Scoping out the new kids
Date of Scene: 30 November 2021
Location: Avengers Mansion Kitchen
Synopsis: Natasha takes it upon herself to briefly feel out the new entry to the roster, Felicia Hardy. Natasha comes off way nicer than she actually is! No one dies and no secrets are divulged.
Cast of Characters: Felicia Hardy, Natasha Romanoff

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I'll do my best to not make a fool of myself. I promise. My BEST behavior." Black Cat says into her phone before making sure the sound of her zipper being tugged upwards can be heard. Yes. She's keeping her promise and modesty is a part of that.

The Cat then lifts her phone and presses her lips together in a kiss and closes one eye before the shutter sound activates. Of course she's taking a selfie in the Avengers Mansion. She's a hero now. Or she feels like one.

Leaning back into her chair and setting her phone down on the small table in the lunch area, Felicia let's out a sigh as she tucks her hands between her thighs and looks up and around, taking it all in

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
The next time Felicia looks up, Natasha is just sort of there now, leaning forward over her with her arms folded, looking down at Felicia. "Hello." She says simply.

Unlike most of the other Avengers, this one doesn't tend to grab headlines, doesn't do interviews, didn't even give a name for the first three years... but she's recognizable enough as the Black Widow. She was there at the beginning, during Loki's invasion. She pops up on film sometimes during public incidents.

    She looks very serious.

    "You're new here."

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I am." Felicia says, lifting an eyebrow causing her domino mask to shift slightly on her face. She leans back and slides her hands to rest on top of her legs. "You've been here a while." Felicia responds in kind, but with some of her bubbly tone peaking through. She's not really intimidated by the Avenger, but she does have respect in her tone.

Felicia's eyes dart around the room briefly, making sure there's no one else or that there aren't any threats she didn't notice earlier, she wanted to say something to sound confident and prove that she's just as deserving of being here as anyone else, but the reformed thief is feeling a tinge of imposter syndrome suddenly and so she leans into that, "I'm hoping this imposter syndrome I'm feeling goes away sooner than later." Giving her the slight boost in confidence that she needs, sitting back, rolling her chest forward and straightening her spine to sit full her full height and be herself. "Black Cat." Refusing to give her full name, but adding "You already knew that though. I assume." It's not an assumption, it's a safe guess.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha wheels around Felicia, giving a bit of a wide berth, though by the time she steps back into Felicia's line of sight, the whole atmosphere around her seems to... change? She's smiling in a way that seems gentle, but a little awkward with the situation. Weird. Maybe she just seemed harsh from that angle?

"Oh, that only goes away when you stop caring." She replies breezily, pulling a chair towards her and sitting on it backwards to face Felicia. "We try to hang on to that around here."

"I know a couple things." She admits with an easygoing shrug. "Black Widow." She returns her code name in kind.

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"I'm still caring, I'll be sure to let you know the moment I don't. I know they're tight as hell, but my emotions tend to be on my sleeves." Felicia notes with a click of her claws against themselves and a smirk shot towards Natasha.

"I'm sure you get this a lot, but I'm trying hard not to fan girl right now, you're part of the inspiration for this." Felicia says, motioning towards her own suit. A lie, but a believable one that could get a few brownie points and help in the immediate future.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
"Appreciated." Natasha replies with a little grin, though she tilts her head with a curious look as Felicia goes on. "Am I?" She asks a bit dryly, and good humoredly replies "That's worrying. I'll try not to dash your illusions right away."

Not that Natasha believes a word of it, but if you're telling people what you really think, you're not a very good spy.

    "Karen brought you here?"

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"No no, illusions aren't exactly healthy at my- um- our age." A little bit of ass kissing never hurt anyone. Especially during the probationary period of your employment.

"Karen yes." More than happy to change the subject to why and how she's here instead of the why she's dressed the way she is. Even if she is more modest than traditionally viewed. "She invited me on a mission spearheaded by Ant-Man. It was..." Felicia turns her attention away as her memory takes her thousands of miles away in a horrific fit of recollection. "An experience. No relation, but is there like a team therapist?" Felicia then smiles her million dollar smile that's unlocked many doors, and back doors in her life.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
"They tend to be." Natasha answers drly regarding Felicia's 'experience', smiling the warm, fond 'been there a hundred times myself' smile of a mother or a cool aunt. One hundred percent falsely, but one wouldn't know it by looking.

"'Fraid not. Tony will never pay for one as long as he's expected to *talk* to them. There's some open ears around here though."

Natasha stands up then "Anyway! Just checking in on new arrivals; didn't mean to bother. I'll see you around, okay?" Natasha says, sounding utterly harmless. There's very clear video footage of her twisting a Dark Elf's head 180 degrees with her legs. These two things conflict with each other.

Felicia Hardy has posed:
"You're not a bother, and if you were, you'd probably know I thought you were before I knew it." Felicia says, frowning at herself, for a few reasons as she's twisted in her chair to continue giving Natasha her own weird millennail version of praise. "I'll just keep going to my regular therapist, she could use the extra money, I'm sure." Felicia notes more to herself and pouts slightly, turning back to not let herself be stuck watching Natasha walk away from the conversation but she does turn back one last time. "Nice meeting you. Looking forward to working with you." Felicia says with some volume to her voice.

Then quickly rolls her eyes at herself and hunches back over, hands between her thighs once more. "Stupid-Felicia-stupid and childish." She berrates herself.
