Welcome to the Moon
Date of Scene: 15 November 2021
Location: Observation Deck - Watchtower
Synopsis: Diana starts her tour of the Solar System for one Lara Croft.
Cast of Characters: Diana Prince, Lara Croft

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana had invited Lara on a trip. A trip not like any other she'd gone on before, which is tough considering how well travelled Miss Croft is!

The invite had been. To space.

Firstly she'd have to arrive at the Embassy though, where she would meet Diana who would escort her to the roof where she would introduce Lady Croft to the Invisible Jet. A bit of explaining was in order there, telling Lara of the story of how she came across this 'second generation' version of her Jet. The first had been an actual Jet made by Howard Stark, who made it for the US Military but decided it was too powerful for them. He gave it to his friend, Diana, in the 60s. Back then Diana hadn't mastered her ability of personal flight, so the Jet had come in handy for quite some time until she did learn how to fly herself around in the later years of the 1900s.

This Jet, however, is purely manifested from a strange alien technology. It was a gift for her help in saving a Princess from another species that happened to bring their fight to Earth back in the early 2ks...

Lara and Diana would then board the Jet and find themselves in a yacht-like atmosphere of pale white furniture and see-thru walls that looked out on the city of New York, and soon the sky there-after as they left the Embassy roof and proceeded toward the clouds.

Diana, at the helm of holo graphic controls, would explain that this jet works on its own gravitational field so it defies the laws of Earth's physics to propel itself. She explains that its speed is so great she's never actually tested how fast it can actually max out at...

The ride in to space is smooth, calm even as the Jet doesn't make a lick of noise while inside it. It just glides up in to the blue atmosphere until that blue faded to black.

And then there were stars. Endless stars.

First stop was the Justice League Moon Base however, 'The Watchtower'.

They arrived and are now touring the corridors. Diana is in her Amazon armor with a blue cloak over her shoulders, her dark hair is loose as the cloak waves about her body while she walks beside Lara toward the observation deck.

"We put this together as a way to help watch over Earth from afar. To have advanced notice of any would-be threats coming from other solar systems. So far it has achieved that goal quite well, too, especially in the recent Shi'ar situation..." The Princess says.

Lara Croft has posed:
"You'd think I'd have taken more interest in the Shi'ar situation," Lara says, very distracted by everything new she had been seeing the whole trip. Every window they passed was a temptation to gaze out at the moon's pale surface. Every step was a distraction as she bounced around. The joy on her face was palpable, despite her best efforts to hide it. She was, as most people would be, reduced to a giddy child playing. She was, after all, on the moon.
"It seems," Lara manages, "that life goes on. People don't talk around the water cooler about amazing things." She bounds, jumping as high as she can to try to touch the ceiling as she tries to hold a conversation. She kicks off the ground, then wall jumps touching the high ceiling with energy to spare, just about bumping her head, were it not for both her hands coming up to absorb the impact. She falls with not much incident before saying, "They talk about what was on the telly or renovating their flat." She uses her vast knowledge of space--namely snippets third hand or farther of interviews of lunar astronauts--to bunny-hop along.
Lara is filled with many questions. She wants to ask if those who can fly, like Superman, fly here. She also pulls out her phone and takes so many pictures of anything Wonder Woman will allow her to photograph. I mean...the moon is not a secret, right?

Diana Prince has posed:
As they pass through the windowed corridor, Diana just remains mostly non-exuberant like Lara, but she's been up here quite a lot and experienced space for many years now. She does watch the young woman and grin happily at her mannerisms. She will reach out to help steady her too as the low-gravity corridor continues onward toward the main observation deck.

"Feel free to take all the photos you want. Videos too. Share them across your social media, so on and so forth. This is the public area of the Watchtower and we try to bring as many people up here as we are able to." Diana explains as they progress down the corridor further.

The view here is spectacular. Naturally.

"I can turn the Artificial Gravity back on if you would like a more typical experience too... but, yes, I know how fun it can be, to be sure. I have had the honor of being in space quite a lot now." She says as they reach a intersection in the corridor.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara does as she's told, videoing everything and definitely looking like she wishes she had a bigger, better camera to document it all than just her phone. This deserved 8k or maybe even better. "There's so much I thought was just science fantasy for so long," Lara admits as she takes a panoramic photo of the whole lunar horizon. "Artificial gravity, energy shields, aliens." She concludes the panorama and watches it get generated by her phone's processor. "I thought Area-51 in America was just an aircraft test facility," she admits. She looks back to her footprint on the wall. She bites her lip a bit with some anticipation. She holds her phone out. "Would you take a video of me touching the ceiling? I normally don't flaunt myself or my abilities in videos, but I feel like that's a good way to show that I'm actually on the moon, and it's not a trick or CGI."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana doesn't seem to be dealing with the low-gravity setting that the corridor is on right now, but that is likely due to her own abilities. She pauses to watch Lara record her videos and smiles at the sight of it. When the phone is offered, the Princess reaches out with her leather wrapped hands. "Yes, of course." She says as she takes the device and gives it a once-over to familiarize herself with it. "Well. Much of the technology here is not created by Earth scientists. Much of it comes from the League's exploration of the stars, and our contacts we've made there-in. We do want to support Earth science with this outpost though, which is why an entire section is devoted to Earth science representitives being aboard..."

