Looking Over The City
Date of Scene: 31 March 2020
Location: Plunder Penthouse
Synopsis: Shanna and Kevin discuss the city.
Cast of Characters: Shanna, Kevin Plunder

Shanna has posed:
It's amazing all the little things you forget. You'd think 'civilization' would fall under the 'bicycle' umbrella of things you never forget how to do once you learn it, but a half decade or so thriving in the hostile wilds sort of dulls your expectations for conveniance.
It also raises a few eyebrows when you go through a store with a broad leather satchel slung over your arm. All told, Shanna feels like maybe she'd prefer to kill to survive; and if the lines had been any longer, she might have.
Still... there are some things you just can't get in the Savage Land. Not yet anyway. Shanna has some chemistry to look up.
But that's neither here nor there. In the short term, purchases will do, and money will be gladly gotten rid of by the time Shanna returns up to the penthouse she shares with her husband; a short sleeveless yellow dress and short heeled shoes worn as a compromise to civilization, and a band adorned with numerous beast fangs attached to her upper arm worn in passive aggression against it. She sighs with relief as she closes the door behind her, and calls out "Ka-Zar?" taking a few steps in before trying again in a language few would recognize: <Beloved? Are you here?>

Kevin Plunder has posed:
The Lord of the Savage Land is having trouble adjusting, but who can blame him? He ended up there when he was still a child, and spent almost his entire life in that dangerous, but wondrous place. -This- land is the odd one to him. Still, he's trying.
The large penthouse suite is fairly quiet at the moment, with her voice being unanswered at first. After a moment or two, however, the large form of the sabertooth tiger that is their constant companion tromps into view. He rubs along her side and nuzzles her before he turns and makes his way off, his tail swishing. Likely to lead her to Ka-Zar.
She eventually finds him lounging on the balcony, the sliding glass door open. He looks out over the city sprawled many, many stories below. His long blonde hair rustles about his naked shoulders. He's wearing only a pair of expensive slacks at the moment, even being barefoot. A necklace hangs around his neck, baring the claws and teeth of large predators, along with the anti-metal amulet hanging in the center. He glances over his shoulder and smiles softly.
    "My queen."

Shanna has posed:
"Zabu!" Shanna calls with genuine cheer as the massive cat approaches her, setting her satchel down and putting her arms around Zabu's shoulders and kissing him behind the ear. Their introduction was not the most promising, but the incredible animal holds a place in Shanna's heart above most living members of the human race.
    All but one, perhaps.
<I'm happy to see you~> she tells him warmly, with no hint of the baby-talk or well meaning condescension that often comes with speaking to an animal, and simply follows Zabu's lead; crawling for a few steps before she rises to her feet properly. She kicks off her shoes in the process - damnable things - and stops in the doorway of the balcony, watching her husband silently for a moment with a soft smile as she rubs the top of Zabu's head.
She silently saunters towards Ka-Zar, smiling warmly and putting her hands to his shoulders and pressing her body to his back as she purrs "My Lord." in return as she rises up on her tiptoes and kisses his cheek from over his shoulder, gently rubbing his bare back affectionately with slender hands.

Kevin Plunder has posed:
He turns his head to take the kiss on his cheek, and he reaches back and around to brush his fingers through her thick, blonde hair. He chuckles softly, his voice deep and pleasant, his accent crisp despite the years of savagery. "How was your day?," he asks. Zabu removes himself, climbing up onto a couch and lounging there, his head on his paws.
Ka-Zar turns to face her, leaning back against the railing. Stark Tower can be seen in the distance. His hands slide down to land on her hips as he looks into her eyes, an intimacy shared there. "Mine was as you could expect. I was dragged to one meeting after another. Business. All of this money and influence and..." He shakes his head, sighing.

Shanna has posed:
In contrast, Shanna's accent - an amalgam of African and American from her time spent in different lands, has faded slightly from disuse, taking more of the tone familiar to the Savage Land. Ironically, once she had effectively taught Ka-Zar English, she found she had little use for it; other than as a sort of shared secret language the people back home couldn't understand, ironically. Now that language broadcasts their feelings to everyone.
Answering first, Shanna sighs softly, closing her eyes and stepping back as Ka-Zar turns around, leaning into him again once she's in his powerful arms. "Madness, of a mundane sort." She says gently, a bit of a smile on her lips so as not to burden him with petty problems, merely relay them. "Enough to make you favor fighting over a kill rather than waiting for everyone to get their share."
She listens to 'Kevin' speak - a name she barely uses except in public here - and keeps her eyes on his with an expression of sympathy; though not pity. One does not 'pity' the Lord of the Savage Land.
<You should never have been troubled with this world, my love> She says in the language more comfortable between them, albeit it may not be quite that eloquent. There's a certain uncomplicated and intense intimacy between them, as Shanna holds her body against his, warming each other and watching him intently. A sort of simple and unbreakable bond and understanding that comes with a relationship largely uncomplicated by human nature, borne of simple intense feelings and trust; more resembling a pair of animals rather than people in some ways.
<But Ka-Zar is mighty. And this will not last forever.> She says, nuzzling her nose against his gently, trying to be a... comforting presence, if not exactly a calming one.

