Title Yet To Come
Date of Scene: 29 November 2021
Location: Warren's Penthouse
Synopsis: Warren returns and a late Thanksgiving is planned
Cast of Characters: Warren Worthington, Kitty Pryde

Warren Worthington has posed:
It's been happening more and more often, Warren being called away on business trips that take him out of New York and transport him across the globe. The elevator dings as Warren makes his way back into the penthouse via the traditional means, dropping his coat off at the rack and padding quietly towards the couch by way of the wet bar.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Something is different in the penthouse. A lot of somethings actually. Noticeable from when he first emerged off the elevator are the decorations. Garlands of holly, runs of tinsel along the stair railings, and knickknacks that are appropriate for Christmas, Hanukah, or just general feel-good holiday time.

There is an extra helping of angelic-themed decorations, particularly ones with male angles with beautiful white wings. There's also a large Christmas tree in the corner, though as yet undecorated. A few boxes are set nearby with decorations.

Kitty comes to the upstairs railing, peering down after her phone beeped that the elevator had arrived at the penthouse. "Warren!" she says happily, vaulting over the railing and falling to the ground, sinking a foot or two into the ground before she's stopped herself and steps back up onto the floor. She hurries over to him to throw her arms around him. "Welcome home!"

Warren Worthington has posed:
Looks up as Kitty calls his name, and by the look on his face it might also be the first time his weary eyes register the decorations of the penthouse. He blinks, catching the hugging woman in a one-armed side hug as he preps his drink with the other, "Hey you....you have been busy." He chuckles, shaking his head, "Is it really that time of year again? Already? Where has the time gone?!"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Times flies when we're having fun," she says, and if her expression wasn't already enough to make Warren feel welcome and tell him that she missed him, the tightness of her hug would convey those messages.

She lets him go, though stays there against him. "I've got a Thanksgiving meal prepped, just need time to thaw the turkey. Like a full meal. That I'm planning to cook. No takeout," she promises. "I did a practice run, and no one died. Only needed a single fire engine in response," she jokes.

She looks at his glass and says, "Though if you want that can wait until tomorrow, and we can just drink our selves silly tonight?"

Warren Worthington has posed:
Looking down to Kitty, Warren arches a brow. "You? Cooked? And everyone lived?" He reaches up and combs his fingers through his blonde hair with a smirk, "Ok, what timestream did I fly through and how do I get back to mine?" He winks, "And if you haven't thawed the turkey yet, it's going to be a couple days dear. Those things take days to thaw...unless you dunk it in water.." He shrugs, "I'm game for whatever, though. I just need to park my ass on something that isn't a plane seat. After that, I'm up for whatever you want to throw my way."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Oh, I didn't know it took so long," she says. "I had a fresh one, but threw it in the freezer when you weren't able to make it back for Thanksgiving," she tells him. "Well, let me go start it soaking then," she tells him. "Why don't you pour me a drink of something and we can sit and watch the snow fall.

Indeed, the cloudy skies outside are giving way to snow flurries, the white stuff drifting down around the skyscrapers that the enormous floor to ceiling windows give such a great view of. Kitty heads off to the kitchen to get the turkey started thawing so it can be cooked tomorrow.

Upstairs, Lockheed comes winging over the railing and heading down, having woken up at hearing the voices. He glides down, flapping excitedly around Warren before landing on the bigger winged person's shoulder to nuzzle his head against the man.

Warren Worthington has posed:
Laughing, Warren fixes another drink for Kitty then makes his way over towards the couch to flop down onto it. "Well, if you are going to dunk it in water then it will only be a few hours to thaw. Then a few to cook...so we will eat it sometime today." He grins, amused as he stretches out on the couch, "I'm sure it will be delicious." he says while already getting the to go order ready at the deli downstairs on his phone.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty comes back in. "Well, we can thaw it today and then either cook it tonight, or save it for tomorrow after you've had an evening to destress. Your pick," she says. She moves over to Warren, reaching down to phase his shoes and socks off and help him get comfortable.

Then she takes the drink that Warren prepared for her, and settles down against the handsome blond man, careful not to sit on his wings in an uncomfortable way. "Missed you so much," she says, giving a happy sigh that Warren is back now.