After saying all of that, Diana lines the phone up with the young archaeologist and smiles at her. "Okay. We are recording..." She says in her non-American accented English. "We are indeed on the moon, for those of you watching. And this is indeed Lady Lara Croft enjoying some low gravity hijinx..." The Themysciran says with happiness on her voice.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara does a quarter-circle's path toward the wall, already getting a good feel for how to move comfortably in moon gravity. She approaches at as close to a run as she can get. She jumps then bounds off the wall again, touching the ceiling with both hands and doing something resembling an ice skater's spin on the way down. She bends her knees and extends her arms to the sides as she lands before standing facing Wonder Woman. She beams and poses like a gymnast who has just completed their routine. She smiles and bunny-hops to Diana, holding out her hand for the phone. "This is more fun than I expected," she admits.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana keeps tracking the acrobatic young woman with the phone, she watches the display of skill and lunar adjustment with wide eyes and a bubbly light laugh at the performance. "Well done..." Diana says with a nod of her head as she hands the phone back and then offers light applause with her palms wrapped in the leather of her typical 'work clothes'.

"You are adjusting nicely to life up here, it seems." Diana says with that happy edge to her voice and a smile still showing. "Maybe you were born to be an astronaut instead." She states then with a grin toward the other. "I would offer a expedition out on to the surface itself. But that requires some time spent in a bit of suit training first..."

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara smiles at the compliment. She looks outside and touches the tinted glass. "It's every child's dream to go into space," she generalizes. She sounds almost wistful as she speaks. "Ever since I became aware of the reality of alien cultures, I've wanted to see their ruins. Breathe their air. Have something from far-off worlds." She takes a step back from the glass, shifting her weight as she realizes how she must sound. "This is truly an exciting experience," she says, "and I want to thank you profusely for bringing me here, Diana."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana steps over to the glass as well, both of their faces reflected in it. The Princess looks over to the other and just smiles softly to her. "It is just the beginning." She says with a sly grin. "We still have yet to visit all the planets in the solar system. Let alone find time to travel to another. Just wait." She says as she turns around to start to walk again deeper in to the station. She looks back over her shoulder. "Europa is truly mind blowing." She says of the famous moon of Jupiter. "Let alone the rings of Saturn up close."

"But, since we started this trip early in the day, I thought I might offer you lunch while we were here." She says as she reaches one of the doorways that leads in to a dining hall. "If you would like, of course. We have a great selection of food options here too. Several of the League's members cannot /stand/ to live without their sushi for instance." She says with a big grin.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara smiles broadly as promise of a close-up tour of the solar system is offered to her. She looks at Diana. "one moment," she says. She bunny-hops to the wall she kicked off of twice and takes a picture of her footprints. She then follows Diana with a smile on her face. "I'm excited for food on the moon and anything farther out," she says. "Do you think I might be able to get some cultural nick-knack from some other world?"

Diana Prince has posed:
The gravity balances back out to a Earth-like level after the two women pass out of the corridor, the leaves on the potted-plants settle down a bit as a result. The question is asked of Diana and she laughs softly as they move in to the dining hall area that is well furnished, with leather sofas and chairs in one corner and tables with comfortable seating.

"Yes, of course. We can grab you something from every planet if you would like. Even poor Pluto way way out there..." She says with a quick smile as she walks to the windows and keys them to show the view. "And here is the look back to Earth."

The little blue marble sitting off in the distance. "Only two hundred and thirty thousand miles away..." Diana says in a soft tone of her voice as she views it herself for a moment.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara had gotten the Earth in her panorama, but takes another where it's front and center. She doesn't look disappointed by the increased gravity. "That would be quite the item to sell on Earth," she says as she walks normally to where Diana is. "A set of stones from all across the Solar System." She pockets her phone. "At least until they become common." She looks back out at the Earth.
Looking around at the moon's surface, she turns and looks at the hyper-advanced tourist destination for the luckiest scientists from her homeworld. She turns back and looks out again, viewing the orb that spins imperceptibly slowly before her. "I'm in space," she says. "I'm on the moon," she continues. She bounces a few times in place, feeling the gravity. "I'm in an artificial gravity field on the moon!" she speaks out. She looks at Diana. "I am standing with Wonder Woman in an alien artificial gravity field on the bloody moon," she swears, albeit half-heartedly. She raises her eyebrows and looks back out at Earth. "What is my life, right now?" she asks. She puts her hand on the glass analogue. "I know so many girls would kill to be in my shoes. I am incredibly fortunate. Yet that view of Earth makes me feel smaller than I've ever felt."

Diana Prince has posed:
Throughout Lara's questioning of her situation, Diana watches and looks from the woman to the window and back again. She shows another smile at her and then another look given back to the distant Earth. "Yes, it has that effect. It really draws in to question why we have been such a fragmented people our entire history, especially after learning so much about how fragile our home really is." She looks back to Lara then and smiles a little softer then.

"But, we are progressing. As a society. If... a bit slower than some might wish..." She turns away from the window then, to leave Lara to view further if she'd like. Diana approaches one of the tables and keys on the display screen at its center. She pulls up the menu for the station food services and removes her outer robe to drape it over the back of one of the chairs. "You have live a unique life, from all accounts, Lara. But you have put a lot of effort in to being where you are. I think your life, leading up to this experience, is a result of good decision making on your part." The Princess says with a held soft smile as she sits down on the edge of the chair she pulled out.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara considers the compliment for a few moments of earth-gazing. She turns without comment and moves to the table to sit down across from Diana. "I think I need some food in me. I'm beginning to feel far smaller than I think might be appropriate."