Kevin Plunder has posed:
<Mmm. A week feels like a year here,> he says softly, chuckling. He reaches out to brush his fingers through his queen's hair as she leans against him. He peers over her shoulder at the suite beyond. It is a lovey home, all in all, but he misses his simple tree house. He misses it all, as dangerous as it was. Still, he has her here. That is enough.
<This place was always waiting for me. I may be Ka-Zar, but I am also Plunder. There is nothing I can do to change that.> He traces his rough fingertips down her back through her sundress, and he turns to look over his shoulder at the city below. <This is like another jungle, isn't it? With different predators and different prey. Different rules, but no less brutal in a way.>

Shanna has posed:
Shanna tilts her head into Ka-Zar's hand as it moves through her luxurious mane of straight blonde hair, eyes half lidding as she looks up at her mate who towers above her.
<... It's worse> she admits softly. <The predators back home do not hide their nature. They do not resemble the prey. Here, you can go years before you realize they've drawn you into a trap.>
It's an... unkind assessment of humankind. In fairness to Shanna, most of the moments in her life that she'd like to relive happened after she was spirited away from this world, not before.
That said, she smiles at Ka-Zar, a certain passion in her eyes borne of a woman who's all but forgotten how to hide her feelings, much less repress them. The Savage Land's language is... insufficient for what she wants to say, so she speaks in English as she says, "... We'll survive it. And I'll share each endless day with you. Gladly." Before speaking more familiarly: <My home is by your side, Lord Ka-Zar>
It'll be difficult for her, but she means it. It's not a bond born of comfort and conveniance that you share.

Kevin Plunder has posed:
<Back home many predators describe their nature. We've simply learned to identify them,> he says. He leans down and leaves a kiss on her forehead. His fingers brush through her hair, adoring and petting her as he glances aside to look over the city again while holding her. "Either way, yes. We will tackle this place together. You and I..." There's a growl from the room. "...And Zabu," he adds with a small chuckle.
He leans down, then, and lays a kiss on his wife's lips, before kissing to her ear and sighing. "We just need to figure out a plan, like we always did back home. AN order of foes to tackle, so to speak."

Shanna has posed:
Shanna closes her eyes and chuckles softly, <Hm hm. I suppose so.> She says. Ka-Zar IS the expert on such things. As formidible as she's become, it's easier for her to forget the days she was a bumbling nuisance in the Savage Land early on. She may as well have worn a neon sign marketing herself to predators as an exotic meal.
Not many people were putting good odds on her taking down a Tyranosaurus any time soon. Much less coming away looking like some kind of blood drenched goddess.
She gives a much more sincere, pretty laugh when Zabu voices there protest, and nods her head in agreement as she looks to the big cat, "Most importantly." she says with a twinkle in her eyes, before looking to Ka-Zar just in time for his lips to meet hers, throwing her arms around his shoulders as her does. She presses her cheek to his, her lips near his ear as she nods. "... This city certainly must have scouts, of a sort." She says softly, "... Perhaps we should soon find out if you can exchange your money for... names."

Kevin Plunder has posed:
"Money can do many, many things it seems. I will see about this," he replies. His nose brushes her ear as he speaks. There is a casual intimacy to them that can make others uncomfortable. 'Civilized' people are so ashamed of their affection, but neither of them are. "We will figure it out."
He turns to look out at the city again, one arm around her waist and her hip to his leg. "But I think that is enough 'city' for today, don't you think?" He glances down at her, offering a small smile as he brushes some of her blonde hair from her beautiful face. "Let us find a way to pass the time away from all of that nonsense. What shall we do? Recount old stories? Make some dinner?," he asks.

Shanna has posed:
Shanna smiles coyly and leans her head against Ka-Zar's shoulder, blonde hair draping over his back. "... Both are better enjoyed with a warmed spirit, and a well exercised body, in my experience.." She turns to him and brings her lips close to his, softly finishes, <Lord Ka-Zar~> before kissing him intimately.
Sometimes the woman has a one track mind. In fairness, there are only so many ways to pass the time in the wilds.