"Missed a good time at the school. Mom helped me make latkes via video chat. They turned out pretty well with her directing things," she tells him. The young woman takes a sip of her drink and then rests her head on Warren's shoulder as she looks out at the picturesque view. "They have having the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller son too," she says."

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Well, your Mom's latkes are the best so how could it go wrong?" admits Warren with a grin as Kitty settles in. "I can't believe it is the holidays again, I really can't. I can't have been another year already. I'm getting so old." He passes over the phone to Kitty, letting her take it to place an order. "We will have to go to the plaza then, see if I can't get us a good place to watch the lighting. How is everyone? Mansion still standing? No sentinels have come and blown it to hell this last week?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde takes the phone when offered, placing their order (a pair of French dips on pretzel rolls, fruit and homemade sour crisps, with two orders of cheesecake topped with berry sauce for dessert), and then setting the phone aside.

"Mansion is still there. The Professor had some friends over and they had a stirring intellectual discussion over cigars," she says with a wry smile. "Jubilee is... still a vampire. And apparently enjoying it. I think people are being supportive, which is good."

Kitty nestles her head back against Warren's shoulder again, turning her head to brush a small kiss to his cheek. "Mom's doing well. Dad I haven't heard from in a little bit. I think maybe he decided he needed to get off the grid for awhile, though surprised he didn't tell me if so," she says. The Yakuza still hunting him, the reason he'd moved to Genosha in the first place.

"So time for the important stuff. What do you want for Christmas?" Kitty asks with a grin.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"You've met me, right? Do I look like I need anything for Christmas, Kitty? I'm happy with what I have. The only thing I could possibly ask for would be some time off so I didn't have to cross the globe every other week. I swear I need to get Hank to just build me a teleporter or something." Warren says with a sigh as he settles into the couch, "I've already got you, what else do I need?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Check. You want me for Christmas," Kitty teases. She runs a hand over Warren's muscular shoulder and down his arm. "I think I can probably arrange something there," she tells him. "Well, you are the boss. You could always just, take some time off. Do you have someone that you trust, that you can groom to take on more of the work?" she asks.

Kitty picks her drink back up and takes a sip. "Ooo. Strong," she says of the rum and Coke. She sets it back down and resnuggles in against Warren. Lockheed trots over to the couch, hopping up and moving to rest in their laps.

The little dragon is given soft scritches by Kitty, though her attention is on Warren. "I'll have to make sure the time you do get at home is extra relaxing. Or, if not relaxing, enjoyable," she says. There's a little gleam in her eye at that last part.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"You know me kit, I'm a hands on kind of guy. If I can do it, I do it. I try not to delegate things unless I really have to." Warren says with a sigh, lifting his drink to his lips and taking a sip. His seems to be more rum than coke. "As far as everything else, you already do. Doesn't have to be the holidays." He smiles, leaning slightly to place his lips to her head. "How about you? Anything in particular you are wanting for Hanukah?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty muses on the question as she snuggles against the man. "Oh, you know me. Old Geek stuff is always a hit. Enroll in a Klingon class with me. Make some cosplay outfits. Fly in the cast of Firefly for an episode reenactment," she says, and after making the final joke, realizes it's just the kind of thing he might do if she joked about it.

"Well, what I mean is, just something that'll make me smile. I don't need anything big. I've got everything I could ever ask for right here," she tells Warren. She reaches up and caresses his cheek tenderly. "I was thinking we should do something really special for New Year's Eve though. I mean, our one year anniversary and all," she tells him. "Which, granted, could mean just staying in much like we did that night."

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren blinks, "Right..one year ago New Years. Why does it seem longer?" He lets out a little 'huh' sound from his throat and shakes his head, "It was so awkward for us that night...I wanted to do nothing more than just make out and smother you with kisses..among other things, but I was so...scared. You were so much younger than I am, and kind of like my sister." He shakes his head, "I'm glad you had the guts to at least make the first move. I don't know if I ever would have."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty turns over on her side more, facing Warren rather than away from him looking through the window. She brushes her fingertips over his face, caressing and slowly tracing the lines of features. "I was a little scared of rejection. I mean, all the reasons you just said," she says, looking down with a shy smile.

