Peggy Carter has posed:
While the celebration was lovely, and the park was still high with good spirits, the realization that something was going wrong certainly soured things for Daniel and Peggy. Even as she ordered people to enjoy if if they could, she gave him a little pout and a quiet sigh. "Let's... go home." She mutters, once they are pulled away from their colleagues. She loves Christmas. She was so excited to do the count down. She hates this.

She's quiet on the drive home in the car, opting to be the one who drives, instead of him, in efforts to distract her mind. But he knows her. She's quietly angry at the universe and pouting in her own Peggy way the entire trip back to the house. She doesn't even ask him if the house is okay, or if he wanted to stay closer to the city. She just *goes*.

Daniel Sousa has posed:
Daniel knew that mood well, and truthfully he shared it more than a little. Paradoxically their new beginning made him even more protective of these little moments than he was before when their was an expiry date on their time together, he suspected it was the romantic in him wanting to savour their first of each of the special yearly moments without the weight of doom hanging above their heads. So, he is more than happy to leave Peggy to her silence while he wrapped himself in his own. The first time he realizes where they were headed is when they pull into the garage of their home, as he blinks out of his thoughts. "Good choice," he says of their destination. "Want to get some hot chocolate and take stock?" he asks.

Peggy Carter has posed:
When he mentions good choice, Peggy blinks over to him, only now realizing he didn't even know where they are going. She studies him quietly, getting out of her own head to read his face, which is when she realizes he's just as disappointed as she is. A deep sigh escapes her lips, "Oh, darling... I'm... Sorry. That was supposed to be nice. That *was*... Nice. It was." She tries to insist, as if they could convince their brains the good parts weren't tainted by the bad.

A bittersweet smile pulls at her still red lips as she reaches her hand up to cup his cheek. "Hot chocolate would be nice. Part of me doesn't want to work the rest of the day and says it should wait until tomorrow, the rest of me worries it's ruined anyway so we might as well work."

Daniel Sousa has posed:
Daniel meets her eyes and smiles, "The ending wasn't the best but I enjoyed all the parts before it," his smile grows a little bit wider. "Even if you did kiss me infront of the magic nuns."

As for the evening, he suggests. "Well let's get the hot chocolate and see where the night takes us, if we work, we work, if not we can throw on a movie and make the most of the rest of the evening."

Peggy Carter has posed:
"We're *married*, Daniel Sousa. I'll kiss you in front of any nuns I PLEASE, thank you very much." Peggy states with a teasing little grin. She pulls him into one deeper kiss, as if to demonstrate it, and then lets him go. "Alright. Out of the car. Hot chocolate. Out of these clothes. It's a start."

She then kills the engine, finally, and swings out of the car to walk around and in through the kitchen. Things are relaxing enough that she's stopped clearing the room every time she comes into the house. She just walks in, the way they used to, like there's no one that wants both of them dead. She slips out of her coat, sloppily tossing it across the back of the kitchen table chair. Her shoes are kicked off near the front door a moment later. "I'm changing, at least. This was... well, it was what I was wearing to do something big and showy in public. I may just steal one of your soft flannel pajama pants."

Daniel Sousa has posed:
Daniel chuckles into that kiss that he returns in the same fashion. "Mmm well when you put it that way forget the nuns," he grins.

He follows her to the kitchen kicking off his own shoes and putting his coat and scarf on a hook just inside the door. "As long as you leave me one, steal away," he says. "But I'm calling dibs on my robe," he grins before jerking his head back towards the door and heading for the bedroom and much more comfortable clothing.

Peggy Carter has posed:
"We need to get you another robe. Another *warm* one." He was reading her thoughts. Peggy gives him the briefest almost pout and then continues her way through the house, with him, to their bedroom. More comfortable clothing seems more important than hot chocolate right now. She's already unbuttoning her dress before they get through the door and, a moment later, it's tossed over the back of her desk chair before stockings are unclipped and follow just as quickly. She then looks up, watching him as he starts to peel out of clothes. "...or we could warm up other ways, you know? We've already offended nuns today..."

Daniel Sousa has posed:
"Hmm, maybe Santa will bring us a spare for Christmas," he muses as they head down the hall. By the time they reach the bedroom Daniel's shirt is unbuttoned and by the way he watches her peel herself out of the dress they're still very much on the same wavelength like they were about the robe.

"Oh? What ways are those?" he asks playing dumb, a smirk pulling at the corners of his lips.

Peggy Carter has posed:
"Oh... I have my talents..." Peggy mutters throatily, sauntering over him to tug on the collar of his undershirt and pull him into a kiss that would absolutely offend some nuns if they did it in public. She only comes up for air when she decides it's time to get that shirt off of him. Thoroughly pleasant distractions come to follow, happier things to push away the stress of the day. Apparently, they won't be working tonight.
