've had a bit of a change." She offers over the device Nadia gave her to stop her being undead from setting off something.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
One of the pair of PymTech Security guards stationed out in front of the security checkpoint takes the device from Susan, looking her up and down. "Where did you get this?" He asks holding up the device Susan handed him. The preliminary door scanners detected a wholely human individual and she doesn't match facial recognition records, so the guards are naturally wondering just /who/ she is and why she has Demona's bracelet. "Please identify yourself, we're going to need to see some ID."

The other security guard's hand moves slowly towards something in his belt. Wouldn't be the first time this place has been attacked after all. The member of GIRL's internal security staff at the desk beyond the checkpoint stands up, too.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Nadia gave it to me," Susan says. She is very slow and deliberate with her movements as she pulls a wallet from her pocket. She holds it up so the man can see her ID. "It's a shame I didn't get more into the DNA scans, or you could easily scan that and verify I am who I claim to be," she says. She looks between the guards and mostly at the belt-grabbing. "Look, I'm not even asking to be let in. I'm asking to get myself re-verified. I promise you, you don't want to attack me."

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
The security guard not questioning Susan makes a pointed glance towards the member of GIRL's internal security and a small nod is exchanged before she picks up the phone on her desk.

"Susan Sullivan." The guard checking her ID notes out loud for the benefit of others. "This matches the information on file for the owner of this bracelet. Can you explain for us this sudden shift. We get a lot of weird stuff around here, but the dead returning to life is still new."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan calms slightly as conversation becomes the primary focus. She slides her wallet away and says, "Divine Intervention, or as near as I can tell. Powerful, extradimensional interference restarting my biorhythms. I don't know how to explain it. I'm an engineer, not a doctor."

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
'Divine Intervention' is entered into a tablet followed by 'Extra-dimensional entity likely masquerading as a god. "Right. Of course. And how did you come by this extra-dimensional assistance? That's fine, we have doctors on staff for this sort of thing." The guard has kind of a seen it all tone as he takes down the information. Divine intervention may be new but it's not like Hank Pym himself hasn't needed to be rescued from another dimension where he was being held prisoner before.

In the background the female member of GIRL security continues talking quietly on the phone with someone.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha has seen many incredible and absurd things over her long life; though at a much faster rate in the last decade or so. She wasn't necessarily *expecting* an undead foreigner to associate with the base, and then spontaneously change appearance and become pre-humous...

But she isn't caught off guard by it, either.

"-a *literal* crucifix." One might hear her voice drift into range as she moves closer with a mobile phone to her ear. "It's in the bottom drawer. Just *hold* it. Yes. No. I'm right here."

A moment later Natasha steps into view and eyes Susan coldly. She then, briefly, squints at the nearby guard on the phone, as Natasha hangs up her call, then looks back to Susan. "... I don't recall verifying a Susan Sullivan in the first place."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
"Nadia did," Susan says. She doesn't recognize Natasha, but she leans like Willy Wonka against the security desk, smirking at the production of a crucifix. "Someone didn't do her research," she says with a smile.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha's expression does not change, her cold blue eyes burrowing into Susan, unimpressed with her smug demeanor. "I do plenty of research. But information on certain subjects is conflicting so we keep a wide variety of options available to us here. For example." On cue, two panels above them open up and produce a pair of attack-chopper style miniguns that direct themselves at Susan. The barrels beginn spinning.

Natasha's face, and the cold inflection of her voice, remain the same. "See yourself off the premise, pending further research."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan looks at the guns. "That changes things," she admits, largely to herself. She turns back to Natasha. "I don't think I'll come back, if it's all the same to you," she says. "Good day." She turns and walks back to the door, leaving without another word.

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
There is a sound from the elevators at the back as the doors slide open and out steps a young woman with short brown hair wearing a lab coat over street clothes. Eyes go left, then right, and then up at the miniguns, "Those are new, did we budget those?" And then back to the tense scene unfolding in the lobby. "Uh guys? What's going on here?" Asks Nadia.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan walks past Nadia. "I was just leaving," she says. She begins putting on her cold weather gear as she nears the elevator.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha doesn't look at Nadia, but she does speak to Nadia. "Someone's claiming your vampire friend has changed faces."

Natasha's eyes slowly shift to Nadia. "You've also yet to tell me about your vampire friend, Malyshka."

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia too peers at the young woman with the unfamiliar face, "Wait, that's Demona?" And then she is looking at her back as Demona is leaving. "Wait, don't go! So, you're alive now? How'd that happen? Don't worry, pointing guns at people is just a thing Nat does. When I first showed up at Avenger's mansion she pointed way more guns than this at me." Nadia is perhaps a little too okay with the casual use of heavy artillery, but then she's not exactly a normal girl.

"Oh, did I forget to mention that?" Nadia holds the back of her head with a nervous laugh as she looks at Nat, like a teenager caught sneaking in after curfew.

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan turns and looks at Nadia. "Why do you have guns?" she asks, avoiding all the questions about her coming back to life. "Look at those things," she says, gesturing back at the weapons currently aimed at her. "That's not subtle. Those don't scream technological superiority or think tank or lab. Those are large caliber, rotating, rapid-fire machine guns. I am a Disney Princess," she concludes. "Disney Princesses use their wits and natural abilities to overcome danger. Even Mulan overcame with fireworks, not her sword." She shakes her head. "I don't want to hide behind guns," she says. "Even with Hulks on the loose." She stuffs her hands into her pockets. "If you'll excuse me," she says.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha gives Nadia a bit of a Look, but to Susan, she just shakes her head slightly. "I'm not here to be witty and idealistic. I was hired to keep the greatest minds of a generation alive long enough to reach their potential, in a world that gets invaded by intergalactic conquerors five times a decade between attacks from literal *gods.* When somebody builds a subtle way to deal with those, I'll install it."

Nadia Pym-van Dyne has posed:
Nadia blinks several times at Demona's Disney Princess speech and not just because she has absolutely no idea who or what a Mulan is. "We have technology here that could literally put the entire world in danger if it fell into the wrong hands and there are powers that would love to get their hands on it, these guns? They're nothing compared to what we have faced in the past. We have literally been attacked by superpowered child abducting terrorists from the 31st Century who managed to waltz past almost all of our security systems as it was. If you aren't comfortable with the basic defenses required to keep everyone who works here safe, I really don't know what to tell you. But I'm also not going to force you to be somewhere you're uncomfortable either."

Susan Sullivan has posed:
Susan huffs out a sigh. "You two figure out me and my security clearance," she says. "If you want weapons to stop big threats, I've got ideas. Big, powerful, Superman-ending, subtle ideas. That's what we are, right? A think tank?" She looks at Natasha. "I'm sorry, Miss," she says. "I know you told me to leave. I'm going. I'm sorry for taking so long." She turns back to Nadia and walks backwards. "Text me. We'll meet somewhere neutral and talk. For now, this nice lady asked me to leave. If you'll excuse me." She then turns and pushes her way out the door.