"But I just kind of had felt something when were together at the school. And you gave me my necklace," she says, reaching down and fingers touching the Star of David that Warren gave her. "I sort of thought you did too. But I was a little afraid of being wrong. One of those times it would have been nice to swap out Jean's power for mine to know for sure. Or, well. New Year's Eve was so lovely how it happened. I guess I wouldn't make that swap, knowing how it turned out," she says with a smile.

Kitty leans up and brushes her lips to Warren's, kissing him in a slow, deep, but tender kiss. When their lips part she sighs happily. "I do love you Warren. You were well worth the wait."

Warren Worthington has posed:
"I love you too, Kit." Warren says, smiling tenderly down at the young woman. He just stares at her for a while, pondering something. He opens his mouth to say something, but then shakes his head as he closes it again and just gives her a hug. "You with Jean's power might be a scary thing right now."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
The Jewish girl gazes up at Warren. "I think maybe I can just see it in your eyes," she tells him with a warm laugh. Another soft kiss is given, and Kitty hugs the larger man, snuggling in against his muscular body. "Maybe tonight we should go for another one of those flights to see the city," she says, calling back to the snowy flight that New Year's Eve night. "Though I can dress a little more appropriately this time," she adds with a soft laugh.

Kitty's head tilts to the side. "Sometimes I like to think that Storm was somehow behind that night. Brought in a blizzard to strand me in the city and all. Just wistful thinking," she says with a smile. "It's nice to know all of my friends are so happy with the man I've chosen to love," she tells him.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"You think so, huh?" questions Warren with a raised eyebrow. "Ok, Ms. Smartypants..if I am so easy to read you tell me what I was thinking, and I will give you an honest answer if you guess right or not." He pokes her playfully in the side, "We can go flying if you like, sure. Put you in a giant parka and bundle you up like the delicate little thing you are.." He grins.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde gives Warren back a mischievous smile. "Well, it was probably one of two things," she tells him. "You were thinking about how I make you feel, and how right your life feels with me. And thinking we're right together and we both know that enough to move ahead. But also knowing I'm going to keep loving you and there's no need to rush on my account," she tells him.

"Oooooor," Kitty says, "You're imagining a school girl outfit and... ah... Mr. Worthington! Those thoughts aren't decent for public consumption," she tells him with a warm laugh.

The younger woman scoops up her drink to take another sip. "Mmm, warming me on the inside while you warm the outside," she tells him, snuggling in against the man. "Lockheed, want to start up the fire?"

The little dragon climbs to his feet, flapping over to the fireplace which already has wood laid out in it. Lockheed breathes out a plume of fire, the wood quickly catching without any need for kindling.

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren blinks at Kitty as she gives out her answer, his face flushing slightly as she speaks. He opens his mouth once again to say something, closes it for a second, then speaks. "Am I really that transparent?" he asks quietly as he brings his glass to his lips and downs the rest of the Rum (and coke) with a pair of gulps. "You're right, of course. You always are." Right to which answer though, he doesn't say.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty's coy smile flashes at him as she says, "I knew it. You and schoolgirl outfits," she teases. The younger woman looks up into the blue of Warren's eyes, as if she could indeed see his thoughts. See who he is as a person. And she knows him so well, maybe she can. "Not transparent, not to others. But you put yourself out there with me so I know you. And that's one of the things I love about you, Warren Worthington," Kitty tells him happily.

She leans up to nuzzle a gentle kiss to his cheek just in front of his ear. Rubbing her lips back and forth against his face. "Mmm, love it when you have a little bit of stubble," she tells him, feeling the whiskers against her skin. "I am so happy like this. Whenever we're ready to move ahead, we'll know it," she agrees.

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Hey...that last time you wore that outfit I just about wrecked you," Warren mutters under his breath. "Don't tease." He sighs, pulling her in closer and resting his cheek on her head, "To you it isn't even a matter of if, but when, is it? If that is the case, maybe we should just move ahead. I can have us in Vegas in a couple of hours..."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty laughs as Warren plays into her coy answer. Though her own is more serious. "The Professor would probably say something about how the journey is what's important and not the destination. And I'm enjoying every moment of our lives like this. And when they are ready to continue on together like that... we'll know it's the right time," she says warmly.

The young woman nuzzles her face against his tenderly. "I trust you completely. You earned that so long before we ever got together."

She laughs. "And if you even think about doing it in Vegas, my mother will filet you when next you see her!"
